Foreign Teams in National Leagues

Just a crazy question - is it possible to creatie foreign teams in national leagues? For example, Etoile FC is a French team, which is playing in the Singapoure league, so I was wondering, if there's a way to recreate something like that or is that an unique example?

I haven't tried that. Although some people have had success placing a reserves team in another nation. Another was able to produce ethnic names by assigning a city a local region of another nation.

Well, there's Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham and Newport all playing in the English leagues.

You can have foreign clubs in a league. They have to have the same nationality of the league they're in, but if their city is set as one from another nation, they will get newgens of that nationality. So while Cardiff City are set as an English club, because they are based in Cardiff, they get Welsh newgens. This can be replicated in the editor with other clubs/leagues.

Performed a quick test:

- A foreign nation team, even a reserve team, will not enter into international club competition (Champions League, EURO Cup)

- A foreign nation team's reserve team can be placed in another nation's league.

- A city's language or their local region defines the regen's name file. (So if you want a team to have English players with Bangladeshi names then assign them a new English city with the language Bangla or a local region in the nation Bangladesh)

- A city's nation defines the regen's nationality. (If you want a Welsh team in England assign them a city in Wales)

Also it would seem that a team's stadium location has no effect on its regens. For example, a team based in an Italian city but their stadium in England or Russia, will always produce Italian regens. The only way to effect on regens is to manipulate the team's city.
