Liverpool FC - An Introduction Having been an FM Handheld/Older versions of FM player since I was a small boy, it's time for me, Elegant Scoop, to dip my feet into a proper in depth Football Manager save. I'm not a noob by any means, but various factors such as school, work, college, socializing etc. have put me off buying and playing the full computer version of the game and spending time developing tactics and all that goes with it. An injury to my right hand has put me out of work for 6 weeks and left me with time to do something, so FM18 it will be. Liverpool FC, a team that I don't support. But, like many others, I love their fans, their style of football, and their love for the game. They've been a great team to watch since Brendan Rodgers took over and his successor Jurgen Klopp has continued this easy on the eye, exciting brand. Elegant Scoop takes over the reigns at the start of the 2017/18 season. His approach mirrors that of his predecessors. Stellar signings such as Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have been added to a young and exciting squad which is hungry for success. Can the rookie manager take Liverpool to the top? Let's find out...
Hi Guys I've read a few of the recommended posts for tactic building as well as pairs and combinations, applying all that knowledge isn't that easy. I'm not used to playing counter but want to try it out. I'd like some constructive criticism of my tactic, if you feel its total rubbish I'm not averse to changing it drastically as its a work in progress. I envisaged a counter system where a central striker would link with the midfield and also hold the ball while pacey wide men would make runs beyond the defence after the striker draws the defenders away. I'm playing with MUFC so I thought that giving Pogba the RPM role would allow him to move freely and pop in the box occasionally as well. I haven't put in any specific team instructions because I didn't want to overcomplicate things I just added overlap since the wide men will cut in a lot and the wing backs will have space. Some problems I've identified: Players tend to play too many long balls and defenders are overly ambitious with passing leading to very low possession Lack of movement causes players to shoot from distance too often Lack of clear cut chances Midfielders don't track runners, although this may just be down to individual player stats The few positives I found were: The defensive line is relatively stable Opposition generally don't create many chances despite lots of possession Goals conceded are low and generally aren't from shots in the box. Any help will be appreciated thanks. If you feel I should read a post by one of the experts or re-read something feel free to point it out.
I've only just got FM17 after having a hiatus for about 5 years, so pretty much the first thing I've done is start trawling through the best coaches list to make sure my coaching team are the business. One big thing I've noticed though is after looking through about 3 different best coaches list from 3 different websites, most of the unemployed coaches mentioned don't show up in my game when I look for them? Is there someone I can do to fix that? Or is there something else I'm missing? *I've started a game with Palace on pretty much the standard settings within a large database with playable leagues in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Scotland.*
