    2019 2020

I have been playing Championship Manager since it launched. I have had most of the FM updates too. This is just a little thread with my suggestions for improving the game experience: -Use the Fifa style of contract negotiations where you can see the player and their agent. -Don't be so black and white with buying and loaning...players will move clubs and do so for less money at times. -Bring some fun into it as it is NOT real! E.g. players being caught out drinking and the tabloid side of it all! -Be able to have a better 2 player experience on one computer. E.g. One plays as the Assistant Manger and one as the manager. -Make scouting and attending trials worthwhile! - VAR should be introduced - Ability to go and watch other games from the stands on scouting (but make it worthwhile) - Much more communication between the chairman and the manager - A reason to not go on holiday...quick jump between games! -LIVE connection between the game engine and real life events. This is not as tricky as it sounds. A basic example would be players moving clubs in real time to reflect what is happening in real life (internet connection). More in depth would involve players form being linked to actual real events! -Players to be a flop! Yes, thats right! Big name signings that do nothing. E.g. Shevchenko to Chelsea, Torres and Grabbi at Blackburn. On the other hand, average players having a run of form and doing well (their stats going up and down significantly to reflect real life). -As with last point...Morale and confidence to mean something. Poor morale and confidence should dramatically effect composure, teamwork, concentration etc....stats should be fluid and always changing. Player impresses in training and manager fights his corner then he should get better stats!
  2. It always frustrates me when a real life manager has made terrible signings that you can't sell on in the first window (+ sometimes struggle in Jan!)... Can SI give an option to start from the final day of the previous season before any signings have been made? + Give you the opportunity to hang on to players with expiring contracts?... Would be an interesting challenge especially when you're taking over promoted/relegated clubs and/or clubs that need a big squad overhaul - and when real-life manager made a ludicrous and expensive deadline day signing that you can't get rid of... (Fellaini to Utd, Konchesky to Liverpool, Torres to Chelsea, Andy Carroll to Liverpool, etc)...
  3. Hello everybody! I purchased the in-game editor today from steam and I decided to run some Football Manager 2019 experiments using either the pre-game editor or the in-game editor. I have a list of experiments to do already but everybody is free to suggest experiments for me to do and I will add them to the list!! Some experiments will be only a few months or a season long, while others may last several years. LIST OF EXPERIMENTS (Strikethrough indicates completed) Eddie Howe to Manchester United (2-3 year simulation) Created 200 PA, 16 year old player at Partizan Belgrade (15 year simulation) Best player at each Prem club by CA becomes English (10 year simulation) Robert Lewandowski to Borussia Dortmund (5 year simulation) Current top 3 clubs in Championship moved to Premier League (1 year simulation) Note: The top 3 will be based on the table when I am doing this experiment Newcastle United given £500,000,000 transfer budget (5 year simulation) Move England U19 squad to Rotherham United (10-15 year simulation) That's the list - I will edit the message as experiments are completed or added to the list. Updates will come either once or twice a season, depending on the length of the experiment.
  4. Just watched the Alpha play through on YouTube. Thanks to the team for sharing it with us, was great to see. Thought it would be good to put my thoughts/observations in a thread for people to comment on and critique. Brief summary of things I noticed: Positives The new tactics system is an easy "guide". The styles of football could be replicated in previous versions, if the right instructions were used. Having said that, I do like it more now. I did not see any of the transitions in play - maybe I will be proved wrong when I see more comprehensive highlights of the match engine. Perfect for the new player, but has lots of depth for those FM old-timers. Training looks interesting - more emphasis now on dynamics and specific attribute growth etc. Probably the biggest and best change. VAR - its fun, and will be good to see where it applies. Induction - not relevant to me, but good for new