2012/3 - Newcastle Town (Northern Premier League Premier Division)

It's going places we've never been before

Board: Fight bravely against relegation

Media: 21st

Bookies: 16-1

Season tickets: 93 (up 1)

A good league start where we don't lose in the first six games gets overshadowed by an embarrasing exit in the FA Cup. This starts a struggle for goals and results.

Through Winter the struggle continues and we're deep in the relegation fight.

In mid January I am offered a contract extension for a further year and wages of £275 per week (up £25). I sign and this sparks an upturn in form including two important wins at Vauxhall and Kendal.

The final third of the season is a battle but battle we did as we manage to stay up with one game to spare.

Only 3 Seasons completed ? Come on Nobster, get working.

I work. I play golf. I have a girlfriend (for the past four months). Football Manager isn't played as much as when I was a kid.

I'm considering a charity bike ride in September as well, so will be playing even less over the Summer.

Golf is one of those games noone cares about unless/until you play it. I'm still in the former camp, but could see myself picking it up one day when my knees are too shot for 5-a-side.

My girlfriend is pretty fantastic about me playing FM to be honest, if she's watching rubbish TV then she's happy for me to play it rather than suffering in silence. Plus if there's football on she'll go out to the gym, so I can sit here in my pants watching football, playing FM, and drinking beer - plus I get a fitter girlfriend :D

Yeh I was at the game last season and security told me I had to buy a ticket for Scruffy otherwise he couldnt come in. They said the Jerkwad manager had been tightening purse strings and they didnt even get health benefits anymore. And get THIS!? I now have to pay for my parrot Polly to come to the football as well.

Its an outrage I tell you!

Well, if you would admit that the parrot is dead, deceased, berift of life, you know, an ex-parrot, all would be fine. ;)

Thank you Monkey. Glad you enjoy it.

Relating to Liverpool... Rafa Benitez is their manager again!

Scout finds a player who is a former Icelandic under 21 international and has spent four seasons at Liverpool and not broke into the first team before being released. He looks like he will be a quality player for me.

I find he is willing to negotiate and pay an absolute fortune (for this level) in wages so he signs.

He plays cack and I question if he even knows what a goal is, never mind how he scores one.

Then he does this.

The first time I've ever seen a 10 given since the ratings went decimal. :)
