Hmph. Lost the Italian Super Cup to Lazio. Not impressed. We did beat Genoa in the European Super Cup to take that title though, so that's pleasing.

I've started off big changes at the club now though. Sold £65m worth of talent this summer, dwarfing the £23.5m I spent. The big signing of the window was a young winger from Villarreal I've tracked since he was 16. Juan Ignacio Gras (£17.25m). Should be the long-term successor to Luca Della Corna on the right wing. Other than that, I just signed two young prospects, Jonathan Gimenez and Umberto De Marco.

Departed are Alfredo Casillas (£20m), Antonis Koltzos (£9.5m), Lautaro Corno (£15m) and Apostolos Zarkos (£20m). Time to start introducing the youth...

Gras looks stunning iacovone. The players you sold are phenomenal, was it the age then that forced you to sell? £20m for a 29 yr old is quite good business I suppose. Casillas is phenomenal.

Just got my youth recruits, rubbish. got a 2 star keeper, Ludovic Barbier, and 1.5 star left wing back Girolamo Masciantonio. Signed those 2, released the rest, rubbish!

With Casillas, I figured I could never play him all the time. Velazquez is the main playmaker and then I play a more defensive CM alongside him. Plus we have some brilliant young CMs coming through so I thought I couldn't pass up on £20m. He is amazing though.

Gras should turn out to be a fine player.

Bad luck with the academy - sounds just like mine :(

corinthiano I don't know much about computers but to me it sounds like something a shop will be able to repair? The data will still be there, just obviously something wrong with accessing it. I hope it works out ok mate

Some good and some great signings up the page.

I will probably have a season update done in the weekend, but after that things will slow down because I'll have some pretty important school stuff coming up in the next few months. The youth intake was pretty good again with six players being signed up and five having 4.5/5 star potential (good liga adelante/leading liga adelante players in the future), but they're nowhere near PRDH's (that last intake was back to the usual standards).

Good luck in retaining the CL, PRDH!

corinthiano - Hope your computer troubles get sorted and you manage to get your save back as well.

Mid-Season 2021/22

Liga BBVA

February 1st Update

LIGA BBVA

Well I went into the season wanting to do nothing except avoid relegation, well the first half of the season has blown that expectation aside. I am guessing a season back down and some rebuilding really made the difference, we have been amazing in our new stadium, in fact we are unbeaten at Parla Stadium going 10-1-0 to this point, including victories against Barcelona & Athletic. Our form away from home is nowhere near as good, we have gone 2-0-8 at other teams stadiums. In our home games we have scored 24 goals and conceded only 5, while away from home we have scored 16 and conceded 29, our away defense is not as good, I am thinking about pulling the boys back a bit and not going for the goal as much away. Well some players stepped up and others let me down, Ferrari was terrible, I am now looking at how to sell him off, but the best offer I got was 5M from Real Madrid who I didn't want to have him. Linhart (Next Rosciky) has really stepped up, he has played at Right Wing, in the middle and a bit deeper and has not once let me down.

My Stars of the Half: Def: David Sedlacek (DC), Mid: Ondrej Linhart (AMRC) , Fwd: Jesus Montiquin (ST)

Good Results: vs Barcelona 2:1, vs Athletic 3:1

Bad Results: at Real Madrid 0:3, at Valencia 1:5

Players out on Loan

The only loans went to our feeder club Jerez, some good looking stats coming from there as well.

Other News

We added a third feeder club as Xerez joined our stable, hoping to pull them back into Liga Adelante and see what I can do from there. And then our 3rd home game of the season was a sell out as we saw Barcelona come to town and 20,926 fans filled the stands. And we made it to 400 games with myself in charge, winning that game 5:0 against Celta. After that game we dominated the team of the week with 8 starters.

I have been turning down jobs everywhere this season, our amazing league form has seen almost every club in the league chasing my signature: At. Madrid, Athletic, R. Sociedad, Deportivo, Villareal, Granada, Cartagena, & Malaga.

We have also seen some international debuts and first international Goals as well: Sedlacek Debut, Radebe Debut & Goal, Bumbera Goal.

Salerno Calcio

Italian Serie B

Salernitana Soccer 1919, Salerno, Campania, Italy

End of 2014/2015 Season Report, Salerno, Italy, June 23rd, 2015

For a team that barely squeaked into Serie B last year, we did pretty damn good. We finished 11th which is a little better than the 14th I was hoping to reach, but kicked the hell out of the 22nd place the media predicted. We started off strong and lucky beating some much better teams than us (including Padova who won the league by 12 pts and only had 7 losses for the season). Then in February, we lost 5 games in a row. I think mainly this was due to a rash of injuries we experienced. Really the only reason we did so well this season was because of our defensive line and the lightning reflexes of our young new keeper. In February our defenders started dropping like flies, including a broken leg (that still isn't healed) and twisted ankle. We went from a team that had a surplus of a few players to a team that couldn't field a full roster without pulling in the reserves. If it weren't for that stretch we could have done even better. Really, the best thing about this team is that we have a giant stadium already. This let us pull in about the 6th highest attendance figure for the league even when we were playing terribly.

