  1. FM18 All-European (Less England) Small Club to Big Club Challenge Introduction Welcome to a new chapter in the history of the ‘Euro Nation’ Challenge, born out of the recent history of the highly successful Gundo’s Challenge and the Big Euro Nation Challenge that spawned out of it. Originally set up as an alternative to the hugely successful Dafuges Challenge for FM06, Gundos Challenge offered an alternative for people who wanted to play in another European country. The Big Euro Nation Challenge followed for FM08 and, like Gundo’s Challenge, has had some fantastic stories over the years. These threads have always been hugely popular and successful thanks to those who played, and who still take part, in the challenges. Some of the stories are legendary, and hopefully more of these will be born in this, and future, versions of the game. The premise of the challenge is the same, and simple, to start with a previously unplayable club and taking them all the way to a National Title and then on to winning the European Champions League. With a variety of leagues, styles of play, different rules, and many different locations for your clubs there can be a lot of variety throughout the thread, providing a great atmosphere and stories for our users to become immersed in. General Challenge Info Possible Countries Austria Belarus Belgium Bulgaria Croatia Czech Republic Denmark Finland France - June 20th Germany Greece Holland * Hungary Iceland Ireland * Israel Italy - July 30th N. Ireland - 25th June Norway - January 13th Poland Portugal Romania Russia Scotland Serbia Slovakia Slovenia Spain - July 10th Sweden - December 15th Switzerland Turkey Ukraine Wales * Holiday for two seasons not one. League Reset Dates Austria - 13th June Belarus Belgium Bulgaria Croatia Czech Republic Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Holland * Hungary Iceland Ireland * Israel Italy N. Ireland Norway Poland Portugal Romania Russia Scotland Serbia Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden Switzerland Turkey Ukraine Wales The Rules A) Game Set-up 1) Load One Nation Only (All Available Divisions within your nation) 2) Your choice of Database Size (Large Recommended) 3) NO Edited Databases of any kind 4) Customising Database You can add players to the database up to a limit of 100,000 in total in order to add more depth to your save and also add more difficulty down the line. Suggested Adds Players from Top Clubs/Top Divisions (Europe or All Continents) - This increases the challenge at Continental Level Players Based in your Nation - This can add up to 50% more players to your game Players Based in your Region (Central Europe/East Europe/UK & Ireland) - This can add extra players likely to join your club There will be a file correcting the club/competition names, I will advise use of this. NO other additional customising is allowed. 5) Attribute Masking should be Enabled 6) Disable Ingame Editor (Please do this) 7) Optional Ticks Add Key Staff (This will give you a Scout, Physio & Ass Man by generating them if your club is without) Add Players in Playable Nations (This will ensure all clubs have a minimum number of players, generating them if needed) The extra levels of detail that you can change while in the game are up to you, as they shouldn't make a difference. B) Steps in the Game 1) Add an unemployed manager; you will not use this man to manage your club. I like "Unemployed Man or Holiday Man" 2) Go on holiday until the reset date of your chosen nation (Should take about an hour) TIP - Changing Detail Level to None will make it go faster. (Remember to change it back afterwards) TIP - Saving on the day before this date may give you a better choice of teams by reloading the game then going on holiday for one day, I would strongly recommend trying this. 3) Add a new manager - Use yourself, or a created character to help build a story line a) Personal Details - Your Choice b) Tracksuit vs. Trainer - Your Choice c) Past Experience lowest Possible (Generally Sunday League) d) Coaching Licenses lowest Possible (None) e) Other options are up to you TIP - If you add the language of your country of choice it will make it easier at the beginning TIP - Training now includes you at some level depending on your abilities. 4) Choose to take over any club which has been promoted to the bottom playable league of your nation. TIP - Easiest way in FM17 to see this is on the "Season Review" screen, showing the "Promoted Clubs" TIP - You can confirm your club by checking the Domestic History's page for not being at this level since start of game 5) Retire your unemployed manager. 6) Manage your club to National Title & European Champions League Victory 7) Completing the Challenge. C) Signing of Players 1) You must be able to scout them TIP - You don't actually have to scout them, just be able to TIP - You can check your scouting range on the Scouting page 2) Alternatively (If you can't scout them), you must bring them on a trial first 3) You are able to sign anyone sent to you via Agent Offer TIP - Make sure you screenshot the Agent offer 4) In later versions you can get your DoF to find players, he will bring in players not in Scouting Range, these are also allowed. TIP - Grab a screenshot of your DoF signing them D) Posting 1) Player naming is allowed. (This is a warning for those of you who do not wish to see this) 2) Discussion of tactics is allowed. (This is another warning for those of you who do not wish to see this) Expected Updates We