Wage Budget - £19,430 p/w - Currently Spending £23,376 p/w

Pre-Season Transfers - The two who left were on ridiculous wages in which I managed to get three players in for the same cost!We bought in eight players who were either better then what we had gave us more strength in depth in my aim to at least come in a playoff spot.

Expectations - My expectations in italics

League 2 - Top Half -Playoff Spot

FA Cup - 2nd Round - 3rd Round

League Cup - Learn from Experience of Participation - Be competitive

J.P Trophy - 2nd Round - Southern Quarter Finals

Key Players

Engin Uludag - DC - The French-Turkish Englishman, who really improved during the season due to his exposure of first team football. He is rated as the best DC at the club and put in some solid performances throughout last season.I will be looking for more of the same from him as I want a playoff spot at the very least.

Abu Ogogo - DR,MR - Has been the top provider in the last couple of seasons as he topped the assist chart both times. He is Mr Versatility himself as he can actually play anywhere in defene, as well as DMC,WBR,MR and AMR.He is very handy in matches as I am able to change his position during games and we won't be affected to much by doing so.Will be looking for him to carry on his consistent form as we look to climb the table.

Darren Carter - MC/ML - One of footballs journeymen as we are his eleventh club since he first started playing. He will be playing in the MC role as I've tweaked the tactics to a 4-3-1-2 formation in the hope of making the football more attacking. He should be able to make a great contribution at this level but will play a bit more defensive allowing the other midfielders to get forward more.

Ashley Gallagher - AMC -Regarded as the best player in the team by the assistant manager and the coaches.Did very well last season, scoring 10 goals in 49 appearances from the AMC position and is still getting better.I feel this season he will be better yet and would love him to get nearer the 15 goal mark for this season.Always had a hand in the build play of attacks and hope he can do the same this season.

Jay Rimmer - ST - Our number 1 striker in the team.I've been aware of him since he played for Man Utd u18s where he did make a few first team appearances as well.He was Leyton Orient last season but they did not really give him a chance as he started three games while making a further eleven appearances from the subs bench. He is a poacher so will have him do that and see how he fairs,I'm hoping he will get around 15 goals!

Ones to Watch

Morgan Rowley - AMC - 1* CA,5* PA - Ashley Gallagher's long term successor at this level and League 1 level. It is handy as not only the play in the same position but also the same role in the position. He was the stand out player from the Youth Candidates last time, will give him a couple of years to develop as by then he should be backup to Gallagher.Currently the 4th best AMC in the team.

Albert Hunt - ST,AML - 5* silver,5* gold PA - The Cork born youngster has the potential to be a leading League 1 striker and was also another stand out player from the Youth Candidates last time.I've already seen good link up play between hi and Rowley in the u18 friendlies so it will be exciting to see if they can do it a few years down the line.Already a adecent player at Blue Square Bet Premier level but is currently the 8th best striker in the team so does have a lot of competition to break through but he should be able to do it as he is fairly ambitious.

Pre-Season Overview

If we take out the pre-season results from the friendlies then it has been a solid pre-season.I've tweaked the formation to be more attacking this season and I feel we stand a good chance at meeting my expectations of a playoff spot. The major threats to my ambitions are Oldham,Walsall and Brentford who all came down from League 1 but they have much stronger squads than those around us.We are back in debt (which is entirely my fault this time!) so will be looking for good cup runs in all cups as this will help wipe the debt out and put us further into the black.

My reputation seems to be growing as I was linked to a number of League 1 jobs but I decided to stay put and see if I can get the promotion with Dag and Red,the only downside to managing here is that the Chairman would not allow me to have a contract which was more then a year!If a really good offer in comparison to what I have here comes along then I will have to think about it but for now I will focus on what needs to be done!

I find it nice to be linked to higher league jobs even if it's just mentioning it.

I would seriously consider jumping ship if it is a very good offer. The only thing I can guarantee is that I want a shot managing in the A-League and the MLS,not bothered by who I'd manage in the A-League,in the MLS it would probably have to be Seattle,Toronto or Vancouver but would consider the others.

As for Dag + Red,we have made a good start so far, played five....won three....drew two! I've decided to go for a 4-1-1-3-1 formation and so far it is paying off with eight goals scored and three conceded. We did however lose 3-2 in the first round of the League Cup to Championship side Bristol City.

You probably won't get offered any of those jobs, I've always found in the lower leagues that clubs just don't pay compensation for a new manager even if it would be a low amount due to the 1-year deals. But it's always nice to know that your wanted and gives an idea of where you can go if you decided to resign at any stage.

but good start to the season and the result against Bristol C isn't too bad considering the size difference of the clubs. :)

cerud - Vancouver has just been made favourite for a job I want to take in the MLS then :D

Azeryk` - Your right with they won't pay compensation for a new manager.I also noticed that if you declare interest in a job,the chairperson will give you an answer if suitable and whether compensation fee would be a problem. It's probably from an older version but I've just not notied

Thanks...with Bristol City,it did take them a 90th minute goal to knock me out as well. They are pretty much a mid-table side so I am happy with our performance.

abulezz - Rowley is rated as the better of two by our assistant manager (JPA 11!) who reckons they would be leading League 1 players but I reckon they could eventually do a job for the teams fighting against relegation in the Championship.

