  1. Hello guys. I am the current manager of Wales Under 21s and Harrogate town as well. I am currently on 4th rank in Vanarama National League. My problem is that my team is really uncertain. It can win a match in one moment and lose it in another. For example; My team defeated Burton Albion in FA Cup Second Round with a score of 8-2 lost to AFC fylde which is at 24th position in my league with score of 3-0. What I mean to say is that no matter which tactic I use, the result is always a random and its stands same for the players. You never know which player is going to play well. I lost 2 matches back to back against lower level teams with an attacking tactic so I turned to balanced tactic against another low ordet club but lost again which was quite frustrating as I am determined to win the Vanarama National Leagur title. Also while using a bit defensive tactic the team was not creating any chances so I made the team train in attack mode for a week yet their performance in attacking third was below far. The wingers never cross the ball, whenever they do, the ball is always blocked by defenders and goes for a corner (and when I say always, I am not kidding). The strikers never face towards the opponents net and when they recieve the ball they lose it while they turn towards the goal. For the set pieces, we are too bad at it even though I always add about 3 set piece sessions(defend) in a week, yet we fail to protect the net. I need suggestions specially on training part because I dont think that even makes a difference in the game Thank you in advance.
  2. I play a 4231 with Arsenal, and my strikers won’t score. It doesn’t matter what club I use, I can’t get them to score. This is my tactic, what can I do to make them score? I have Haland, Geubells, Dolberg and Aubumeyang. This shows my best XI and my team, which isn’t my best XI, just a team I have set out currently.
  3. Into my 5th season with Young Boys and each season a reoccurring issue is that I’ve had the issue of not converting enough touches into goals (see the picture attached) - 195 touches and only 4 goals seems crazy! I play a 4-2-3-1 tika taka style where I dominate possession (see picture attached) Can anyone help in addressing this issue? I have changed training in the past in terms of adding in more chance creation and conversion but doesn’t seem to have that much effect Thanks!
  4. Hi I found a minor bug during gameplay when your team scores alot of goals during the season it will sometimes creates minor bugs somewhere else ingame... In the first screenshot i've uploaded you can see that my team Coventry has scored at least 306 goals but in the second screenshot you'll see that it's only 52 goals. The first screenshot is the correct one. So i think the game can't handle more than 250 goals during a season... Best Regards DjHazze81
  5. im playing for fulham in prem, i regularly experience games that go 3-3, 2-2 or something similar and sometimes more goals. Is it a bug? there seems to me that the attacking tactics in this game are too op.
  6. i have been playing for fulham in the prem and almost finished first season and something that i´ve noticed that theres way too many goals in the match engine. i dont know the reason, maybe AI is playing with attacking tactics too much. I regulary see 6-0, 6-3 (recently) quite ridicolous as this happens too much and normally theres like a striker that scores 4 or 3 goals. I know that can happen IRL but surely not every week or every other week in real life prem?
  7. Hello guys, so I have been using a tactic by Eusebio which I downloaded fmscout website. The attack has been quite reliable but defense keeps me quite disappointed as I have to struggle in matches even where I scored 4-5 goals or even suffer defeat Here is my tactic: And here are the instructions : Please suggest the changes so that my defense can also become reliable. Thanks !
  8. Suggestion - Something I have wondered for a while is can you include in all time records the leading scorers in competitions. For instance for the English Premier League you would have Alan Shearer on 260 i believe. Then when you have a player get close to this milestone it would appear in news feeds and media/interviews as it would currently for other records.