Competitions: Italian Cup

We finally beat expectations in the Italian Cup and made it to the 4th qualifying round where we were narrowly edged out by Lazio away 1-0. We played well though so there was no shame in that defeat.

Yearly Transfers

Here are the transfers we made this year: Transfers

The top three transfers (and players currently):

  • The best purchase I made, by far, was a young keeper who played for CSKA(Sofia) named Tsvetan Pirgov. He has cat like reflexes and saved us a lot of misery this year. He's still young and a little eccentric sometimes but he'll be a beast in a few years.
  • The next one is a youngster named Thorsten Bellanave who was released by Stuttgart. He's our set piece man and is developing into a pretty great playmaker.
  • My third most promising purchase this season is Noé Schweitzer a 21 year old of French and Qatar ancestry. He looks to be a pretty respectable centermid. Good creativity and passing and bags of potential.

We also took César Valenzuela on loan from Udinese again this year and had an option to buy him but he just hasn't really had the punch that I wanted. Instead I picked up Sasa Zivec on a free because my scouts are awesome. He's not really amazing in any area but he is fast and pretty solid overall.

2014/2015 End of Year League Table:

Promoted Serie C1/A: Treviso ©, Cittadella (P)

Relegated Serie C1/A: Foligno, Bellaria, Bassano

Promoted Serie C1/B: Cremonese ©, Avellino (P) (fierce rivals)

Relegated Serie C1/B: Catanzaro, Frosinone, Carrarese

Promoted Serie B: Padova ©, Lecce (P), Benevento (PL)

Relegated Serie B: Novara (oh how the mighty have fallen, they left Serie A just last season), Piacenza, Verona, Crotone

Relegated Serie A: Genoa, AlbinoLeffe, Brescia

Serie A top 3 teams: Inter (70pts), Roma (68pts), Juventus (65pts)

Here's my current squad after the free releases at the end of the season: SQUAD

Here's my Profile and my Personal info. I'm still not a fan of the press.

And here's the Salerno information. Our rep was stagnant this year but we did move up financially (yay big stadium!) and are now 34th in Italy financially @3.2M value. Our expected ticket prices should double and our attendance should more than double I hope.

Youth Uptake

I haven't posted about our youth intake before because they have almost universally sucked incredibly. The exceptions have been two strikers, Giacobbe Bandiera and Osmar González and this season we picked up a DM named Matteo Tiozzo. Giacobbe is getting close to being able to start seeing some backup first team action (or to get sold).

Plans for next year

For 2015-2016 I think we can get to the playoffs for Serie B. At a minimum we should at least have a top half finish. Our squad is one of the youngest in the league and they're still growing and improving. As for the transfer markets this year, I need to find someone to feed our front line a little more reliably. Our scoring was pretty horrible this season and we had a lot of trouble creating chances. I may look for a better backup GK also, our Serie C1 keeper is still with us but he's 39 years old and is showing his age and our third keeper is pretty meh. Other than that, I'll just have to see who I can see out in the transfer market and be very picky with who I bring on. As always, the wine will flow.

A nice season there 18Rabbbit, its always good to be able to solidify in mid-table and prepare for a push forwards. I really like how evenly the attributes are spread on Pirgov, what are your coaches saying about him? Will he be able to grow with the club into a top keeper at Serie A level?

It's the little things that make us love this game. Sammy Ogweno had started to complain about a lack of first team appearances, Ercan Yildirim had been a bit flat this season so I decided to give Ogweno a chance. After his first game he went to the paper to tell them he was complaining about it, then the next day they had done a survey of fans and he only got 12% support. Of course his performance since joining the side means he will stay in the spot for now: 2 Games, 2 Assists, 7.3 avg Rating.

Edit: Well I thought we might finally lose our unbeaten home record as Real Madrid came to town, but Linhart & Bife fired us to a 3:0 half time lead, and even Ronaldo & Higuain coming on made little difference as we finished them off 4:1, incredibly we now are 12-2-0 at home this season, 3-0-8 away.

It's been a while but...

... finally got some free time to return and finish what I started with Keçiörengücü in Turkey. :)

I am going to be balancing my save with an MA dissertation though (that's why I've been off the boards for a while) so progress may be slow.... :)

Wow. I'm really struggling for motivation, as it seems is iacovone, currently in an end of season limbo and really can't build up the interest to write it up. I think my reports will seriously contract from this point on. I'm tempted to run off and do another career as iacovone has, but I also really want to finish Cardoso's career. I'm in a quandary guys.

End of Season Update 2013/14 (2nd Season)

League Table

League Graph

Squad

Transfers

Finances

Season Summary:

I had been hoping for promotion coming into this season after a fantastic second half to last year, but it ended up being a very disappointing and frustrating season in terms of results and we ended up finishing 8th. It seemed like we were always able to score goals, and actually finished 2nd in the league for goals scored, and our defense was decent, too, finishing 7th in goals conceded, which resulted in the 2nd best goal difference in the league at +23. That's why it was such a frustrating season. We should have finished much higher. I think the main problem for us was a complete inability to win away from home, as well as an inability to get results against the big teams in the league. I'm not sure how to remedy that problem, but I'll have to figure it out.

