  1. Football Manager 2021 Base Skins As with most recent Football Managers for you to make certain changes in Football Manager 2021 you need to create a new skin. Thankfully over the last few years some more stuff has been moved out of the skins folder so you only really need the Base skin if you are wanting to edit the skin graphics, fonts or colours. If you want to edit the match graphics or most of the panel xml files you no longer really need the base skins. So to make things easier for people I've put up some base skins that are identical to the default skins that come with the game, so you can add new files/graphics to these without messing up the original skins, and anything that isn't located in these new skin folders will be taken from the default locations within the game. For Football Manager 2021 at the moment you have three skins to choose from the Default (Purple) Skin, and two Dark Skins one based on the FM21 colouring (Purple accents) and one based on the FM20 colouring (Cyan and Yellow accents). Light Base Skins will follow but with no default light skin this year they require a bit more work. I'll also upload the Dark (and when they are ready Light) Versions to the Steam Workshop later for those that want a Dark/Light skin but don't need to edit them. If there are any issues with the Dark Skins please let me know as I prefer a Light Skin so may not be the best judge of the Dark Colour Scheme and have largely relied on the default scheme working, though I did make a couple of changes so there might be a need for some more tweaks later, and if you do come across an issue please upload a screenshot as it makes it a lot easier and quicker to narrow down the problem. Base21 Skin This skin is based on the Default Football Manager 2021 Skin, and is identical in appearance to that skin. Base21 Dark Skin This skin is based on the Dark Football Manager 2021 Skin, which whilst included with the game files hasn't been enabled by default. The skin layout is identical to the Default FM21 skin, however the main Purple colour has been replaced with Black, but I have left the Purple Accents. Whilst the Inbox and Scouting Centre have both been made dark unlike in the Default Skin. Base21 Dark (FM20) Skin This skin is based on the Dark Skin from Football Manager 2020. The skin layout is identical to the Default FM21 skin, and the colour is largely the same as the Base21 Dark Skin however I have switched the Accent colours over to the Yellow and Cyan used in FM20. This version also has a dark Inbox and Scouting Centre. Install Instructions: When you extract the file you have downloaded you should have one folder (with a name starting base21...) and a readme text file. Now copy the folder into your skins folder within your User Data Location, by default this is: For Windows:C:\Users\[Your Windows Username]\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\ For Mac: Users\[Your Mac Username]\Library\Application Support\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021 If done right your skins folder should look something like this: And inside for example the base21 folder you should have the following folders: To select the skin in game you will need to load the game, and go into the Preferences Menu, then in the middle you should have a section called Interface and in that is an option called Skin with a drop-down menu under it. If you select the drop-down menu it should list all of the skins you have installed, if the skin you want is listed then just select it and press the Confirm button to load it. If the skin you want isn't showing. Then you can either select the Advanced option on the left and on the top right drop down select Interface, then scroll down the Skin section and untick Use caching to decrease loading times and tick Reload skin when confirming changes in Preferences. Or in the search bar at the top type in Skin and in the listed results untick Use caching to decrease loading times and tick Reload skin when confirming changes in Preferences. Then click Confirm at the bottom, this should then take you out of the Preferences menu but if you re-enter, it should have refreshed the list of skins and your skin should now be in the list. Once the skin is loaded you can turn the skin cache back on and untick the Always Reload button. For Advanced Instructions please see these below posts: How To Stop the Blurring Effect When Processing How To Enable Background Changes How To Edit The Fonts & Colours Change Log All Base Skins have been updated for Patch 21.2 v1.2 client object browser xml file updated. Couple of Colour Changes. (See Spoiler text for values). Base21 Dark and Base21 Dark (FM20) Skins have both been updated v.1.1 Changed folder name due to Workshop issues. Fixed some colour issues (list in the spoiler text below) Made Tweaks to Player Attributes Panel - Fixed Scrollbar issue, stopped Analyzer being cut off, increased Player Pic size and re-enabled the Report option in the Small Selector Panel. Colour Changes If you have made your own changes to the Base Skins then you don't need to download the updates, instead you can just update the colours in the settings file using the below values; Base Skins for Football Manager 2021 Download Page (Link contains links to all downloads) --- You are free to do what you want with these Base Skins provided: 1. They are not sold or behind a paywall. 2. You don't advertise them as being exclusive to your website. 3. My username and blog address are included: http://michaeltmurrayuk.blogspot.co.uk/ 4. 2. Football Manager 2021 Scoreboard Mods These are a collection of Mods that switch the short (six letter) team name in the scoreboard to the normal team name as shown on the tables and enable the team logos as well. There are four versions of the mod, one that changes the team names, adds the logos but doesn't use the team colours, and three that change the team names and use the team colours with one of these only enabling logos, the second enabling both kits and logos and the third enabling kits and logos overlaid. Team Names with Logos Mod Team Names and Colours with Logos Mod Team Names and Colours with Logos and Kits either side Mod Team Names and Colours with Logos and Kits overlaid Mod FM21 SCOREBOARD MODS DOWNLOAD LINK Installation Instructions After downloading the version of the Mod you want and extracted the contents of the zip file you should have a panels folder. If you are using the Default FM21 Skin; Then you can just place the panels folder directly into your User Data Location which by default is located: Windows: \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\ MAC: \Library\Application Support\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\ If you are using a Third Party Skin then you may need to place the panels folder inside the folder for the skin you are using; Windows: \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\skins\<skin name>\ MAC: \Library\Application Support\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021\skins\<skin name>\ If the Mod doesn't work with your skin or your skin has already modified these files then you'll need to check the Advanced Instructions below as you'll need to edit the files to get it working with the skin. Advanced Instructions Full Time Review Fix. How To Create The Mod - Team Names Only Version. How To Create The Mod - Team Colours Versions. How To Display The Team Kit Instead Of The Logo. Redistribution Terms You are generally free to re-use, translate or host/link to my content without having to ask for permission provided you follow the below rules; 1. They are not sold or behind a paywall. 