  9. I am starting to become fed up with FM18. I am in my 4th season with Crystal Palace (My Own Team I Support) and I just can't establish any consistency. I have finished between 9th and 13th every season but playing games are just so frustrating for a number of reasons. No. 1: This one drives me up the wall the most. My players are brutal for conceding within 5-10 minutes after we score a goal, I mean every game. We score a goal within two minutes the other team goes up the pitch on the attack and scores, even though my team has good concentration stats, I can't tell you how many pens I've snapped because of this!! No. 2: Like the concentration stats, my players also have decent passing stats but the amount of goals that we concede because of sloppy passes from my own players is scandalous. No. 3: I have two four star strikers that have finishing stats of 17 and 18 that can't seem to hit the back of the net from 6 yards, even in their natural advanced forward role. And then some second rate striker with a finishing stat of 11 will bag a brace for the opposition with ease. No. 4: Penalties! Luka Milivojevic is my set penalty taker but no matter who takes them we miss around 3-4/5 penalties and Butland or Plizzari in goal for me have yet to save a penalty in the four seasons. I have tried everything to fix these problems, I've tried using different tactics with different roles. I have hired some of the best defensive coaches in the game and played with a well structured tactic and still can't stop conceding. The tactic I use is the same one I used to use in FM16 and I qualified for the Champions League nearly every season with a much less talented team than the one I have now. If anyone has any help as to how I can fix these problems it would be much appreciated, because I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure it out. This is my team and tactics.
  10. Hey, just thought this was impressive.. 9 goals for hernandez alone and a 14 goal match! A record? In a prem league fixture..
  11. FM18 beta doesn't have this display feature anymore (all FM versions had it): When a player scores a goal, the flashing announcement mentions how many goals he has scored during the season (18 goals, 25 goals, etc.) Can you please add this display feature back on?
  12. Hey The succesfull Tweebier tactic from last year didnot work quite as good in fm2017, so I have made a few changes. Three central defenders in stead of 2 to make the defense more solid and 2 central midfielders on attacking because I need them to play the ball forward and I need them in the box. Tried it with 5 teams on different levels to make sure it works: Man. United, Cambridge, Dag & Red, Eindhoven and PSV. Didnot change a thing, no instructions to nobody: just went on holiday for the whole season. The results: Man. United: finshed 1st (prediction 3th) Cambridge: Finished 1st (prediction 15th) Dag & Red: Finished 3rd (predicton 17th) Eindhoven: Finished 1st (prediction 9th) PSV: Finished 1st (prediction 1st) When you play all your games yourself the results are even better, especially when you can scout your own players. Scouting means looking at the players gamestats first and then at their attributes. So scouts are very important to be succesfull. Get as many of them as possible. For instance: For a goalkeeper I look at saves held, and saves predicted. For central defenders I look at: interceptions, headers won per 90min For Wingbacks: Interceptions and crosses completed Midfielders: interceptions and keypasses Attackers: goals per 90min (especially the poacher) and keypasses. Look for a guy who played moren than 10 games and has at least a 1,00 goal per 90 minute ratio. This works for me every time, on alle levels. If their gamestats are good, I look at their attributes. Are the attibutes total crap compared to the level your team is playing on it is no use, otherwise buy him!!! Even if he doesnlot look that good. I started this way with Nuenen (5th level in The Netherlands thanks to the league update from VincelaBera on fmscout) (got 2 promotions), switched to Eindhoven (promotion and won Eredivisie) and switched to PSV (won Eredivise 2 times, KNVB Cup and Champions League. With PSV I only have average players and I beat the **** out of Barcelona and Madrid with my Moneyball-scouting method and with this tactic. Some thoughts/tips: The poacher is extremely important; this is your main goal scorer . Find a guy with no preferred moves. For the deep lying playmaker: likes to switch ball to other flank is very usefull and this is the guy who makes hunderds of interceptions a season. So scout on that gamestat! The one thing that irritates me is that it is impossible to make one of the 3 central defenders to go forward to midfield when your team has the ball. I think this is a major flaw in FM. Tried it with a half back but the results are mixed and your defense gets less solid. The tactic: In English Leagues Controll sometimes works better. But with stronger teams I use attack. 3232 Tweebier 2017 attack.fmf 3232 Tweebier 2017 controll.fmf Good Luck.
