Of course I had to have a home loss otherwise the world would collapse in on itself due to imbalance
hrbfcrule
October 2026 League: Djurgarden 0-1 Tord A shock win to complete the double over them. Peter Jansson (YP33) gave us an early lead which could have been cancelled out had Djurgarden not missed their penalty a few mins later. It was a match of few chances as we defended our slender lead for our 3rd away win of the season. League: Tord 1-0 Malmo FF Another impressive win against 2nd place. Simon Berisha (YP31) got the early goal which we then hung on to for dear life for 70 mins to claim the victory. League: Halmstad 1-1 Tord Absolutely destroyed them but our finishing was below par today. Peter Jansson (YP33) again giving us an early lead which Halmstad levelled in 1st half injury time. hrbfcrule
November 2026 League: Tord 0-2 Mjallby A tough fixture against the current champions. Our home form has been pretty good all season but we were not good enough to overcome them. League: Hammarby Fotboll 3-1 Tord Sad news came before this game, both Anton Alvefelt (YP1) and Johan Heinonen have decided they are going to retire at the end of the season :(. Between them they have amassed over 600 league appearances for Tord. Because of this I played them both in this match as a final send off. It didn't go to plan but oh well. Hammarby destroyed us in the 1st half notching up a 2 goal lead by half time. Then on the hour mark Viktor Johansson (YP40) scored to get us back in the game and break an incredible streak, I mean it's so bad it's bordering on impressive. Hammarby scored a 3rd quickly after our goal to end all hopes of a comeback.

Taunton
Yeah. Great season. You are unlucky to the extreme with the cupruns. Hoping it will improve, because that could be a short-cut out to european football. Looking forward to the next update.
hrbfcrule
End of Season Report: IK Tord Swedish Premier Division 2026 League Table, League Graph Squad We had a slow start but eventually we got rolling. We were never in danger of relegation but also never looked like challenging the top half. Our home form was our saviour this season, we picked up 28 points from our 15 home games and only lost 3 times. Another thing I noticed was that we seem to be able to score more freely now than a couple of seasons ago. We managed 34 league goals this season compared to just 20 in our 1st season in the top flight, a huge improvement. Swedish Cup We finally won a game which meant we had finally got past the 3rd round for the 1st time in 8 years. We beat Hammarby TFF 1-0 away and should have beaten Rosengard as well in the next round but I shocking display saw us lose on penalties. Maybe 2 cup wins in a season was too much to ask for. Retiring Players Anton Alvefelt (YP1) - Career Stats Played a handful of games this season but still got a couple of assists including one in his final game which is nice. So the 1st ever youth player retires making 287 league appearances over 17 seasons scoring just once with 13 assists. Future Staff Role: despite his poor stats I have signed him on as a coach purely because of his years of service to the club. Johan Heinonen - Career Stats The last player who wasn't technically a youth player, he started the game in the 1st team yet has proven he can play in all 4 divisions. He made 329 league appearances for Tord over 17 seasons scoring 25 and creating another 23. Future Staff Role: He was already on a player/coach contract but will now be just a coach at the club. Has very good staff stats as well. Youth Players (At the Club) Tony Thoren (YP5) - Had a much better season but with his stats declining surely there's not long left for him. Filip Linder (YP6) - Has now been beaten by Niclas Svensson (YP38) for the number 1 spot. Did get a few games while he was international duty though. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) - Couldn't replicate last year's form but I didn't really expect him to. A measly 2 goals this season in his 20 odd appearances. Stefan Nilsson (YP13) - Still seems to be as reliable as ever despite his increasing age. Anders Svensson (YP16) - A fantastic season for the centre back as he also nets 5 goals, all from set pieces. Anders Axelsson (YP20) - Highlight of his season was scoring apart from that he didn't do much else. Jonas Andersson (YP27) - Doesn't play half the games but performs well in the ones he does play in. 3 goals and 2 assists in 16 games. Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) - He's stepped up to the mark this season, a great season for him in which he also set up 4 goals. Anton Dahlberg (YP30) - Didn't play too much this season but like Jonas Andersson (YP27) he was reliable when called upon. Simon Berisha (YP31) - Didn't reach the heights of last season but nonetheless some impressive stuff from the midfielder. Peter Jansson (YP33) - Has finally shown he could have what it takes to replace Fredrik Karlsson (YP8). 