  1. Hey everyone, I think in order to improve the personalisation and lets managers to create the relationships with the squad, it'd be nice to have different types of conversations with our squad. Let me give some examples: - Before starting each season, I'd like to have a chat with the star player of my squad to say him: "You will be the brain of the team, we need you to perform well in order to reach our targets". - For a wonderkid, "I have huge confidence in your potential, show your ability when you have the chance." - For an experienced player, "The team need your leadership, I believe youngsters can learn a lot from you. Take them under your wings." - For the club icons when they are in their last terms of playing career, "You are one of the icons of the club, I want you to continue your career as a coach/scout/assistant manager when you hang up your boots". - For the players who are unhappy with the high training workload (as - for the best of my knowledge - there is no way to resolve their unhappiness except changing their training routine), "All of your hard work will let you be a first team regular/have a chance in the first team". That would give a result through the personality of the player and the relationship between the manager and the player. All of these conversations obviously affect the players' morale depending on their personalities, their short & long term plans, and their relationships with the manager & club. Of course, the conversations can be detailed and varied.
  2. There are many times I wanted to praise or criticise a player for his last match performance but there are not options which suit the way he played. For example, a midfielder scored and I just wanted to say good work for the goal but the only options to praise a midfielder when he scored one goal is to praise his passing or chances created. If he didn't have a high passing success rate or number of key passes, that means I can't praise him even if he has a high overall rating, so as to avoid bad reaction. There are many similar situations. 1. praise a ball-winning midfielder / deep-lying playmaker in central midfield position for defensive work 2. praise a full-back for his involvement in attack (e.g. key pass, crossing, etc.) 3. praise a striker (most likely false-nine / deep lying forward / completed forward / target man / trequartista) for chances created I am more than satisfied with the number of options I can choose to criticise a forward's recent performance for him not creating chances, not scoring enough, not leading the line, or pass too badly, etc., but clearly the options to praise a player's last match performance did not catch up.
  3. Balcome (player below) was angry that i rejected a loan deal to MK Dons despite the fact that MK Dons actually rejected it because they secured other loan targets. It's not that big of a deal, but it needs to be fixed. I have the safe file if it is necessary right after it happened.
  4. In the January window on my FM18 save with Bordeaux, Shanghai Shanggang came in with an offer for Toulalan, the club captain and one of its two team leaders. On the offer screen was the message that "his agent has indicated that Toulalan wishes to speak to the club", and since the offer was equal to his value and I didn't want him sulking and bringing the squad down with him - I'd taken over with them in the bottom three - I accepted. He duly agreed terms, saying in the news item post-transfer that he moved for his family's financial security, and since they're paying him £150k p/w rather than the £30k-odd he was getting at Girondins, who can blame him? Fair enough. 15 players objected to the sale - which is also fair enough - led by one of our highly influential midfielders. But why isn't there an option in the conversation that ensues to say "I only sold him because the player said he wanted to discuss terms" given that that's feedback you get from the transferred player himself? Telling them "we needed to cut the wage bill" had a grain of truth to it, but like every other option on the list wasn't the reason I'd sold him, and while 9 players accepted it, I've now got a sulking six to deal with who are unhappy with the way I treated Toulalan (y'know, giving him exactly what he wanted). Surely it would be pretty simple to add this to the list of conversation options when it was appropriate, and even if some players still argued that "you should've put the club's interests first" or whatever, that'd at least make more sense.
  5. I'd like to see the option added to be able to speak to a player when a bid comes in, so for example a bid comes for your star player it's a decent bid you don't want to lose him. It would be nice to have an option to speak to the player to gauge what his reaction would be if the bid was rejected. Maybe also an option to ask the Captain how he thinks the squad would react if the bid was rejected. Likewise if the bid is to be accepted you could check with the player if he is OK with leaving, and check with the Captain again how would the squad react to the player leaving.
