SI had set Queen's Park to own Hampden (which is correct) but not that they don't pay the maintenance on the ground (the Scottish FA do). Hence, in the game the amateur club had to pay out millions a year in ground maintenance, couldn't keep up with it and Hampden Park ended up being about 4000 in capacity after 20 or so years.