8 goals in 30 games but he is still 2 stars off his potential apparently. Matthias Gustafsson (YP34) - Didn't play too much as we have an abundance of decent midfielders. Hakan Larsson (YP35) - One of the players keeping Matthias Gustafsson (YP34) out the team and you can see why. Daniel Ung (YP36) - Will be leaving at the end of next season if not sooner. Jorgen Melki (YP37) - According to my assistant he is the best player at the club. His performances aren't that good in my opinion but at only 21 they can only improve. Niklas Svensson (YP38) - Has now replaced Filip Linder (YP6) as first choice, conceded 35 in 30 with 8 clean sheets but with those stats I am sure he is capable of better. Niclas Carlsson (YP39) - Not a great season for him but he is still quite young. Has to improve quickly as there are quite a few players waiting for their chance in the 1st team. Viktor Johansson (YP40) - Ended his 31 HOUR goal drought this season with his goal against Hammarby in the final game of the season. I will keep him for a few more seasons but it doesn't look like he is good enough for the Premier Division Erik Carlsson (YP41) - A slow improver but he is getting better, I really hope he makes it as his stats are pretty decent. Jon Tornros (YP42) - Didn't play at all and will be gone at the end of next season if not sooner. Martin Hansson (YP43) - Played a decent amount of games but needs to play better if he wants to secure a spot in the 1st team. Despite an average season he still won Rookie of the Year Joakim Dahlberg (YP44) - Will probably be 2nd choice when Filip Linder (YP6) retires. Not too much chance of getting a game before then. Magnus Kjellman (YP45) - Played quite a lot of games considering it was his debut season, can only be a good thing in the long run. Rasmus Svard (YP46) - Only 3 appaearnces for him but he did get his 1st goal for the club. Finances - Over £250k profit last season. Board won't allow another another youth upgrade just yet. I have now applied for the Sweden U19 job but haven't heard back from them as of yet. I thought my best bet for Europe would be in the cup as well but this season I was surprised to see us just 7 points of European qualification in the league. Romanista1994
Good season again. How much is the club worth now? hrbfcrule
Good season again. How much is the club worth now? You have a healthy bank balance and the facilities have been upgraded so it must have increased quite a lot from the 45k it started off at. Oh, and also, just two more years before the loan repayments end. The club is now worth £1.7M making it the 10th most expensive club in Sweden. I have been counting down the days 'til we finally finish paying back the loan And in France there is Lyon and only Lyon. Wonder how long they will keep their dominance. Maybe not for too long it seems they finally have a challenger, Monaco are 1 point ahead of them at the halfway stage of the 2026/27 season. Normally Lyon are at least 5 points clear by this stage. out of interest who is the highest payed player? nice season so far, KUTGW Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) is Tord's highest payed player he is on £875/week followed by Stefan Nilsson (YP13) who is on £500/week. If you mean the highest payed player in the game then I think it is Mariano Ceballos who is an Argentinian regen playing for Barcelona who is on £220,000/week
hrbfcrule
Couple of months after applying for it this popped up: My 1st game is against Azerbaijan on the 8th Feb (literally the day after I got offered the job). Therefore I haven't had a chance to change the squad so no Tord players will feature. But don't worry there will be bias when I pick the squad for the upcoming Euro U19 2nd Qual Round Group 3 matches against Germany, Switzerland and Belarus in May . I've only read a couple pages but it's been a great read and has definitely got me wanting to do a save like this! hrbfcrule
GRATZ! I know you have been after that job for a while! 31 hours is very impressive I have to say. A Heskey of Sweden? Thanks yer I have been after any of the Swedish jobs so I am glad to get one of them. He is a much less succesful version of Heskey that's for sure, I can't see him getting anywhere near the Swedish team unless I become manager Congrats on getting Sweden U19 NT job! Will you make a squad full of players from Tord youth academy? I will for some matches but unfortunately most U19 matches are not in international breaks so I don't think I can risk sending off most of players on international duty. They'll be much more needed at Tord. YEAH!!!! Way to go! Now you can just slip the gaffer some poison and magically slip into his place! I'll try although I'm happy to wait it out, at least i've got some form of international job. Congrats on all you have achieved so far! I've only read a couple pages but it's been a great read and has definitely got me wanting to do a save like this! Do you keep all your youth players that come through? or just the most promising players? And also do you sell any on if you get a good offer or if they want to leave? I only choose the top few players, it depends on how good the intake is. But I don't release the others straight away instead I leave them in the youth squad and check again next year when they could have improved quite a lot as a few of my players have done. So far I've only sold a player on my terms but I have lost a few that I would have liked to keep from their contract running out. There are a few who continuously ask to leave but I keep persuading them not to. I don't think any team has made an offer for one of my players without me actively trying to sell that player but that could all change as the big Swedish clubs are sniffing around Jorgen Melki (YP37)

Branwell Brontë
This is one of the best careers on here. I'm always put off managing in countries like Sweden because I don't know any of the players and can't relate to them in my head, with faces and playing styles... but then when you manage to keep a game like this going for as long as this, it picks up its own momentum and I suppose you do become attached to the club and even reading about it, I'm becoming a bit of a Tord fan. Have you ever thought of contacting Tord and telling the club of your long term adventure with them in this game? They might invite you over to a match or something and you get in the local paper! Esben Knudsen
strange how Lyon have not made the French cup final in over a decade despite their dominance in the league. That's because of a bug in 11.2. It does not allow the pro teams to be in the cup. Should be fixed in 11.3.
