  2. Hello there and welcome to my first Football Manager save. I'll be documenting the exploits of Pedro Alves in the recent FM19 version of our favorite simulation game! Going by the name of Pedro Alves I decided to start my FM19 journey as unemployed with only the Portuguese leagues loaded. I have a good computer but i like the days to go by quickly without too much background processing. Later on I might load other leagues but for now I'll be fighting myself up from the depths of the Portuguese leagues. With a past of semi-professional football and a Continental B license, it wasn't easy to find a job. A few interviews but only in April I was able to sign a contract and have a team to manage. The club was Agueda and this was their current standings with only two games to go. As a token of their faith (or desperation) I accepted the challenge. Tried to rally the troops for two epic matches while Pedras Rubras would have to lose twice and Maritimo B and Gondomar to also end below us, but alas, it was not meant to be... Despite my motivational attempts and tactical flair we lost 5-0 to Cinfães on the first game, costing me the job on the very same day. Yep, waited almost one full season for a job and got fired on the next day! Not a great entry to the epic tale of Pedro Alves surely. Back to the job hunt and now pre-season once again it took several weeks, which turned to months and repetive interviews to finally have a proper chance in a club. The club who hired me was none other than the recently promoted Sporting Clube Lamego. We will be playing in the Campeonato de Portugal (B series) and try to avoid relegation to hopefully build the foundations for promotion to Ledman Ligapro (Professional Portuguese 2nd divsion) but we'll get to that in the next post! Thanks for reading.
  3. FM18 All-European (Less England) Small Club to Big Club Challenge Introduction Welcome to a new chapter in the history of the ‘Euro Nation’ Challenge, born out of the recent history of the highly successful Gundo’s Challenge and the Big Euro Nation Challenge that spawned out of it. Originally set up as an alternative to the hugely successful Dafuges Challenge for FM06, Gundos Challenge offered an alternative for people who wanted to play in another European country. The Big Euro Nation Challenge followed for FM08 and, like Gundo’s Challenge, has had some fantastic stories over the years. These threads have always been hugely popular and successful thanks to those who played, and who still take part, in the challenges. Some of the stories are legendary, and hopefully more of these will be born in this, and future, versions of the game. The premise of the challenge is the same, and simple, to start with a previously unplayable club and taking them all the way to a National Title and then on to winning the European Champions League. With a variety of leagues, styles of play, different rules, and many different locations for your clubs there can be a lot of variety throughout the thread, providing a great atmosphere and stories for our users to become immersed in. General Challenge Info Possible Countries Austria Belarus Belgium Bulgaria Croatia Czech Republic Denmark Finland France - June 20th Germany Greece Holland * Hungary Iceland Ireland * Israel Italy - July 30th N. Ireland - 25th June Norway - January 13th Poland Portugal Romania Russia Scotland Serbia Slovakia Slovenia Spain - July 10th Sweden - December 15th Switzerland Turkey Ukraine Wales * Holiday for two seasons not one. League Reset Dates Austria - 13th June Belarus Belgium Bulgaria Croatia Czech Republic Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Holland * Hungary Iceland Ireland * Israel Italy N. Ireland Norway Poland Portugal Romania Russia Scotland Serbia Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden Switzerland Turkey Ukraine Wales The Rules A) Game Set-up 1) Load One Nation Only (All Available Divisions within your nation) 2) Your choice of Database Size (Large Recommended) 3) NO Edited Databases of any kind 4) Customising Database You can add players to the database up to a limit of 100,000 in total in order to add more depth to your save and also add more difficulty down the line. Suggested Adds Players from Top Clubs/Top Divisions (Europe or All Continents) - This increases the challenge at Continental Level Players Based in your Nation - This can add up to 50% more players to your game Players Based in your Region (Central Europe/East Europe/UK & Ireland) - This can add extra players likely to join your club There will be a file correcting the club/competition names, I will advise use of this. NO other additional customising is allowed. 5) Attribute Masking should be Enabled 6) Disable Ingame Editor (Please do this) 7) Optional Ticks Add Key Staff (This will give you a Scout, Physio & Ass Man by generating them if your club is without) Add Players in Playable Nations (This will ensure all clubs have a minimum number of players, generating them if needed) The extra levels of detail that you can change while in the game are up to you, as they shouldn't make a difference. B) Steps in the Game 1) Add an unemployed manager; you will not use this man to manage your club. I like "Unemployed Man or Holiday Man" 2) Go on holiday until the reset date of your chosen nation (Should take about an hour) TIP - Changing Detail Level to None will make it go faster. (Remember to change it back afterwards) TIP - Saving on the day before this date may give you a better choice of teams by reloading the game then going on holiday for one day, I would strongly recommend trying this. 3) Add a new manager - Use yourself, or a created character to help build a story line a) Personal Details - Your Choice b) Tracksuit vs. Trainer - Your Choice c) Past Experience lowest Possible (Generally Sunday League) d) Coaching Licenses lowest Possible (None) e) Other options are up to you TIP - If you add the language of your country of choice it will make it easier at the beginning TIP - Training now includes you at some level depending on your abilities. 