Other news and notes:

The youth intake was a weak one again. Highest potential was 2 stars. I didn't offer any of them contracts. Adebayo Opara continues to shine, as he finished top scorer in the league with 25 goals. He has also taken over as captain of the Nigerian u20 team. The finances are in a bad state. Hopefully the chairman helps us out again with some more cash.

Next Season Targets:

Promotion, and improvements across all defensive positions if possible, with a right back to replace the departing Cristian the priority.

Mooping - Well that was a bit of a let-off, I know how it feels being unable to win away from home. I am currently trying to work on an away tactic to do something about it, but I am not sure what exactly the problem is, we just seem to allow that first goal and then find it hard to get back, but if I score first away it's easy. Good Luck in the new season, I'm trying to recover from a 5:2 loss at Camp Nou at the moment.

Aldojags - Matta looks an awesone signing! Don’t blame you taking the £12 million. Not bad profit in 4 months!

PRDH - congrats on the Portugal job. EDIT: understand your struggles for motivation… hope you find it again…

Iacovone - Gras looks like a stunning winger!! A handful for any fullback. Shame we won’t get to see how he develops you turn coat!! ;)

LLR - going great guns in La Liga there!

18Rabbit - solid debut season in Serie B there. Good foundations to build on for next season…

Moonpig - feel your frustration mate but keep plugging away. You’ll find your away form soon.

LLR what a great home record, if u could just throw in an away result more often you'd be looking at Champions League!

Mooping-you have exactly replicated my 1st 2 seasons with Viry-Chatillon, 6th, then 8th, sometimes you need to go back to go forward! I then won the league in my 3rd season, I've a good feeling you'll get promoted too!

18rabbit good solid season there, well done.

rlips-cant wait for Matta to join up. I've got a couple of bosmans lined up too, should be a strong squad next season. I'm trying to get a system that will compliment Matta, I've played 433 for near enough whole challenge, but I'm finding the higher up the leagues I climb, the better quality strikers tend to be too crowded out with 3 forwards playing, and getting service with only a 3 man midfield can be a bit hit or miss sometimes. But if I get him the chances and he stays fit, I'm convinced he could lead the line for the next 10 years.

LLR what a great home record, if u could just throw in an away result more often you'd be looking at Champions League!

It appears I may be looking at Champions League Football anyway, my team still sits 4th: (H) 13-3-0, (A) 4-0-10 => Top 3 in Spain go to group stage and 4th goes to the Playoffs, the Spanish Cup will be won by Real or Barcelona, so 5th-7th will qualify for Europa League. Happily I am 12pts clear of 8th, so I should at the very least be on my way to Europe. One thing is for sure, I am in the Liga BBVA next season as I am 24pts clear with 8 games remaining, and have two wins over Osasuna.

Well I had my Youth Intake, my best player is only 3 stars potential, a Central Defender born in Parla who is also a competent Right Back, Pablo Jose, I have also given offers to 12 other players in an attempt to start filling out an Under 19s squad with real players. They will be freely cut if better replacements come in. 4 Players have been offered Fulltime Contracts, the other 8 Youth Contracts.

18Rabbit - Good first season in Serie B. How much are you making from gate receipts with your huge stadium?

Mooping - Seems you've started like aldojags, so the next few seasons will see you go up the leagues pretty quickly.

LLR - Wow, that is some season for a side just promoted. Good luck in securing your CL spot. Pablo Jose looks pretty decent as well, his attributes are similar to Usandizaga's who is coming along nicely in my save.

Barakaldo End of Season Report 2015/16

Brief Roundup

Media Prediction: 22nd

Actual Position: 14th

Topscorer: Javi Ros (9)

Most Assists: Miguel Angel Etxaburu (10)

Best Rating: Miguel Angel Etxaburu (7.17)

Club Value: £3.3M

Finances: £114,095

Wage Budget: £36,019 (£30,139 in use)

Transfer Budget: £3.19k

Transfers

Javi Ros was the only player to join after the summer transfer window closed. In October I finally managed to get him to agree to wages that weren't outside of our reach.

Liga Adelante

Table|Graph

We won the first two games with very negative tactics before going on a terrible run of defeats. I changed to all out attacking and that seemed to work for a few games before we were found out. In January I seemed to have struck gold with a narrow 4-4-2 diamond which ruthlessly exploited the space left by other teams. We got up to 9th at one point, but dropped back to 14th as I gave a few youngsters starts as soon as we were definitely safe.

Copa del Rey

Run

A loss against Cartagena as we didn't have a response to late goals with the ultra-defensive approach I used at the start of the season.

Squad

Goalkeepers

Jon Ander Serantes - Continues to be a mainstay between the sticks, kept us in a number of games.

Defenders

Jonas Ramalho - Was better as a centreback than as a rightback, so that is where he'll play in a few years.

