  1. The AI takes much, much more into account when signing a player than just ability and potential stars. Specifically, form and performance are taken into account, as you suggest, along with a number of other factors. If you have some example of the AI signing players unrealistically, please do get them posted here - https://community.sigames.com/forum/696-football-manager-2020-pre-release-beta-bug-forum/ Generally forwards are more expensive than defenders, but of course this is a broad statement and will not apply in every single instance. As above, if you have some examples that you believe look unrealistic, please do get them posted for us to investigate. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ As mentioned in the "Beta Feedback Thread" (see post-text above) and answered by "Seb Wassell", I will give you some examples of "unrealistic" Player-Transfers I believe, from an long-time save (10 Years) I get . Maybe you can investigate this examples. I made you a quick preview (Name, Position and corresponding Season Stats (via picture)) of some example players. Of course I can send you also the save file (200 MB), if you like. Tom Jamieson (Center Midfielder, Striker) 146 Millions. Donovan Simons (Center Midfielder, Attaking Midfielder) 120 Millions. Goncalo Guedes (Left Midfielder, Attaking Midfielder, Striker) 165 Millions Nicolo Armini (Defender left and center) 128 Millions As you can see in the examples above, I first thought that the season stats and ratings are not a part of the transfer AI (just the potential and abilities). Also the last example from the Defender, which reaches the big transfer amount of 128 Millions. I mean for a Defender (which basically costs less than a offensive player) and also the moderate season ratings he gets for such an high transfer amount.

  3. The rules of the regulations for the match indicate that I can use 0 players older than 33 years, it turns out a few of my players just sit out the application for the season and that's all, is this a mistake ?
  4. Hey guys I am currently managing Tottenham Hotspurs and this is my first season after leaving Barnsley. After every season I decide to make a tactic of my own but I never gets success and when I upload it here, there are just too many flaws to be corrected so I download a new tactic and stick with it for the whole season wishing that maybe, in the next season I would be using a tactic of my own but that season never came. This pre-season too I have designed a tactic and I need critical analysis from you guys. I have played just a single match (Spurs U23s vs Bolton U23s) with it and the results were satisfying though the opponent was too weak to consider the tactic a success. We had 66% possession, 29 shots total, 10 on target while opponents managed just 3 shots, one being on target. We made 11 fouls while opponents made 29 fouls. We scored two goals and conceded zero. I have also included a Raumdeuter for just one reason and that is, Thomas Muller has just got out of contract and you know what that means for a newbie like me, get him in so I wanted to make sure the tactic is working before spending any money on him as he's 34 but has 150 CA (according to FM RTE). So ending the talking part, I present to you, The Assymetrical, 2-3-2-3 (or whatsoever).
  5. I have a general opinion that when players play continously at a position with same players, then they tend to form a partnership with them. Yet, in my team there are just two partnerships (bw CB and bw DMs) made even after 2/3 of the season has passed (I play Barnsley in Premier Division, FA Cup and Euro Cup as well) and I have been using the same tactic for a while now. Maybe there's some training which helps building partnership. Also how does it benefit the team like better cohesion or something?
  6. The MoosBadda FM19 Wolves Challenge Details : I will upload one of my saves for you to play out for a season. This will be my Wolverhampton Wanderers side playing in the EPL in 2024. There will be a list of challenges and points will be awarded for completion of them. I will upload the save to a shared Google drive folder or here for download and players will re-upload the finished saved for verification and points. IF I GET 5-10 PEOPLE SHOW INTEREST I WILL EDIT THIS POST AND UPLOAD THE SAVE FILE Challenges 1. Win the Premier League (20 points, 5 extra points for player who does it first) 2. Win the Champions League (30 points, 5 extra points for player who does it first) 3. Get one of Augustin/Santamaria/Montano to score 60 (30 pts), 40 (20 pts) or 30 (10 pts) goals. 4. 5 extra pts for any other player reaching the listed goal tallies. 5. Get any of Freitas/Lainez/Foden/Mboula/Strijker to 40 assists (30 pts) , 30 (20 pts) or 25 (10pts). (5 extra points for any other player) 6. 5 points for every player from team who makes EPL TotY 7. 10 points for every player from team who makes UCL TotY. 8. No unhappy players at end of season - 20 pts. 9. Positive wage budget (1 pt per 50k/pw under budget) 10. Any of Montano/Freitas/Santamaria wins WPotY (20 pts) Anyone else from team 30 pts.   7. Hello , i am currently playing with finnish team Haka . I won everything including champions league . I got very good players but their values never pass 1m euroes . My clubs reputation is pretty high. My players keep getting offers over over again but i dont wanna sell them that low and they become unhappy . Any ideas how can i increase the value of my players ? By the way if i need to increase some attribute of my team or league i can edit it with editor.
