    Regen Facepacks

    I have used FM regen facepacks in the past as I hate the plastic faces. However, I can't find any for FM 2017. Does anybody have/know where one is that works with FM 2017?
  2. Hey, have an issue where if i upgrade the graphics quality from high to very high - all the hair on every regen and my manager avatar disappears. (Hair on the edit manager section is still there though just not in match engine or on any other screen) I have cleared the cache several times on both the high and very high setting, but nothing fixes this other than simply just leaving it back at high - which is annoying as my desktop can handle way more graphically intensive games at full settings (the Witcher 3, etc).
  3. OK, so not being a racist here, but the skin colours of the regens have been changing. For example many of my regens with lighter skin suddenly become dark skinned, and many players with dark skin randomly become light skinned. They retain their original skin colour in the match engine however. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I think the International appearance of a player is too high in Football manager series, for example in my game, An regen from Saudi Arabiya made his debut in 17 years of age and he retired at 36 years of age after 180 international appearances. He played for top European clubs becoming a world class player in his 25-31 ages so I think there is no sense he plays for his national team that much, I mean he should've just played important matches only like World Cup or Asia Cup and maybe few friendly matches against top sides. The international appearances algorithim is unrealistic for all Asian teams, even for Korea or Japan.
  5. Hi, almost all regen defenders(CB) in Japan are in 170-176 range only which is very unrealistic.Please adjust this issue.
  6. Hi all. I have a regen in my u18 squad that is a pretty good defender with very good ratings for national u19 team but he lacks in jumping reach. He got 181cm at 16 years old and I've been training him as a Central Defender with an individual focus on jumping reach but it didn't increase at all in 1 year. What should I do? Could he ever become an good-ish Premier League defender or I'm wasting my time with him? Could I retrain him in a different position? If yes, which one would suit him better?
  7. I have seen some threads about regen faces complaining about variety, hairstyles etc. But I wanted to bring up one particular issue with the regen/newgen faces: most of them are asymmetric. For the purpose of demonstration I linked a gallery with a few regens below. Gallery I think the issue should be fairly obvious. The two halves of the face do not seem to align at all. This is especially evident at the eyes, which seem to be smaller on the left half and oftentimes slightly differently positioned as well. But also the mouth is very asymmetrical. Now these five examples in the gallery are by no means exceptions, are not the worst faces out there, and took me only 1-2 minutes to find. I would estimate that for almost 50% of newgens this asymmetry is painfully obvious, while even for the other 50% some imperfections are visible upon closer inspection. Is this working as intended? I honestly hope not, because these faces seem completely unnatural and kind of break the immersion of playing longer saves. I hope SI takes steps to improve the faces and does not rely on modders to do all the work for them. Especially since I have been hearing modders complaining about the moddability this year or completely refusing to work on it.
  8. As the topic says, Brexit has arrived and new rules has been applied in England. I havent had the worst Brexit, nor the best I suppose. Is there any chance now to develop young foreign talents? I have bought Rodrygo, he is 18 years old. Is there any other choice than to loan him out, and hope for the best?
  9. ok so basically I've had a regents come through my academy, with high determination and potential (potential, he needs a lot of work). So I picked him as one player id attempt to develop the most, he was even a club supporter. he was inconsistent, which was my major qualm, I loaned him out for first team experience and also because I could get scouts to watch him and give him feedback to help improve him. So this is when it gets interesting; he said he didn't want to be loaned I reassured him it was for the best, he was still being difficult but hey. he was putting in some sub standard performances like 6.5 over 7 games so I said relax it will come, he said I don't want to be loaned out this is your fault. pretty much. then his personality changed which is a mechanic I've not seen before but whatever, went from driven to light hearted(his determination didn't change) . I was thinking no biggy it changed but I can get it to change back if I do this properly. so he comes back to the club I've got a squad with some pretty good tutors so I thought I can get someone to tutor him hopefully solve the issue. EVERY tutor I suggest he hates, doesn't respond well to being loaned out or being given feedback good or negative about loan performances. I go on dynamics and he's the person in the game who dislikes me the most (rival) currently. does anyone have any experience of fixing poor relationships ? or am I going to have to sell him its no biggy if I do just would be nice to keep him as he came from my academy and I like developing players and he's in a position I need backup for. im not sure if keeping him in my first team squad is going to change his view on me or change his personality, as everyone in my squad supports me and thinks I'm good and the squad personality is professional. I currently have 6-8 players from my academy in my first team squad who have integrated well so he would have players he knows around him. any advice on repairing damaged relationships would be good or is he just going to hate me for ever at this stage no matter what I do. if thats the case ill just sell its a shame as he could be really good but he won't take the feedback.
