Hangover 0-0 Rampant Ravishers

Half time at the Noisy Box Place

We’re live here at the Noisy Box Place where hosts Hangover are currently drawing 0-0 with Rampant Ravishers in the T2B Championship. Will we see the first goal of the season in this game in the second half? Let’s head back pitchside to find out.

Sub: Rafinha off, Kranjcar on (Hang)

Sub: Riise off, Zambrotta on (RR)

Sub: Traore off, Sagna on (RR)

Yellow card: Park Ji-Sung (Hang)

Sub: Cuellar off, Scharner on (Hang)

58 mins:

Corner from the left for the Ravishers. Sagna plays it in, Distin is there, confusion in the six yard box. Ball cleared to the edge of the area and Kuyt on the volley. High and wide and handsome. A waste from Dirk Kuyt.

Yellow card: Cattermole (RR)

Yellow card: Ambrosini (RR)

77 mins:

Kranjcar has the ball on the right cutting inside for the home side. Plays a neat one-two with Park Ji-Sung, Kranjcar with the shot. Straight at Buffon again.

85 mins:

Lee Cattermole with a determined run down the right for the Ravishers here. Gets in a cross to the near post, headed behind by Scharner. Did he push Gomez? The referee waves away the penalty claims.

86 mins:

It will be Sagna with the corner, taking his time now. Finally, he floats the ball into the six yard box and it’s Ambrosini with the header but over the bar.

Full time:

An early contender for ‘Most boring game of the season’ here at Noisy Box Place. Why on earth did we decide to come here today?!

T2B CHAMPIONSHIP – Matchday 1

Welcome back to Wembley Stadium where later on today we will be watching the Community Shield match between champions Coedpoeth United and FA Cup winners New Bloc live and exclusive here on SPORTS.tv. We’ve just seen the first live Championship game of the season between Hangover and Rampant Ravishers which ended goalless and rather a drab game after all the excitement of pre-season and all the build up.

The rest of the Championship matches are just kicking off around the country as well as the final pre-season friendlies. We’ve got our panel here to watch the main action and keep us bang up to date with what is happening. Let’s introduce them.

First of all, we have a former Southampton forward who was always accused of being ‘a little bit tubby.’ It is – of course – the legend that is Neil Shipperley.

Next up is the Scouser with the big nose. Please welcome Ian Rush to the panel. (Who else did you think it was going to be?)

The third member of our panel is a former Arsenal player who was rumoured to be a big hit with the ladies during his playing career. It’s obviously Ray Parlour.

And our final panel member is a former footballer who was rather mediocre but has had a successful career since due to his mouth and rather silly comments. Our final member of the panel is Sir Neil Warnock.

Panel.jpg

Neil Shipperley:

I’m at the Hallendren Community Stadium today to see two more newcomers to the Top2Bottom Championship. Hopefully, the Hallendren Awakeners and Phoenix will be able to provide some goals for us.

Ian Rush:

Helsinki Hurricanes are a club with insecure finances but an impressive squad. Things could get interesting this season at the Hurricane Alley Stadium. I’m here to see their first home game of the season against fellow Top2Bottom side, BC Lions.

Ray Parlour:

It was just two and a half months ago that Zac Smith and Melbourne walked out at Wembley for the Play Off Final. It was heartache that day for the Demons and they now face another long, arduous journey to try and get into the Premier League again. They start the season at Glanford Park today against newly-promoted Scunthorpe United who did win a Play Off Final to get here today.

Neil Warnock:

We’re in the English League so it’s only right we feature the game between the Welsh side and the French side. FC Libourne Saint-Seurin – from now on referred to as FC Libourne – travel to Swansea City’s Liberty Stadium for a tough opening fixture.