players. Bundesliga licence - don't usually play Bundesliga, but I may do it this time around. Licensing is always good for FM. Constructive Criticisms UI - I wish they would focus less on things like colours and just make it easier to navigate. I have never had an issue with the new UI (since the sidebar) or colours. This version will have far too many hidden pages/too much info. I think the game needs a big cull of unnecessary pages, graphs, etc. I don't care for features like different colours for ratings in game. In my opinion, it just seems like wasted time where SI labour could be used on bigger and more landmark features. Match Engine - I play on 2D Classic, but the 3D looks virtually the same. I would rather have fixed goalkeepers and player animations etc than ball physics. Stadium upgrades are welcomed. I would love to one day play with the 3D engine all the time, but it does not feel real enough for me at the moment. Dynamics - I really did not feel a difference between '17 and '18 when it came to squad dynamics. Everything that affected dynamics did not change (conferences, feedback, mentoring), so the experience was not translated to the player. All I do in FM 18 is see it on a new screen and use the same responses/team talks when there is an issue. Are player promises fixed? Press conferences - all the same except for faces and background, people will get bored and leave to the assistant. Before match plans - I think many players will leave to the assistant. No real changes except a reskin, although it does look simpler in parts. Pre-match/half time talks - they all generate the same responses as FM 18. Players will learn what and when to say something. Transfers - no mention whatsoever of AI transfer dealings and fees etc. has the finances section been changed in anyway? All in all, with the exception of tactics and training, SI seem to be re-skinning and fixing issues that were created by the previous iterations of FM, rather than revolutionising the match engine, which has to be the next focus IMO. They listened, and have fixed the glaring gaps that FM 18 has. It may seem as though I listed more negatives, but I will be buying the game nevertheless. Let me know your thoughts.
  5. So my big annoyance right now is being swamped with every team wanting me to be there manager. I have being playing since 1992-93 floppy disk version. I honestly find the game pretty easy, but still love to take conference sides to the champions league. The issue is I get promoted pretty much every season until championship. Then the job offers and media linking me to every club begins to clog my news feed up. Every day I have to dismiss rumours of me leaving to manage another club. Now as a manager going up three or four leagues from conference to championship, if it was like newly promoted premier teams, foreign top league games then it would make sense right? But its 90% teams in the same league as me who are bottom of the league or mid table, when I am top of the league... Obviously its because the games reputation system, so my club usually Barnet have low rep, hence Bolton or Norwich (currently in my game in L1 with me) are much bigger clubs, so it kind of makes sense. But in reality theres no way I would leave a club I have got promoted 3 times to go to a club struggling in the same league. So... I think to make the game more realistic and improve immersion I should be able to put a press release out affirming my commitment to my club. This in turn will stop all the job offers and media questions about me leaving for some struggling team in the same league as me or below. Make it so only really big offers come in. Like two leagues above minimum. For a time period after the press release. There could be other press released as well. I think there are already some, but just for me this is my biggest gripe playing the game. It gets really annoying and really breaks my immersion. What do you think guys?
  6. Well i think it's that time of the year when we're all anxious about the next FM release... What improvements and features would you like to see in FM19? My suggestions: Dynamic regens - based on the history and management of the club over several years attracting good and or less competent regens to the club etc. Better match engine and graphics - this is obvious. I know we wont see it change all that much in FM19 but it's important for immersion. Captain shout-outs - Allowing or nominating the captain of the team to instruct further instructions on the pitch. That''s all i can think of for now. I'll edit if more comes to mind.

