With regard to player positions so far I've used 2 squads so about 44 players with each position having at least 4 different players. General strategies with a 442 - I tend to use an AM type and DM type in combination. Home easy games wing backs and attacking winger players for tough games DL/R and ML/R. If looking to attack on break quicker forwards, whearas at home more inventive forwards. A quick example Giggs at MC with Fletcher, Nani at Home Park away, Berbs at Home Wellbeck away. knap Posted October 26, 2011 Author Share Posted October 26, 2011 With "Against the Grain" you need to check CD as may cause problems if not a top club. This is a Barcelona dominating tactic. Due to CD may work very well with a small pitch and underdog. I'm using large pitch size on FM12 but was using standard on FM11. I feel like the Wingers (Nani, Young and Valencia) are wasted being played at MR/L instead of AMR/L hence why I am asking. And Man Utd have too many strikers for the Against the Grain tactic I think. knap Posted October 27, 2011 Author Share Posted October 27, 2011 Closing Down Option tactics (applicable to all tactics) With Against the Grain runs are difficult to see but change FB and midfield runs as defensive options and if necessary add time wasting. Down to 10 probably remove left MC and keep attacking. Against the grain is a full blown attack tactic but change to 442 as an attacking option.