  8. Is it possible to have maxed out tactical familiarity for all 3 tactics ? I'm 2 and a half seasons into playing the same 3 tactics and my tactical familiarity still looks like this. I would appreciate any help. Thank you
  9. Hello guys, I have some mysterious affection with the Target Man role and now I want to create a tactic with a more specialised version of Target Man, the Wide Target Man. I am uploading the tactic because the tactic is, for some reason or the other, not working well enough. I lost a friendly match against Everton 1-2. The first match of Premier Division against West Ham ended in a 1-4 lost. Second match was against Liecester city which ended disastrously in a 0-5 lost. I am ready to change the tactic completely but the only thing I want is a Wide Target Man. Open to critics and suggestions.
  10. I'm unable to get any of my coaches to help a player work on a player trait or ppm. The coaches are all greyed out. I don't know what to do. Some help would be appreciated.
  11. What are some of your tried and true strategies for getting the best out of very high potential players. I want examples from people's past experiences and not just opinions please. I have a few really good young players in my save who have developed very well, but seem to not be growing anymore in attributes i want them to grow further in. I know they still have some growth left in them and i'm currently seeing them progress in attributes that arent very meaningful for their positions, like long throws for a forward. Is it better for me to use the remaining potential to train them for new positions ? Has it worked out great for anyone here ? Thank you
  12. Hiya🙂 So I (surprisingly, if I do say so myself cause we were aiming for 6th place finish. I only realised we could win d league in match day 34) won d league with Norwich in my 3rd season after bringing them up from d championship. Now my team report is saying that we have a group of disloyal players. Note 1. The previous season, my second season, we finished 8th so I had money. I bought some hot prospects like Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix and Luka Jovic. So now Sancho wanted a new contract, I declined. Now he won't even listen for negotiations. So how do I solve the disloyalty issue? The second picture Is for you to have an idea how good my team is. No bragging 🤥
  13. Hello guys, I am managing Harrogate Town alongside Wales U21s in my FM19 Career. My club was expected to relegate this season but we managed to qualify for the playoffs in Vanarama National League. Due to such good and unexpected performance my club owner accepted my demand of associating with an affiliate club. We got offers from three clubs and we decided to affiliate with Stoke City. So I wanted to get some players on loan from them which I thought was pretty easy and smooth though it didnt come out to be so. Whenever I want any U23s or U18s player on loan, they never cooperate and instead ask a much higher fee just like any other club would. So I wanted to know how the affiliate system works and how can I benefit from my affiliate. Thank You.
  14. Hello guys. I am the current manager of Wales Under 21s and Harrogate town as well. I am currently on 4th rank in Vanarama National League. My problem is that my team is really uncertain. It can win a match in one moment and lose it in another. For example; My team defeated Burton Albion in FA Cup Second Round with a score of 8-2 lost to AFC fylde which is at 24th position in my league with score of 3-0. What I mean to say is that no matter which tactic I use, the result is always a random and its stands same for the players. You never know which player is going to play well. I lost 2 matches back to back against lower level teams with an attacking tactic so I turned to balanced tactic against another low ordet club but lost again which was quite frustrating as I am determined to win the Vanarama National Leagur title. Also while using a bit defensive tactic the team was not creating any chances so I made the team train in attack mode for a week yet their performance in attacking third was below far. The wingers never cross the ball, whenever they do, the ball is always blocked by defenders and goes for a corner (and when I say always, I am not kidding). The strikers never face towards the opponents net and when they recieve the ball they lose it while they turn towards the goal. For the set pieces, we are too bad at it even though I always add about 3 set piece sessions(defend) in a week, yet we fail to protect the net. I need suggestions specially on training part because I dont think that even makes a difference in the game Thank you in advance.
