wp Sebs on the call about going to Lewes' date=' parked up there for a couple of quid and a decent pub by the train station. What I will say though, is Lewes is full of posh ****s. If I end up in a Village like that in my life I hope someone will murder me. Can't stand those posh English towns.

On the AMEX though, what does everyone think? On the outside great, unique etc, but the stands were built with no idea whatsoever. One stand for corporate, then three stands that are tiny, have no ability to make any noise and the gradient of the rows were dreadful. It looked like they had flat packed the stands from the Withdean and shipped them in for the 3 stands around the ground. You can clearly see that stadium was built with no fan input when the atmosphere was negligible. The best part of the ground was that they were selling beer in the ground [i']after[/i] the game. Yes, I am easily amused.

no problem pal. i didn't do it myself but i'd heard rumours of forest fans doing it plus with the trains going the other way to the majority you should be able to get to/from the ground without many problems.

this is why we need a championship ground guide next season (sorry bbc)

i liked the amex, only just managed to get in before kick off though and i swear i could have walked in without a ticket, they couldn't cope with the amount of fans we took there.

A tale of too soft penalties yesterday.

We started well and played some really good stuff for about 25 minutes, but then we were flat and finished the game very poorly.. a glimpse of life without Rodriguez in that 2nd half... doesn't look good.

Wilf Zaha was funny, getting involved with the Burnley fans (gesturing, mouthing, and hand movements etc)... I think the crowd got to him. You could see one of his own team mates telling him not to get involved and to calm down, not long before he got sent off. :D

You going to the FA youth cup tie against Rovers, Barker? Quite looking forward to it, tbh. :D

Yeah I think so, a couple of friends asked me on Friday night.

Apparently 400 are going so far... and police have already got escorts for the Coaches for the Youth game.

Hopefully we will beat them over the 2 legs, love to knock them out... and then win the final. :D

So we've apparently signed Henderson, 400k loan fee with a 1.2m permanent fee. Any opinions from the Pompey fans would be appreciated

Good keeper, bright future. Really rated him, was behind Ashdown for the first few games but won the number 1 spot and never looked back. Good shot stopper, and kicker.

Absolutely brilliant. Future Ireland No.1. Shot stopping was fantastic, communicates really well, he is still young so may drop the ball from a cross a few times etc, but as a prospect he's brilliant. Genuinely devastated he went tbh, now we're stuck with Ashclown. :(

I'm impressed with how solid we look at the back now. I used to fear for us every time the ball came in our half, but today we never really looked like conceding. Very happy with Warnock so far  Still not entirely sure why he wants White on the right. He played well today but Snodgrass is more dangerous cutting in from there, whereas White doesn't really do that so much and his game is all about pace, so it would make sense to have him on the left, bursting past the defender and whipping in a cross. Oh well.

would deeply like to thanks the leeds fans who thought it would be clever to throw coins up into the home fans section today, it caused a stir, then the bottled and hot drinks well that kinda tipped it off. Sad to see the boro fans doing the same, but that seemed to happen only after a kid was hit smack bang in the face by a coin, then anouther was hit with a hot drink.

on the field leeds were not even made to work hard :thdn:

They turned him down after a trial.

Yeah last I heard he was set to complete a move.

But

Sam Magri is back at Pompey after Michael Appleton admitted the youngster’s move to Liverpool is set to break down.

The highly-rated defender was lined up for a switch to Anfield, having impressed on a trial last week.

But it is believed the Merseysiders have not been able to agree a fee for the 17-year-old Academy prospect.

There is still a chance of Magri leaving Fratton Park, though, with the likes of Stoke also keen on the England under-17 international.

Southampton's club spokesman (on his personal account) has annoyed the Official Portsmouth Twitter feed...

https://twitter.com/#!/officialpompey

War of words now going on!

:D

Although it is a private account, it is still a little unprofessional but Mr Sibley has a point, should a club that has failed to pay local charities, schools, local businesses, taxes etc be nominated for "community club of the year"?