Joseba Zaldua - Not the best season for the backup rightback, but he didn't have many games at full fitness.

David Usandizaga - Developed well, especially after I made him available for the youth team to ensure he stayed fit.

Jon Manuel - Looked like he would be our first choice leftback after outperforming Ruiz, but injuries and a bad recovery saw him fall back to a backup status.

Inaki Astiz - Didn't start off too well, he recovered to have a good season.

Mikel Santamaria - Scored once and was a largely unused backup.

Jon Gaztanaga - Was impressive this season with five goals and lots of fantastic defensive performances.

Iker Ruiz - Very disappointing in the first half of the season. In the latter part he did decently. Still has a lot of potential.

Midfielders

Jon Erice - A consistently solid player.

Javier Eraso - Was injured for two months and spent most of the season coming on from the bench.

Javi Ros - A star in our team, his performances after joining turned our season around and fully justified his high wages.

Inigo Eguaras - Rotated with Beitia and had a decent season.

Joseba Beitia - Scored a couple and got a few assists in what was a good season for him.

Gorka - Was one of the few to do well in 2015, he will be let go as he deserves to play and our current formation doesn't use wingers.

Miguel Angel Etxaburu - Made his debut in 2016 as the latest of our youngsters to make an impact on the first team. Was a revelation with ten assists and two goals as he thrived in the attacking midfield role. He could potentially be a good Liga BBVA player.

Daniel Suarez - Not too bad, though I'll try to sell him in the summer because he continues to injure teammates and is another winger who won't be used.

Juan Imaz - Not great on the wing, will be backup to Etxaburu in attacking midfield for next season as he did better there.

Forwards

Asier Iribarren - Was terrible when the team did badly in the first few months. Liga BBVA potential and a some goals redeemed him.

Iosu Saiz - Broke Barakaldo's top league goalscorer record, and created a decent amount of goals.

Juan Dominguez - Not sure yet whether to keep him as a backup on lower wages or allow him to go. I'll have to see what becomes available and how far his wage demands will drop.

Mikel Orbegozo - Scored some important goals.

Youth Intake

Aingeru Ibero and Javier Segura both look like they could be good players in the future (decent Liga BBVA and good Liga Adelante potentials respectively) and they are being tutored by Juan Dominguez and Inaki Astiz. I'll be offering contracts to a few youngsters during preseason so that they can go on loan to feeder club Amurrio where David Bilbao had a good spell.

Aims for This Season

Survive - Success. It looked like we would get caught up in a relegation battle after the first half of the season, but a couple of morale boosting friendlies in the winter break and a new tactical approach saw us survive comfortably and even go within touching distance of the playoff spots at one point.

well done romanista, some good prospects there, what you thinking for next season, good season for Javi Ros, 7.12 is a great average rating for a season. I like that your using a few of your youth products and still doing well.

I hope to consolidate our position in the Liga Adelante next season, while improving the club's infrastructure. I'm really delighted that my youth players have been able to do well, I certainly hope this trend continues in the future.

Yes, I play quickly!

Season Summary:

That's more like it! After the disappointment of last season, we played up to our ability and our expectations this term, dominating the league from start to finish. We put to bed our away game demons with a record of 19 GP, 14W, 4 D, 1 L, 49 GF, 17 GA away from home, and our inability to beat the big teams in the league was put to bed also. In the process we set several team and league records, such as for most goals scored in the NAT with 107 and most points recorded in the NAT with 96. We also has an amazing run in the Coupe de la Ligue, reaching the semi-finals before being knocked out on penalties by Le Havre after a 0-0 draw. We didn't have the toughest draw in the cup, but did beat some big teams such as Bordeaux (2nd Rd.), Toulouse away (on penalties) (3rd Rd.), Nice (4th Rd.) and Bastia (QF).

Other news and notes:

Highest youth candidate was 2.5 stars, he was the first to receive a contract. Sékou Guessan took over from Adebayo Opara as our star man. Guessan led the lines with 40 league goals, and 48 goals all competitions, despite missing time at the African Cup of Nations. Together they combined for 70 goals in all competitions, and both made their senior international debuts.

Next Season Targets:

Ligue 2 survival. Strengthen at the RB, CB and CM positions.

Season Review 2018/19 (7th Season)

Ligue 1

Predicted: 14th | Finished 6th | Table | Graph | Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2

Improved on last seasons 10th, and was unlucky to miss out on European football, 2 points robbed me of Europa League. Conceded far less goals than I did last season, my new look defence contributed to that, despite selling Pep Morillo to Marseille halfway through season, I kept up decent defensive record. Scored less, my strikers struggled a bit this season, created plenty chances in most matches, just couldn't put them away. Pulled off some good results with wins at home to Lyon and Marseille.

Started poorly, drew my first 6 or 7 home games, couldn't buy a win at home, but as you can tell from my graph, slowly improved over the season. Unlike few years back, half my squad disappearing to African Nations didn't upset me too much, had plenty of cover this time round!

