  1. As I stated multiple times now, I think it's very annoying and unrealistic how AI managers behave when they are strong underdogs. They play on Defensive mentality, which would be understandable. But not when this means, that basically 50% of total possession happens to be them passing the ball around in their half. I can show you multiple screenshots of games like this, where I with Leipzig as a favourite have sub-45% possession, even though I play on Positive mentality and try to press them as high as I can and force them to play long balls. But they can just chill and pass the ball around. Please watch real life football. I recently saw an analysis of PSG vs. I think Marseille and one bad staggering in their build-up phase forced PSG (!!!) to play a long ball after they got pressed. When you watch underdogs versus Bayern or against the Top 6 in the BPL, this keeping the ball strategy isn't what they do. They sit back, and when they get the ball they go for quick transitions, trying to hit there players out of position. Theoretically this kind of low mentality with defensive roles (I see 4-1-4-1s with a DM, DLP and BWM in the midfield-three pretty often) is meant to replicate this kind of strategy. But it just doesn't. These teams can play the ball through their lines like Tiki Taka Barcelona with players that have questionable technical attributes and when getting pressed by players like Werner and Poulsen, who are absolute beasts against the ball. I'm not stupid, I know this won't be changed for FM19 anymore, but I really hope developers read this and think about this programming.
  2. Why do so many attempted crosses get charged down nearly every time by defenders. Its just so unrealistic and annoying!!
  3. Hi all, I created a long throw routine and it does this weird thing where it puts my two CB's on the sideline, maybe 70% of the time? They seem to be stuck, but they're not. They look like two players warming up in the sideline. I spoke about it in the following YT film and a few people said i should post it here... So here it is for those interested (The link should start at the right point in the video, if it doesn't skip to 3.49). Since recording this it's happened less but still occurs. There have also been variations of it where the CBs on the sideline split apart and do drift in field. Be interested to see what people think. Bug? Quirk? Exploit? Or just a good routine?! ;-)
  4. Hi, So since the last update, I have noticed a huge increase in long shot goals. I've briefly looked into the stats to back this up, I have taken my last 10 games as an example, in which I've had 15 long shot goals from outside the area. To clarify, the standard of player who is scoring these goals are lower division players (Semi Pro) with the long shot attribute at 11 or lower.
  5. Since the 19.3 patch I've noticed that most penalties are now saved. So far this season I've seen 8 penalties, and only 2 have been scored in 17 games. This is both for and against my team. I know keeper reactions were amended in this patch, but maybe it's gone too far the other way? Any thoughts?
  6. Hi, I have very old graphic card that use nvidia driver. I use 2d pitch in matches. 60 FPS when youtube playing in background (very smooth) and 45-50 FPS when not running. FM 2018 didn't have this problem, is it because fm 2019 only have windows mode? I 've laptop on full power&performance settings. Thanks.
  7. I'm loathe to report this as a bug, it's more than likely some kind of glitch caused by my actions prior to it occurring but I thought I'd explain anyways, just in case. Pre-season friendly, season 2, I'm 5-1 up and concede somewhere around the 60 minute mark so decide it's as good a time as any to change everyone. I click the sub button during the replay, change everyone over plus a couple of role switches, and click confirm or okay or whatever it is. I may or may not have intuitively pressed space to pause, actually, during the replay but I couldn't be 100%. Anyways, pitch comes up with other team kicking off - except it flashes continuously, alternating with the 'Waiting for next highlight' team overview screen (the main, normal one), every split second. I'm not sure whether the game was processing really slowly amidst this or not, if it did I didn't notice (it seemed to be 59:38 for long enough for me to remember that precise number). I circumvented it by going settings>commentary only (I always watch on comprehensive and data analyst view) and time passed around 10 in-game minutes or so and I set my preferences back to my, er, preferred ones and everything worked fine. Won 7-2
  8. My friend and i have been having the same issue for months when either of us are spectating the others game, We'd get completely different highlights..like watching completely different games. would love this fixed.