have minimum expectations when it comes to a first up post and also in the end of season updates. The Bold pages are necessary for everyone; the others are some suggestions that will get others interested in your posts and following your club. All other screenshots are welcome and encouraged, but we please ask that the majority are posted as links, because lots of pictures can make the page very slow to load. First Post: Domestic Leagues History (Club) Profile (Manager) Overview (Club) Squad (Club) End of Season Updates: Transfers (Club) - This is so we can see the ins & outs League Table (Competition) Squad (Club) Information (Manager) Profile (Manager) Information (Club) Profile (Players) Progress of your club should be documented using this thread; we want to hear the story of your club all the way through. Please keep us updated, even if you are doing badly. If you title your end of season report in bold this makes it easier to identify. Everyone will be supportive, and really get into your game if you give more detail. E) Other 1. If you are Sacked 1. You can Restart from the beginning or; 2. Continue your game and pick a new club (Under Same Rules) at the end of the next season or; 3. Add another Euro League/Remove Current League, holiday a whole season and continue 1. You can still only have one nation running at a time 2. Once the league becomes active you MUST holiday a full season 3. The club must be one of those unplayable from the beginning 2. No Restrictions on Parent or Feeder Clubs 3. International Management allowed from FM14 forwards (But you cannot start as an International Manager) The use of any external utilities and editors (Such as Genie Scout or FMM) are prohibited. As of FM14 there are also unlockables, these are also prohibited, please don't use them. It would be appreciated if you also ticked the box at the start which prevents the use of the ingame editor. How to Post a Screenshot 1) While in FM, press the 'Prt Sc' button (usually next to F12 on your keyboard). 2) Open an image editing program such as Paint and paste the image 3) Save the file as a JPEG or PNG 4) Upload the image to an image hosting website such as Photobucket or Imageshack 5) Post the direct URL to the image here. Alternatively using ALT + F9 in game saves a screenshot to your user data folder. (You can also edit this in the shortcuts options) The Euro Nation Motivational I would like to thank all of you who choose to participate in this thread this year, and to wish everyone taking on this challenge the best of luck on a long and hard journey to managerial success! I have personally had a number of hugely enjoyable saves over the years, first in Gundos challenge and then latterly in the Big Euro Nation Challenge. The atmosphere and support these threads have historically offered is key in making the thread, and your saves more enjoyable as I can testify to. I and some of the other regulars of these threads are here to help for the new challengers and hope everybody that participates contributes considerably to the thread. There is nothing better than getting immersed not only in your own game but providing the encouragement to other people's attempts too. Remember we are all fighting the same battle - to defeat the AI (and uncover fabulous newgens!) - Therefore it goes without saying that any form of cheating will be severely chastised. Don't do it! I know that it is painful to lose a European Final or to lose the title on the final day (I have been there myself on more than one occasion) but eventual success down the line is all the sweeter for those defeats. Good luck to all the participants – Here’s to a successful (and enjoyable) version!!
  2. St Pats Athletic: Closest to the Guinness Brewery At just 1.2 miles away, St Pat's Richmond Park is the closest ground to the famous St James' Gate Brewery. Closer, in fact, than St James's Gate F.C. in Ireland's 6th tier who are the original workers club. My aim is to build up the club and eventually compete among the best in Europe. However, I will be doing this with only the current crop of players born in Dublin and also only players in future youth intakes also born in Dublin. As Guinness states, good things come to those who wait, and while it's going to take a long time to build up the academy, it's important that we keep close to our roots. My Irish nationality is stretching the truth a bit, and I wasn't born in Dublin like I've setup here, but I do have Irish heritage and it would be wrong to be anything other than a Dubliner for this challenge. I'm starting with Sunday League Rep, but my true to real life Continental B licence. Despite a strong history, the 5th most successful side in Ireland, St Pat's have been on a downwards spiral since last winning the league and have come close to relegation the last two seasons. We need to ensure that we are a top half top tier side and that will be the aim this season. If we achieve more than that, fantastic, but we have a small squad to start with. This is the 16 man squad I have to start with. Several players, including star striker Jake Keegan, have been demoted to the u19s and I will be looking to sell them as they don't meet the criteria. According to St Pat's website Maher, Toney and Lennon are all Dublin-born so I've kept them on. From now on we won't have that ambiguity as regen players will have a clearly defined birthplace. I'm not looking forward to cutting potential stars not born in Dublin, but that's the rules I've set.

