  1. Football Manager 2019 Base Skins NOTE: If you are using Football Manager Touch 2019 then please see the second post. As with most recent Football Managers for you to make certain changes in Football Manager 2019 you need to create a new skin. Thankfully over the last few years some more stuff has been moved out of the skins folder so you only really need the Base skin if you are wanting to edit the skin graphics, fonts or colours. If you want to edit the match graphics or the most of the panel xml files you no longer need really need the base skins. So to make things easier for people I've put up some base skins that are identical to the default skins that come with the game, so you can add new files/graphics to these without messing up the original skins, and anything that isn't located in these new skin folders will be taken from the default locations within the game. For Football Manager 2019 you have three skins to choose from the Default skin, the Light skin and the Dark skin. Base2019 Skin - This is the Default skin and is based on the Default Football Manager Skin. Base2019 Dark Skin - This is the Dark Base Skin and is based on the Football Manager Dark Skin. Base2019 Light Skin - This is the Light Base Skin and is based on the Football Manager Light Skin. Change Log v1.1 21:56 GMT 1st November 2018 - Updated all three to the release version. Includes changes to various colours across each of the skins and updates to the font files for the Dark and Default Skins. Install Instructions: When you extract the file you have downloaded you should have one folder (with a name starting base19...) and a readme.txt file. Now copy the folder into your skins folder within your User Data Location, by default this is: For Windows:C:\Users\[Your Windows Username]\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019\ For Mac: /Users/[Your Mac Username]/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2019/ For Linux: /home/documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2019/ If done right your skins folder should look something like this: And inside for example the base19_light folder you should have the following folders: When you load the game up if the skin cache is off any skins in the skins folder should appear in the skins menu like the below image: NOTE: FMT skins will only appear when you are playing the FMT mode and normal skins will only appear when playing the normal mode. If the skin cache is on you'll need to turn it off, exit the Preferences menu and re-enter it and any new skins should appear, if not tick 'Always Reload Skin on Confirm' and change skins, click confirm and go back in and your skin should appear. How To Stop the Blurring Effect when Processing FM2016 introduced a new feature where when the main screen isn't the focus of the screen it blurs out, however if you don't like this effect it is simple enough to disable it, to do this simply browse to the following location within the Base Skin you are using: \graphics\boxes\dialog\background Inside will be a paper.xml file open that and locate this line: <boolean id="blurred" value="true"/> and change it to read: <boolean id="blurred" value="false"/> How To enable Background Changes Whilst FM19 directly supports background changes this year the default graphics aren't transparent enough to see the background in most places so you'll also need to download and apply this mod to the Base Skin you are using: To Edit the Fonts The font settings are now controlled by the various files located inside the fonts folder. For the base skins I have included all the default font files to save you having to go look for them. To edit the fonts its just a case of changing the various variables declared in the xml files, whilst to change the actual font you copy the font you want to use to the font folder and then update the font names in the xml files to match your new font. To Edit the Font Colours The colour settings for each skin are controlled by the settings.xml file located inside the settings folder. For the base skins I have copied in the relevant coding for you to change the various colours used by the skin – you just need to open the settings.xml file and locate the relevant line for the colour setting you wish to change – the colour names and comments should explain what the majority of the colours control. The colours are declared in RGB values, that range from 0-255 where Red=255 Green=255 Blue=255 is white and Red=0 Green=0 Blue=0 is black. To locate the RGB value of a colour you want to use you can either use a image editing program to obtain the RGB Value of the colour or type rgb values into google and it will bring up several websites that list the RGB Values for various colours. Note that whilst this file contains most of the text colour settings, some items are hard-coded, others are determined by the individual xml files and some others are set by the xml files in the fonts folder. Also if you have the Skin Cache on you can change some of the colours directly through the game from the Preferences -> Interface-> Skin Colours screen How to Recolour the Game Colours Like with the font colours these are now controlled via the files found in the settings folder, and are changed in the same way as the font colours. For the base skins I have copied in the relevant coding for you to change the various colours used by the skin – you just need to open the settings.xml file and locate the relevant line for the colour setting you wish to change – the colour names and comments should explain what the majority of the colours control. For your changes to take affect If you have made any changes to the base skins (colours, fonts, graphics) to get your changes to show you’ll need to go into the Preferences -> Interface Menu and untick ‘Use caching to decrease page loading times’ if it is ticked and then tick ‘Reload skin when confirming changes in Preferences’ then click confirm and your changes should be