Has anyone else noticed a huge number of goals coming from either direct freekicks, rebounds or flick ons? seems to be every freekick that goes back post ends up in a goal. ruining the game for me. getting to the point when every time i concede a freekick i basically know they are going to score from it. There was 2 goals from freekicks in the game ive just uploaded. these goals happen every game without fail. Canterbury v K Sports.pkm
  10. Well so today its the 2nd time I got issue 'team is warming up' message in the end of the match. All of the highlights text is normally changed but only can't hit anywhere by mouse nor continue by space button. I try to Google for troubleshoot, didn't find any solution. I hit every button, somehow it resolved after escape button pressed Just wanna let fm19 team know this kind of things. Lot of user like those I found on google could tought no way except force close the game (I also did in 1st time)
  11. I have been having bad lag within the match engine, I have more than enough computer specs to be able to run the game without any problem. I managed to find a fix which has worked for me up to now (fingers crossed) Step 1 - Open Steam and access your Games Library - Right-click on Football Manager 2019 -> Properties -> General -> Set Launch Options - Type this in the box: -renderer_direct3D9 - Click on OK, close the window and launch FM19 through Steam Step 2 - From the NVIDIA control panel, click "manage 3D settings" - Once the page is opened, click on "program setting" tab Structure filter - Trilinear optimization - DEACTIVATED / OFF Structure filter - Quality - HIGH PERFORMANCE GPU rendering OpenGL - *SELECT YOUR GRAPHIC CARD* V-Sync - FAST This has managed to fix my lag for me. Hopefully it never returns, fingers crossed.
  12. Is there any way to limit the FPS to 60 FPS? When i set the monitor to 144Hz, everything looks choppy, so i have to downgrade the monitor to 60Hz so it can run smoothly, but it's a pain in the a$$ to be always changing refresh rates when i'm going to play other games...
  13. In between highlights, the actions on the "small fotball pich" on screen is out of sync with the match clock. (In my case, the match clock progresses faster than the action displayed on the "samll football pitch"). My match clock can sometimes show 52 minutes, but the updates on the "small football pich" on screen gives me updates on tacles and fouls commitet at 50 minutes. It could be described like a sort of lag, exept when I get to see actual highlights, the flow of the game is perfect, no lag or jumping in the action. Also, as a result of, or in addition to the clock "lag", I somtimes experience the drop down banner beeing displayed when a player scores or gets a yellow card does not go away. Sometimes, detailes about a goal scored 10 minutes ago is still beeing displayed by the banner, and when my team score another goal, the old banner remains, causing me to doubt which player actually did assist and so on. Below are two screenshots, where number one show the lag in the pitch vs match watch and the other show Milner scoring a penalty, but the banner in the top of the screen still display the info of Salah's goal, scored some time before... Also I just noted, that after kicking off the second half, I get event updates on "the small pitch" from the last five minutes of the first half, before it catches up with the second half...
  14. Hi folks. Anyone else having issues with no pre-match team talk recommendation from your AM? Since around the time of the update(ish) every time I go into a match it just says “there’s nothing that needs to be said, let them go out with clear heads”. But this has been EVERY match so far. But it if I click to let him handle the team talk he will actually give one like “encourage - we are expected to win here go and do it for the fans” etc. I’m using a custom skin so tried to revert to the original to see if it was a Skin issue but it’s not.   15. There are far too many Scandinavians who only have "basic" English skills in the game. I'd argue that most Scandinavians, especially young adults, speak English as near fluently as possible. It's always rather silly that you're given the option of sending Norwegians and Swedes on a language course when they arrive at your club - very unrealistic. Haven't checked players from other countries, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same case in The Netherlands? (The best non-native English speaking country just ahead of the Scandinavian ones). Change suggestion: Don't leave it to individual researchers to set this stat. All Scandinavians (and Dutchmen) should have a very high rating in their English language as a standard.
