You realise that 90% of your real footballing knowledge has in fact come from FM. I put Bojinov in my dream team this year based on his FM07 ability.

I have to say I own all my football knowledge to CM/FM!!!!

When you're sitting half-way through a crucial exam that could get you to uni or not, and your mind slips away to working out who to play in the upcoming game against Inverness prior to a UEFA Cup game against Fenerbahce. You try to focus on German nationalism in the 1850s, but deep down you're trying to work out whether it'd be best to rest your German right-back and get him to full fitness for the Fener game or risk it as you're chasing Rangers in first anyway and your other right back should be good enough in Europe.

When you sign Titus Bramble, make him your captain, and after his first start the media criticizes his start and you say "I am sure that he will get used to our system" then you use an editor to max out his stats and sell him to your rival for 120M then you reset them once he has left. I wonder if you could copy him and make an entire squad of Titus Brambles....Bramble FC is the future!

A whole squad of Titus', Its called Newcastle United aint it?

that doesn't mean you're addicted - that just means you're rubbish.

When you hear a Commentator describe a player as a hot prospect and you sit back smugly thinking, i allready knew that. Happened to me when Jose Baxter made his debut for Everton this season

Also when you start treating FM as prefect, and believing that the real world is merely a reflection of what FM says should happen.

When you are pleased to see a player playing for a non-league club because he tormented your team on a previous version of FM. Nathan Jarman always scored against me on FM07 for Wolves so i was very pleased to see him playing i think in the Blue square south.

When you attempt to strangle your laptop following a defeat (you know who you are Mark!!)

Oh can we not start this again! I'll give you credit for Uche, but Baxter was my prodigy in that Spurs game, him and Adriano were deadly and you cant deny it. Even if i give you Baxter my list is huge: Lulinha, Matias Feranadez, Veloso, juan Arango, and thats just for starters!

Folks you know you are addicted to FM when you argue with your friends about who 'discovered' various players!

You play it pretty much every day since you were 11. You are now 23.

Lmao!

you wake up at 8am to write an essay and then find 3 hours later you still haven't added a word. But at least I'm 3 months down the line on my file icon_biggrin.gif

Gosh, the amount of times i've done that.

You lose a game & you say to yourself, "I'm not playing this anymore! The games are fixed!". Yet the next day you load it up and carry on playing.

So trueeee.

You have a 1 year old daughter and can't remember her name. But you do consider signing her to a pre-contract deal anyway.

That made me laugh out loud for a good 5 minutes.

Ya know when your addicted when you get called for dinner but can't be assed to move, so you pay your younger sibling to bring you your dinner and then feed you whilst you shout neemingless tactics at your squad... even though there not playing.

When at the completion of the match, you get up and shake the door handle as if it was the opposing managers hand and wish it good luck for the future.

and

When you think the refs missed a blatant offiside or penalty etc. you yell at your wardrobe asking were it got its refereeing credentials

you start checkin the scores of a team u dont support just because you had a good career as there manager on FM! (i do with Cambridge).

also when you see a player join a different club and are gutted your team didnt sign him just like you did on FM and he scored 30 in one season and won you the league

Yep done that! I support 3 teams ManU and Accrington and my FM best career team of the time lol

All true :)

When you ignore your dog's telling you he has to relieve himself outside and saying he can keep it up until your next match...two hours later and you start noticing the smell!

When you beat the firewall in order to install FM onto your college's laptop, so you can play during class.

I did these. :-) Can't think of more atm.

when you spend your first week at a new sunday league club annoying the manager with tactic suggestions because you kknow best because you are good on fm and end up getting shouted at.

when people ask you how the above match went you immediately think they mean fm

when your not on the game your onthe forums to the extent that you have a meeting with your boss on frifay due to a drop in standard of work

when yuor boss tells you this you think off issuing a press release telling him that u think the criticism was harsh but u will try harder

when u look forward to xmas because its at least 2 full days of fm

when you gotto wathc your team and think your manager has it all wrong and you know how to get the best out of the players better than he does.

theres more when im not so much at risk...

Dont have to concern about that, FM will simply be prohibitted from the house. you will only have FM if you get up earlier than your girlfriend, or anytime she is either too busy or unconscious.

Trust me, I know it all.... :-(

Isnt that the truth!

Some of the posts on here are so true, it makes me laugh so much that other people are exactly the same! The one about saying 30 more mins at 11pm and then still be on the game at 4am is spot on, how many times have i done that! And at that stage you are so wired/focussed it is difficult to stop.

And as I am now married i never get any time to play FM.....she can spend the evening straightening her hair or sorting her clothes upstairs (which gives me a bit of time to watch footy higlights on tv from 3 weeks ago), but if i turn round and say i am going next door for 3hours peace and quiet for FM, i am accused of deserting her and leaving her bored!

And i totally agree with the post about the partner/girlfriend going away for a weekend.....yes it is a shame but the thought of 2 days of pure FM is like winning the lotto....conversely when she comes home on the Friday and says she has changed plans and isnt going after all......well to try and hide my disappointment is almost impossible!

Oh and sorry one last one........does anyone get it in the neck from the wife/girlfriend that i can go to bed at 10pm tired and fall asleep straight away and yet if i was left the option of playing FM i would be awake all night....how do i get out of that one!!!!?

yes, she assures me that i will be able to stay up after her, or, when theres nothing doing, play fm to my hearts content, tho in the back of my mind theres an alarm....

some more..

when, given the opportunity, you would rather (and do) play fm instead of looking at porn

when you're watching something on tv/having a convo while on fm and u cannot see or hear anything and just look up every 10 mins and go either yes, or WHAT?

when walking anywhere by yourself (or in extreme cases with somebody) and you are mumbling while thinking of tactics, eg on way to work this morn i was walking from the bus stopp going 'well i think i need a dm but my striker plays best here...etc etc

when you would rather buy a new laptop than share with ur better half/parents/siblings because they mite stop u playing fm

when, altho u love him dearly, u dread your bro coming because while you spend months on a season badly, he wins the quadruple in about 3 days

when you and frends go out and you spend all night talking fm and fail to notice anything 9every possible including gf talking to lots of men)

when you shout at the screen when playing alone, forget you are alone and look up to see wierd looks from all your family

when people who say 'its only a game' make u seethe