Pleased with the progress I've made this year, well and truly established ourselves now, disappointed to still only be drawing an average crowd of just over 4,000 despite being premier league team for 2 seasons now. That average would have been a lot lower if it wasn't for the 14,000 who showed up on the last day for the Parisian derby with PSG.

Played 433 for most of season, but feeling that is too hit or miss to progress, need to find something else that joins midfield to attack better, maybe going to try a diamond in midfield next season, see if we can push on to a 5th place finish next season maybe.

French Cup | 11th Round | Fixtures

Couldn't emulate my run to the final that I had last season, but getting knocked out away to eventual winners Marseille was not real suprise

Coupe de la Ligue | 3rd round | Fixtures

Really annoyed with this, knocked out at home to whipping boys Angers SCO, who finished bottom of our league and whom I beat twice in league. That really annoyed me.

Club Info

Information

Facilities - getting training and youth facilities improved in November for 2nd time in 2 years.

Transfers 1 + 2

Finances - looks a lot healthier than it really is. I sold quite a few players this season for decent money. Was losing money every month, my crowds are just far too low. My wages are currently sitting at £180,000 per week, but I've got a few signings coming in in the summer that will push it near to £230,000. Going to lose a lot of cash next season barring a miracle.

Squad

GK

Quentin Beunardeau had decent season, playing behind a better defence will have helped. Been my number 1 for about 5 seasons now, been a good player for us.

Defence

Thorgan Lienard found himself out the team, has been a mainstay for our climb up the leagues, still has a future with the club, but the quality of the centre backs I brought in meant he didn't feature much.

Ryan Ryder - squad player, didn't feature much, but is a good cheap option when I've got injuries.

Nathaniel Chalobah was brought in from Chelsea, played him as a ball playing CB with duty of cover, did well, was an ever present in the league, good player, hoping his stats will improve slightly in the next few seasons to become a top player.

Nassim Wolf was brought in on loan from Benfica. Did well, would ideally like to sign him, but already got one big transfer this summer, couldn't afford the 3-4m it would cost. But really pleased with his contribution. His long throw ins were alwasy a danger too.

Juan was brought in from Inter, and he did well. Initially found himself reserve choice, due to the impressive form of Pep Morillo, but when Marseille took him for £7m, Juan stepped in to partner Chalobah, and they were solid.

Dalibor Ladic has been solid for 2-3 seasons for me now, so I rewarded him with a new contract of 10k per week. Still gets booked way too often (14, yes 14, yellow cards this season).

Andrew O'Neill was brought in from Toronto on a bosman in January. Has 4.5 potential, going to give him more first team action in the coming season. Did well when called upon though.

Midfield

Morgan Scheiderlin was brought in from relegated Lille in the summer. Did ok, got a few goals here and there, was steady.

Federico Oliva was brought in on loan from AC Milan, he didn't feature much to be honest, no better than what I had already, just wanted to boost my numbers.

Dominique Abidoun should probably be performing slightly better given his stats. Coaches say his best position is wide right, which we don't play in our system, so as a centre mid he's solid but unspectactular. Still good player to have in squad.

Lewis More had a good first season, good number of assists, got the odd goal, and made his Scotland debut. Got high hopes for this kid.

Rouven Weymeher - young German defensive mid, got great potential, gave him a run end of season and he didn't let me down, could be a good player for years to come.

Christer Westrum is another German youngster, good potential, didn't feature too much, but like Wehmeyer, I hope he can progress into a first team regular for me in years to come.

Dominique Abiola- decent season, more competiton this season with the form of Lewis More, so no longer an automatic pick. But he's listed as an icon of the club, fans love him, so do I.

Darko Borozan - one for the future. Featured in a few matches, started him a couple of times when Abidoun and Abioula were on International duty, he looks like he'll have a bright future, hopefully with me.

Attack

Mondor Kessou was the suprise of the season, he's been a sub mainly in his time with us, but he really stepped up this season when given the chance and has established himself as a big part of my plans moving forward.

Dramane Koffi -only including him here out of loyalty, been with us a long time, but didn't do much this season, no really just a back up player, but been with us since the National so I feel loyal to his service!

David Harte was brought in on loan when Diagne went to African Nations. Didn't do much to earn his 8k per week. Would've been better sticking with squad I had. I got seduced by his stats but he didn't do much.

Alvar Agbessi - mainly a bench player this year, still has 4 star potential according to coaches, and his stats look promising, but he's done next to nothing in the past 2 seasons. I tried loaning him out but no-one would take him who played at any decent level, so he played for reserves all year.

Emilio Nocera did ok, again, sufferred a few injuries that robbed him of a consistent run in the team, still hoping he can do good things next year.

Mohammed Diagne had a fine start to season, but is currently stuck in a 15 hour goal drought. He's still got the stats of a top player, and has model professional as his description, so definitely a good man to have around the club.

Rui Silva - done ok when fit, too many injuries this season, he'd be back a few weeks then be out again. But got a few goals and I'm hoping for more next season

Samuel Preston - disappointing season considering his stats. Was expecting better things, he'll hopefully deliver next year. Had a few injuries so I'll give him benefit of the doubt.

