Nathan mufc fan
Fabio Quagliarella's agent has claimed that the Sampdoria striker could join Manchester United before the start of the new season. Silvio Pagliari maintains Sir Alex Ferguson made a £10million bid for his client recently and, if the offer still stands, then the Italian international could be on the way to Old Trafford. Quagliarella has become one of the most in-demand strikers in Serie A since his move to Samp last summer, and the 23-year-old announced his potential to a wider audience with two stunning goals in Italy's recent Euro 2008 qualifier against Lithuania. After scoring 13 goals in 35 league appearances for Samp last season, his agent has now opened the door to a possible move to England. "One month ago, Manchester United made a £10million offer," said Pagliari "We believe Fabio is worth between €15 to €20million (£10 to £13million), hence if the English club's offer still stands, he could probably go abroad." United chief executive David Gill has previously hinted that the English champions are seeking to purchase a new striker after already reinforcing their squad with the additions of Owen Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=472026&CPID=21...ID+FOR+SERIE+A+STAR'
Nick OGS20
FABIO AGENT HINTS AT UNITED SWITCHSampdoria striker Fabio Quagliarella could join Manchester United this summer, according to the player's agent. The Italy international is one of the hottest forwards in Serie A and is believed to be a target for several elite European clubs. "One month ago, Manchester United made a £10million offer," claimed Quagliarella's agent, Silvio Pagliari. "We believe Fabio is worth between 15 to 20 million euros (£10-13million), hence if the English club's offer still stands, he could probably go abroad." Quagliarella joined Samp last summer from Ascoli, although his sporting rights are co-owned by both the Genoa outfit and Udinese. The 23-year-old made 35 league appearances for Sampdoria last season, scoring 13 goals. His performances earned him a call-up to the national team, and earlier this month he scored his first two goals for the Azzurri during Italy's 2-0 Euro 2008 qualifying win against Lithuania. With such an impressive start on the international stage behind him, it comes as no surprise that Samp are anxious to keep hold of the in-form hitman. "More than ever, we want to keep Fabio's services," said Samp's club administrator Giuseppe Marotta. "We will only stop if faced with an extraordinary offer." Nick OGS20
it was discussed in the death throes of the old thread, yeah. be interesting to see how the club handle it. another friendly \O/: BREAKING NEWS: VALE LAND PRE-SEASON CLASH WITH MAN UTDPort Vale have landed a glamour pre-season friendly with Manchester United. The Red Devils have agreed to come to Vale Park on Wednesday, July 25 (7.30pm kick-off), to the delight of Valiants chairman Bill Bratt. He said: "Alex Ferguson came here two seasons ago when his son Darren was playing with Wrexham. We asked about a friendly and he said they couldn't do it that summer, but he would see what he could do. "He has come through and done it and we are delighted. "A lot of their side will be reserves, but all the players at Manchester United are good and would grace any side. "They are the Premiership champions and to get them here is a great precursor to the season and it should be a very exciting game." Manchester United were last at Vale in September, 1994 for a League Cup tie which drew a crowd of 18,600. Some Vale fans complained that United rested established stars such as Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, Gary Pallister and Peter Schmeichel. But the young team fielded by Ferguson that evening included a first start for a barely-known midfielder called David Beckham. Paul Scholes also made his first start, Gary Neville only his second....and the team also included Roy Keane, Denis Irwin, Brian McClair, Nicky Butt and Keith Gillespie. Lee Glover netted for Vale, but Scholes scored twice in a 2-1 win. The July 25 match follows United's three-game Asian tour, which concludes on July 23. The Red Devils are then at home to Inter Milan on August 1. Vale and Doncaster are the only two English clubs to have friendlies against United confirmed. The fixture completes an impressive pre-season line-up for Vale, who also entertain Sheffield Wednesday on July 28 (3pm) and Manchester City on August 1 (7.30pm). might do that as well.