  15. Hello guys. I come here with great pressure on my head. I am currently managing harrogate town in Vanarama National League. We have been drawn in a FA Cup (or trophy) 3 round match against AFC Bournemouth who are currently in Sky Bet League One. Now, obviously we are huge underdogs but I wanted some suggestions so that we can hope for the best results and keep our supporters happy. The reason I am posting this thread is that I have noticed whenever we have to play a match against such a big team, the players play their worse game like clearing the ball to an opponent, doing own goals, getting red cards, and giving penalty and thus making the match impossible to win. I certainly don't hope to win but I also dont want to accept my defeat if players play in such a manner. Quick replies are always appreciated.
  16. My suggestion is that the way that potential ability works is changed. The way that it currently is means that all players and staff have a maximum potential ability, but I think that this should be changed to a minimum potential. This means that all players will have a potential that they will reach no matter what happens in their career, but they’d be able to outgrow this under the right coaching and if they are in good form. This would make each save unique as it wouldn’t always have the same players that become world class and could make way for players with a similar career path to Jamie Vardy.

Hi all, I signed a 19 year old through a deal my Head of Youth Development put together and when everything was finalised the player was automatically added to the Under 23s squad, however, I am completely unable to find where this squad is?! I have an U18s squad which is readily available, but the U23s is nowhere to be found! Has anyone else come across this same situation or have any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated!

If I loan a player to a team in a view-only league will he develop at the same rate as he would in a playable league?   21. Hi guys, I have a possible idea for manager media and/or chairman interviews. Currently, managers have an option to set their tone for each individual question. Personally speaking, I rarely change this from the default "calm" and can't say I've noticed many others change it too often either. I'm not sure there's any huge impact unless you go to the extremes regularly. I thought it may add something to the interview experience if the answers to questions determined the tone of the interview. For example, if you have a pre-match interview and your answers are suggesting the players are pumped up and excited, this could mean that your tone automatically adjusts towards aggressive. This could possibly adjust answers to the following questions as well. In another situation, during contract negotiations with the chairman for instance, this could mean that repeatedly giving assertive answers may make the meeting soon come too aggressive affecting your relationship with the chairman etc. This could mean that the existing system that uses responses to determine relationships with the various parties you come in to contact with would receive more feedback and enhance that relationship aspect further.   22. I usually holiday the game until my next match during international breaks just to speed things up a bit and something that drives me mad is when a player makes a request when you're away. You come back and read through your news and see something like 'Player X unhappy after row with manager X' and It can be for any reason but usually contract or playing time related. Now what of course is wrong here is that you couldn't have had a row with player x seeing as you was sunning yourself on a beach somewhere. Fair enough if a player became unhappy because you had sodded off somewhere but that's not the reason, it'll be because you've refused them a contract extension or not agreed to playing them more regulary, despite not actually being there to talk to the player! Please can this either be completely removed (players/agents trying to speak to you when you're not around) or worded so that the player in question is unhappy because you're away during the season (personally i'd prefer it to just be removed). As this can also have an impact on the entire squad should any teamates decide to side with him. Cheers.

  25. Hey, I am doing a Bolton on FM18 and Hamit Altintop was out of a contract so I decided to snap him up. I already had Karacan so he would settle in too. But Wolves offered him a deal too and he joined them instead (wage was the same) of me. I agree that Wolves have more quality and that was probably his reasoning. He was with the reserves for most of the season and played 3 times for Wolves first team in all competitions and after being released joined Brondby IF effectivly ending his career. Had he joined me he would still play in the Championship. This calls for more interaction options when transfering a player. For example I could have told him that he would play more under me and that could have changed his decision,so I think that having the chance to give valid reasons why he should choose your club would take the game forward. It goes the other way too, I would like to properly explain to a player why I am selling him. For example If I decide to sell a player I have very good relations with but he just does not fit in anymore I should be able to explain him that because I don't want our relationship to detiriorate