    Changes in FM 19

Hello. I have thought about two changes in FM 19, as suggested below: i) The designers of the game may improve the "sounds" section of the game by adding the national anthems of the national teams before every game, when 2 national teams face each other. In matches where one of the 2 teams hosts the game, may be heard the anthem of both teams, first the one of the host. In international competitions, such as the World Cup, the national anthem of both of teams there may be heard as well, as happens in real life. Also, in continental competitions, such as the European Champions League, may be heard the anthem of the competition before every game. I believe these two changes will add realism to the game and increase fun. ii) Another improvement would be to add some exam tests that players-managers will have to pass in order to gain higher level diplomas. For example, may be necessary to watch 5-6 videos, which will also be available in YouTube, with subtitles in the language that the user has set as the in-game language of FM and with the option to skip these lessons. Additionally, an option may be available to give the exam again after some days, in case of failure of the first test, by giving some more money. Such an improvement will help players understand deeper the principles and ideas underlying football management and help them become more passionate with Football Manager. The videos will have to do with tactics, philosophies and "secrets" that will make more interesting football management. They will reveal the methods that underlie the modern football and help players both understand deeper the principles of football and play with more enthusiasm and much more knowledge Football Manager.
  8. Hello, my fellow managers how has your day been so far? Good, well, brace in, get another cup of coffee if needed, because I'm going to be telling you some changes that I want to see in the next version of FM! By some changes, I mean a lot of changes! You may be wondering why I am talking about Football Manager 2019 when it is at least 8 months away, I feel that there is no such thing as too early to talk about change when it is needed! Now, let's crack on! *= Urgent, MUST HAPPEN ASAP! Wishlist: A change I would like to see made to All platforms for FM(Full version, Touch, Mobile): *Option to offer an assist bonus to players in contract negotiations - In real life, midfielders who don't score as often as strikers are offered assist bonuses to entice them. If Football Manager wants to retain its selling point as a game that is as close to reality as possible, then this change should be implemented in the next version of the game! Addition of Backstory to Managers: Position they played in their career, which could influence what badges could be attained, Personalities, Managerial styles, Marital Status, Relationships with other managers and players, etc. More Tactical Control: Ability not to order any crosses into the box or the ability to add a tactical instruction to send through balls. Changes to FM Touch Exclusively: *Ability to buy an In-Game Editor that manipulates the details of players, managers, staff, chairmen, fanbases, stadiums, awards, and tournaments or if a manager completes some kind of task, the unlockable should be offered up for free! I don't mean to be insulting when I say this, but how does it make sense for me to be able to buy an in-game editor on the mobile version, yet not on the Touch version? I believe that the ability to buy this unlockable should be accessible to all platforms of FM! Press Conferences for Important Matches, such as Derbies and Cup Competitions, new signings, as well as occasional tunnel interviews! Changes to FM Mobile: More attributes provided in a profile of a player, more specifically, set-piece attributes. In a scouting report of a player, I can see the player's proficiency when referring to set-pieces, yet I cannot see their attributes. I hope this is changed in FMM 19, but it's nothing urgent! Ability to create a manager that as young as 20.
  9. Just a quick suggestion. I noticed in real life that are cash prizes given in each league depending on the finish position. For example, the Portuguese Premier League gives £40M to the winner, and less so for each other team down the grid. I wonder if this is something FM will add into their game next year, it would make the game much more realistic and exciting!!
  10. Good afternoon, Interactive Sports Team! It would be very cool, more complete and realistic an FM19 version with the expansion and opening to manage and take care of the basic categories of the club, such as La Masia de Barcelona, among other clubs. Sub-12, 13 ... As well as coordinating schedules of club fellowship, scheduling and choice of periodic training camps in other countries. And even including a little more about the moods of individual and group players, a little more about their personal lives. Interview with family. Who knows, do not set this type of planning in the game update draft for 2019. It is my thoughts, tips and opinions, here in Brazil. And you guys, what do you think? A big hug to everyone!
  11. I'd like to see a randomised playing career based on what playing level you select for your manager, like the caps you can see for internationals but with club history, like you can with real managers. I think this would give the game a more realistic feel. Maybe we could choose what club we started out with then it randomise the rest, or have the option to leave it to the randomiser and it choose based off of where we were born.