4) Choose to take over any club which has been promoted to the bottom playable league of your nation. TIP - Easiest way in FM17 to see this is on the "Season Review" screen, showing the "Promoted Clubs" TIP - You can confirm your club by checking the Domestic History's page for not being at this level since start of game 5) Retire your unemployed manager. 6) Manage your club to National Title & European Champions League Victory 7) Completing the Challenge. C) Signing of Players 1) You must be able to scout them TIP - You don't actually have to scout them, just be able to TIP - You can check your scouting range on the Scouting page 2) Alternatively (If you can't scout them), you must bring them on a trial first 3) You are able to sign anyone sent to you via Agent Offer TIP - Make sure you screenshot the Agent offer 4) In later versions you can get your DoF to find players, he will bring in players not in Scouting Range, these are also allowed. TIP - Grab a screenshot of your DoF signing them D) Posting 1) Player naming is allowed. (This is a warning for those of you who do not wish to see this) 2) Discussion of tactics is allowed. (This is another warning for those of you who do not wish to see this) Expected Updates We have minimum expectations when it comes to a first up post and also in the end of season updates. The Bold pages are necessary for everyone; the others are some suggestions that will get others interested in your posts and following your club. All other screenshots are welcome and encouraged, but we please ask that the majority are posted as links, because lots of pictures can make the page very slow to load. First Post: Domestic Leagues History (Club) Profile (Manager) Overview (Club) Squad (Club) End of Season Updates: Transfers (Club) - This is so we can see the ins & outs League Table (Competition) Squad (Club) Information (Manager) Profile (Manager) Information (Club) Profile (Players) Progress of your club should be documented using this thread; we want to hear the story of your club all the way through. Please keep us updated, even if you are doing badly. If you title your end of season report in bold this makes it easier to identify. Everyone will be supportive, and really get into your game if you give more detail. E) Other 1. If you are Sacked 1. You can Restart from the beginning or; 2. Continue your game and pick a new club (Under Same Rules) at the end of the next season or; 3. Add another Euro League/Remove Current League, holiday a whole season and continue 1. You can still only have one nation running at a time 2. Once the league becomes active you MUST holiday a full season 3. The club must be one of those unplayable from the beginning 2. No Restrictions on Parent or Feeder Clubs 3. International Management allowed from FM14 forwards (But you cannot start as an International Manager) The use of any external utilities and editors (Such as Genie Scout or FMM) are prohibited. As of FM14 there are also unlockables, these are also prohibited, please don't use them. It would be appreciated if you also ticked the box at the start which prevents the use of the ingame editor. How to Post a Screenshot 1) While in FM, press the 'Prt Sc' button (usually next to F12 on your keyboard). 2) Open an image editing program such as Paint and paste the image 3) Save the file as a JPEG or PNG 4) Upload the image to an image hosting website such as Photobucket or Imageshack 5) Post the direct URL to the image here. Alternatively using ALT + F9 in game saves a screenshot to your user data folder. (You can also edit this in the shortcuts options) The Euro Nation Motivational I would like to thank all of you who choose to participate in this thread this year, and to wish everyone taking on this challenge the best of luck on a long and hard journey to managerial success! I have personally had a number of hugely enjoyable saves over the years, first in Gundos challenge and then latterly in the Big Euro Nation Challenge. The atmosphere and support these threads have historically offered is key in making the thread, and your saves more enjoyable as I can testify to. I and some of the other regulars of these threads are here to help for the new challengers and hope everybody that participates contributes considerably to the thread. There is nothing better than getting immersed not only in your own game but providing the encouragement to other people's attempts too. Remember we are all fighting the same battle - to defeat the AI (and uncover fabulous newgens!) - Therefore it goes without saying that any form of cheating will be severely chastised. Don't do it! I know that it is painful to lose a European Final or to lose the title on the final day (I have been there myself on more than one occasion) but eventual success down the line is all the sweeter for those defeats. Good luck to all the participants – Here’s to a successful (and enjoyable) version!!

    [FM18] Rise Of The Lion!