We’re also following the following games:

T2B CHAMPIONSHIP:

Blackpool vs. Doncaster Rovers

Bristol City vs. Nottingham Forest

CSKA Oddworld vs. Preston North End

Nordic Thunder vs. Coventry City

Peterborough United vs. Horden All Stars

Plymouth Argyle vs. Oldham North Stars

Sporting Stronburg vs. Barnsley

PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES:

Velez vs. Essendon

Levante vs. Essex Eagles

Northern Extreme vs. Juventus

Join us after the break for the updates on all the games as the action unfolds.

T2B CHAMPIONSHIP – Matchday 1

Our opening live game of the season produced no goals so we are still looking for the first official goal of the 2009/2010 season. It must be coming very soon. Where will it be?

It’s at Home Park. Plymouth Argyle are a goal behind after 2 minutes at home to the Oldham North Stars thanks to a Kenwyne Jones strike. Congratulations to the North Stars who – at this very early stage of the season – are leading the league.

In the friendly matches, Argentinian side Velez have taken an early 1-0 lead over Essendon.

Goal at Bloomfield Road. Blackpool have taken an early lead over Doncaster Rovers thanks to Hameur Bouazza. And we have our first goal of the day for our panel to tell us about.

Neil Warnock:

Fabulous start for FC Libourne Saint-Seurin in their Top2Bottom debut match. Great combination play from the front two, Darren Bent slipping the ball into the box and Marouane Chamakh fired past De Vries. 1-0 to FC Libourne.

Great start to their Top2Bottom lives as well for Horden All Stars and Nordic Thunder. The All Stars are a goal up at Peterborough United thanks to Ivan Klasnic’s 12th minute goal and Thunder lead at home – at their Eldinghollin stadium – after 13 minutes thanks to Edin Dzeko to make it 1-0 against Coventry City.

The Stronburg Stronghold has been breached though. Sporting Stronburg are a goal down at home after just 18 minutes thanks to an Andy Gray strike for Barnsley. 1-0 to the Tykes there. And we’re getting news of 2 goals in 3 minutes in Argentina, it’s now 2-1 to Essendon in their friendly with Velez thanks to goals from James Harper and Raul.

Goals in the other two pre-season friendlies as well and both against our Top2Bottom sides. Juventus lead 1-0 at Aurora Park against Northern Extreme and Essex Eagles are a goal down at Levante in Spain. Good news though now for Sporting Stronburg; they have levelled quickly at home to Barnsley thanks to Klaas Jan Huntelaar after 21 minutes.

Over to the Hallendren Community Stadium. Neil?

Neil Shipperley:

Goal scored here and it’s gone the way of the visitors. Break for Phoenix from Dimitar Berbatov, he found his strike partner Amauri and the Brazilian out-paced Jonny Evans and beat the keeper at his near post. Hallendren 0-1 Phoenix.

And it’s now even better news for the Oldham North Stars at Plymouth. First goal of the season early on and they’ve doubled their lead thanks to a debut goal from Eric Djemba-Djemba on 24 minutes. Essex Eagles academy player Neil Lyons has levelled for them in their friendly against Levante in Spain: could he be a name to watch in the future I wonder?

Sporting Stronburg were given an early scare by Barnsley but levelled quickly. It’s now 2-1 but which way has it gone? Julian Faubert has got the goal and the Championship newcomers S-Burg are in front now after 33 minutes. Doncaster Rovers are level at Blackpool thanks to Martin Woods’ goal; and Horden All Stars have now doubled their lead at London Road against Peterborough United and it is a second for Ivan Klasnic who becomes the early top scorer in the Championship.

More news reaching us from Argentina. Essendon lead 2-1 over Velez but their first goalscorer James Harper has just been sent off. That will mean a suspension for the midfielder when the Premier League season starts next weekend. And there has been another goal in added on time at the end of the first half for Sporting Stronburg. Demba Ba has made it 3-1 now to S-Burg and they are surely now on their way to an opening day 3 points.

Half time whistles are sounding around the country and beyond. Let’s check the latest scores.

