Probably one of the best teams I've ever had on CM/FM. Although Bernardo, Lancini and Pjanic all cost 37m each, and Aguero 52m...so that's no surprise!

Thebest thing about this save is that last season I bought a Mexican newgen called Mario Reyna and the following season his brother called Ulises Reyna came through my youth system. They both have each other on there favourite personnel, both born in the same place. Mario is the older of the two and is right footed, and Ulises is 2 years younger and Left footed. Both look good prospects. :D

2012/13 Season: EPL Stats

GK: Joe Hart (10M - Man City - 2010): 5 games, 3 CS, 3 GC

DL: Criscito (Free Transfer - Juventus - 2012):

DR: Montejo* (5M - Mallorca - 2009)

DC: Vermaelen

DC: Aurier* (5M - RC Lens - 2009)

MC: Fabregas

MC: Nordtveit

AMR: Wilshere

AML: Kroos (10.5M - FC Bayern - 2010)

TM: Dzeko (11.75M - Wolfsburg - 2010): 5 Games, 11 Goals, 1 Assists

TQ: Barazite: 5 Games, 2 Goals, 7 Assists

Montejo and Aurier are regens, both are 19 years old, but established themselves in the 2011/2012 season when Shawcross, Otamendi, and Sagna went down with injuries. I ended up selling all three.

After the first season, I was surprisingly offered Dzeko by Wolfsburg for the measly sum I indicated above. Shocking, as I usually have to bid more than 23M after the first season

I talked up Criscito in December 2011, when I noticed his contract was expiring at the end of the season. I even went as far to have a bid and contracted accepted, delaying until January 1 rolled around. Cancelled the agreed transfer with Juventus and offered him a contract under the Bosman ruling.

Barazite has been quite the surprise, he is should be 4-5 on my pecking order at the forward position, and even further down for midfielder positions, based on attributes alone. He has been the perfect complement to Dzeko, after Bendtner and Van Persie had injuries in the 2011/12 season. He only scored 7 goals in 31 EPL games, but provided 17 assists. In 14 CL games, he scored 7 goals and 5 assists.

Newcastle 2012/13 Season.

ST - Hulk (20M in 2011/12)

ST - Daniel Sturridge (4.5M in 2011/12)

Would be my starting choice.

This is by far the strangest game I have ever had, I found instant success with Newcastle using this system and have not looked back, winning the Premiership last year by 9 points and topping the league this year by 10 points with 8 matches to play and a game in hand.

Previous saves have not seen me find success so soon or seen some of the big 4 fade so fast.

quality stuff mate, obivously a very good manager well played

U.S. Triestina Calcio, 2048-2049

Csaba Klement (HUN, GK)

Tasuku Maenosono (JPN, D R) - Filippo Piccirillo (ITA, D C) - Enrique Verdejo (ESP, D C) - Alessandro Battaglia (ITA, D L)

Peter Sutherland (SCO, M C)

Dominik Schmidt (GER, AM R) - Billy Hill (ENG, AM C) - Billy Stuart (SCO, AM L)

Matteo Leoncini (ITA, ST) - Wim Akkermans (NED, ST)

Fábio (BRA/ITA)

Paul Ferguson (SCO)

Sven Preuß (GER)

Abderraouf Tlili (TUN/ITA)

Paolo Cesarano (ITA)

Steve Cunningham (SCO)

Daniele Dominici (ITA)

Csaba Klement (GK)

Signed as a 16-year-old from MTK for a compensation fee, Klement got an early start into the first-team as my scouts were raving about him, and with a solid back four he had little to do except in the big games. Eventually he got into things and is now arguably the best goalkeeper in the world. He's the current captain of Triestina.

Tasuku Maenosono (D R, AM R)

Signed for £10m (bargain!) from Fiorentina, I originally intended for Maenosono to only be a backup for both right-back and right-wing - but Maenosono forced his way to become first-choice right-winger after Preuß had a crisis in confidence and his form bottomed out. I mostly deploy him at right-back now as Schmidt has done well himself. His pace isn't great so it does catch him out every now and again but his technical and mental abilities are beyond dispute and he playmakes from the back - and takes mean set-pieces.