Hi, this save will be with Sporting Clube de Portugal. A team that i love and support since i was born ( year 2000 ) and the last time they were national champions was in 2001/2002, they used to be up there winning titles and they just fell off so much in the last 16 years. Many of you probably heard that not too long ago the players got attacked by " supporters " inside the facilities where they were training and after that many of the players ended their contract with the club because they didn't feel safe anymore and it made the team hit rock bottom so i decided to take over the club and put it back where it belongs. I apologize in advanced if i make some mistakes i'm Portuguese so English isn't my 1st language and i never really payed much attention to it in school everything i know i pretty much thought myself. Alright, 1st thing i did was check the staff and let me tell you guys... It's not looking good. I hired a bunch of staff members and proceeded to check my team. This is our team at the moment. There are players here that are going to be sold cause i simply don't feel like they should be in our team. Our current hot prospects are these boys right here. There are a few more players who have 4.5/5 stars PA but these are the ones that im gonna be focusing more. Every 2 seasons im going to update these pictures so we can see what has changed. These are going to be our tactics. The one on the left will be the one we'll use the most, we'll only use the one on the right in away games against big teams of the Champions League. 1st official games of the season are against Dynamo Kyiv. 1st leg away we lost 3-1, not the start we wanted but we managed to turn it around with a 5-0 win at home. Five games go by and so far so good, we've been getting the results every manager loves to see. As you can see we qualified for the champions league group stage and we got a rather hard group for us at the moment. We bought 3 players for the total of 62M € and we sold 4 players for the total of 27,5M € ( by the way i did not use the editor to put money on the team i simply bought them with three 12 month instalments ) We now need to win titles or we either sell the players back or we'll struggle with our finances On the left are the players we bought, on the right the players we sold/loaned. Transfer window is now CLOSED! Our 1st hard game of the season counting towards the league is here and its against Porto away from home. As you can see 4 mins into the game and Lumor ( left wing back ) got sent off but we managed to hold Porto to a draw and i can call that a win. Now we're going to take a big jump in the calendar but i'm still going to put the big games here with screenshots We lost away against Manchester City after a long run of wins and fell a little bit cause of that and got 2 draws after that game. Thank god we picked up right after that. There's also that Portimonense game that we won 4-1, it's not impressive or anything i just decided to share it cause of the way the goals were scored. We won 2-0 at home against City and managed to qualify for the 1st knockout round of the Champions League. ( City and Portimonense below ) Another big jump and this time with 5 important games. We absolutely destroyed Benfica ( image 1 ). Then we lost 1-0 against Porto in a really close game ( image 2 ) After that we destroyed and won 2-0 against Porto ( image 3 ) and we lost 2-1 and 1-0 against Atletico Madrid ( image 4 & 5 )
  5. Using the real world cup 2018 data file I decided to have a go at many games as as many different nations at the world cup as possible. I’ll keep my efforts for all the different nations in this one thread rather than start a new one for each time I start a new game as another nations. I’m going to try and keep the nations real squads though if we have an injury before the tournament starts I’ll have to call another player up obviously and if that nations squad isn’t whittled down to 23 by the time I come to play them I’ll have to do that myself. First up is England. As you can see we have entered a dystopian reality where Wilfred Bony had a good season. There was great shock at my England selection, though I'm susprised RLC shocked more than me selecting a goalie in Nick Pope who hadn't played a single game this season. First friendlies are against Ivory Coast and Morocco and I'm not optimistic.
  6. Well, we are now heading into the ninth year of this challenge. It has been an incredible six years around here with some great stories, clubs, and players. Rlipscombe, Iacovone and Myself are looking forward to another great year. This challenge is similar to dafuge's, Gundo's & others, starting with a previously unplayable club and taking them all the way to a National Title and then on to the European Champions League. With a variety of leagues, styles of play, different rules, and many different locations for your clubs there can be a lot of variety throughout the thread, a great atmosphere and fun with all our users. The atmosphere and contribution in this thread has always been excellent, long may it continue. As core members for every year, LLR, rlipscombe, Iacovone and PRDH would like to add that we are here to help for the new challengers and hope everybody that participates contributes considerably to the thread. We have had an incident in the past, lets not see it again - it spoils the challenge for the hard workers in here. Note: All the screenshots etc are from when I last ran the challenge in 2015, so I will do my best to update them in the coming week, but this is it for now.
  7. Lusitano Futebol Clube Welcome to my new FM18 thread. I will be taking over Lusitano FC, a Portuguese club currently playing in the Campeonato de Portugal, the third tier. I had wanted to start a new career for a while now but I did not really know what to do. In the end I decided that it would be fun to manage in Portugal, since I have never really done that before. The choice of club here is pretty random, although I do like the logo. This save is going to be a pretty straightforward one club save, where the aim will be to take the club to Champions League glory. As far as player recruitment is concerned, I will limit myself somewhat, similar to what the plan was with my Tenerife save. I will allow myself to buy players, but only from certain nationalities. In the Tenerife save this was kinda vague, so for this career I have picked 15 countries to buy from. They are all smaller football nations and are picked because I like them or they are a Portuguese speaking nation. They are: I will scout these nations and have a search filter for these nations so that it will be easy to keep track of the players with these nationalities. To make sure these nations even have players they are loaded in the database. As always I will also focus on the development of youth players from our own intake. The club is a fully professional side, and at the start we are spending €500K p/a on wages (with a budget of 580K). There's a transfer budget of €1K. The Portuguese third tier has some player rules: No actual foreign player limit, just the 12 players trained by a club in Portugal. Interestingly there aren't that many Portuguese players in my squad to start out with, a lot of foreigners (mostly from Brazil and Italy). Because of this limit and the fact that are actual too few of these at the club I will have to sign a few for the first season at least, probably loan players. Enjoy the thread.