T2B CHAMPIONSHIP:

Blackpool 1-1 Doncaster Rovers

Bristol City 0-0 Nottingham Forest

CSKA Oddworld 0-0 Preston North End

Hallendren Awakeners 0-1 Phoenix

Helsinki Hurricanes 0-0 BC Lions

Nordic Thunder 1-0 Coventry City

Peterborough United 0-2 Horden All Stars

Plymouth Argyle 0-2 Oldham North Stars

Scunthorpe United 0-0 Melbourne

Sporting Stronburg 3-1 Barnsley

Swansea City 0-1 FC Libourne Saint-Seurin

Full Time: Hangover 0-0 Rampant Ravishers

PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES:

Velez 1-2 Essendon

Levante 1-1 Essex Eagles

Northern Extreme 0-1 Juventus

We’ll be back after this short break with the second half updates on SPORTS.tv. Join us then.

T2B CHAMPIONSHIP – Matchday 1

Quiet around the grounds at the moment as the second halves get started. Things are currently looking very good for Horden All Stars, Oldham North Stars and Sporting Stronburg who all have two goal leads; FC Libourne Saint-Seurin, Phoenix and the Nordic Thunder all lead by a goal to nil so far; the only Top2Bottom side behind at half time is Hallendren Awakeners – a goal down to Phoenix of course.

News filtering in from Argentina that it is now 2-2; Velez have levelled on 50 minutes against ten man Essendon. There’s also been 2 goals in 2 minutes at Aurora Park and it’s turning into a bad day at the office for Northern Extreme who are now 3-0 down at home to Juventus.

A setback for Horden All Stars at London Road. Dominic Green has pulled a goal back for Peterborough United and they are now just 2-1 down to the All Stars. But there is much better news at Home Park for Oldham North Stars who are looking likely to lead the league tonight; they now lead 3-0 at Plymouth thanks to a goal from Giampaolo Pazzini on 58 minutes.

A loud shout from Ian Rush over on the panel. Straight over to Rushy who is watching the game at Hurricane Alley Stadium.

Ian Rush:

It’s a goal for the home side and finally their persistence pays off. Great play from Gourcuff and Van Persie made the chance and when it was slipped past the last defender for the onrushing Michael Essien, there was no doubt that he was going to slam the ball home in front of the massed BC Lions fans at that end of the ground. 1-0 to Helsinki Hurricanes!

And straight off to Neil Shipperley ...

Neil Shipperley:

Equaliser for the Hallendren Awakeners here as they peg back Phoenix to make it 1-1. Nenad Milijas is the man that got it albeit with a deflection; he fired a short corner from Vladimir Weiss towards goal and it somehow found its way into the back of the net. Home fans joyous here, it’s 1-1.

Rob Earnshaw has scored a penalty for Nottingham Forest at Ashton Gate to put the former European champions in front at Bristol City on 63 minutes. We’ll be over to Ray Parlour at Glanford Park in a moment to hear about a goal; first up though, news coming in that Nordic Thunder are now 2-0 up at home to Coventry City, Dmytro Chygrynskyi has struck the second for the Icemen at Eldinghollin. Over to Ray.

Ray Parlour:

The deadlock has been broken here and finally the Demons of Melbourne can start to put the Play Off Final despair behind them as they celebrate a goal here. Marouane Fellaini’s pass split the Scunthorpe defence in two and it was Kevin Doyle who was first to the ball to slide it past the keeper. Scunny 0, Melbourne 1.

Game over now at the Stronburg Stronghold and it looks like it will be as the name suggests. Sporting Stronburg now lead by 4 goals to 1 thanks to second goal for Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Barnsley will now be wishing they were back on the bus. Over to Neil Warnock, goal at the Liberty Stadium.

Neil Warnock:

Equalising goal for the Swans here and their fans serenade the French following with ‘Who are ya?’ as we get the game back on the way. Mark Gower’s header won the ball back and the ball fell to Leon Britton who ran with the ball before firing home from the edge of the area to make it Swansea City 1, FC Libourne Saint-Seurin 1 with 21 minutes left.