hrbfcrule
that left back could be quite good, give him a few years I reckon, he's certainly got good mental stats! I hope so we need a decent left back as Anton Alvefelt (YP1) has now retired. I don't have high hopes for (YP48) though. Thanks. I understand your point about not choosing a country due to not knowing enough about it but after a few seasons I become really attached to a club and certain players. The only background knowledge I had of Sweden before this save was the names of a few of their clubs (eg Malmo, AIK, Djurgarden). I have never thought of contacting Tord because to be honest I don't think they'll care besides they may not even understand me as I can't speak Swedish. It would be funny if they did invite me over for something like that but it's highly unlikely great work & impressive perseverance.strange how Lyon have not made the French cup final in over a decade despite their dominance in the league. As Esben Knudsen said it is a bug where I think only non league teams enter. It's a bit annoying as the winner of the French Cup gets a place in the Europa League which is kind of screwing France over a bit. But it's not a big deal and hopefully it will be fixed in the next patch.
RichG
That's because of a bug in 11.2. It does not allow the pro teams to be in the cup. Should be fixed in 11.3. Yeah I am hoping this is fixed in the next patch. I hope it works on saved games also. Kinda sucks that top teams are not winning it. Non league teams are getting into Europe as a result. Occasionally the odd team plays in it but no every season.
Utdchamp
Just noticed that Athletic won the CL. Great for them and that is probably with mostly youth products as well due to their Basque players only policy. Its a sign!
Mark Heath
Enjoying this thread immensely hrbfcrule. I love the sheer audacity of the title: "becoming the best in Europe" - looks like it will be a good decade before you will be best in Sweden let alone Europe - hopefully an improvement in finances will speed you along. I can just imagine the Swedish equivalent of Football Focus doing the occasional feature on IK Tord and their crazy policy of not buying anyone. Looking forward also to seeing how tricky it is to hang onto your players for their entire careers when the youth academy finally starts producing some genuine world class prospects. Once you're best in Europe with IK Tord, you should take over the Swedish national team and manage them to World Cup glory using only players who came through the Tord youth system. I chose the title because that's the main aim. I know it's going to take a very long time but I am sure I can do it. It's good at the moment that no one wants my players even so the better ones are asking to leave 3 or 4 times a season. It's going to be a lot more difficult when the the youth players get better. Once you're best in Europe with IK Tord, you should take over the Swedish national team and manage them to World Cup glory using only players who came through the Tord youth system. hrbfcrule
March 2027 League: Tord 0-1 Malmo FF Again we succumbed to a narrow loss against Malmo. They rode their luck throughout the match after opening the scoring in the 11th min with what was their only shot on target in the whole match. League: IFK Goteborg 1-1 Tord Our luck evens itself out the next match as we get a lucky draw against Goteborg. They went 1-0 up just before half time before Magnus Kjellman (YP45) scored from our only meaningful attack of the match
hrbfcrule
April 2027 League: Tord 4-1 Umea FC One of our best performances in the top flight. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) and Peter Jansson (YP33) both scored in the 1st half either side of an Umea goal. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) neeted again early in the 2nd half to give us breathing room before Hakan Larsson (YP35) finished them off with our 4th. League: Elfsborg 2-0 Tord We went from amazing to rubbish in a week. Elfsborg outplayed us the whole match but only had 1 goal to show for it. I went all out for a point in the last 5 mins but it backfired as Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) got a straight red and conceded a penalty in the 90th min. League: Tord 2-0 Assyriska And back to amazing again . . . maybe not quite amazing but good. Anton Dahlberg (YP30) scored a brace as we recorded a 2nd consecutive home win. League: AIK 1-0 Tord Away form seems to be a problem although this match we were incredibly unlucky not to win t let alone lose it. AIK got the winner in the 73rd min but before that we had twice hit the woodwork. Firstly Tony Thoren (YP5) from a corner then Peter Jansson (YP33) as he raced through on goal. hrbfcrule
