  1. How ling AFTER a new stadium has been built must you wait to build a new one? In old threads I've seen a guy at Ajax who built a new stadium every 20 years, and also heard numerous other people talking about the "20 year rule". However, recently I've seen people say its 25 years... Does anyone know for sure what the minimum number of years is between new stadiums?
  2. Tired of looking at the same old generic stadiums and FM ads during nearly every match? Hoping to add a little variety and diversity to your match-game experience? Wanting to give each stadium its own club color and culture? This mod turns FM’s generic adboards into club-specific colors, flags, and banners, giving each stadium its own flair and feel and adding some much-needed individuality to the 3D match-game engine. One of the biggest complaints of the FM gaming system is how little diversity is shown in each club stadium, and how gamers can’t really adapt or change those stadiums. While this mod doesn’t adjust the physical structure of the stadiums, it at least adds some flavor to each match experience. Roma, Serie A Tottenham EPL Celtic, UEFA Real Betis, La Liga I originally created this mod for FM14 (https://community.sigames.com/topic/312095-fm-14-released-custom-match-engine-supporters-flags-and-club-logos-for-individual-stadiums/) and FM 15 (https://community.sigames.com/topic/335648-fm15-released-stadium-graphicsbanners-for-3d-match-engine/), and worked on it during FM16 and 17 but never posted it because of being too busy with real-world duties. The way that SI changed the video adboard system for FM18 threw me for a further loop, but I think I’ve figured out how to work with it, and I'm nearly ready to share the results. The prior mods were downloaded nearly 11,000 times, so hopefully this will also be of use to people looking for some variety in the match engine. With over 700 clubs and thousands of images, it's not a perfect duplication of a stadium's adboards or look, but at least offers up something new to look at. Coritiba Brazil, static-adboard example Dinamo, Croatia, static adboard example The earlier mods also only featured static adboards that were tied to the teams. What’s exciting this year is not just the addition of video adboards for top leagues, but also that those video boards can be coded to display ads for whatever competition your team is in, while the static adboards in the stadium stands can still reflect the individual team. All thanks to jeffroberts and rabcp for allowing me to integrate their excellent video adboards into this mod, and to the creators of the original config file that I modified for my FM14 release, doc_debil and tv_capper. (Their work focused on integrating corporate ads into the adboards, while mine does more club-specific fan imagery, but their file opened my eyes to what could be done). Several years on, the current config file has been nearly entirely redone. All graphics are mine, culled from scouring the internet for images of club scarves, fan tifos, banners, flags, even PES/FIFA graphic mods. QUICK-FIX VERSION FOR FM19 (WILL WORK WITH FM18 TOO BUT WILL HAVE FM19 GENERIC ADBOARDS) http://www.mediafire.com/file/c0t4gg2ebwj7o6o/CLUB_BANNERS_ADBOARDS_FM19_01.zip/file WHAT'S INCLUDED? Over 700 clubs are featured, including....
EVERY CLUB IN THE…. ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE/SKY BET CHAMPIONSHIP/LEAGUE ONE SPAIN’S LA LIGA / LIGA ADELANTE FRANCE’S LIGUE 1 / LIGUE 2 ITALY’S SERIE A / SERIE B GERMANY’S BUNDESLIGA / 2ND BUNDESLIGA PORTUGAL’S LIGA NOS SWITZERLAND’S SUPER LEAGUE TURKEY’S SUPER LIG HOLLAND’S EREDIVISIE and top Champions-League/Europa League teams from elsewhere in Europe
Each top league (plus Champions League) is coded to automatically display league-specific video adboards along the pitch, and static club-specific boards in the stands. Each lower-league team in the 2nd division (or below) is coded to then “turn on” video adboards if they are promoted to top league, or if they make the Champions League. PLUS COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE OF: BRAZILIAN SERIE A MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER (all clubs) and many lower-division US teams MEXICAN LIGA MX
ARGENTINE PRIMERA DIVISION HEAVY SOUTH AMERICAN REPRESENTATION INCLUDING MANY OTHER CLUBS FROM CHILE, COLOMBIA, URUGUAY, etc,
TOP TEAMS FROM CENTRAL AMERICA FOR THOSE PLAYING IN US/MEXICAN CLUB COMPETITIONS JAPAN’S J-LEAGUE (or “Nihon League” as its called in game) and some J2 League teams
CHINA’S SUPER LEAGUE (most of the clubs) AUSTRALIAN A LEAGUE (all clubs!)
INSTRUCTIONS (This can also be found in download file) A bit complicated, as there are 3 folders, 2 of which are named the same (“ads”), and this year there’s a video adboard folder to worry about, too.
 1. Place first ads folder (the one that has only the fm.xml file inside it) inside the Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2018 folder. 2. Place the large pictures/ads folder inside your FM graphics folder (Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2018/graphics). If you already have a pictures folder, just place the large ads folder within it, so as not to erase whatever else is in your pictures folder, like stadiums, flags, city pics, etc. If you don’t have a graphics folder, please create one. Graphics folder should now read graphics/pictures/ads. See here for visual of both paths: first ads folder is that small one with just the fm.xml file, the second one is in the graphics/pictures folder. (My graphics folder already had other sub-folders for faces, logos, etc, while my pictures folder also has sub-folders for city pics, backgrounds, etc)