Glimmer of hope for Coventry City at Nordic Thunder as Clinton Morrison pulls one back, it’s now 2-1 to Thunder there now. There’s also been another goal at London Road where Peterborough United were threatening a comeback at 2-1 down to Horden All Stars; they’re not any more though. Eduardo has added a third goal for Horden and that should now be that at 3-1.

Giampaolo Pazzini has scored a second goal of the afternoon for himself for the Oldham North Stars to make it 4-0 now to the Top2Bottom newcomers at Plymouth Argyle. Their fans are now chanting ‘We are top of the league!’ down at Home Park but the Green Army are making their way home in despair. We’ve just heard though that there has been a slight black mark on the North Stars’ day as Karl Henry has been sent off. Back over to Ray Parlour with news.

Ray Parlour:

Penalty for Scunthorpe United! Marouane Fellaini brought down Paul Hayes in the area – he has been sent off for a second bookable offence – and Grant McCann has the opportunity to bring Scunthorpe United back level here. Melbourne manager Zac Smith doesn’t look convinced about the decision. Up steps McCann ... Saved by Hugo Lloris! Ten man Melbourne remain a goal up, can they hang on for three valuable points on the first day of the season?

The referees have suddenly woke up all of a sudden – Isaac Osbourne of Coventry City has just been sent off at Eldinghollin as they chase a way back from 2-1 down against the Nordic Thunder – and we’re just hearing that from the resulting free kick, Jefferson Farfan has put the Icemen 3-1 in front and surely now has sealed the three points for them.

Another goal for ten-man Oldham North Stars – a five star performance from the early pacesetters at Plymouth – and it’s a hat-trick on his debut for Italian Giampaolo Pazzini as he makes it 5-0 with 4 minutes remaining. Back to Ian Rush, there’s been another goal at the Hurricane Alley Stadium but which way has it gone? Equaliser for BC Lions or a sigh of relief for the Helsinki Hurricanes?

Ian Rush:

It’s a sigh of relief all around the ground as Helsiniki Hurricanes seal the three points as they make it 2-0. Patrice Evra and Joe Cole linked on the left and the England winger cut inside onto his right foot. The BC Lions defence didn’t close him down and he fired the ball out of the reach of Paul Robinson and into the top right corner. 2-0 to Hurricanes.

A contender for ‘Goal of the Month’ already there from Joe Cole, a real rocket into the top corner. Equaliser at Ashton Gate, Bristol City’s Danny Haynes has pegged back Nottingham Forest and it’s 1-1 now. It’s been a quiet day at Rupture Farms but there’s now been the first goal of the day between CSKA Oddworld and Preston North End; and it’s been scored by CSKA’s Vincenzo Iaquinta on 88 minutes, they lead 1-0 late in the day. Injury time winner at Bloomfield Road and it’s gone the way of Doncaster Rovers, James Hayter with the goal in the third minute of time added on.

The first day of the T2B Championship is now complete, final whistles have gone all around the division. Let’s check out the classified results.

T2B CHAMPIONSHIP:

Blackpool 1-2 Doncaster Rovers

Bristol City 1-1 Nottingham Forest

CSKA Oddworld 1-0 Preston North End

Hallendren Awakeners 1-1 Phoenix

Hangover 0-0 Rampant Ravishers

Helsinki Hurricanes 2-0 BC Lions

Nordic Thunder 3-1 Coventry City

Peterborough United 1-3 Horden All Stars

Plymouth Argyle 0-5 Oldham North Stars

Scunthorpe United 0-1 Melbourne

Sporting Stronburg 4-1 Barnsley

Swansea City 1-1 FC Libourne Saint-Seurin

PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES:

Velez 2-2 Essendon

Levante 1-1 Essex Eagles

Northern Extreme 0-3 Juventus

A great opening day win for Oldham North Stars sees them lead the way tonight after one game. There were also wins for Doncaster Rovers, CSKA Oddworld, Helsinki Hurricanes, Nordic Thunder, Horden All Stars, Melbourne and Sporting Stronburg. FC Libourne Saint-Seurin drop points at Swansea City whilst Hallendren Awakeners, Phoenix, Hangover and Rampant Ravishers all share the points in their all-T2B matches. The only T2B side to lose were BC Lions who lost at Helsinki Hurricanes.

