  1. Welcome to my career thread starting with Scottish League One side Airdrie.. Ive really just loaded up all the home based nations down to there lowest possible in England,Scotland,Ireland,N.Ireland and Wales. Also loading in players from Scandinavia giving me a database count of about 37,000,enough i feel for a decent save. Why Airdrie you ask have a read below.. I like playing in Scotland on FM so hopefully this will be a good save and bring back the glory days to Airdrie!!! Also the skin that i am using is the "YACS" skin which can be found in the skins are of the forum..
  2. I'm looking to start a save in Scotland not in the 8th tier or something but in the Premiership or Championship but obviously not Celtic (too easy). It would be the type of save that I would probably write about, being exactly the type of level of team I like to manage (English Championship to League 2). I like a bit of narrative as well so if anyone with a slightly better knowledge of Scotland as any inspiration for me. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated . Cheers.
  3. I started a Youtube series using 2 teams were one is a gaming community and another is a stream team consisting of other friends and viewers. check it out Episode 1 Episode 2 I shall be taking them from English League Two all the way up to Premiership and beyond!!I stream football manager 2017 also mostly the custom save but I am looking for other type of teams to play and challenges come and check it out https://www.twitch.tv/macbearded
  4. (FM17)Dundee United-The future's bright the future's orange,or is it? Dundee United F.C INTRODUCTION: Welcome to my Dundee United thread, ive decided to choose Dundee United as ive noticed a few threads about my beloved Rangers so there wasnt much point in doing another,so i thought about another decent challenge,Dundee United a team who seem to be staggering around the lower reaches of the top table of Scottish Football so here we go. The club was formed as Dundee Hibernian in 1909, playing from the outset at Tannadice Park. They were voted into the Scottish Football League in 1910. After being saved from going out of business in October 1923, the club changed their name to Dundee United in order to widen their appeal. Between 1925 and 1932 United were promoted and then relegated three times, winning the Second Division title in 1925 and 1929.The club achieved little other success until Jerry Kerr became manager in 1959. Kerr's team won promotion in his first season in charge and became established in the top flight, where they remained until 1995.Kerr strengthened the playing squad with Scandinavian imports and United qualified for European competition in 1966, going on to eliminate the now defunct Inter Cities Fair Cup holders Barcelona on their European debut. Jim McLean era (1971–1993) Jim Mclean took over from Kerr in 1971 and his youth policy led to the most successful era in the club's history. United won the Scottish League Cup in 1979 and 1980 and then the Premier Division title in 82/83 The club were also successful in Europe, reaching the European Cup semi-finals in 1984 and the 1987 uefa Cup Final.the latter featuring another elimination of Barcelona.Despite losing to IFK Gothenburg in the final, the club won a FIFA Fair Play Award. McLean retired as manager in 1993, but remained as club chairman. This was Dundee United's most dominant spell it seemed in there history. But he was a feisty wee bugger as you can see here... Since 1993 United won the Scottish Cup for the first time in 1994 under McLean's successor Ivan Golac but were relegated in 1995, returning a year later. Eddie Thompson purchased the club from McLean in 2002 and invested heavily in the team, but with little progress made until Craig Levein became manager in 2006 and successfully restructured the youth system. Shortly after Levein's departure, the club won the Scottish Cup for a second time in 2010 under the management of Peter Houston. After several relatively successful seasons, a slump in form led to United being relegated in 2016.This in stark contrast to there successes in the 80's.

  6. I was wondering how the funding works in this game and with Scottish football, Im playing an online game with my friends, im managing Rangers, hes managing Celtic First season in the Celtic board announced plans to expand the stadium spending 90 million, a bit unrealistic. fast forward to end of season, the the budgets for the 2nd season are given, I managing Rangers got giving £40,000 (£40k) and Celtic got 50 MILLION, again massively unrealistic funds for Celtic. So in total, after spending 16m first season on transfers, then 90 million on stadium, then given 50 million for 2nd season first transfer window, thats £156 million Celtic are spending wtf are these funds?