  10. Hi, I just noticed that the most regens change skin colour through the years. I bought a (white) keeper from Poland and now he has a dark skin colour. Also a rightback from Nigeria suddenly has a white skin colour. Not that i have any problem with skin colours but its a bit unrealistic.

Hi guys, i love playing FM especially when it's in the future (e.g. 7-10 years from original database) where the regens/newgens are beginning to take the football world, the reason i like this type of game is because i love developing those hideous looking kids into some WC players if they have the talents needed, or in this case, sufficient Potential Ability. But somehow until FM 17, the "template" (i don't know how to call it) used to generate all the random numbers so the regens have their related attributes when they're appearing on the youth intake day so they can be perceived on their natural position, well the "template" is kinda obsolete and does not represent/recreate the original database and (it's always been like this since past FM). Here are the problems i found that need to be addressed: 1. Lack of Natural Inside Forwards (well, "lack" is a bit understated, maybe "rare" is the correct term): 9 of 10 AMR/AML regens is a Classic Winger, the right footed on the right and vice versa with their Classic Winger stats as well (RUN, CROSS, RUN) so the chance that they can be retrained to the opposite flank is not so good because they can't shoot the ball, it's better to retrain some fast strikers to Inside Forward role, i mean, most of the teams in the world no longer/rarely use the Classic Winger on their attack, we all know 2 of the GOAT right now are Inside forwards and other WC players like Hazard, Neymar, Alexis, so please do update on this AMR/AML newgens because i feel a bit annoyed if i found a WC potential AML/AMR regens who's only good at crossing and running but ***** at direct penetrating. 2. Lack of Natural Wing Backs: Still related to No. 1, because of the Classic Winger role is considered as not-so modern role, the duty of winger to cross the ball from wide is now become the usual work of the full backs (on the Wing Back role in the game), so the IF will cuts inside, then the Fullback bombs forward to provide width and anticipate to cross the ball from out wide, the problem is the full back regens generated in the game are MOSTLY a Classic Full Back, most of them have ridiculously low attributes on dribbling, crossing, quickness because they are born to be classic full back who always stays at the back and try to clear the ball, and if somehow a FB regens who have potential to be WC player then it's absolutely disappointing since they'll eventually have only fairly decent attributes of a modern wing back and will never be a great attacking full back like Marcelo or Dani Alves. 3. Lack of Central Defenders who can pass: The central defenders are no longer an ultra defensive unit in the team, right now the central defenders considered as a first line in the build up play, but in the game, it's more of the same like issue number 2, most of the CD regens is a Classic CD who have very low attributes on passing, first touch, and even lower on technique, THAT is NOT how modern defender play, they need to be all-rounded, not just tall and strong. 4. Too many player who has great potential gonna choke on big games): This is the issue that make me realize that i have to play god by using FMRTE because of the Important Matches Attributes are frustratingly low on some great regens, and this is painfully disturbing because if you have some Messi-esque regen who regularly bang goals in the league but he'll never score or have low match rating when he is playing a derby or some final stages, i get it that not all player can handle pressure of a derby day, but come on, i've seen in the FMRTE that way too many players who have potential ability above 160 only have 5-7 important match attribute, and you should know that this attributes is fixed and won't improve. 5. Too many Inconsistent but somehow talented players. 6. All Regens only have 1 natural positions. Maybe you're thinking that i'm just don't understand the basic principle of statistics, the normal curve or stuff, but when i said too many, then it's true, that "too many" is another form of "It shouldn't be too many". And go find yourself about this issues, use FMRTE or Genie Scout, i know that i'm not alone in this because i've read the few same threads on the bugs forum but never got the proper attention. Heck, even there were a guy who do statistical research on that low important matches attributes and he compared the regen on his database with the original database and find out that the "template" needs to be revamped. And yeah, i know that Training in the game can change one or two things above, but it won't help much, i assure you that. So that's all what i've found, and i get it that not every player is the same, but i just want the regens to be accurately depicts the real-life modern football, and i believe that most of the FM players doesn't want to have a team full of great players but can only do 1990-ish playing style.