May 2027 League: Tord 1-0 Trelleborg Peter Jansson (YP33)'s strike on 26 mins was enough for all 3 points. However we could and should have had more nevertheless another good home display. League: IK Sirius 1-0 Tord Still poor away form though, we weren't great but didn't deserve to lose in my opinion. Swedish Cup 3rd Round: Tord 1-2 Mjallby We were kindly handed a 2nd home draw in 9 years both of which have been against current Swedish champions, Mjallby. They scored an early goal which we responded well to. Peter Jansson (YP33) eventually got us the equaliser we deserved just after the hour mark. It was all for nothing though as Mjallby scored again with 15 mins remaining. League: Gefle 2-0 Tord We did well in the 1st half at keeping Gefle at bay but we let ourselves down in the 2nd half. Gefle scored twice in quick succession which we just couldn't come back from. League: Tord 3-0 Kalmar FF I just don't understand how different we play at home than away. Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) headed us the lead in the 45th min from a freekick. Then half time sub Jonas Andersson (YP27) came on to score twice to settle the tie and claim us a "historic victory." League: Helsingborg 0-0 Tord Winless in 8 away games now but i'll just take a point right now. Helsingborg were the slightly better team but both os us were rather poor. Euro U19 Championship Quals U19 2nd Qual Stage: Sweden U19's 0-1 German U19's We outplayed them in the 1st half yet still found oursleves a goal down at half time. The Germans took control of the game in the 2nd half and could have quite easily added to their lead but didn't. U19 2nd Qual Stage: Sweden U19's 1-1 Switzerland U19's Tried a change of formation for this match switching from 4-4-2 to my favoured 4-1-3-2 and it worked really well. With a bit of luck on our side we may have won this one as well. We were by far the better team but it looked to be one of those games when the Swiss scored 10 mins into the 2nd half. But Soren Ozgun equalised late in the 84th min to rescue a point. U19 2nd Qual Stage: Belarus U19's 1-1 Sweden U19's Again with a bit of luck on our side we may have won this one but it was not to be and wouldn't have helped anyway. And again we went a goal behind despite being the better team. Marcus Granqvist levelled things up just before half time but we didn't push on and get the winner in the 2nd half. That excitement lasted until I clicked "draw next team" Congrats on the u19 job, brilliant progress as always.shame about the youth products but as you & others have said after a year or so they can become better then what we first think. edit: just gotta reply to a post made by branwell bronte, about becoming a bit of a tord fan . I'm sure they have more fans now then what they first thought too Thanks, the youth intake wasn't as bad as I 1st thought: Hakan Neilsen (YP47) is now 1st choice left back and despite only being 1.5* ability he has got an average rating of almost 7 in the 15 games he has played this season. He has also moved to 4.5*potential. The other guy has been terrible though
brFM2011
At least Neilsen is performing decent hope he continues it, it will only help At Huddersfield I had a left back rated 1* & he was performing better then my 4* lb so I thought he can play every week ^^. hrbfcrule
June 2027 Friendly: Croatia U19's 3-0 Sweden U19's My 1st opportunity to be incredibly biased. I selected everyone from Tord who was eligible to play for the U19's, that was a total of 5 players all of whom were in the starting line up. That may have been the reason why we lost quite heavily to a team who are fairly similar to us. Friendly: Moldova U19's 1-1 Sweden U19's 4 started this match and they all improved although it was against Moldova. Tommy Gonzales gave us the lead in the 24th min but the 1st major impact one of my youth players had on the international scene was an own goal. Magnus Kjellman (YP45) put it into his own net early in the 2nd half to give the Moldovans the draw. League: Tord 0-1 Mjallby Did well to only lose by the one goal, were maybe unfortunate to do so but I was stillhappy with the display. League: Syrianska FC 0-2 Tord \o/ Our 1st away win of the season and it was very much deserved. Magnus Kjellman (YP45) finding the right net for his club to give us the lead 4 mins into the 2nd half. Peter Jansson (YP33) sealed the win in the 90th min. League: Tord 2-0 Djurgarden Literally 2 identical goals just at different ends of the pitch. 2 freekicks in wide positions whipped into the box where Magnus Kjellman (YP45) was on hand to head home both times. hrbfcrule
July 2027 League: Halmstad 0-2 Tord Just like London buses, we got our 2nd away win right after the 1st. Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) gave us the lead in the 9th min and Peter Jansson (YP33) added a 2nd 8 mins into the 2nd half. League: Malmo FF 4-1 Tord Well that's an abrubt end to our winning streak. Malmo took a while to get going but when they did they were unstoppable. Peter Jansson (YP33) managed to get a consolation goal for us. League: Tord 1-0 Elfsborg A deserved win although we made it much harder work than it should have been. Jorgen Melki (YP37) got the winner in the 57th min. League: Tord 1-1 Djurgarden Djurgarden took the lead halfway through the 1st half but Anton Dahlberg (YP30) equalise shortly after. The 2nd half was uneventful except for our 1 golden opportunity to win the match but Peter Jansson (YP33) skewed it wide.