T2B Community Shield

It’s been an exciting first day in the T2B Championship and a great start there for Oldham North Stars in particular. We’re live now from Wembley where last season’s top two in the T2B Premier League – Coedpoeth United and New Bloc – meet for the first domestic silverware of the season, the Community Shield. Coedy won the title on the last day of last season to deny New Bloc the double but the ‘pink and blacks’ secured the FA Cup days later to set-up today’s match at Wembley.

Wembley looks a picture today with half of the stadium basking in the sunlight and the other half coloured pink and black; the game is coming live after the break. Stay tuned!

Coedpoeth United vs. New Bloc

Live from the Wembley Stadium

Welcome back to Wembley as we prepare for the highest profile pre-season friendly of the 2009 season with the top two from last year meeting to determine the winners of the Community Shield. Let’s find out the team news for this season’s curtain raiser.

TEAM NEWS:

New Bloc: Brazilian striker Pato is missing from the New Bloc squad who start with Gieuseppe Rossi and Eren Derdiyok up front instead. Petr Cech starts in goal for the Bloc and Lorik Cana starts in midfield in a 5-3-2 formation selected by Hryhorii Zahordnak.

Coedpoeth United: The Premier League champions – managed by Robert Jones of course – line up as we were told in a diamond 4-4-2 formation with Kaka at the attacking point of the diamond in midfield. Patrick Vieira starts in midfield and the Coedy front pairing is made up of Wayne Rooney and youngster Bojan.

ODDS FROM BET365:

New Bloc: 2-1, Draw: 12-5, Coedpoeth United: Evens

The referee is Chris Foy and he gets the game underway here at Wembley.

Yellow card: Cana (NB)

11 mins:

Tony Hibbert finds Steven Defour 30 yards out from the New Bloc goal; he takes aim and hits a fierce drive which Cech divert over the bar for a Coedpoeth United corner.

21 mins:

Good play from Gieuseppe Rossi sets Vedran Corluka free down the right hand side. The Croat gets to the byline and crosses towards the six yard box where Derdiyok meets the ball with a header just over the top.

Yellow card: Palacios (CU)

45 mins:

Good run from Hibbert down the right, plays the ball inside to Palacios who scoops a shot high and wide from the edge of the area.

45+3 mins:

Ball is again out on the right for Hibbert for Coedpoeth United. He centres the ball from deep looking for Bojan; he collides with Corluka in the box and goes down. What does the ref say? Penalty. Chris Foy points to the spot for a penalty kick in stoppage time in the first half.

It’s going to be the £37 million man, Kaka, up against Petr Cech in the New Bloc goal. Up steps Kaka ... Saved by Cech! The Czech international guesses correctly and saves excellently at full stretch to keep out the Brazilian striker. We remain goalless.

Half time:

SPORTS.tv certainly knows how to pick them – another dull, boring game that remains 0-0. In fact, the only real interest came from the last 90 seconds of the half with the inoccuous penalty and the Cech save from Kaka. Let’s hope for some action in the second half!

New Bloc 0-0 Coedpoeth United

Half time at Wembley Stadium

Three halves of football shown live on SPORTS.tv so far and no goals so far. It can only get better. Hopefully, the two best sides in the country – based on last season – can put on a more worthy show in the second half.

