On signing a new scout to replace the existing one, the options to edit the scouts assignments are greyed out. Gave it a week after the new scout joined and this was still the case.

I understand that buying these Scout packages increases the amount of players available to you via the player search, i think, but doesn't the scouting knowledge also do this? Is it just a quick way of increasing the players available to you? And if so, couldn't you just use this for a week, then go back down to a lower level?

I'm coaching a poor small club with limited scouting staff and resources. I'm scouting for players, and can invite them for trials or scout them. It seems that trial invitations are immediate (the player comes over the next day), whereas scouting my take one week (or game) or more. Is it possible to see how much a trial invitation (per week) costs to my club? And the cost of scouting one player in my country? If so, where in finance please? Which are the pros/cons of trial versus scout, at least from a financial/cost point of view? Thanks,

I have a shortlist with a hundred players or so in it. I also play FMT on Android (Samsung). So having to tediously highlight each player and request they be scouted is an incredibly painful and time consuming task. I have even tried highlighting them all with mouse and keyboard via Samsung Dex, but it doesn't work that way either. Is there any more convenient way around this? I was hoping that there would be a shortlist action to "Scout all players on shortlist", but that doesn't appear to be available ...

https://community.sigames.com/faq/football-manager-2018/156_gameplay/scouting/This FAQ mentions that scouting packages increase the number of players shown in your player searches but the club's scouting range determines which countries the scouts are able to scout. How can I find my club's scouting range? The FAQ mentions that this is on the club’s Board page within the Scouting panel, but I cannot find that in 2020?

As per the title - I never seem to be able to find many players via the Scouting Centre. I don't understand what influences this however - how many reports do you get through the scouting centre? And how do you set it up? Background / Reputation I'm playing as Celtic - it's the 2022/23 season and I'm off the back of a Champions League Semi-Final previous year and Quarter final the year before (plus domestic dominance). In other words, the clubs reputation is growing - 3.5 stars / about 52nd highest in Europe (not huge) - as is Scotland's (now 8th in Europe in terms of Nation Club Co-Efficient). I would expect this to mean more players would be found in the scouting centre - as higher reputation means more attractive to players. Scouting Setup In the Scouting Centre, I have the Scouting Responsibility set to "Manager". I have 6 scouts assigned to - UK and Ireland - Central Europe - Eastern Europe - South Europe - South America - World Cup (usually Scandanavia) There's no restrictions at all on the scouting assignments - they are just on-going. The board themselves don't place any restrictions on Scouting Assignments. I would expect to find more reports as there are no restrictions on the scouting. Chief Scout He has 17 for Adaptability, JPA and JPP. I note he's not very determined (is this influential?) Targeted Scouting Now.... I do a lot of targeted scouting - e.g. getting reports on players from player search / from clubs I look at ad-hoc. That I would expect to take away from the number of players found - but not to the extent I only find 3 in 16 months (e.g. Eastern Europe - only 3 reports since July 2021 - it's November 2022). What should I be doing? How can I find more players via the scouting centre?

I am a big fan of bringing players in on trial. While at a lower league team, it's not uncommon for more than a hundred players to have a trial with my club over the course of a season. This has been the case for years, going back further than FM08. And I like the changes to trials that have happened in the last couple of iterations - I like the idea of the slow reveal of a player's attributes over the course of the first week, I appreciate the verisimilitude of a board saying "Uh no, mate, we're not doubling the town's population this week just so you can look for cheap players; enough's enough", and I like that lower-level teams are more willing to allow contracted (or Non-Contract) players to leave for a week or two for a trial. All good stuff. But, there's a bit of an issue with how this interacts with Scouting. If I've got a player on Trial, training with my team and presumably taking part in any practice games they have, I don't mind scouts identifying this player and recognising if he's any good. However, it takes until a Trial ends for one of my scouts to slap a 'number' on a player, but a Scout report - and I've seen this happen - can be given for a player who's only been on trial with a club for a day, enough for a club to become interested. But a day into a trial, I'm lucky if I know what any of a player's attributes are as a fixed number, while the star rating is often 2-3 gold stars and then the rest black. Sure, there is a star rating and a coach report from the day a player arrives, but it starts off wildly hit-and-miss and not actually much use for a human player (who will probably want to avoid signing a Poacher-style player with 3 Pace). Also, partway through a trial, I still have no idea what sort of contract I need to offer to get a player to sign - something I have a much better idea of after a scout report. It also kind of removes part of the point of a trial. If I could scout a player anyway and get a recommendation on him within a week, it's not actually any more beneficial - within that week - to get him on trial for that time. (And yeah, there are some players who can't be scouted, but can be trialled, I know.) I don't want to get rid of the things that make trialling good, but I wonder if it can be tweaked to make it a more viable option. Maybe Physical attributes are revealed quicker, maybe more Hidden attributes are flagged up, maybe we get a bit of qualitative information about the player ("He's just going through the motions", "He's getting on really well with Player X") or expected wage demands are suggested.

I'm doing a youth only save and have hired one chief scout for the next opposition scouting, is there a point signing anymore? The only thing I can think is they may improve global knowledge and occasionally get some extra youth players, is there any affect on youth pulls from them? Thanks in advance.
