Hello guys, I am managing Harrogate Town alongside Wales U21s in my FM19 Career. My club was expected to relegate this season but we managed to qualify for the playoffs in Vanarama National League. Due to such good and unexpected performance my club owner accepted my demand of associating with an affiliate club. We got offers from three clubs and we decided to affiliate with Stoke City. So I wanted to get some players on loan from them which I thought was pretty easy and smooth though it didnt come out to be so. Whenever I want any U23s or U18s player on loan, they never cooperate and instead ask a much higher fee just like any other club would. So I wanted to know how the affiliate system works and how can I benefit from my affiliate. Thank You.
In a shock move, Gary Rowett has left Stoke City for reasons he's yet to divulge. Short of options to replace him, a short term deal was given to one of the youth coaches, with the thought that it was the Championship, and they shouldn't need too much to get promoted back up. The coach, though is a bit of an idealist, and believes that tiki-taka is the true beautiful game, and wants to play full on Stokelona, not only that but with future transfers being exclusively British an Irish talent. So yeah, we have a lad who's desperate for Stoke to play pretty continental football, with home nation players, if that wasn't enough of a mixed bag, he's the spitting image of a hard rock legend, name and all... The board have also indicated that they expect him to develop players using the club's youth system. Which is handy, as it's not exactly a great youth setup they have... Then again, it's not bad either, could have it decent in short order. So that's the story, starting with Stoke, British and Irish only(barring kids from intakes), and all tactics have to be variations of the tiki taka and possession systems. They're the systems I'm looking at for now, but I expect plenty of tweaking along the way. Lots of things here I generally don't do, from multiple playmakers, to style of football, or even playing without a pure defensive role midfielder. First order of business was to drop Tymon into the senior squad and starting eleven, next was to take Verlinden off the loan list, and again, make him a first choice winger. While we're in the Championship, might as well develop the key prospects.