Similar to last year adding every team's squad would be just too much work so I would recommend when starting a new game: Tick the "Add Players to Playable Teams" option as the majority of amateur teams do not have any players. Also untick "Do not add key staff". Enjoy Download Link: Irish Football Pyramid.fmf Graphics Download Link: https://sortitoutsi.net/downloads/view/39811/fm18-irish-football-pyramid-graphics
  4. Hey everyone, Finally getting around to releasing my latest file. As the title suggests, this is a custom pyramid, as there is no pyramid structure per se in real life in Ireland. In this file, you have the opportunity to take a team from the bottom division level all the way up to the Premier Division There are 13 levels in total, and they are as follows: SSE Airtricity Premier Division SSE Airtricity First Division Newstalk A Championship (2 divisions) Irish Provincial Level 1 (4 divisions) Irish Provincial Level 2 (6 divisions) Irish County Level 1 (19 divisions) Irish County Level 2 (18 divisions) Irish County Level 3 (11 divisions) Irish County Level 4 (8 divisions) Irish County Level 5 (5 divisions) Irish County Level 6 (4 divisions) Irish County Level 7 (2 divisions) Irish County Level 8 (1 division) The cup competitions are as follows: President's Cup: Takes place before the start of the league season between the winner of last season's Premier Division and FAI Cup FAI Cup: All teams from Levels 1 to 4 take part EA Sports Cup: For Levels 1 and 2 only Newstalk A Championship Cup: For Level 3 only FAI Intermediate Cup: For Levels 4 and 5 only FAI Junior Cup: For Levels 6 and below Connacht Senior Cup: For teams from Connacht from Levels 4 and 5 Leinster Senior Cup: For teams from Leinster from Levels 4 and 5 Munster Senior Cup: For teams from Munster from Levels 4 and 5 Ulster Senior Cup: For teams from Ulster from Levels 4 and 5 Youth football is as follow: All youth players from the youth intakes will be 15 years old For Levels 1 and 2, there is a specific league and cup competition: the Irish Under-19 National League and the Enda McGuill Cup For Levels 3 and below, the youth football is regional divisions generated using the reserve rules in the editor Here is the link for downloading the file. 5. Hi all, I originally got this idea from a post in @Makoto Nakamura's Final Countdown thread: Although this post had nothing to do with me, it piqued my interest. It also gave me an idea. Why not try and achieve this? First of all, who the hell are Cherry Orchard? Notable former players include Andy Reid, Connor Sammon, Keith Fahey, Anthony Stokes and Glenn Whelan. Here is the setup for the game: I've loaded every player from the UK to make it as in depth possible for us. The league I have for Ireland is a restructure that has 5 tiers, each with 18 teams. The link for it is here. Cherry Orchard are in the 3rd tier, so it gives me a bit of time to get used to things. Now, on to the aims. Obviously the end goal is to win the Champions League, but this isn't going to be a youth only save. However, there will be some rules: My DoF or whoever else is in charge will make offers and manage the contract signings for the team. I however, will finalise the signings. I will only okay the signings if one of 2 conditions are met: 1. If the players CA is higher than my current top player/s in that position. 2. If the players PA is higher than my current top players CA in that position. I think I'll leave contract extensions to the others as well, might make things a bit more interesting and harder for me as well. I will sign all staff, extensions will be left out of my hands though. Alright I think that just about does it, let's do this!