Youth prospects

Jimmy Donaldson came in over a year ago through our youth teams. Goes between 3-4 star potential, I just don't see it. His natural fitness is too low, and there's no stats that jump out and say he'll be a 3 or 4 star left back. He's 6ft 6 inches, so I'd think he'd make a better centre half, but his heading isn't that great. Don't know what to do with him, if any of you have any tips I'd like to hear them! Brought him off the bench, and I'm going to bite the bullet and make him my 2nd choice left back this year as an experiment, see how he does with exposure to 1st team football. He's nowhere near ready, but I want to try it to see how he handles it. Pele was 17 when he won World Cup, so I'm going to give it a shot! Got him tutored by Juan at the minute, hoping he'll pick his stats up soon, my 1st choice left back Dalibor Ladic likes a booking, so he's suspended quite a bit, so he'll get his chance this year. Watch this space...

Ludovic Barbier - 2 star keeper, will be backup at best, if he ever reaches potential. He's the best prospect I got through this season. Rubbish.

Next Season

Always aiming to improve, so hoping for a 5th place finish, going to be tough, the other clubs are outspending me by millions, and I've still quite a young squad. The big 3 (PSG, Marseille, Lyon) are out of sight at top of table, so the Champions League places are out of reach for a while, but outside of that, I don't fear anyone, if we have a good season, top 5 could be possible.

Would also like to reach another cup final.

Got these players lined up to come in.

Lubos Matta- spent 6m to get him in from Slovan Bratislava, looks a cracking striker, could be the jewel in the crown, hoping for a 1st season 20 goal return. Will hopefully bring out the best in Diagne and Preston etc, give them a kick up the backside cos this guy will start my first choice striker. Would have got him in Jan but he failed a medical, so lined it up for summer.

Ali Jellasi from Rennes, looks class for one so young.

Stanislav Kostov - looks good technically, I'm not impressed by the 1 in positioning right enough! But he'll give me more options up front/in attacking midfield if I play the diamond.

Oneill Tatlot is an attacking mid with great looking stats coming from Marseille. Hoping he could also play at the tip of the diamond if/when I play it. He looks to have great potential.

Raul Gil - coming from Barca, looks to have a bright future, will give me more options in midfield where I was a bit stagnant this season

Season Objectives

Consolidate with another top 10 finish - success. Pushed on to 6th place, pleased I didn't suffer "2nd season syndrome".

Concede less goals- success. Juan and Chalobah were solid, Morillo was great before he left for Marseille, look a far better team defensively.

Mooping - Great stuff, your players already look like they could do a good job at the top level so survival should be easy enough. Good luck anyway.

aldojags - Your team is rapidly becoming fantastic. It might be worth giving Donaldson some appearances when you're winning by a few goals. If he swims then you have a homegrown prospect on your hands, if he sinks your initial suspicions will have been proven right. Win-win situation.

romanista-yeh thats the plan. Obviously I hope he handles it, but I can't see where the coaches are getting their predictions. The team is coming on, but long term- I'm struggling to see how I'll over haul the top 3.

Ali Jellasi has just arrived from Rennes, and he's got wonderkid status, superb!

Edited to add - I don't really understand the co-efficients, PSG won the Champions League last season, and yet France still remain 6th in the ranks, with Russia in 5th, whose teams haven't really done very much in Europe from what I can tell. Very strange.

Romanista1994 - well done on survival and solidly so. Good foundations to build on.

LLR - I also have made a conscious decision to have a fuller U19 team this season. If they don’t make the grade then might make a few pennies for them…

Moonpig - that’s it!! Dominated the league there, I am sure you’ll perform well next season.

Aldojags - unlucky missing out on Europe but that’s a good season nonetheless. Sure you’ll make it next season.

I think my decision is going to result in the aim being a squad of 44 players all up with at least 22 under 19s, part of it being the aim for homegrown players, but also wanting to have that cover for injuries, I ran out of defenders in november with suspension, internationals and injuries...

yeah my thinking relates to the homegrown requirements of european football... not getting enough quality through the acadamy so need to beef it up a bit.

As for Die Waldhof-Buben, the season has been completed. will try and get a review up in the next few days.

A nice season there 18Rabbbit, its always good to be able to solidify in mid-table and prepare for a push forwards. I really like how evenly the attributes are spread on Pirgov, what are your coaches saying about him? Will he be able to grow with the club into a top keeper at Serie A level?

Easily I think. Sorted by potential he's the top of the list on my squad and last year at the mid-season break A.C. Milan made several offers to co-own him (till I set the asking price at 10M so they'd bugger off). I'm actually more worried about the board selling him out from under me but I figure I can hang on to him for a couple more years and hopefully he can get us into Serie A.

18Rabbit - Good first season in Serie B. How much are you making from gate receipts with your huge stadium?