Filippo Piccirillo (D RC, DM)

A rare pacy centre-back from the Triestina academy, Piccirillo got off to a great start in the Primavera before going on loan and doing well on loan at Bari and then Empoli (four times). At that point I decided it was about time he played for me instead and he settled in nicely as third-choice before becoming first-choice this season, as well as vice-captain. A reliable performer - although not very tall and occasionally dominated in the air, his pace and positioning more than make up for it. Occasional right-back and defensive midfielder with his good distribution and composure on the ball too although I don't really put him there unless necessary because of his lack of technique and crossing ability.

Enrique Verdejo (D RC, DM)

Joined the Triestina academy as an outstanding youngster, miles ahead of his peers. By 18 he had already gone out on loan as he was too good for the Primavera. At 20 Sunderland made a very tempting £32m bid for my going-to-be-first-choice but unsettled centre-back and I took it, recalling Verdejo from his loan and putting him as fourth-choice centre-back. Now with my former first-choice centre-back and aging grandad centre-back in slow decay, he's arguably Piccirillo's best partner at the back. Occasionally I deploy Cunningham instead to add more aerial ability. Verdejo is a classy centre-back with excellent distribution. Like Piccirillo he's more pacy than tall. Verdejo has impressed at right-back too, and he's deployed there on occasion.

Alessandro Battaglia (D/WB L, AM L)

Battaglia joined Triestina from Genoa for £1.2m as a youngster, with me fighting off loads of competition for his signature. He first arrived with a terrible attitude but I managed to tutor some sense into him and he blossomed. He never actually impressed on loan (Piacenza, Verona, Pisa and Inter) but when he came into my first-team fold he blossomed. He's equally good at left-back or left-wing - he's a great and reliable winger (getting off to an outstanding start this season), but a creative and sensible left-back who can put in great passes or pinpoint crosses from deep. Great team player and extremely skilled on and off the ball. Has been roaming the left flank in both positions for a long time now.

Peter Sutherland (DM, AM C)

Mr. Reliable. I signed Sutherland from Peterborough for £1m and he was good enough to initially make the odd appearance immediately as a youngster. In his second season I loaned him out to Burnley in January, and Sheffield United the season after, before shunting him into the defensive midfield role he now dominates and occupies. He's the first real orthodox defensive midfielder I've played - no real frills to him. He's just an all-round great defensive midfielder who can play box-to-box if necessary, or attacking midfield possibly. He's always been bald though.

Dominik Schmidt (AM RLC, F C)

I think Thomas Müller really represents Schmidt in a lot of ways - German, best deployed as a striker, kind of stuck in a rut - then I signed him from Bayern Munich on a free and he eventually exploded into a goalscoring right-winger who forced Maenosono to right-back and Preuß to the bench. He's a hardworking right-back with bundles of flair about him. He's quick and capable of hitting them from distance. He's a little hapless as a striker though - he scored twice there, scoring more on the flanks. I sometimes deploy him on the left on his weaker foot, where he cuts in.

Billy Stuart (AM LC, F C)

Signed from Shotts BA for £1m as a youngster and spending time on loan at Trabzonspor, Sheffield United, Bolton and Fiorentina, Billy Stuart is the ubiquitous attacking left-winger who can't really be stopped on his day. When at his peak he was outrageously good on the left, banging in silly goals from distance or putting great crosses in. During a striking crisis I tossed him in at attacking midfield where despite his lack of shooting ability he proceeded to tear teams apart with his brilliant passing and long shots. His lack of pace today is no big deal as he's tricky enough to find his way beyond the back four somehow. Links up really well with Battaglia.

Billy Hill (AM/F C)

Billy Hill was signed from Reading for £725k and spent multiple periods on loan with West Brom, Siena, Coventry and Leicester prior to becoming a first-teamer. I put Billy Hill here because my front three all interchange, but the attacking midfielder has a special withdrawn role, playing between the lines. Despite his attributes, he plays a selfish role where he doesn't have to really pass to anyone - just score yourself. He definitely takes advantage of the players around him by getting into great positions, but he's best off doing it all by himself.

Wim Akkermans (AM RLC, F C)

Akkermans was signed from FC Twente for £500k, and went back on loan there and to Dortmund too. Just before going to Dortmund an injury crisis up front meant that Akkermans was put into the frying pan - and he responded with a typical targetman performance, with 9 goals and 11 assists as a youngster. Since then he's become every defender's nightmare - he's utterly dominant in the air and his strength means he has no problems holding off others. He's also got outstanding technique for a big guy - like Emile Heskey with Xavi's technique in a lot of ways. This means that he has no problems holding up the ball and passing the ball on through tight spaces while others run off him. Last season was a huge breakthrough as he jumped into the first team and scored 35 goals, and got 15 assists. This season he's letting others run the show - only 9 goals, but 12 assists and I'm not even halfway through the season. He's wasteful in front of goal though (lack of concentration/agility probably) but on-form he's unstoppable. Has a bad habit of only doing really well in the first half of the season though. Can also be deployed on the wings if I want him to start holding the ball up wide, where he can make use of his Beckham-esque crossing too.