  12. I think it would be great to have the option to have recurring regen players. All too often, I spend 10+ seasons in a save, to then try my hand on another challenge. However, all that work learning the regens on that save has gone to waste. It would be a good option when starting a game to decide if you want to use the same regen players every save- a reward for playing long enough to know who comes good. Obviously some people love the unexpected nature of the youth intakes, but it'd be great to have the option (so I could always have Kevin Coleman or Facundo Illa...).

  14. I'm playing a FK Partizan save as I have for many years on Football Manager and I'm noticing something that I never have before and it seems to be a bug. I've done a couple of reloads during the youth regen date in 2018 and from time to time a player will generate with a ridiculously high CA in between 115 and 120 along with a PA of around 130. The screenshot attached is an exception (CA 124 - PA 155). I doubt this is deliberate although I would be interested to know if it is. EDIT: Here's another example.. CA: 120 PA: 130

Hey everyone, i'm looking to buy FM 18 since it's been released on November 10 last week, but as a devoted "long-term save" player then you should know that i'm more interested in regens player than the real one. And also that the regens graphic were not appeared in the beta release so i think this is the right time for my curiousity regarding the reveal of the regens appearance. So i'm wondering if some of you guys (who've bought and play FM 18) can do me a favor by taking some screenshots of the regens' face from the game, because i'd like to compare this year's version to the FM 17's regens which we all know are truly a disappointment. I'd like to see the: caucasian, asian, african, and south american's face. And also the regens' staff to compare the "old" and "young" faces. Oh, and the fastest way to find out (no need to wait for the youth intake day) is that you need to start a new save with all FAKE players so everybody in the game are regens only. I hope that some of you can help me with this so i can decide whether i need to try the FM18 or to skip this year's release albeit any so-called improvements in other aspects of the game. It's simply because in 2034/35 season, i don't want any of my player looks like a Zombified Asian-African. Thanks.
  16. They look absolutely dreadful! I've only see about 4 varieties regardless of their ethnicity. Another issue for those of us who edit is the removal of the 'change hair colour' option. When it's 2067 and the game is getting a bit monotonous being able to change players hair colours was always fun. Why not turn an entire squad into blond or red haired players? I thought the regen faces in FM16 were perfect. What happened SI???
  17. So, in my Crystal Palace save Youth Day has come and gone. I think I did very well, with a young keeper and center mid with some good possibilities. The I started scouting the other teams regens, and found this guy on Birminghams U18 squad. 2 1/2 star current ability, 5 star potential, he has better stats at 15 then some of my starters do. Feature, or a bug? ;-) What other excellent regens have you come across so far? Jellico73
  18. Hi guys, I have simmed a year into the game just to check what thr regen faces will be like this year. After going to youth intake and looking at a fair few, none have faces. Just a dark outline. I am just wondering is this just the beta? And will they appear in the full game? I have transferred my logos and facepack from the previous game however that should not affect the regen faces? Any information at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
  19. Well, in the old games the regens had a randomly generated face, but in my game there is no faces of regens sadly. Is this feature removed from the game or is it simply a bug? Maybe its just not in the game yet? Please let me know guys! Thanks!