  8. Since my bug report threat in Pre-editor with reported never give any result i will start a threat here for all updaters that really know. Still waiting for answers from SI. Many thanks to @Slabbekoorn for all assist in PM's. My biggest problem is that 2 and 3 youth regional divisions doesn't appear ingame, the Standard division are all right (1 and 2 national / 1 regional division). On editor everything verifies, on game everything works except that 2 and 3 youth regional division are inactive, even if i didn't set inactive.... Some minor errors are that u18 teams simply vanish and 2 national division lost the age limit, nothing serious to play. If you have any ideas let me know please _teste juniores V10.fmf
  9. A youth only challenge with one of my favorite teams on FM, União de Leiria. I had a successful save with them on FM14, lasting nine seasons. I ended the save after an amazing 2021/2022 season where we won the Champions League at the Bernabeu, against Real Madrid, with a brace from academy prospect Victor Gil. (Click to enlarge) Legendary striker Victor Gil, profile: And now his manager profile! Just thought it would be nice to use my favorite player in the FM14 save as manager. Club info: Now I'm going back to Leiria in order to emphasize youth development in the club, and get a golden generation to win the UCL again.
  10. Doesn't have great technical attributes, but has good mental attributes
  11. Meet Adão Dragão The backstory is that Dragão was a journeyman central midfielder in Portugal. He showed promise as a youngster, coming through Real Massama's youth academy and playing in the top two tiers but injuries hampered his career causing him to drop down the leagues. Now we are going to try a venture through the Portuguese system and beyond. I want to model my managerial career progression on the likes of Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche. So managing a lower league side up until they're in a solid position, then going on to bigger things. So, for instance, Howe has been linked with the England job or a large domestic team like Manchester United. As for my managerial style, it will be hit and hope I hope you enjoy reading through.
  12. Why 'ello dere. How you doing? Yep, it's me, back again with the first of the part of my FM18 blog on the SI forums. I will try and keep my intro post short and sweet for you guys as there's so much FM18 content to get through right now! However, if you follow me on Twitter (and if you don't then why not?! @registafm - go and follow now...) you will have seen that I am going to be starting off my FM18 journey in Portugal with a lovely little side called Boavista. And if you haven't seen this yet, well here ya go! So why Boavista? Well, let's give you some facts. Name - Boavista Nickname - "As Panteras" - The Panthers or "Os Axadrezados" - The Chequered Ones (ooh-er) Founded - 1903 Ground - Estadio do Bessa Capacity - just your 28,263 crazy Portuguese football fans Fact - One of two sides to win the Primeira Liga outside of the BIG THREE in Portugal, along with Belenenses (yeah - surprising right?) Now - that last one is the reason that I'm taking on this lot as my first team in FM. Rebuilding fallen "giants" is how I normally play Football Manager, and I could have picked anywhere and found clubs that want to relive their glory years. I've really got to thank the Deep Lying Podcast for this one, as their Portuguese League Preview really got me inspired to begin the quest for world domination in the birth-land of the best player in the world (sorry Messi fans). Portugal does not require players to have work permits, allowing me to steal the best youngsters around the world and breed them for success. Plus breaking up the BIG THREE gives a) a sense of longevity to the save, as they are so far ahead of everyone else and b) a real sense of achievement when we smash them in to oblivion. Also, the stadium looks cool. Just look at it. The big thing for me this year is to try and keep to one save file. I really fancy the ideas of moving on from Boavista once I've accomplished what I need to there in to an unknown game world - hence the name "The Chronicles of Regista". When Boavista have been established as a European powerhouse, we'll move on to a different league and team. Teams will rise and teams will fall - who knows where we'll end up? You'll just have to stick around to find out, all whilst eating Nutella in our pants. The next installment is coming soon...
  13. Hi guys, I don't know if it is the right place to do it, but I have been playing Football Manager 2017 with Gafetense, a team of my country (Portugal) in the 3th division (Prio Championship) and I have seen that misses 2 players on the team. The missing players are: Miguel Silva Diogo Fernandes Can anybody help me to know why they aren't in the game? And if it's possible to the FM17 support team to add them? I'll appreciate if anybody answer me to this topic. Thanks!