applied, if you have previously ticked and unticked the required boxes a 'Reload Skin' button should appear in the bottom left corner, if this button appears you can click that if the Confirm Button is greyed out. 2. Football Manager 2019 - Match Screen Mods Welcome to my Match Screen Mods for Football Manager 2019 I have reworked them this year rolling them into one mod whilst offering more flexibility and some more user friendly customization. The mod this year incorporates the main Match In Between Highlights mod with the various Match Review Screens. The IBH panel and its Review panel have both been expanded out to eight panels this year, with each of them fully re-sizable in game by grabbing the divider between the panels and dragging it until you get the size you want, you can also drag the divider to the corner of the screen to fully hide a panel if you don't need all of them. For the Half-Time and Full-Time Review Panels these are largely the same as last year with one selectable panel on the left and two on the right. I have also added in some alternative views for the Overview, Match Stats and Formation which can now be selected like the other views via the drop-down menus in the top right corner, I've also re-worked the Player Rating panels these now use the Full Panel but with the Basic view added in and you can change the views by select the drop-down box on the left of those panels. And like last year there is only the need for one version of the mod regardless of which skin or even which mode of FM you are using, though some of the information or screens might not show up in the Touch Mode as it doesn't support the same data as the full mode. And as always outside of the match screen this mod make no changes, so it should be compatible with any skin that hasn't already altered these panels. Screenshots Installation Instructions For Full Mode Version: If you are using the default skins: - Place the panels folder into your User Data Location which by default is: Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019\ If you are using a custom skin: - Place the panels folder inside the folder for the skin you are using, by default this will be: Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019\skins\<skin_name>\ Then from the Preferences -> Interface Menu turn off the skin cache and reload your skin for the changes to be loaded. For Touch Mode Version: After unzipping place the panels folder inside the folder for the skin you are using, by default this will be: Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019 Touch\skins\<skin_name>\ If you are using one of the default Touch Skins then you will need to download and switch to one of the Base Touch Skins. Then from the Preferences -> Interface Menu turn off the skin cache and reload your skin for the changes to be loaded. To change the item shown in each panel just select the drop down arrow in the top right hand corner of each panel and select the view you want. So if you want to change the Left Panel from the Overview to the Match Stats view, just select Match Stats in the dropdown menu. You can also adjust the width of the columns in game by dragging the dividing line left/right, unfortunately you cannot adjust the height split of the right panel as the game wouldn't store the status. If you want to change the appearance of the content that appears in the individual menus then you will need to follow the instructions in the Advanced Instructions section below. Any problems let me know I gave it a quick run through several games and didn't see any issues, also I haven't tested it on Touch Mode but it looks like Touch Mode uses the same files so it should work. Advanced Instructions These are largely the same as last year so if you used last years version you should know what to do. How to Enable Different Views How to Adjust the Size of the Panels How to Change Kit/Logo & Text Sizes on Overview View FM19 MATCH SCREEN MODS DOWNLOAD PAGE Change Log v1.1 14: 36 3rd November 2018 - Removed custom columns option from Player Ratings as left by mistake. - Switch IBH Both Team Stats to use the correct incidents file on top. ---Redistribution Terms You are free to post this content to your website provided: 1. 3. This year I've decided to get more involved with skinning, but I'm having some issues. I didn't get to moving panels around yet but there are a couple of things that I haven't figured out how to change yet. First thing, hovering over buttons. The color I'm using is much brighter but it seems like opacity is lowered, couldn't find how to change that. Tried with alpha="255" but that doesn't really change it. Also here : https://gyazo.com/e2f242d523ec448e83ac75572a30b3b8 I know you can edit graphics, but I'd avoid that if possible since it looks like it's really tedious. Second, I need to change font color on selected item in inbox. Third, there's still some purple left! In tactics creator, when you select In transition, In possession, Out of possession it's in purple, also trying to change that. Fourth, player names box, I'm trying to change color of that too but couldn't find how. Fifth, top of tactics creator. It's still in green and I don't know how to change that. And sixth, nothing major but I'd like to change color of that switch in scouting menu (list or cards view)
  4. Someone can help me change check and ball icon to white ?
  5. I have found a lovely skin I intend to use, though I wish to change one of the colours. On the bar below, I wish to change the orange colour to white, but have absolutely no idea how to do it. I am completely clueless about this so any help would be appreciated. I have managed to change the capital letters on this skin by using the same principle as the base skin though! Please note, this skin is not my work - I found it on another site.
  6. Not sure if this is in the right forum but is there a way of removing the training schedule from the processing bar between days?