49 mins:

Hibbert with the throw in for Coedpoeth United; finds Vieira who switches play well to Leighton Baines. He takes a touch and shoots low but wide of the post. Decent effort from the left back.

Sub: Defour off, Bruno on (CU)

Yellow card: Hibbert (CU)

Yellow card: Derdiyok (NB)

Sub: Amorim off, Pjanic on (NB)

Sub: Rossi off, Bendtner on (NB)

83 mins:

Leighton Baines down the left for Coedpoeth United, faced up by Corluka. Plays the ball in towards the edge of the area. Rooney controls and turns towards goal, it’s Rooney! Left foot drive into the back of the New Bloc goal and finally we have a goal! A piece of magic in an otherwise very, very dull contest here. Wayne Rooney gives the champions the lead with 7 minutes remaining.

New Bloc 0-1 Coedpoeth United (Rooney, 83)

Sub: David Luiz off, Woods on (CU)

Sub: Ferdinand off, Preston on (NB)

Sub: Motta off, Derbyshire on (NB)

Sub: Lozano off, Ilunga on (NB)

Full time:

Thank heavens for Wayne Rooney! A desperately poor performance from both sides and one of the worst games in living memory until the 83rd minute and a moment of magic from the young England striker. A perfect sequence of control, turn and left foot strike left New Bloc keeper Cech only watching in admiration as the ball whistled past him into the back of the net before he could blink. Coedpoeth United win the first silverware of the season after a 1-0 win over the main rivals from last season, New Bloc.

Here is the new and improved Essendon FC lineup, many changes from last season, but with some fantastic key players (bolded above), they are looking much more dangerous than the team that just missed out on taking home the FA Cup last season.

A dencent pre-season so far, with no defeats to report, and a respectable 2-2 draw recently against Velez despite going a man down, the team is full of confidence leading into the first game of the season.

Finally -a big thank you to LLR for the fantastic kits... now will we not only win, but look good doing it!

FC Libourne Saint Seurin manager launches internet blog show

In a surprising move today FC Libourne Saint Seurin have launched a fascinating experiment to try and win some new fans for the club. Manager Jerome Hebert has said he will post the odd blog here and there to try and win over some fans from the internet. However after seeing some of the content in this, the first blog, it's more likely that Hebert and FC Libourne Saint Seurin will be losing fans rather than gaining them. The blog show series called "Controversy Creates Cash" is definitely controversial, some may deem it comical, although it's likely that managers, fans and players of the teams that he "criticises" will certainly not see the funny side to it. Whatever the reception it gets will certainly be interesting, and definitely controversial.

Pre-season review with Welsh Wizards manager Ryan Lester

welshwizards.net today brings you an exclusive interview with manager Ryan Lester in which we discussed his hopes for the season, while also reviewing the pre-season games and signings.

WWN: So, Ryan, 6 wins from 6 games, surely you must be happy with the effort put forth by your players

RL: I certainly am, we've experienced a period of change in the summer, with the whole squad changing, but the new players seem to have settled in nicely and performed brilliantly.

WWN: What are your expectations for the upcoming season?

RL: The same as last year, to make it in Europe. We came very close year, challenging for Champions League place early on, before poor form in the middle of the season let us down. However, it was a learning experience and I'm sure we won't repeat the mistakes of last season.

WWN: How happy are you with your squad at the moment?

RL: I am very happy with squad. After the initial draft, I felt there were a gaps in the squad but during the trade window we plugged those gaps with quality players.

WWN: Can you run us through your thought process when you made your pre-season signings?

RL: Well the Premier League requires you to have a certain amount of English players in your squad and to make sure we met this requirement, I signed good, English players (And Dave Kitson). Pavle Ninkov was signed as we needed a good right back, and his long throwing ability will hopefully make us a threat from all set pieces.

WWN:Thank you for your time.

Why don't you find a set of kits you like and just go for that team regardless of where they are or what league they are in??

Thats a good idea....or I could support the best team....