  13. SIGN-UP Thread for The 1000 goals challenge I am going to run a little striker experiment in the coming weeks. So hope as many as possible will join for a sign-up here. Background story: FIFA is experiencing troubles with their reputation, scandals comes thick and fast, and the game of football is slowly loosing its fame and fortune. In an attempt to hype up the game, Infantino and his compatriots have made a Striker Academy to generate the next generation super stars to bring fame back to the game. Their quest is to score more than 1000 career goals in club and international football combined. Your task: Create one of these players (if there are few applicants I might allow two per person, but that will be announced later). All players will start with the same vital stats, but you should choose the attributes, name, country and starting club as per the lay out found below. There are some rules to stick by. - Players can be of any nation (I have Claassen's Mega Pack and might use any nation/league in that). - Players must start in a club of their own nation (However players from the following nations: England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Holland and Brazil might NOT start in the Top Tier, but must start at a club in Tier 2 or lower. All other nations players can start at any club.) - All players will start with the same birth date, 17 years old, same reputation, same current and potential ability (135 and -10) , 2 years contract at their first club. What to fill out: Player first name: Player last name: City of birth: Nation: Club: Height: Weight: Person data attributes: Max total 100 points from the following: Adaptability, Ambition, Controversy, Loyalty, Pressure, Professionalism, Sportsmanship, Temperament Mental data attributes: Max total 215 points from the following: Aggression, Anticipation, Bravery, Composure, Concentration, Consistency, Decisions, Determination, Dirtiness, Flair, Important Matches, Leadership, Movement, Positioning, Team Work, Vision, Work Rate Physical data attributes: Max total 120 points from the following: Acceleration, Agility, Balance, Injury Proneness,Jumping Reach, Natural Fitness, Pace, Stamina, Strength Technical data attributes: Max total 215 points (including right/left foot) from the following: Corners, Crossing, Dribbling, Finishing, First Touch, Free Kicks, Heading, Long Shots, Long Throws, Marking, Passing, Penalty Taking, Tackling, Technique, Versatility, Left Foot, Right Foot We will be following several aspects of the players careers, like club moves, highest salary, highest transfer fee, which trophies they win, any awards. But all in all it will be goals that are the most important. Winner of the challenge will be the player who is quickest to 1000 career goals, or if none reach it the total amount of goals scored when they hang up their boots. Welcome everyone, and hope to see many entries.
  14. Hello everyone. After a few months of experimenting my way around 3-at the back tactics, I might finally have stumbled upon the motherlode. An attacking 3-4-3 which guarantees goals. For my team, I chose Borussia Monchengladbach, as I felt they had the right players for the formation, and also were in the Champions League, where I can test it out against the very best. So without further ado, here it is. THE ALBATROSS 3-4-3 Why this name? The formation when in place does look like the bird in full flight, hovering with its wings spread to full length. (An Albatross has the highest wing-span of any bird) So here is the formation, and the team instructions of the tactic as well. Formation: Team Instructions: We have gone with the control strategy as we aim to dominate the play, and let the opponents adapt to our style rather than us to theirs. I've always been a fan of attacking football which looks good on the eye (No wonder I'm a Netherlands supporter), and I feel this is the strategy which suits me, and this formation the best. We've gone with fluid as we expect that little more from each player, with the wingers tracking back and helping in the defensive phase, as well as the strikers moving wide when necessary, with the midfielders pushing up and dropping back in a fluid manner, didn't go for very fluid as I felt it would complicate too many things, as well as Fluid was working very well. Player Roles: GK: Just your standard Goalkeeper. (Sommer, Patricio, Lloris, Jefferson etc) RCB and LCB: CD -Defend. Pace is definitely a factor here. Anything less than 13 acceleration and pace will struggle, as Vestergaard did for my Gladbach team at LCB, before he was dropped and eventually sold off in January. Pacey centre-backs who are alright on the ball will do a good job. [12+ passing] (Elvedi, Wimmer, Romagnoli, Rudiger, Dier etc) CB: BPD- Stopper. This guy needs to be strong in the air, so definitely check for jumping and height, as he would push up from his defensive line to win headers from opposition goal kicks. Decisions is another key stat, as he should realise when and when not to leave his deep position. You could change the role from Stopper to Defend if your opposition