2. You don't advertise them as being exclusive to your website. 3. My username and blog address are included: http://michaeltmurrayuk.blogspot.co.uk/ 4. 3. I have seen a lot of people on asking how to get club colours back, while it is still possible to do, I decided to make this. It's not that hard to get club colors in header, as you can see . You will need header.xml, titlebar.xml and titlebar search panel.xml and this will work only with base skins made by @michaeltmurrayuk or skins that have not altered or modified the files I mentioned. If you are not interested on how to modify these files and just want to download, please skip to the end of the post. How to? Alright, If you are indeed using base skin, get header.xml, titlebar.xml from /fm/panels/generic in skins.fmf and titlebar search panel.xml from /generic in panels.fmf, put them into to your skin panels/generic folder. 1. Edit line 11 in header.xml and add this piece of code <container class="main_contrast_box_no_margin" red_replacement="primary"> This works fine for all clubs other than light ones, like Leeds, Spurs e.t.c, because the text and the buttons are colored in white. To solve that, You will need to edit titlebar search panel.xml for texts and titlebar.xml for the buttons . 2. In titlebar.xml, Usually you will find comments like <!-- Next Button --> relating to the button, below them and just after the widget line, add this piece of code <record id="primary_icon_properties" red_replacement="secondary" /> To these lines e.g. For the quick flicks, you only need to change it to red_replacement="secondary" e.g. 3. In titlebar search panel.xml, we do the same, just find the <!-- title area --> and <!-- description --> just below each of them, you will find widget, then you will only need to change the search icon to red_replacement="secondary" and text/desc to colour="secondary" at the end of the widget properties. e.g. Last but not least if you actually want the header to have effects/gradients like the image I posted above, it requires different step.. In line 11 of header.xml we change the class and also add an appearance property, then point it to file, which is a png file. So it will read e.g. <container class="main_box" appearance="boxes/custom/interface/titlebar/paper" red_replacement="primary" > That's all... download it below and extract it to your skin folder. 1. No rounded corners HMOD Final.zip 2. Rounded corners HMOD Final (rc).zip Optional customizations These are not essentials, but only if you need to color the sidebar and matchday titlebar. 1. Sidebar normal and rounded sidebar colored.zipsidebar colored (rc).zip 2. Matchday titlebar colored matchday titlebar colored.zip
  4. For both leagues and cups panels in the competitions tab please. And also: Clubs list panel. Many thanks.
  5. Searching high and wide for the xml's that control the green boxes that list the suitable players on this image: And also the xml that controls this panel (the pop up that appears when clicking the light green square on the top right of the boxes above): Everything I look at in the obvious place panels/team isn’t giving me code that is immediately jumping out at me. If the file layout IS in one of the obvious files, would someone also mind letting me know which bit? Thanks.
  6. Please could someone help by telling me which panel codes this page. I am look to change this bit of text to white. Thanks
  7. This may have been asked before, but I can't find any info on it. I'm pretty sure, when looking at a player that's been/being scouted, in previous FM's, the scout mentioned as being the last to scout, or currently being scouted by, used to have a link on his name to take you to his profile. This now seems to be missing in FM21. I'm mainly talking about in the report tab of a player not at the club. Either the overview page or the scout report page. Where the last scout is named. What is the code needed to add a link to the scout in question? Thanks.
  8. Quick Question - which xml controls the Team Selection Panel on your way to the match screen. https://i.gyazo.com/974c1d0c9116471bd56ca2549eaed82d.jpg
  9. I'm looking to expand the tactics panel to cover the whole screen (except the top bar). The tactics screen is expected to be the most information-intensive screen of the whole game, but we see here that a good portion of the screen is intentionally unusable to show a "dressing room" background. Basically, expanding the screens to use all possible space will enable me to add at least a few more rows to the selection info screen (see attached post for more info). None of the skins I've seen have implemented anything like it and have these 3D renders in these screens - are these sections simply not editable, or is there a way to do so? Thanks!
  10. With the Football Manager 2021 now out, this thread will contain important information regarding Skinning and Graphics in FM2021. The various guides and content will be slowly updated where possible during the Football Manager 2021. Though for the moment most of the information from the past few versions should still apply to FM21 unless otherwise stated. Also check out the other pinned threads as they will contain more specific details in regards to Skinning with Football Manager 2021. Whilst if you need technical help then first check out the dedicated FAQ's provided by Sega and SI, if you have encountered a bug then please raise the issue in the Bugs Forum so it can be looked it and if you have any comments or suggestions about the changes made in FM21 then the best place to discuss them is in the General Discussion Forum as these are the most likely places that someone from Sports Interactive will see your comment. 11. Football Manager 2021 - Skinning, Modding and Graphics Knowledge Base Welcome to the latest version of the Skinning, Modding & Graphics Knowledge Base. This thread should over time contain links to the most important and useful threads in this subforum, however what I have also been doing over the last few years is tagging any interesting or informative threads with a skinning tag, so whilst I try and build up the content in this thread if you cannot see the answer to your question here or you are just starting out skinning then have a browse through the forum and open up any of the threads with a skinning tag which should give you some useful if random bits of skinning knowledge, whilst clicking on a tag should take you to any other threads that have the same tag so that should give you a starting set of threads to have a look through. Like in the past this thread will be split into several parts; How To Create Graphics Skinning Guides Links To Useful Threads Links To Useful Threads from Previous Versions If you want the FM2019 thread then see this thread
