What Effects Regens?

Clearly the level of your youth facility makes a difference, but I've managed clubs with top youth facilities and still go years without producing anything more then a decent regen. And yet, certain clubs Ghana with worse youth facilities make 4 or 5 very good regens a year. Brazil is also overflowing with top regens.

Also, what do Youth Academies do? There are loads of clubs who have just basic youth facilities and still have a youth academy, so what do they do in-game?

I'm trying to figure it out for years!! in some previews FMs i thought it depends on having coaches with good "J.Pot.Ability" and "working with youngsters", but now i think is absolute random...

Reputation of your nation seems to be a major factor thus making Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Italy the main producers of top regens.

I dunno, I dont think many re-gens come from your club. In 09 I had one re-gen for villa in 8 years that was a championship level striker, all the rest were useless. It's annoying because of all the home grown laws now a days :/

I'm in a 2025/2026 save (with Palermo) and there is lots of good regens, but not like thompe said, many are from small nations, like Bosnia, Iceland, Estonia, South Africa etc etc. There are few Argentina players and I don't see much Brazilian players in top European Clubs. I produce some decent youngsters, many are good for mid table teams, only 2 of them were world class players (they where produced before i arrived to the team, when the youth level where not in the maximum level)