We made 3.1M in gate receipts last season and 1M in season tickets. I think our average attendance was around 9.1k per game last season (usually about 6th on overall attendance) but it's really nice being able to pack in >20k fans for the big matches. We're getting the field relayed right now so it'll be all nice and shiny for this year.

So we get similar amounts of money for season tickets, but the size of your stadium really helps with gate receipts (I only got 600k from that). Mine will probably not be improved anytime soon as the chairman is now only 'happy to stay' and has rejected all of my recent requests. I guess I'll have to wait until someone new comes in to build the club up further. The only thing I will avoid, however, is relaying the pitch. I want Lasesarre to be a nightmare for visiting teams, with mud flying all over the place on the 90m by 55m pitch and hard-tackling, energetic Basque beasts closing the opposition down for ninety minutes.

General News

Financially we have recovered once again, and now we are looking forward to the money that will come with European participation. During the season we managed to get our new stadium, which we sold out 11 times in 19 games, we managed to upgrade Youth Facilities, Youth Recruitment & Junior Coaching. We have currently planned Training & Youth Facility upgrades due to complete in October, so we are hoping to continue building the club and our Chairman likes to make the club better as well.

The League

Well again we lost our first game of the season, but that was not a sign of relegation coming. Somehow we managed to perform some miracles all season long, at home we were incredible, through the 1st half of the season we went 9-1-0 at home, and 2-0-7 away, a slight turn around away in the second half was matched by a slip-up in April at home, we lost 3 games at home in April to end the season with a 13-3-3 home record & 6-3-10 away from home going 4-2-3 & 4-3-3 in the second half. I was hugely impressed with the players effort in the league this season, and it was incredible to see wins over both Barcelona & Real Madrid in only our second season facing them. Valencia & Almeria are the only teams we failed to beat this season as they both defeated us in April at Parla Stadium.

Best Results: vs Barcelona 2:1, vs Real Madrid 4:1, at At. Madrid 3:2

The Players

Squad Stats

Key Stars

Bold: Starter, Italic: Youngster

Goalies

GK: Pablo Re (ARG) - The only keeper I needed this season, he is not amazing, and will probably be replaced by someone better in the off season, but clearly was good enough to help us into a top 5 slot this season.

Defenders

DC: David Sedlacek (CZE) - The central point of our defence, Sedlacek led the way all season, he managed to assist up front with a few goals. Generally though his clearance off the line and tackling was the mainstay of all our games. He also ended the season as the only member of our squad to make the starting XI of the team of the year.

DRC: Paulinho (BRA) - He had a bit of a temperamental season, he never really settled into the role, though he was clearly the second best and managed to make it on the reserve bench of the team of the year. I was happy enough with him, but the defenders need some work in the offseason.

DL: Zednek Moravec (CZE) - The youngster continues to improve and hopefully will step it up as we head into the Europa league.

DR: Aaron Garner (ENG) - I had signed him in the last offseason hoping he would be the complete answer for my right back issues, but he never achieved it much early on. I ended up having words with him, and he seemed to buck up his ideas after that. Made a bit of a change and I never looked back.

DC: Juan Carlos Sanchez (MEX) - This guy was quite a signing, he is currently third on my central defender depth chart, and I have no idea where he ends up in the new season with more signings. He did well when he was in the team with a good rating over 7.

Midfielders

MC: Bife (BRA) - A pretty good season from my young central midfielder, he did brilliantly and led the team at free kicks, he also managed to feed some good balls through to the attack, he did need a couple of rests during the season as he started to get jaded. If Bife can continue to improve season on season as he gets older we have a superstar on our books.

MC: Sammy Ogweno (FRA) - He replaced Yildirim and showed that the more defensive midfield role could actually show some good average ratings, he was good on the tackle and then spreading the ball forward to the others.

AMR: Ondrej Linhart (CZE) - What a season, it seems that my right wing is going to be a stellar position, I signed Linhart as a possible starter. Ferrari was having issues, so in stepped Linhart and I never once looked back as he rattled off 9 goals and 12 assists through the season, he really is going to be the next Rosicky

AMC: Pal Antal (SRB) - I thought it would take a season or two before he overtook Arregi for the attacking midfield role, but after a very short time he was stepping up and he showed he is very capable, even with media pressure as he scored 4 goals and assisted on another 7.

AML: Mario Bumbera (SVK) - Our current strongest left wing, I am looking for other options though. He did manage 15 assists, and that is a very good sign, but I am just not sure if he is actually the future of the club and good enough for this level.

MC: Ercan Yildirim (TUR) - I was a bit disappointed with him this season, I thought early on that it was just because the position he was playing for the side was never going to get good ratings, but I dropped Ogweno in and he excelled, this saw Yildirim drop to the bench as cover through the midfield.

AMC: Javier Arregi (ESP) - He was solid, but really this season was about him training his replacement. I had Antal join in January and Arregi did some good training and also ended up slipping out of the starting line-up. Not sure what my Vice-captain will be up to next season.

MC: Oumar N'Dao (FRA) - Next down the line, if someone falls over he will step in, but is really just cover across the board.