  7. Football Manager 2019 - How To Add a Manager Picture Like with the last few versions Football Manager 2019 no longer allows you to add a picture to your manager instead encouraging you to use the Facegen system. However last years mod still works so at the moment you can add a manager picture with a bit of work though it may be disabled again in a patch and still has the same limitations as last year. Thanks to some work from Cyrius50 at www.manager-online.fr it is now possible to add a Manager Picture when adding your Manager to the game, however it isn't possible to apply the picture to existing profiles nor to change the image so make sure you are happy with it before applying it. When you have installed the mod on the Add Manager panel select either Edit Profile or New Profile, then on the Profile screen you should see a new option above the Social Networks as in the below picture: Clicking on 'Choose Picture' should take you to the file select popup, from here browse to the location on your hard drive where your image is selected and select the image, in the below example I have selected an image of the FM19 logo imposed on a red version of the default face. Once that is done fill in the rest of your profile as normal and continue through the profile settings and once you are into the game your image should now be showing: Again this method has it's limitations: - You cannot assign a picture to an existing manager, if you want an existing manager to have a picture you would need to retire that manager and create a new one to take over but you won't be able to keep any of your in-game progress. - It isn't possible to change the image after the profile has been created so make sure you are happy with the image before you get too far into your game. Whilst you can now edit your manager in game this feature doesn't allow you to change the profile picture nor will editing the face here override the set picture. - Also be aware this feature is unsupported and might be removed in a patch, also I have only tested to see if the image will appear I have no idea if it will cause any issues further into the game, so it is used at your own risk. Installation Instructions - After extracting the zip file you should have a panels folder and a readme. - If you are using the default skins then you can just place the panels folder directly into your User Data Location which by default will be: Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019\ If done right the contents of your panels\human folder which is located in the above location should look like this: - If you are using a custom skin then it is best placed inside the folder for the skin you are using, which by default should be: Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019\skins\<skin_name>\ Where <skin_name> is the name of the folder for the skin you are using. If it wants to overwrite any files then you are best checking the manual instructions in the below post / linked pages below as it means the skin you are using has already customized the file used so you'll need to modify the file yourself. - Next load up the game and if the skin cache is on turn it off and reload your skin, then follow the above steps to add your picture. (Once you have confirmed the Add Picture box has appeared you can turn the skin cache back on). Also note that I haven't had chance to test it on the Touch Mode, however the coding doesn't really look much different so this file should work with Touch Mode, however with that you will need to install it within the files for a custom skin. 8. anyone know what this panel is or how i can change the colors in it, is that controllable by color settings file?
  9. Football Manager 2019 - Skinning, Modding and Graphics Knowledge Base Welcome to the latest version of the Skinning, Modding & Graphics Knowledge Base. This thread should over time contain links to the most important and useful threads in this subforum, however what I have also been doing over the last few years is tagging any interesting or informative threads with a skinning tag, so whilst I try and build up the content in this thread if you cannot see the answer to your question here or you are just starting out skinning then have a browse through the forum and open up any of the threads with a skinning tag which should give you some useful if random bits of skinning knowledge. Like in the past this thread will be split into several parts; How To Create Football Manager Graphics Guides Football Manager 2019 Skinning Guides Links to Useful Threads for Football Manager 2019 Links to Useful Threads from Previous Versions Whilst I am in the process of checking and updating the various guides you can find some useful information for FM19 in the below threads; If you have any comments or suggestions on the layout or spot a useful thread that has been missed please use the suggestions thread here If you want the FM2018 thread then see this thread.