    Suggestions for Create-A-Club

Have a couple of idea for create-a-club - mostly when creating your own players. -> be able to choose not only first nationality, but second / other nationalities & birthplace, so that when starting the game, all the players from foreign nations you create don't just magically gain citizenship of the home country. -> on a similar note - be able to add international caps to a player you've created ->make the kit making a bit simpler - when i try to make new kits I find it very difficult to see what colour will affect which part of the kit meaning I have to go through a couple of times to make the kit I wanted -> being able to change club colours - just be nice to have a club as your favourite colour

    [Suggestion] Minor tweaks

This is my first post, so go easy on me! Been playing football manager since 2001 I think, and only just decided I think I could chuck a few idea's for the new one! Let me know what you think!! As much as we'd all hate it, player power is a part & parcel of today's game. On my West Ham career mode I found my top players gaining interest from Barcelona, but managed quite easily to get them to stay put. In today's game, something like that would probably force a player to go on strike, refuse to train or Play, and I'd like to get more 'jip' and playing up from the agents and player's. Such as them really trying to engineer a move, being spotted away, isolating from training, even players having bust up's on the training pitch due to conflicting personalities etc etc. Other things I'd like to be added is increased manager interaction, Mourinho on my game always gets one over me and loves to gloat about his success. I'd like some way to implement that on the touch line, e.g ignore handshake, maybe mind games on the touchline with the manager, making rival games have that 'edge' we all know and love. Really vamp it up. Lastly I think the 3d match engine needs a lot of work, the match when in progress, you tend to know after a while of playing what's leading to a goal and what isn't, even with extended highlights, again like managers, I'd like to see more player interaction, such as more gripping tackles, game getting an edge, players having 'argie bargie'. Pushing each other, as I think in these big games, it feels too clean. We'd all like a hot headed player getting fouled one too many times and retailiates and a fee players get involved in mini scuffles. This would also give you the option of trying to wind up opposition players and get them to lose their head to benefit you. Got a few more ideas but I'd love to hear what some of you think!

    FM2018 SuggestionsS

Few ideas: 1. Allow GK/Fitness Coaches to get coaching badges, not sure why this has been removed recently. 2. Accurate Boardroom job titles and responsibilities. Different structure are clubs will require different interactions with manager. I.e. Chief executive deals with manager, chairman is absent and deals with things thru media. When ownership changes structured change/board room tussle's etc. All can impact the managers position/budget/expectations. 3. International Management, make contracted terms enforced, I.e they go onto end of a term and a renegotiating needs to happen for them to stay. On FM2017 Gordon Strachan stays perm even though it shows he has a contract that expired previously. 4. More international management creativity around requests for greater grass roots development and centre of excellence which boosts some elements of domestic league football over a long term (regen improvements). 5. Accurate chairman/board of FA'S, who move and change with similar impacts as club management.
  15. I'd be interested to see a feature where you could set individual targets for players, that could work in a similar fashion or even expand on the current "team talk" and "player interaction" options. For instance, setting a target of 20 goals for the season for your striker that would then give motivational, relationship and stats benefits if successful and vice versa. These could be set over 1 / 3 / 6 month periods or a complete season. Other examples could include: - Complete xx number of assists / tackles - Have a pass ratio of xx - Keep xx no. of clean sheets - Don't get more than xx yellow / red cards or disciplinary points - Improve in heading ability - Achieve average form of xx To ramp it up, you could even set really challenging goals with greater rewards for success / failure: - Achieve player of the month - Score a hat-trick - Win player of the year - Break the club goal scoring record I know there are similar options for achieving goal scoring targets / appearance etc when negotiating contracts and bonuses but these are much more specific and offer a greater risk / reward quotient. Ambitious / determined / controversial players could respond very differently to the varying targets given their appropriate stats would give a much more hands-on man management option to players. Any thoughts greatly received.