Strikers

ST: Jesus Montiquin (ARG) - Another excellent season from the Striker, he is now only 4 goals short of 50 for the club. I was delighted to see him able to keep stepping up, he did have a couple of dry spells, but was always able to overcome them and keep scoring, and it led him to the team of the year.

ST: Thabang Radebe (RSA) - Currently my back-up striker, but he is quickly closing on Montiquin, not sure what I will do when I decide that Radebe is needing first team football. I want him to develop as the potential is soo much greater, just not sure I want to risk the loss of goalscoring we have already.

The Future

In Brief

Predicted: 15th

My League Aim: Europe Qualification

Expectations: Mid Table

Transfer Budget: €7.54M

Wage Budget: €190k

Wages at 01.07.22: €144,740

Future Signings: Jose Freitas (ST,Leixoes,€110k), Jonas Johannsen (DL,Lyngby,Free), John Kieffer (ML,Standard,€2M), Mikhail Lapin (ST,Spartak Moscow,€3M), Soren Ostergaard (DR,Nordsjaelland,Free), Liam Parry (DC,Man Utd,Free), Perninha (GK,Gremio,€250k), Christophe Legendre (AMC,Free), Darren Thidiela (MC,€300k)

Basically made so many signings because I wanted to get a large number of young prospects in, spent a bit more than I expected, but eight possible superstars have joined the club, and between them they cover All my clubs major issues, I am still looking for another central midfielder and possibly a right winger, but there are plenty of prospects out there.

Teams Relegated: Osasuna, Malaga, Celta

Teams Promoted: Gimnastic, Las Palmas, Leganes

The Start of the season will be the difficult bit: Espanyol, Real Madrid, At.Madrid & Athletic, in the middle the game before this run is Barcelona (Also my final game).

My Aims for 2022/23

1) Qualify for Europe

2) Get through Europa Group Stage

3) Concede Less Goals (<63)

In the new season I also want to celebrate the 50th year of AD Parla in some way, would be great to gain a trophy, but not sure which one is even possible. The start of the season has seen Tiny climb into the Legends list alongside Herlein who left again as he refused to sign a cheaper contract.

The only thing I will avoid, however, is relaying the pitch. I want Lasesarre to be a nightmare for visiting teams, with mud flying all over the place on the 90m by 55m pitch and hard-tackling, energetic Basque beasts closing the opposition down for ninety minutes.

This made me laugh out loud, nice one mate

Excellent season LLR, is your happiness at your great season tinged with disappointment at how close you were to Champions League?

I've started season well, with 3 wins out of 3, with away wins at both Bordeux and Lyon. New signings have gelled well so quickly, there's some real quality players who can't get on the bench let alone the team, so I'm really wanting European qualification this year.

The young left back I mentioned earlier in the thread, Donaldson, my youth coach has came to me saying his development has stalled due to needing a new challenge? Do you think I should loan him out? I'm worried I loan him out and he doesn't play, he's still only 16, be 17 very shortly. I still plan to give him some game time when possible, but the "needing a new challenge" thing with the coach has worried me, don't know what to do.

Anyone had experience of this?

Yeah there was a little disappointment there, but given victories over the top teams, I am reasonably happy. Really it was over when I lost to Espanyol, and from that point my battle was always going to be to qualify top for the Europa League. With the refreshing of my team and strength of my young squad I think I can push on from here.

As for the needing a new challenge I am not sure as I have never had it, I would think about loaning him out. If you have a feeder club one level below you that might be the best option.

LLR - good season there - looking forward to seeing you compete in Europe next season. some good signings there for the future too.

aldojags - not seen that one either. i would see if i could get him a loan move where he'd get some football. as you say there is no point sending him somewhere else where he won't play.

I've just held onto him for now and giving him some game time when I can. Do you guys have issues with PA moving around quite a bit. Donaldson came through the system with PA of 3 stars. Now he's at 4 (not complaining!)

Likewise, signed a 2 star keeper last intake, just looked at him, he's now 3.5, again not complaining! Is this because I've got 4-4.5 coaching in everything? My facilities are still crap but getting them upgraded, but I never knew players potential could improve so much.

Another issue I have. Really annoying me. My scouts, when I go to review their reports in my scouting page to see what players they've found, although for example it will say they've found 334 players in central europe, i click on the report, and a lot of the time there's no players listed. Really annoying me. got 14 scouts im paying and i can;t look at any players they find!

Glad you liked it. :D

The wanting a new challenge seems very strange for a youngster, does it say that in his profile as well or is it just the coach? It might be that he feels he has outgrown the youth team and needs first team football, either with you or on loan.

LLR - Good luck in the Europa League next season, hopoe you can repeat the performance in the league as well.

Do you guys have issues with PA moving around quite a bit.

Their potential is always the same, it gets a rating up to 200 and stays at that for a player's career (I heard that some injuries can lower it though). The star rating is just how good your coaches/scouts think the player could become in the future, it's not necessarily accurate. Coaches with a better 'Rating Player Potential' attribute will obviously be more better at this, but even they can be way off.