Matteo Leoncini (AM RLC, F C)

Signed from Catania at £500k as a youngster, Leoncini spent time on loan at IFK Göteborg, Siena, Albinoleffe, Basel and Castelnuovo (scoring 19 times there, which convinced me he was ready), before moving to my first-team. He did well last season (28 goals, 20 assists), usually setting up Akkermans. This season, however, the roles have reversed - his pace and anticipation means he's just torn defences apart, latching onto balls from Akkermans. He's got 16 goals and 3 assists in 19 games and I still have more rubbish teams to play. Likely to become World Player of the Year this year I'd imagine - his form has been excellent and he leads the Serie A scorers table. He's not bad on the wings either but I prefer him up front.

----

Fábio (D L, DM, AM RLC, F C)

Signed as a left-footed defensive midfielder/winger from Fluminense for free, you wouldn't think he's a regen - but he is. He's nearly identical to the Manchester United Fábio today - his full name is also "Fábio da Silva", he's left-footed, loves attacking, great finishing, Brazilian, formerly played for Fluminense... It's crazy really. Most importantly he turned out to be such a ridiculous left-back, cutting in and ripping shots in from 30 yards. In attacking midfield he destroyed the opposition with his lethal shooting - he would literally take pot shots from 30-35 yards and they would more often than not go in. His free-kicks are lethal too. Think of him as a loose cannon that is ultra-accurate and ultra-reliable. With his lack of pace today I mostly deploy him as an attacking midfielder where he continues to scare opposition goalkeepers to death.

Paul Ferguson (D LC, DM)

Signed from Rangers for free before spending time on loan at Hapoel Tel-Aviv and FC Sochaux, I'd always been split on Ferguson - was he ever really good enough? Halfway through a loan at Crystal Palace where he was doing well, I was forced to recall him during an injury crisis where he slotted in nicely at centre-back. He's not that strong though which causes problems (although he's good in the air). He seems oddly injury-prone himself though, meaning he's never really been able to hold down a spot at centre-back, losing it all the time. A solid left-back as well. Dodgy passer so not a great defensive midfielder - I usually use him there to solidify the midfield to close games out.

Abderraouf Tlili (D RC, WB R, DM, M RC)

Tlili was signed on a Bosman from Verona, as a backup and utility man. Performed admirably at right-back even holding down a first-team spot last season for a prolonged period of time - but unfortunately he lost that momentum and is back on the bench. Useful player though and occasional backup for centre-back too. He can sure hit them from distance too.

Paolo Cesarano (D R, AM RC)

A former player of mine, he left as (I thought) a mediocre midfielder who loved shooting but was extremely slow. After a journeyman career he ended up rotting on Juventus's bench and I decided to snap him up on a Bosman as he had developed really interestingly - really slow but outstanding technical and mental attributes. Even at 31 he's capable of scoring really good goals or making excellent passes. When counter-attacking he's brilliant at picking the ball up and threading it through acres of space - he doesn't have to chase the game, he just dictates. He's done really well in his backup and limited role and I'm hoping to get him to tutor some of my youngsters.

Steve Cunningham (D C)

Signed on a Bosman from Hull, Cunningham was supposed to be my aerially-dominant centre-back but he hasn't really developed much. He's been decent and is a better option than Verdejo against big strikers but I just get the feeling he's not going to be that great. Sunderland are sniffing around him. He's not got too many weaknesses but his lack of technique has cost me a couple of times with his misplaced passes and mishit clearances - but he's a no-nonsense centre-back who should at least get slightly better.

Daniele Dominici (AM RL, F C)

Dominici was signed from Sampdoria for £750k and spent time on loan at OFI, back to Sampdoria and Leicester. At Leicester he convinced me he was ready by bagging an excellent 26 goals and 6 assists, finishing as Leicester's top scorer. He's a bit more direct than Leoncini and Hill, relying on his finishing more than pace or movement. He's been injured this season but has 2 goals and 2 assists in 6 appearances so far. Hopefully he can get into double figures this season and give me food for though as I have 2 strikers waiting on loan, whom are both wonderkids.