So I got my regens in and got an amazing CB with Resolute personalty, noticed only Moreno could tutor him but didn't want him to do it so got Pepe in on a free contract (who also has Resolute), now no one can tutor him at all Here's the proof, here's his stats if you're wondering . I'm really hoping it's something stupid, Pepe isn't doing a new move, I made sure and do them myself. Ian is learning a new move though but I'm sure he can learn but the tutor can't be, If this is the wrong place I'm sorry, wasn't sure where to post this. Thanks!
  22. I don't know if this belongs in this forum, but I need help. I recently acquired a regen with 197 PA. It's a 17 year old Colombian midfielder. I honestly don't know what to do, since he's got good physicals already and has 15 dribbling, 15 first touch, 12 finishing. I was wondering whether I can train him to become a forward (currently not within his positions). What would you guys do with him?
  23. Hi, does anyone else have an issue with regens where many of them dont have faces? Of my latest youth intake roughly 50% of them just have the blacked out silhouette. Is there a reason for this, or a fix? Thanks
  24. I have a request regarding the potential ability of players in FM. For those who aren't aware, currently a player's PA can be one value (eg 175), or it can be a range between 30 (eg 150-180). I believe that the PA range of a player should be completely customisable. This could be most effective when used judging the PA of raw prospects between the ages of 16-18. As such players are largely unknown, it is very hard to judge the potential of them realistically. Every year, many young players especially at top academies burst onto the scene, who were mostly unheard of previously. For this example, let's assume that a young player at a top academy has a PA of -8, (130-160). This would most likely make them a mid-level premier league player. Surely it would be more realistic to have a larger PA range, such as 130-180. This would mean that the players potential is more variable between different saves, increasing the 'unknown factor'. Along with many other members of the community, I prefer nurturing and developing newgens to real players. This is because it is impossible to develop them to a high level when they have such low/small PA ranges. This idea would mean you can never know for sure how good your youth players at the beginning of the game can become, and are forced to at least give them a shot and keep an eye on them, rather than discarding them on first viewing. Now, an example for slightly older players. If Phillipe Coutinho has a CA of 158, and a PA of 175, this is the same in every save. However, no one knows for sure whether he will reach this potential, or even exceed it, therefore I think a range is more realistic in this case. Saying this, surely a PA range of 30 is too much? Perhaps Coutinho could have a smaller range of 165-183, or something similar to that. This could also be useful for older players too. Robert Lewandowski is 27, can we be sure he has reached his peak yet? I believe his CA and PA in the current database is 178. This means that the game thinks Lewandowski will 100% not improve any further at all. There is surely a chance that he will improve, even if it is very slightly. This would mean his PA could be 178-184 or even 178-182. These are perhaps not the best examples, however I hope you have a good understanding of this idea. This may not make a huge difference on an individual basis, however if this is implemented correctly I believe it could help the game become far more realistic. Would love to hear your thoughts.
  25. Today I just found out that sometimes random people on your Social Feed ACCURATELY predicting a player's PA (Potential Ability). I know, it sounds silly, right? But check it out: I'm using RBL on my game, and as usual, there will be a busy day during youth intake day. You know, hijacking potential regen wonderkids from around the world. Then suddenly I've struck out at one regen that I saw has a great potential, the name is Arjan Grata. Trusting my instinct alone, without sending any scouts to analyze him, I sent a contract to this young lad. As usual, whenever you throw a bid to any player, suddenly random generated 'people' on your social feed would comment after your act. But there's one comment that I see different from any other comment. "Blatantly PA 200" - Emely Budde Curious, I downloaded FMRTE 17 at once. With its beta feature, I scouted him (Arjan Grata, the player). Then I almost fell off my chair, laughed. It's true, this kid's PA is 199. Yes, that Emely Budde lad is like God of Scout. I also attached the screenshot. Now I've found my little Messi, now it's your turn. Watch your social feed, people, have fun finding another New Messi!
