Multiple times recently I have had clear goals ruled out for offside. What happens usually is that one of my strikers is near the ball when it goes in but was not interfering with play at all and didn't even touch the ball on its way into the goal. Incidents like this have cost me games recently, with my most recent game being a 2-1 loss where a last minute equalizer for my team was incorrectly ruled out. Here's the scenario: my winger swings in a cross that hits one of their defenders and goes in for an own goal, then what happens? The goal is ruled out because my striker behind their defender, not touching or interfering with him at all was offside. This is absurd. There was another case where one of my players scored an absolute screamer from outside the box only for it to be ruled out for offside, the game pointing to one of my players who was standing at least four or five yards away from the ball as it went in and had turned to watch it fly in. He was nowhere near the goalkeeper, and was not blocking his view at all or affecting any of the defenders in front of him. In real life obviously match officials can make judgement on whether a player was interfering with play or not based on a number of factors. Computers cannot make these decisions. Clearly the game is set-up in a way where players are either registered 'active' or 'inactive' depending on where they are in relation to the ball as it goes in. This system clearly doesn't work as shown in my examples where the game got it wrong in a way that no real life official would. Why not just make it so the game only calls offside when a player in a offside position actually touches the ball. It's clear from my experience playing the game that players rarely act smart enough to effect the game off the ball, so why make the system needlessly complicated to accommodate for scenarios that never happen? Especially when it's resulting in mistakes like the ones I've mentioned happening to me. It just seems ridiculous, but hopefully they fix it soon.
Hi, I think Nic may have logged this as a feature request rather than a bug, but adding it in here for completeness. Cheers, TE
Hi everyone, I'm currently playing as the team I support, Aston Villa. So far it has been a struggle, despite currently being 3rd in the league, my front three are really playing below par and can't get into games, very rarely scoring or assisting, with most goals coming from midfielders long shots, corners or free kicks. I'm playing the tactical preset gegenpress with a few alterations and my only first team signing has been Joe Lolley to play inside forward on the right. Tactic We are consistantly failing to create good chances against any team and all of our games are very close in scoreline Fixtures Here are the stats of Grealish, Lolley, Abraham, Hogan and Kodjia Jack Grealish Joe Lolley Tammy Abraham Scott Hogan Jonathan Kodjia And here is how I'm setting them up, I've messed with how the forward plays a few times, as pressing forward hasn't really worked out and left them pretty isolated, I've also noted that all of my front 3 are being caught offside a lot every game. Here is how I'm setting my front three up Striker Inside Forward - Right Inside Forward - Left Any help and advice would be much appreciated, if any more screenshots or information is needed then please let me know. Thanks
I've been playing your game a few years now and I am still NONPLUSSED by the Game Engine! Why is it even in the 2016 version, that every time I make a substitution, the opposition score? -(This goes back to the 2012 version!); then if I don't make a sub one of my key players gets injured?? Why is it that the referee calls offside when there can be up to 4 players (defenders) in front of the the attacker? before the ball is played? Eh??? Why is it that the only team that seems to score from corners are the opposition?? In the 2012 version it was my team and the others scoring from corners, now, half way through the season, my team have not scored one!! but the opposition have, what!! (despite tinkering etc)?? I really enjoy your game, BUT, I have coached this wonderful game in real life for 30+ years, and cannot work out your game engine at all, as it is, in some parts, unrealistic to the actual game as played. Might I suggest that you review this, and if not already, get someone on board who has coached/played the game at a top level as this part of it is REALLY frustrating.
