Does Switch version have bug in match engine? I have both PC & ipad version and do not have this issue. The last time I had this experience was with FM16 (worse of all) then FM17 (but was fixed within a week with patch). FM18 PC & iPad was perfect for me - balanced and not much issue. Tactics: I only switch between 1 or 2 tactics per season (typically just positioning of the Midfielder; either CM or DM position) I buy the players according to the roles I want to play (to ensure those player best fit my system) I adjust the instructions only when necessary in game (not randomly changing from time to time). Players Attack - Sanchez, Dybala, Bale Midfield - Pogba, Matic, Sergei Mili.. Defence - Raphael, Bailley, Dier, Pierra Goalkeeper - De Gea Problem: Winning 5 games & losing 5 games consecutively randomly almost like a pattern. Opponent scoring almost all from far post crossing regardless of big or small teams. Inconsistency in players & team performance throughout 3 seasons. Midfielder cannot hold and losing possession like crazy or just standing like dummy. Attack missing open goals or looks like panic with stupid pass or shoot - how is it possible to miss at 3 on 1 with goalkeeper so many times in 1 match??? Even with the players I have, I feels like playing the 21 Squad in Premier League.... ADVISE???
Hello Guys I play FM since long time ago, even before the FM, I used to play CM. My question here is that I've been facing problems with all teams that I play with. I start the season well and then I have a HUGE drop of performance of my team and start to lose every match, even to teams that are struggling to keep themselves on the same division and games at my home. I already tried with different teams, different aproaches, different team talk approaches, tatics, rotation players, the match preparation and the fitness of the players are fine. I already visited some foruns and it is not just me who is facing this problem and nobody seens to know how to solve this problem. Does anybody know how to solve this for good???
Hi all! Since 2015 came out, I've been completely stumped. 2014 and below, I've done at least reasonably well with some good successes and understandable failures. Yet since 2015 it's been a losing battle between me and the AI. Whether it's full or classic mode, Lille, Arsenal or Shanghai, I can't seem to produce good results. In fact, since 2016, I haven't won a single classic game. Most of the time I get slaughtered. I've read pretty much all of the documentations from this site and others regarding tactics, training, team talks and more and have learned a lot along the way, yet I'm still struggling. I even bought myself a whiteboard to write tactical ideas and game scenarios. The opponent just always seems to be better in every scenario - it's infuriating! My most common (and preferred) setup is to play expansive football with a mid-high, light team press, in which possession is controlled by a three man midfield consisting of a deep lying playmaker (D), a central midfielder (S) and an attacking midfielder (A), or two central midfielders (D, A/S) and an attacking midfielder (S/A). I use at least one attacking fullback (the other being support) as part of a single pivot defensive system. I alternate between wingers and wide midfielders and prefer an advanced striker over a deep lying striker. I play a sweeper keeper if the team has a decent option. So typically I end up playing 4231/4411 (sometimes 4123/451/442 if my lack of wins gets to me, but this doesn't help anyway). I almost always use 3 attack, 4 support and 4 defend duties (incl. GK). I used to play a structured/control setup but I'm now alternating between flexible and fluid. As a rule, I like to keep my team and player instructions as minimal as possible (apparently this is good, plus it matches my ideals to a tee) - I set my teams out to roam from their positions more in an attempt to create as much space as possible, and offer more unique supportive and penetrative options for the first attacker. I very rarely touch player instructions, as I don't want to delve too far away from the teams setup. When in-game, I watch the first 15 minutes on full match to see how my team are doing - we almost always end up conceding possession due to what I can only describe is the opponent being one step ahead of us. My team seem slow and hesitant on the ball, as if they're trying to slow down the game. They constantly lose the ball by holding onto it for too long, or booting it unnecessarily! Then when the opponent have the ball, they repeatedly tear us to shreds! I tend to leave my training and match preparation to my assistant, as I prefer the supervisory sort of role that allows me to concentrate on how to arrange the team in matches according to the opponent and my playing style. I always keep my press conferences as positive and upbeat as possible, and almost always get positive reactions in team talks through a passionate/assertive, do or die for the game encouragement style. I get my scouts to look for players with good off the ball or positioning attributes and choose the best suited players for the team from there. I've tried completely radical changes as well as gradual differences, I've tried playing different teams of different stature as well as managing such teams (I usually play in the PL, Championship, League 1 or French Ligue 1) yet I seem to have little to no luck in any department! Ive attached an example of my current tactics, but I'm sure it's nothing that I haven't already mentioned. Any help on this will be hugely appreciated, as I'm currently contemplating pulling my hair out!! If you've made it this far, thank you for reading through my pain!
I'm in my 4th season with Newcastle and the majority of games I play are comfortable, particularly at home. The one area that is stopping me from breaking into the european spots each season are my performances away vs teams with higher reputation (Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs). Its not just that results are poor; I barely get more than a couple of decent chances while the opposition dominate each game. I have tried several different systems over the course of three seasons, and once again I search for a tactic simply to compete against these teams away from home. I have now played 20 games away against these teams and have yet to win a game. Record against these 6 teams away from home by season: 2015/16 p6 w0 d2 l4 f2 a11 2016/17 p6 w0 d1 l5 f5 a22 2017/18 p6 w0 d2 l4 f5 a14 My current system is a 4-2-3-1 (counter, flexible). Much lower tempo, short passing, play out of defence, exploit middle, pass into space, stay on feet, look for overlap, narrow, slightly higher line. Here is my first choice line up with age and role: GK - Predrag Rajkovic 23 SK(A) RB - Ricardo Esgaio 25 WB(A) CB - Emanuel Mammana 22 CB - Brendan Galloway 22 LB - Douglas Santos 24 WB(A) CM - Carles Alena 20 DLP(S) CM - Juan Bautista Cascini 21 CM(S) LW - Goncalo Guedes 21 IF(S) RW - Fede Cartabia 25 IF(S) AM - Marcus Rashford 21 SS(A) ST - Adam Armstrong 21 CF(A) I'm after some pointers to try and help me compete better in just these away games against higher reputation teams. I by no means expect to achieve victory every time, but as the stats show I have been on the end of some brutal losses in these games and need to stop the rot. I feel my team has a lot of potential, and have beaten these teams at home (recently beating Liverpool 5-1), but maybe I lack some experience for these tough away games? There must be some pointers to help me compete better in these games? Once I get over this obstacle I should be able to push for european football at last.