Competitions

nPower League 2

http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx349/will2909/Hitch%20hikers%20guide%20to%20FM12/npowerLeague2Overview_Stages-2.png[/img]"]npowerLeague2Overview_Stages-2.png

FA Cup - We beat Ebsfleet 2-1 in the first round before we claimed the scalp of League 1 side Crystal Palace as we won 2-1 at Selhurst Park.In the third round we have been drawn against Premiership giants Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Not only we will get a lot money from the game,we will also receive an extra £140,000 as it has been moved back for TV.Normal circumstances would rule a shock out but Steve McClaren is in charge of Chelsea so anything could be possible.

League Cup - Lost 3-2 to Bristol City in the first round. We were much more competitive then last season so that is an improvement straight away.

J.P Trophy - Received a bye in the first round before we controversially lost 2-0 to Crawley in the second round, they were given a soft penalty and a goal from an offside position whereas I had a goal disallowed for offside and a stonewall penalty denied!

Mid-Season Overview

I am quite stunned to be sitting top of the league at the halfway point on the season, out of all honesty I was hoping to be in a playoff spot but we have been playing out of out skins.Out of the four games we have lost, two of those were where we finished with ten men so no complaints really. We made a quick exit in the League Cup and J.P Trophy but in the FA Cup,we have made it to the third round where we will play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and it's televised.....cher-ching!

In the Summer,I applied for the Oldham job after they were relegated to League 2 but they turned me down.Fast forward 16 league games, they sack their manager and offer me the job....no thanks! I will be here till the end of the season at the very least but if a really good offer comes in,then I will see if I can delay the decision till the end of the season.

Thanks, will try my best to

I am absolutely over the moon with this result but at the same time disappointed that we couldn't hold on!

This was a minor shock compared to League 1 Portsmouth knocking Everton out and Exeter beating Tottenham!

Finances are now at £469k in the black, the Chelsea game is my last for the night due to it being 1am and me being knackered.

These cup runs are becoming your bread and butter! :) Consistent performance will have you with heaps of cash from when you move up the league and need to bring in players. How's your stadium holding up in L2? Any chance of an expansion needed yet?

Some of my best seasons have come after a bad pre-season so don't take anything from the results.

And on the other hand, some of my worst seasons have come after great pre-seasons. :D

Great performance so far BWG. Becoming a bit of a cup specialist I see. Is it by any chance related to high cup bonuses for players?

Thanks guys :D

KaanTR - I've added the Turkish league down to Division 2 which will start 19/6/16 so I may get an opportunity to manage their in the future.

cerud - Thanks!!At the moment,we are averaging 3354/6077 so we won't be having an expansion or a new stadium anytime soon.

noikeee - Nope,I was a tight ass with the bonuses, after choking last season,I put them on low leauge and cup bonuses...will help save money!

It looks to be...and talking of the replay

http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx349/will2909/Hitch%20hikers%20guide%20to%20FM12/DagRedvChelseaInformation_Overview.png[/img]"]DagRedvChelseaInformation_Overview.png

Absolutely stunned with this especially as Chelsea had a goal disallowed which looked onside. My reward for beating Chelsea....a trip to fellow League 2 side,Newport County!

Very impressive result against Chelsea! Did your keeper have the game of his life to keep Chelsea out, or did the Chelsea strikers just not have their shooting boots on?

My keeper finished the match with a 7.8 rating so I think it's a mixture of the two.Chelsea had 10 shots on target which my keeper dealt with but they had 12 off target and 7 blocked so their finishing was rather poor as well.

Away draw, home victory.....the story of my cup runs

Drew away to Newport in the 4th round so hopefully I can muster up a home victory!

With regards to league form, going through a minor blip at the moment as we've only recorded 1 win in 4 games...need to somehow improve consistency.

Thanks :D

We won the replay against Newport County 2-1,we are now away to Sheffield Wednesday in the 5th round who are a mid-table Championship club. They have a big ground which hopefully they can fill so it gives us some more money,we currently have £845k in the bank!

The warchest could potentially get even bigger! If we can get past Sheffield Wednesday in the 5th round then we will be away to Man City which should push my balance over £1mill :D

EDIT:Just finished the replay.....BOOM! Bring on City!

Thanks :D

I seem to be a cup specialist!Who knows what will happen,I've already knocked out Chelsea who sit in 2nd in the Premiership while City are 3rd so it could well happen

I'll try my best!

Thanks :D

In the game against City,we lost 2-1 but I know deep down we gave it our all.The boys put up a fighting effort which kept me satisfied in defeat.

As for the finances,we now have a massive £1.9 million in the bank!