    Suggestions I have

I'm a big fan of Football Manager, I started playing at FM2014 and have owned all PC and Mobile versions since. I'm just gonna be giving my suggestions for PC only. 1) An improved engine - I feel that a new or improved version of the current engine is needed for better graphic fidelity and smoother / more natural looking animations. Don't get me wrong, animations were an improvement here, but graphics weren't so much of an improvement. 2) More types of tweets - I tend to see a lot of the same tweets, word for word, on the social media feed. I think there needs to be A LOT more variation just so it doesn't get old so quick. 3) More social media - I think the inclusion of the twitter style feed was super cool and would like to see another one maybe in similar fashion to instagram. Here is an example for how his could work: Manchester United sign a player like Kasper Dolberg. Too announce the signing a picture is posted of him holding or wearing the Man United kit and there's a little caption and hashtag or two. Then the player would also post something like this, as well as the league, and maybe fans too. 4) More User Friendly UI - I don't have many problems with the current way it is but I would like to see a redesigned UI that just flows better and is simpler to use. The current UI can be difficult to figure out for new players even with the hint system. 5) Licensing - I know it is expensive, but I need more than Everton and Watford licensed when I drop 60 USD on the game. 6) Better training system - Maybe something kinda like Fifa introduced in Fifa 16 except instead of 5 players, you can do the whole team. An example: You can watch the training, it would take 2-5 minutes. All players do the training they are set to do as well as a generalized team training. After it is done, you can view a training report and see which players had a good session, bad session, got hurt, improved, or worsened, etc. If you don't want to watch the training, a simulate button or automatic button or something should be there. 7) Better youth system - Growing youth players can be super super difficult. I'm not sure exactly what needs to be done to improve this but I do feel it could use a change. This is all I could think of for now. If you've got any ideas, post them.
  17. I was thinking that it would be nice to build more into the whole "relationship with other managers" side of the game. How about as a relationship builds with another manager, for example someone at a higher club, he now and then recommends a player to you. Let's say I was managing in the Championship or lower and Arsenal played a team of that level in one of the Cup competitions or a friendly and Wenger sees a player he like but knows isn't at Arsenal's level he could send a recommendation to me. It would mean that there was a real advantage to being friends with another manager
  18. This is one for which I'm especially curious to hear other people's thoughts and experiences. In real life, teenagers that can perform at the top level are exceptionally rare, and when one appears it's a big deal. (They also usually have been incubating a while in the lower tiers of youth football, which makes the sudden appearance of a fully formed 15-17 year-old even more jarring, but we'll assume this is merely a side-effect of not being able to include real kids that grow from younger in the game legally.) In FM, however, it seems there is often a disproportionate amount of highly skilled newgens being generated, resulting in a a disproportionately high amount of teenagers in the starting lineups of clubs and national call-ups in the seasons following your first. I understand that there are talented youngsters appearing IRL all the time (and, some, like Donnarumma, might seem unrealistic if they had happened in a game but now seem understandable in real life, altering our expectations), but I can't be the only one who sometimes feels like the game hypes them up a bit - both in terms of frequency and specific attributes being impressively high from the start - to make hunting for them more fun and fulfilling, and make rebuilding your squad without names to go off of in the future a bit easier simply by improving the odds. For the sake of realism, should newgens be toned down a bit, or maybe just made more rare, or is their current level a necessity for the game to run smoothly? What's the point of trying to grow the real life youth players you start with if you know someone better and far more evolved with inevitably appear soon after? Do other FM players have wildly different experiences than me and it's not always this way? Here are some examples of really good newgens that maybe are a little too good (who has 20 attributes at 15???).
  19. 1.The first thing I noticed is that I can't criticised my own players. Why is it like that? 2.Wrong distribution of points after 30 in LOTTO Ekstraklasa:when the club have ex.63 points, after the division have 32,because the points to coved(eventually "rounding" if my translator tranlsated wrongly;63:2=31,5≈32).If the teams after the division have the same points, the higher position determines the position before the division. 3.The Board is only satisfied from my job even when I won Polish FA Cup and leadering now in league. He shouldn't be "delighted"?

    fm graphics wishlist

i am hoping with this thread that some of our ideas may get implimented in future versions and to start us off i would like to have a tool or something that will convert SI's .sia formats so that we can add our own stadiums. secondly i would like to be able to add either .gif format or the new animated png format so we could have moving hoardings around pitch. so if its anything to do with graphics add your thoughts