 3. Place the simatchviewer_uncompressed folder (this contains the video ads) into the Steam folder located not in the area of the first two folders, but in this chain: For Windows: PCname/Windows/program files/steamsteamapps\common\Football Manager 2018\data For Mac: MacName\Library\application support\steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2018\data (Note: many Mac users have a hard time finder their Library folder. Easiest way is to go to your Finder menu at the top of your Mac, click “Go,” and hold down the option key. The Library path will magically open up.)
Place the simatchviewer_uncompressed folder in the data folder. See here for visual pathway (Mac):

This simatchviewer_uncompressed folder has two sub-folders, one of fonts (which helps some computers read names while with the match engine) and the videos.
 3. Please restart FM18 entirely. (If you just refresh the cache, the game may still not realize there is an entirely new place to find its graphics). Only when FM18 is restarted will it find and read the new ads xml file, and also discover the video ads 4. Go to Preferences/Interface screen in game; please click on Clear Cache, and then Reload Skin. 5. Individual team banners and flags should now appear. Enjoy! Next few posts will feature more examples, plus guides to adding or changing any images, adding your own teams/leagues, and more!
  3. I am starting a save in Serie C. SOme of the team's Stadiums aren't in the Stadiun pack. How do I add a stadium picture and tie it to a specific team? I know there is a unique identifier for the team (or city for a city picture) but I don't know where to find it.

    3d Stadiums

Hello! Why did the developers remove the stadiums for the lower leagues? You play in a stadium with a capacity of 50 people, and it's huge. where are the old little stadiums? is there any way to integrate from the previous version?

  6. So i dont understand why pepole cant make real life stadiums mods. I read a simular post about this and pepole say that sports Interactive has locked this or something, but common surely somone has to do it. The stadiums that are in the game right now sucks and id like real life stadiums. i Think it kind of ruins the atmosphere during games. Sorry for my bad writing and english.
  7. To say the least, I've been a bit disappointed with the FM18 stadia, so I've decided to create a post for uploading pics of stadium oddities as and when I find them. First up is Vale Park. This is a particularly poor effort - not only does the main stand have closed doors on exits, it also has barriers stopping people getting to their seats. Please feel free to add any unrealistic stadium features you see.
  8. Hello I’m looking for help with my sub division playoffs. I have no problem making the database and the sub divisions but when they go into the automatic championship playoff semi final and final they always play at 1000 seater or less stadiums. I’ve looked into the advanced settings and played with multiple options. Nothing is working. Any help will be hugely appreciated.
  9. Not trying to have a moan, and I like the new stadiums designs for larger grounds, but I feel like they have totaly neglected smaller stadiums. Most non-league grounds have small, flat standing places (see 1st picture), but in the game they have put massive sloping stands, why?(see 2nd picture) It is completely unrealistic and it totally ruins a non-league save for me. Having 1 man and his dog standing behind the goal and then working your way up is part of it! And in general the stadiums just look way too big and modern. Also, every stadium seems to have been built in a car park, couldn't there be a row of houses or something behind, they even had that in FM12! (and the stadiums looksed more realistic in FM12 IMO). Would it really be that hard, just to add in small stands that maybe have a bit of wear and tear, and have people standing behind the goal? Most non-league grounds look like the 3rd picture.
  10. Hey, I just wanted to know if anyone knew of teams which had new stadiums being built within the game? I know Tottenham have their new stadium being built by 2018-19 and play at Wembley. Just wanted to see if any other teams had a new stadium being built. Thanks!
  11. Having just seen a screenshot, I see that there are still pillars in big stadiums. When was the last time anyone saw a pillar in a new or new-ish stadium? I can't believe what an oversight this is. Who designed the stadiums? Have they never been to a game or watched one on the tellybox? This was so off-putting in FM16 I turned off the stadiums. I've always thought that the stadiums could be improved; they are too stock. But please, at least in a patch, get rid of the pillars!
  12. Just a little thought that came to me last night. I'm currently playing as a lower league club who are in a groundshare which only provides us with 20% of our gate receipts, this led me to thinking about how long the terms of the agreement would be viable for my club and whether they could ever be re-negotiated. It might be an idea for a potential board request in the future for the board to look into either altering the existing agreement, looking for another more beneficial groundshare or potentially looking at other vacant grounds to rent in your local area. Could also be one of those things that after you have been with the club for a while that they gauge your opinion on before proceeding.
  13. Why is it that the Liverpools Stadium is the most unauthentic in the game? Massive gaps in each corner with huge floodlights there.
  14. Why is the lowest possible setting for corporate facilities set as "Basic corporate facilities" and cannot go any lower? As far as I know, corporate facilities in terms of FM represent executive boxes that are rented out for matchdays and can bring in additional matchday income and it DOES NOT stand for shops, bars etc. that work during other days where there is not a match on. However, I have visited more than enough stadiums in my life that simply do not offer those kinds of facilities. Stadiums just have seats and stands and possibly a seated VIP section for club executives - no boxes for higher prices. Therefore, is there any chance of including a "No corporate facilities" option so that researchers and modders can actually present those stadiums in the right way? If it is something introduced prior to the release of the game, then FM researchers will have a full year to scale down their stadiums for this setting accordingly, some even for the release of the game.