  16. At 56:40 in the attached PKM there appears to be a blatant penalty call that is completely ignored. Now, I get that in game there can be referee errors, just like there can be in real life, however there is no commentary that acknowledges controversy, or even the hint of a possible foul like there usually is in these circumstances, so it seems like the ME missed it completely. Ironically, for most penalty calls, I can never actually see the foul, I just see the attacking player flail about to indicate something happened.   19. My midfielder who is told to "stay back if needed" goes forward on corners leaving opposition attacker completely alone, because the one who is told to "stay back" takes the corner. However, on freekicks the player who is told to "stay back" does so, but now my other player feels he needs to stay back aswell, even though no opponent is staying forward. So instead of having 1-1 or 2-1 scenarios, I have 0-1 and 2-0 scenarios which makes absolutely no sense...

  21. Before each friendly I've set the Ass Man to give the initial team talk. In each of the previous three matches his advice has been "Let the boys go out there with clear minds. We don't need to address anything at this stage." but be doesn't follow his own advice. In the lastest talk he then said "Go out there and show me what you've got. There are places up for grabs. Impress me." Before previous matches he's given different team talks. I've uploaded a save entitled "DexterHovis_AssManTeamTalk.fm" which was made just prior to the latest incident

  23. Hi! I noticed this in the last match, at 95' a player stopped with the ball in the corner and all players stopped moving until the end, around 30" later! I've uploaded the file "Cardiff - Torino.pkm"
  24. In two recent friendlies, I conceded two goals which were both blatant GK mistakes, both losing the ball to a striker who then tapped the ball into the empty net. In both cases, the DC who passed the ball to the GK was 'awarded' the harsh penalty in his rating, even though in both cases the GK clearly and safely controlled the ball before losing it. I.e. irl these mistakes would never have been attributed to the DCs. I uploaded the two pkms.   25. I just ran a full detail simulation of the English, French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch Leagues to gauge the number of goals. I opted to look at this as I felt my own strikers weren't scoring enough. I will give a more in depth analysis of the EPL as that's the league I know best, and I can compare stats very easily using https://www.premierleague.com/tables First of all the league Table Liverpool won the league with 96 goals, that's actually pretty good and no complaints there. Based on Liverpools goals thus far and with ten games remaining, Liverpool are unlikely to better the Goals For that the Game has simulated that they'll hit. Arsenal on 82 Points is very high, again they'll be unlikely to finish higher than this in real life. 3rd and 4th is an issue. Man City managed 57 goals and Man Utd hit 64. At this point in the game City have exceeded that goal total with 10 games to go and United are close to that with ten games to go. Safe to say both United and City will end up with a lot more goals than the game simulated. Also compare this top 4 with top 4 of Premier League seasons gone by: 2017/18 Table Man City (106) Man Utd (68) Tottenham (74) Liverpool (84) All goals are considerably lower than what is simulated here. I see that Uniteds goal total in the 18/19 simulation is similar to the goals scored in 17/18, but lets not understate the influence of Mourinho's football! 2016/17 Table Chelsea (85) Tottenham (86) Man City (80) Liverpool (78) The goals this season were much less than what we seen last year and should expect to see this year but are higher than what the game simulates. In review, I'd estimate that overall team goals are slightly too low and need a slight tweaking. By and large no team should expect to break into top 4 without breaking at least the 65 goal barrier (70 seems to be the best average) or close to it. City with 57 goals is the biggest proof in my opinion that this is off, as last team to finish in top 4 without breaking at least the 60 goal barrier was Liverpool in 2005/06. In looking at the top goal scorers Not one player breached the 20 goal mark, the last time this happened was in 2008/2009. Reviewing through the top goal scorers every season, the top scorer has usually broken around 25+ goals The top scorer in this league with 18 goals has often been enough goals to secure you a top 4/5 finish. I'm also concerned with the players in these. Aguero has scored 18 already this season and has only twiced finished a season with less than 20 goals since he came to England. Harry Kane has also never finished a 30 game season without hitting at least 20 goals and he hits 14 (granted Spurs had a bad season). I've also looked across the other leagues. 18-22 goals seems to be the average high....Which is no where near accurate. If SI would like to look at this save, I can upload it and they can review the stats themselves. Thanks