has a very fast striker and your CB can risk being caught out due to the sheer pace. And as this guy will spread the play out to your wingers when such an option exists, he should also be decent on the ball. (Christensen, Hoedt, Alderweireld, Koscielny, Musacchio etc) RM and LM: Winger-Support. These guys are the engines of your team, and a LOT of running is expected from the players playing in these two positions. Their job is to supplement the attack with passes to the forwards, whilst also getting into the box to provide incisive crosses when the opportunity presents itself. They also need to do a job defensively, tracking back to alleviate the problems caused by the opposition wide-men. Needless to say, 15+ Stamina and Work Rate is pivotal for your wingers to perform upto their extremely high standards. I also can't stress enough on the importance of speed, which fortunately is available aplenty in my Gladbach side. I did use left-footed players on the left and right-footers on the right, I'm not too sure as to how inverted wingers may work, but you can give it a try and let me know. (Fabian Johnson, Herrmann, Bellarabi, Mkhitaryan, Lennon, Rose{retrained to LM} etc) LCM: Deep Lying Playmaker- Defend. This guy acts as the cog in your team, sitting in front of the defenders and will recycle possession to the players in front of him, whilst always offering an option to pass the ball to. Along with this, he is also your defensive enforcer, winning the ball back in midfield and quickly laying it off to more attack-minded players, facilitating a quick counter attack. Retrain a good DM with alright passing [minimum 13] who doesn't try many risky passes to this role and you'll do very well. Christoph Kramer was one of my most solid players all season, with the highest passing accuracy in the club (88%). Note: Do make sure you have plenty of depth in this position, as it is very prone to having a lot of yellow cards, Kramer had 20 bookings over the season for me. Fortunately I had Tobias Strobl and Diego Poyet who could fill in when needed. (Kramer, Schweinsteiger, Kranevitter, Matic, Besic etc) RCM: Box-to-Box midfielder. This player during the attacking phase will be your more aggressive midfielder, venturing forward and looking at killer passes to your forwards and/or wingers. While a forward moves into a channel, the box-to-box midfielder will see the space and dart in to it, hoping to get on the end of a cross or a pull-back. The Gets into opposition area or Arrives Late in the Box trait should work well for this position I imagine. Needs to have high work-rate and stamina as he will also be doing some defensive work along with his offensive duties. High passing and vision is also a bonus. (Dahoud, Pogba, Alli, Joao Mario, Ander Herrera etc) LF and RF: F9- support. These forwards should be your skillful players, who know how to use the ball, while making the most of their movement to get into channels either wide, or inward, details of which will be shown in screenshots below. They will get a load of goals, as well as assists for your central and main striker. More often than not, I played Raffael and Lars Stindl up there, and from their stats which I will be posting below, you will see that they were absolutely phenomenal. (Raffael, Stindl, Dybala, Hazard, Penaranda, Son-Heung Min etc) ST- Complete Forward (Attack). Your main goalscoring threat, although the goals will be divided a lot amongst all three frontmen. Finishing, off the ball movement and pace are key attributes, as they were for Andre Hahn, doesn't look like he can do much with his technical stats, but he was an absolute goal-machine, leaving defenders in his wake with his 18 pace, also being the quickest to meet crosses from the wide-men/false 9's. This player doesn't need to be very flashy, just needs to get the job done. (Hahn, Berahino, Aubameyang, Hernandez, Bale, Vardy etc) Now that I've told you a fair bit about the player roles and the formation in general, let me go in deep regarding how the team works and how some link-ups prove key to the success of this tactic. DLP IN POSSESSION The DLP (Kramer) receives the ball deep and weighs his multiple options before executing the pass. THE THREE FORWARDS LINKING UP The following sequence of images show how the three frontmen are involved in building a move which leads to a goal for our main striker, Andre Hahn. Raffael picks up the ball after it is won in midfield, the opposition panics and rushes towards him, leaving acres of space on the right hand side. Raffael promptly spreads the ball out wide to Herrmann, who spots the run of Thorgan Hazard into the outside right channel. Herrmann feeds Hazard, who rolls it across goal to Hahn for a simple tap-in. LINK-UP BETWEEN WINGER AND WIDE FORWARD Fabian Johnson picks the ball up and drives at the Basel defence. As the opposition left-back rushes to close him down, Raffael sees the space in the outside left channel and is picked out by Johnson. Hahn's movement is too good for the defence to handle as he gets in front of everyone to head home Raffael's cross from out wide. CLOSING