  6. This is my first post, so go easy on me! Been playing football manager since 2001 I think, and only just decided I think I could chuck a few idea's for the new one! Let me know what you think!! As much as we'd all hate it, player power is a part & parcel of today's game. On my West Ham career mode I found my top players gaining interest from Barcelona, but managed quite easily to get them to stay put. In today's game, something like that would probably force a player to go on strike, refuse to train or Play, and I'd like to get more 'jip' and playing up from the agents and player's. Such as them really trying to engineer a move, being spotted away, isolating from training, even players having bust up's on the training pitch due to conflicting personalities etc etc. Other things I'd like to be added is increased manager interaction, Mourinho on my game always gets one over me and loves to gloat about his success. I'd like some way to implement that on the touch line, e.g ignore handshake, maybe mind games on the touchline with the manager, making rival games have that 'edge' we all know and love. Really vamp it up. Lastly I think the 3d match engine needs a lot of work, the match when in progress, you tend to know after a while of playing what's leading to a goal and what isn't, even with extended highlights, again like managers, I'd like to see more player interaction, such as more gripping tackles, game getting an edge, players having 'argie bargie'. Pushing each other, as I think in these big games, it feels too clean. We'd all like a hot headed player getting fouled one too many times and retailiates and a fee players get involved in mini scuffles. This would also give you the option of trying to wind up opposition players and get them to lose their head to benefit you. Got a few more ideas but I'd love to hear what some of you think!
  7. I know social media was added in FM 17 and I loved the idea of it. However I want more than just one guy hating on my new signing and the other one absouloutly loving it. For example it would be cool to follow some of your own players on twitter. This would give you more of an idea of what they're actually like rather than just the usual personalities on the info screen. Let's say player A breaks his leg then player B could wish him a speedy recovery. Or if a player is unhappy and slags you off on twitter it would be nice to see the actual tweet like Berahinhos one on West Brom refusing to sell him. I know a lot of you will propably say that you would rather see improvements to the match engine rather than things like this. Bit for me it's the small details, the narritive in your head that makes this game special. Also, please forgive some of my english, I'm swedish. Thanks for reading!
  8. Is there no way to interact with players / teams in FMT 2017? I'm not talking about press conferences or team talks, but seems odd (massive oversight) that you could do this on previous mobile versions, but can't praise/grumble in the Touch version, even in the same basic manner. Or am I missing something?
  9. Training Related. I've set something of a rule for myself. Naturally, 99% of my players (both senior and U20s) will progress well in training throughout the year, so I praise their training performances 4 times a year, I interact with all my players individually (both senior and U20s) at the same time. Of course, whenever I see the red arrows, I warn them. I'm currently on March 11th, and after checking my notes, I praised them on: -28.09 -29.11 -12.01 So, I'm about to praise them again one of these days. What do you guys do? Do you praise them for training or not? Performances Related. I hold a team meeting twice every year. One in January and the one when the season ends. Of course, when someone is unhappy and caused some of his teammates to become unhappy, I address the issue. As for individual praising player performances, I mostly do the same with training (check Training Related), but I track the progress of some of my players and act accordingly despite the "4 times a year rule". But check this out. I offered a new contract to one of my best players (Cristian Pavon, AMR, Professional) because he attracted a lot of interest and had a minimum fee release clause of 28m(was red-locked when I wanted to buy him). Contract accepted on 3rd of January. He was a 1st Team player and now is a Key Player. The first Key player in my squad, because I don't like to have many Key players. Immediately, his form dropped: I warned him after 3 matches, then got injured (not serious) and now it seems like he is back on track. After the match vs Chelsea (CHL 1st KnR) I praised his performance (he wasn't PoM). And now, after our last match vs Panathinaikos, he even performed better (he wasn't PoM). So, what should I do? Praise his recent form? Not? Also, goalkeepers tend to have average ratings all the time, that's why I rarely, if not at all, praise them. I only praise them for training performances. This is how my main gk's form is atm: I've never praised him for performances, only for training, one time this year. Should I praise his recent form or it doesn't matter? Loans Related. I praise the development/form once a year, only for the ones that I'm planning to keep the next year in my squad. Should I do it more frequently? Conduct. I've never used it. Can someone help me as to when should someone use it? What do you guys do in these situations? Am I doing something wrong?
  10. I understand that this should be put into the bugs forum, but before that can anyone decode what Oscar means? He is currently unhappy in Shanghai and wants to move to a bigger club. The club is currently in the Asian Champions League, the top in Asia. The only more prestige competition I could qualify is the Club World Cup, which is only achievable by winning the Champions League, and any sane mind would suggest that qualifying for CWC every year is not necessary realistic. If he is talking about the UEFA Champions League then I would have no chance at all to offer that Thanks in advance. It seems that there is another instance of such "bug" from another competition -
  11. Sometimes as in real Football clubs, there is transfer bids, falling out with the manager or coach, it could be useful to send a player away from the club to help them get their thoughts into place...This could be because they have been touted as a signing and their head was turned, or they are unhappy with their training, or a bust-up with a player. It may just be a player wanting more money but thought i would suggest the idea and see what people thought? Why you may be asking....Benefit of having this would again provide the manager with a more realistic view of what a real-life manager goes through with different players etc