    Help with Irish Database Error

Hi, so I've been working on a custom database for football in Ireland, creating a 12-tier pyramid, and I've run into an issue at the 4th tier where the league splits into different regional subdivisions. The specific stated error is "Conflicting number of promoted teams between Irish Regional Level 4 and Connacht Senior League Premier Division." The league structure as I've set it up is as follows: Tier 1: Premier Division: 10 teams Tier 2: First Division: 10 teams (both like the league is set to be in 2018, except the First Division relegates to tier 3) Tier 3: Promotion League: 16 teams, 4 relegated to Regional Leagues Tier 4: -Connacht Premier Division: 8 teams, 1 promoted, 1 relegated -Leinster Premier Division: 16 teams, 1 promoted, 2 relegated -Munster Premier Division: 12 teams, 1 promoted, 2 relegated -Ulster Senior League: 14 teams, 1 promoted, 0 relegated Tier 5: -Connacht First Division: 9 teams, 1 promoted, 0 relegated -Leinster First Division: 10 teams, 2 promoted, 1 relegated -Munster First Division: 12 teams, 2 promoted, 1 relegated As it is, there's no promotion or relegation playoffs, and the settings for tier 4 is 4 automatically promoted and 5 automatically relegated. Past tier 5, if there's any issues I'm not worried about them right now. I've tried fiddling with the numbers a little bit, changing it to only one team relegated from each relevant division or making it 4 and 4 but for the life of me I cannot figure out why this isn't working specifically with the Connacht division. I've tried looking for my answer on the forum here but nothing I've found has been specific enough to get me where I need to get. Any help would be much appreciated, I've put a lot of time into this database and I'd really like to be able to play a save with it. I've uploaded the editor file to the post but if you need any other information then let me know. League of Ireland 12-Tier Pyramid 1.6_D4AEB1E2-A604-49A4-95B7-6EDB2BF12968.fmf
  7. Currently managing Ireland in FM17 and as we don't have a plethora of young talent coming through the ranks, I was wondering if there was any way to find any players from abroad who haven't declared for their country yet but could declare for me if I was interested. Thanks very much
  8. After many months of work I'm delighted to announce that the Irish Football Pyramid Database has now been completed and is available for download. Also untick "Do not add key staff". Enjoy!
  9. So, after the United troubles, we're off again, hopefully with as much success, and much less computer meltdowns. Thanks to some great help from @Makoto Nakamura who provided me with a database edit that activated the Irish lower leagues, we're off on a journey around the Emerald Isle. The plan is to work up the ladder, and take a job in the higher levels of the Irish structure(there is no promotion/relegation between the 2nd and 3rd level, so you can't work a single club all the way up), and once there build something, hopefully boosting the national team along the way. No initial plans on limitations or anything, but everything is subject to change really. This is were we start in January 2017, no club, no badges, no skills, no history.
  10. What's going on guys, As most of you know, the Irish leagues are playable, but as there are only two divisions with no relegation from the second tier, it can get boring quite quickly. I first discovered a fan made database for use in FM16, and luckily it works for 17 as well. It goes down to about the 6th tier with all the regional levels, while still maintaining the structure of the top tiers. Promotion into the second tier occurs through a playoff including the winners of the provincial divisions. The one out of the four who triumphs replaces the one who finishes bottom of the First Division. I think Ireland is a really interesting place to choose because while the nation is fairly strong internationally, the domestic side of things is not as much. This is due to most of the decent players jumping ship to the higher quality leagues in England and Scotland, among others. The aim here is to develop from within, and holding on to those players for as long as possible. Of course that is harder than it sounds, with the tendency to run out of money really quickly in Ireland, but I will try my best. Onto the team I have chosen: I have chosen them as they were relegated from the Premier League last season, are favourites to go straight back up and have decent facilities on top of that. My manager has the lowest possible qualifications and is from Uganda, so hopefully we get some regens through the system from there. I have loaded an add-on league in Uganda as a playable league too, as well as England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Non-playable leagues added for some realism/interest include Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Portugal, and Brazil. A quick picture of the manager: Next up we will take a look at the squad, and the tactics I will be using.
  11. In Football manager 2016 I am managing Galway United an Irish team and I am in the year 2020 when all of a sudden the Irish national team and the Irish u-19s have all fake players. Is there any fix to this glitch because all the players who regularly play for the Irish national team players on my team now have abmysal morale because they have been left out of the national team setup and its affecting my team morale. I've been playing this save for 5 years and this has never happened before.