DOWN IN MIDFIELD The high pressure from the team shuts Wolfsburg's avenues down as Maxi Arnold is forced into a backpass to Phillip Wollscheid. Wollscheid hurriedly makes the clearance which is pounced upon by Andre Hahn. Three to four passes later, Hahn is in on goal and does not miss. RESULTS What good is a tactic, if it does not provide you with the results you need? I won the Bundesliga with Gladbach, edging out Bayern on goal difference, while also making a Champions League surge to the Quarter-Finals, where I was beaten on away goals after a 1-1 aggregate result against Atletico Madrid. As you can see from the league table, we scored the most goals in the league, a staggering 96, averaging 2.8 goals per game, which is a fabulous attacking record. Defensively, we conceded 42 goals, which can be considered a lot but still managed to somehow be the second best defense in the league, behind Bayern. As for our signings, the only notable ones were Carlos Vela, who could not get into the team thanks to the form of the front 3, and Kevin Wimmer on loan from Spurs in January, to replace the departing Vestergaard, who had a torrid time with us and couldn't handle the prerequisites which came with this formation. Here are a few of my notable matches- Included the 3-2 loss against Barcelona at the Camp Nou too, as from the stats we out-possessed Barcelona (no mean feat) as well as had more shots, but Suarez was just too clinical for us to handle. The match went a long way to show that on our day, we can compete with absolutely anyone, which is also shown by 3-2 and 4-0 wins over Bayern and Dortmund respectively. PLAYER STATS As I mentioned earlier, my main men were the front 3, Raffael, Hahn and Stindl. Instead of posting their stats one-by-one, I'll just leave this here and let it do the talking. Shoutout to Thorgan Hazard as well, a constant provider of goals from the bench, and really stepped up to the plate when Stindl was injured for 8-9 weeks midway through the year. Another honorable mention goes to my B2B, Mahmoud Dahoud who made it into the Bundesliga team of the year. Well, so now I've shown you the results, shown you how the team will set up, shown you what players you should look for, looks like my job is done. Oh wait, I need to provide the tactic. Here you go. THE TACTIC Albatross 3-4-3_F14C4900-C6CB-4067-BBBA-AA5875CEC5E8.fmf Enjoy, and do let me know how your season goes. I'm going to try it out myself with another team as a test, maybe a side with lower expectations, such as West Brom, with a front three of Rondon, Chadli and Berahino. Sounds exciting, already! I hope to read your feedback regarding this tactic. Thanks a lot.
  15. My players can't seem to defend on FM17 I'm winning but my Defenders are good but I'm conceding way too many goals I'm Bristol City with Magnusson and Flint at the back both very good defenders the Full Backs are also very good with Adam Matthews/Reece Wabara and Scott Golbourne/Joe Bryan my results have been wins but conceding a lot any help would be handy and if ur interested in a FM17 Online Game Add my Steam: rainxviperz (sorry for self-promotion)
  16. I can't seem to Score Goals on the New FM17 my first 3 Games as Bristol City I scored a Total of 10 goals after that it's dropped of massively I'm playing Attacking Mentality and a 4-2-3-1 and unsure of what instructions to use if I could have some help would be very helpful!
  17. Hi, I have created a tactic for my Liverpool team and just played the first full season. Overall it is not a particularly bad season finishing 6th, however I do think I should be doing much better with the squad I have. The board want me to play possession orientated attacking football which I have achieved. My goals scored record is pretty good with a total of 70. My teams average ratings are pretty impressive throughout however I cannot stop conceding goals and I need a bit of help to point me in the right direction. The following screenshots show that the goals conceded are assisted from mixed locations so it's not like they are overloading one side of the pitch. Most assists are crosses and through balls. My home form has been good, losing only one game. It is my away record that is particularly bad and this is where most of my defending issues are taking place. My team is pretty solid throughout and I think with a bit of improvement at the back we could quite easily be challenging for the title. Please help.
  18. This years FM I've been blessed to watch a decade of dominance from the best regen striker I've ever had, Rodrigues. I'm bias enough to believe he's one of the best regens anyone has gotten this year because it's hard to imagine a more prolific goal scorer, so this got me thinking. Who's your most dominant, clinical goal scorer in FM16?
  19. Hi there not really a big Youtuber like most people I know like WorkTheSpace, DoctorBenjy ect but just wondering is there anywhere that I could promote my Football Manager goals or are there anything else I could do to make the videos more entertaining so I can get moderate views instead of just 2 or 3 views per video?.