Would have been far worse if he did it on the official Saints Twitter account rather than his own.

Oh, and bitter about what exactly? He was just pointing out the absurdity of the nomination, which to be honest I agree with him about. Might have been wise not to broadcast it, I guess he's had a few drinks.

Thought the family club award was given for helping attract fans of the future?

What has that got to do with us not paying people, admittedly it doesn't reflect well on us but it has nothing to do with the award.

Pompey were also nominated for "community club of the year". Not paying local charities, local businesses, local schools and not paying £40m worth of taxes doesn't exactly help the community does it? Yes, after school clubs and workshops are good, but that has to be countered against all the bad the club has done locally. Many local businesses have suffered as a result of the club.

He is a Yeovil Town fan, so I doubt he cares massively about the rivalry (especially when compared to you or I). He just made a passing comment on the absurdity of the nomination. His comments have been blown out of all proportion by some Pompey fans and Portsmouth's official twitter, what he actually says isn't actually that bad. Pompey have taken it a step further by passing official comment on what an individual said on his own account.

No, he dismissed a lot of peoples hard works in a pathetic attempt to be funny and give idiots like you the chance to take the moral high ground over us. He made the point about us winning the family club of the year not being nominated for community club of the year despite so stop trying to save face over this.

What's more amusing is if one of our officials made a comment you would be screaming how unprofessional it was, it's quite embarrassing how smug everyone connected with Southampton are over our situation.

Now run along to your message board and come up with some synchronised waving and a new chant to celebrate.

Well if this is what that award is for...

the family club award was given for helping attract fans of the future

Then he also has a point there. What exactly have Pompey achieved in this category more so than any of the other 71 Football League clubs?

What's more amusing is if one of our officials made a comment you would be screaming how unprofessional it was, it's quite embarrassing how smug everyone connected with Southampton are over our situation.

It would certainly be extremely unprofessional if he put it as an official view of the club. Possibly even edging on sackable or at least a warning. However it was not and as the view of a private individual that was just expressing what many also think in an attempt at humour. Instead it was the official Pompey twitter feed that retweeted it and passed comment. That isn't exactly professional is it?

pompey triumph at football league awards

by johnny moore

despite a disappointing defeat at brighton on saturday, pompey still managed to triumph at the weekend.

The blues were named tokio marine family club of the year at the 2012 football league awards in london.

Pompey were praised for family specific ticket offers and initiatives like ‘kidzone’ and a ‘junior blues sleep over’ on the pitch.

The club beat off stiff competition from cardiff, dagenham & redbridge, huddersfield, swindon and tranmere to get the judges’ vote.

Pompey were also named community club of the year for the south west region, but lost out to rotherham for the national prize.

Not sure we should be promoting the idea of a "Junior Blues Sleep Over".. sounds a bit rapey. :thdn:

I really hope he doesn't go to Burnley. :( Think the lad could make a real difference for us next season

Ohhh, so we could be signing a young apprentice of the year.

Don't worry, we'll look after him for you. ;)

If he does join us, he should fit right in with our young squad.

I'd feel for Coventry though, if they lose another one of their better players.

Carl Baker now out for 5 weeks ffs. Guy is infuriatingly inconsistent but we really are down to the bare bones again atm. Our current list of fit senior pro's reads as:

2 GK

2 CB

2 CM

1 WM/AM

2 ST

Even adding in the inexperienced youngsters who are regulars in the squad only give us a total of 16 players (2 RB's, 1 CB, 3 CM's and 1 ST). Just so few bloody attacking options and a serious lack of fit left footed players :(

We couldn't loan anyone in though because we are under transfer embargo

i miss earnie :( and raddy

I know how you feel(!) I miss our team of 2 years a go too!

Similar to Forest, even though it never quite got promoted, it was such an exciting team as it was actually up there challenging and it felt like a mini resurrection and finally an exciting side to follow after years of struggling at the foot of the Championship and in League One.

I miss Bruno :( and Hobbs :( and Morrison :(.
