Why doesn't FM just list a player's natural position?

Recommended Posts

What's wrong with this picture (I've cut out the club, nationality and name of this player so it doesn't burn the eyes out of our fellow LLaMas):

0dd.jpg

He is a Natural Central Midfielder, but is also accomplished at DM and AMC.

What does his positions say? Defensive Midfielder, Attacking Midfielder (centre), [*club*]

Not even a mention of his natural position!?

No no no! He is a CENTRAL MIDFIELDER. Why doesn't it say that?

This really annoys me, especially when I sifting through my shortlist and I'm looking for (obviously) a NATURAL CM. I will actually look past this player because (according to the game) he's NOT a natural CM.

Ridiculous. Just list each player's natural position first, and then you could check his position screen to see where else he can play.

SI like to mess about and do things arse about face, don't they?

To be fair, is there a player capable of playing as a defensive midfielder and attacking midfielder but not a central midfielder?

The M/AM nuances always amuse me.

Always thought Pirlo was one of those. Guess it would just be a technicality though.

Actually they announced this will be implemented in FM10.

Really? I missed that one. That is good news.

Fair point, it's just an irritant. :D

I think the best way to list a player's position would be thus:

Player Name

Midfield [central], (Defensive Midfielder, Attacking Midfielder [central])

You know? List his natural position and then add all his other positions in brackets. Sorted