----

No, I don't have a backup goalkeeper on the bench - I risk it.

DR: Seamus Coleman (Another from Everton bargin at £150k)

DC: Vincent Kompany (Signed from City in 2012 for £2.1mil)

DC: Martin Caceres (Singed from Barcelona in 2011 for £1mil)

AM: Diego Buonanotte (Signed from Rangers 2010 for 3.7mil)

ST: Felipe Caicedo (Signed from City in 2011 £1.7mil)

Won the Premier league and Champions League in 2013/2014 with this team using an adjusted version of Mr Houghs 4-1-2-3 (I changed mine to 4-1-2-2-1)

Also won the premier league with a slightly different team in 2012/2013

I was very lucky with my signings throughout my career that has helped my team build up.

Signed Gaston Fernandez on a free in the championship season. He scored 33 goals in 39 appearances for me. He stayed for 4 seaons but was inaffective in the premier league only scored 20 goals in 72 appearances. Sold him to Villa for £15 million in 2013

Another player i signed on a free was Fellype Gabriel in the first season sold him two seasons later for £5 mil to villarreal

My two biggest though are Jermaine Jenas and Jimmy Briand who i signed 2011 and 2010 both on free transfers. Sold Jenas one season later to atletico madrid for £20 million? and briand to Lyon for £12 Million

Just moved on the following players

Gabriel Agbonlahor £28mil to Man Utd

Anthony Annan £15mil to Genoa

Hedwiges Maduro £10 mil to Inter

This next season is looking tough though.

Won the Charity shield against Everton on Penalties, then was beaten by them in the first game of the season 4-1. have not yet won a game in the first 5 drawn 3 lost 2

My Newcastle team in 2017:

GK: Alex Smithies - signed for 4 million, now worth 12

RB: Martin Janssen - regen, signed for 22 million, quality

CB: Steven Taylor - in team anyway, worth 5 million, captain

CB: Sokratis Papastathopolous - signed for 15 million, now worth 9

LB: Fabio - signed for 3 million, now worth 9

DM: Steven Defour - signed on a free, now worth 8 million

CM: Jano Ananidze - my personal fave player, signed for 300 thousand, now worth 14 million, absolute quality

CM: Mehmet Coksun Ahdemir - regen, signed for 8 million, now worth 16

AM: Sergio Canales - what. a. player. signed for 8 million, now worth 20.5

I always rotate my strikers, can never decide, from:

ST: Pato - normally first choice, signed for 45 million, now worth 37, having a bad patch, therefore left out a lot

ST: Nikola Kalinic - astonishing striker, scores so damn many. top scorer, 45 in 32. signed for 6 million, now worth 10

ST: Mario Balotelli - just signed for 36 million, scored 8 in 5

ST: Jonathan Cristaldo - my first signing, scored 120 in 220, signed for 3 million, now worth 8.5, vice captain.

I love my team <3

Just won premiership last season, and got to champions league final, losing to real madrid

Winning premiership with 8 games left, and 17 points ahead of everyone

Into the quarters against bayern in the champs league.

Barnet, The Championship 2013-14:

Simple but effective 4-4-2 diamond

Gk: Ivanov - Brought him in as 3rd choice backup, but has been amazing

Rb: Cook- Quality Welsh regen

Cb: Sylvain Distin - The hardman at the back. Solid but bit slow now and will need replacing soon

Cb: Hughes - Again solid, good mental stats and got some pace to compliment Distin

Lb: Sheehan - By far the weakest area of my team, desperately need a replacement

Rw(attack): Bannan - New signing, devastating when cutting inside

Ball winning midfielder (defend): Grossi - Italian regen who will probably move to Cb when Distin goes

Attacking Playmaker: Skvortsov - Russian regen #1, brilliant passer and dribbler, shooting needs work

Lw (attack): Brady - Stays out wide, beats the fullback and whips in good crosses for...

...Target man: Andy Caroll - One man battering ram, untouchable in the air

Poacher: Kozhanov - Russian regen #2, the skill to Caroll's strength, plays similar to Van Persie

GK - Casillas

LB - Lahm

RB - Ramos

Unsuprisingly I have dominated since the off. Signed Lahm and Chiellini in first season, then Villa followed at Christmas. Ribery and Rooney the season after. 150+ games undefeated in league and lost only 3 games in 620+ since the off. Been trying to get Messi but to no avail. :(