  10. Football Manager 2019 Guide - How To Extract the Default Game Files. This is a simplified version of my main extraction guide, this version is for people who are only wanting to make a couple of changes to the game files (and have likely been directed here from one of my other posts) rather than make a full skin as in this case you don't need the full details from the other guide, though if you are making a skin I'd recommend reading that one instead: Football Manager 2018 Skinning Guide Part 1 - How to Extract Default Files & Understanding File Structure First you need to ensure you have a couple of things ready before you start; - A Fully up-to-date version of the Football Manager version you are using. - The Football Manager Resource Archiver. This is obtained via Steam from the Library -> Tools menu and just scroll down until you find the version that corresponds to the version of FM you are using (The safest option is to open the one for that years version of the game as older ones generally cannot open files from later versions). - A Text Editor - Notepad was fine but it seems to have problems with the formatting of some of the xml files in FM18 so if you don't want to download a program you should be able to use Wordpad instead, however I'd recommend a program like Notepad++ or a web editor such as Kompozer - these colour the code and have line numbers that make it easier to edit the larger xml files. How to Extract the fmf files 1. The first thing to do is to create a new folder somewhere on your computer that has plenty of hard drive space and is in an easy location to find, (but do not create this folder inside either the Steam folders or your User Data Location for Football Manager as they may cause conflicts) as this is where you'll be extracting the game files to before you work on them. From now on I will refer to this folder you created as your Working folder. 2. Next we need to locate the actual fmf files. The easiest way to do this is to locate your version of Football Manager in your Steam Library then right click on it and go to Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files and a new window will open at your Football Manager install folder. Which should be inside your Steam\steamapps\common\ folder with the exact location of your Steam folder depending on your OS and where you installed Steam. 3. Now depending on the version of Football Manager you are using the files will be located in slightly different sub-folders; FM2018 and later - If you open the data folder you'll see some fmf files, however these are mainly for the 3D stuff and the files you'll want most of the time are located in the game folder. Though at some point you'll likely want to extract the sitoolkit file as this contains the skin graphics. FM2017 and earlier - The files you want are just in the data folder. For the most part if you have been directed to this guide then you should know what file you are after and should have been told which fmf file it is located in, if you aren't sure then check back on the link that sent you here. 4. Now load up the Resource Archiver Tool and in the bottom right corner you'll notice some options the one you want to click is the Browse Archive option as in this case we only want a couple of files.5. When you click Browse you should get a standard file browser pop-up, in this you need to browse to the location of where your fmf files are located which we found in step #3 above. As an example we are going to extract the sidebar menu table xml file which is found inside the panels/generic folder which is located within the panels fmf file.6. So now in the Resource Tool browse to the panels fmf file, you'll notice that folders have a folder icon whilst the fmf files have a text doc icon and once you have found the right file click Load. (Remember that the fmf files are located in either the data or data\game folder of where you installed FM).7. This will now open up a list of the contents of the fmf file and in this case we are already inside the panels folder and what we are looking for is the generic folder locate that folder and click on it to open it. (Either from the list on the left or the main panel)8. Now we need to locate the xml file we are after which in this case is the sidebar menu table file so scroll down until you find the file and then click on it to select it.9. Next click on the Extract Selected... button and this will open up another pop-up. This is where we want to extract the file to so in this case browse to where you put your Working folder 10. If extracting a single file then the Resource Tool will place just this file into your Working folder, so in this case you will need to remember the exact file path it came from. Again if you are reading this you should be following another thread gives you the location to place the extracted file. 11. Once you have located the file(s) you want, copy them and now you need to paste them into your User Data Location, however the exact location will depend on a couple of things. Custom Skins If you are using a custom skin then it is best to place the files inside the folder for that skin and the file will need to go inside the same sub-folders within your skin. So in this case the file came from the panels\generic folder so you'll need to place it inside that location for your skin which should look something like this: \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019\skins\<SKIN_NAME>\panels\generic\ The file was extracted from either skins or sitoolkit fmf files If the file came from either of these locations then for the modified file to be read you need to place it in the same location for the skin you are using, and if you are using the default game skins you'll need to download and switch over to the relevant base skin. For example the default font files are extracted from the sitoolkit fmf file and then found in the sitoolkit\skins\fm-widgets\fonts folder. So they would need to be copied into the following location for your edits to be read by the game: \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2019\skins\<SKIN_NAME>\fonts\ If you are using a default skin and the file didn't come from either the skins or sitoolkit fmf files. In this case you don't need to bother with a custom skin and can just place the folders for the files directly into your User Data Location, so in the above case you'd place the sidebar menu table xml file in the following location: \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2018\panels\generic\ And in each case if the folders don't exist you'll just need to create them. 12. Now you have the file in the correct place it is just a case of editing it (and again those instructions should generally be in the post that sent you here) and whilst these instructions may look daunting on first glance the whole process shouldn't take any time at all. 13. If you want to get rid of your changes you just need to delete the file and the game will revert back to using the default files. 14. To get your changes to show in game (or to refresh after deleting the file) load up the game and go into the Preferences -> Interface menu and untick Use Caching to decrease page loading times and tick Reload Skin when confirming changes in Preferences then select Confirm and your changes should now display. (Once the changes are loaded and you aren't planning on making any more you can turn the skin cache back on and untick the Always Reload button.) Note if that doesn't work then you may need to exit and restart the game for some changes to be read by the game. ---Redistribution Terms You are free to post this content to your website provided: 1.
