  1. Hello everyone,I'm looking at in-game advertising (IGAs) in FM as part of a research project and have a quick survey which can be filled out. I would really appreciate if anyone could spare their time to complete it. It should take around 5-10 minutes to complete and you need to be aged 18-40. Attached is an information sheet and a link to the survey.Thank you,Links: Survey Information Sheet
  2. Good afternoon. I played online against 2 colleagues in fm 2019, the owner of save decided to get my coach to download my tactics and use it ... How was it possible for him to take over my coach while I had my password? He did not know my password. I think it's unfair for the owner of save to be able to take control of the other coaches so that he can see tactics, training of others ... and so others are at a disadvantage. Best regards
  3. In the footballing world, Pre Season is one of the most important & chaotic periods in a clubs season …. Training camps, enduring transfer saga’s, board meetings and of course the lucrative friendlies to please the commercial partners. In Football Manager, I cant help but feel that Pre Season is no more than a few clicks of the "Continue" button, with the odd player transfer thrown in (should you have enough money) and maybe a week long training camp to Spain which has no real effect on the game itself. Would it be at all possible for the Pre Season madness of the real world to be simulated in the Pre Season world of Football Manager?? Below are some of the ideas I feel would help blend the two worlds together. 1) MID SEASON BOARD MEETINGS TO DISCUSS UPCOMING SUMMER: Board suggest friendlies based on commercial requirements. (We would like to play against either Club A, Club B or Club C in the USA as part of our commercial obligations) Board suggest Training Camp locations based on commercial requirements. (Please select which two weeks you would like to spend in China as a result of our commercial obligations) Pre Season tournaments with added income (We have been invited to play in the X Cup in Australia) *The results of these meetings to be kept in place even if the manager is removed from their position. (a similar situation happened when LVG was unhappy with Man United's pre seasons plans that were put in place by the previous manager/commercial requirements) 2) PRE SEASON INTERVIEWS: Interviews whilst on Training Camps or Pre Season Tours – reflect on upcoming season or latest in-game transfer/football news. 3) TRANSFER IMPROVEMENTS: Clubs transfer activity is often impacted by other clubs Pre Season plans. (Club A has to wait for Club B to return from tour in China before continuing negotiations) Players arriving for medicals! In today's world, players jetting off around the world for a Pre Season/Mid Season medical is big news. (Player X arrives for Club A medical) or (Player X jets in for Club A medical) Would love to hear your thoughts, responses and/or feedback on these suggestions. Regards.
  4. I think the game should have an oppurtunity to be an assistant manager. It would be a great way to the newer players to learn the game and make a step up to the managerial position when they full that the time is right
  5. Every time I go to load it up this happends... ive never had this before ever, not sure what to do :/
  6. It would be really great if the Editor had support for saving filters. I find that I reuse a lot of the same filters (same as the game... go figure) and so it would save some time and effort if we could have those templates handy to pull up from previous sessions.
  7. Hi guys, I was wondering if anybody else has been frustrated with this years individual training, I've been. You can't make a player work on the majority of his attributes, and some of them are important like heading, jump, etc. I like how you can work on various attributes but at the same time most of them are left out. I don't know if they'll change that in a next patch but it's really frustrating me at the moment.

  9. So, a week ago I was playing fm16 as Bharat FC (Indian National Football League). In my team, there was one thing I noticed most was that stats didn't really matter! For example- A ball playing defender with defend duty has stats like - Tackling-8, Marking-6 Anticipation-10 and other attributes even worse plays better than another defender with same role and duty and attributes like Tackling-11 Marking-13 Anticipation-15 and other attrubutes also better than the above. Similarly, in Forward, two deep lying forwards play together, one has stats like Finishing-4 Dribbling-5 Acceleration-11 Stamina-10 Pace-14 and the other has stats like Finishing-9 Dribbling-6 Acceleration-10 Pace-12 and former has scored around 30 goals this season whereas the latterhas scored just 8. Notice that in both the cases the age of the players are same
  10. So basically love the game. But half way through the first season. Can't buy loan, get free agents. Can't do contacts either. I have redownloaded and downloaded it again about 3 times.
  11. Just watched the Alpha play through on YouTube. Thanks to the team for sharing it with us, was great to see. Thought it would be good to put my thoughts/observations in a thread for people to comment on and critique. Brief summary of things I noticed: Positives The new tactics system is an easy "guide". The styles of football could be replicated in previous versions, if the right instructions were used. Having said that, I do like it more now. I did not see any of the transitions in play - maybe I will be proved wrong when I see more comprehensive highlights of the match engine. Perfect for the new player, but has lots of depth for those FM old-timers. Training looks interesting - more emphasis now on dynamics and specific attribute growth etc. Probably the biggest and best change. VAR - its fun, and will be good to see where it applies. Induction - not relevant to me, but good for new players. Bundesliga licence - don't usually play Bundesliga, but I may do it this time around. Licensing is always good for FM. Constructive Criticisms UI - I wish they would focus less on things like colours and just make it easier to navigate. I have never had an issue with the new UI (since the sidebar) or colours. This version will have far too many hidden pages/too much info. I think the game needs a big cull of unnecessary pages, graphs, etc. I don't care for features like different colours for ratings in game. In my opinion, it just seems like wasted time where SI labour could be used on bigger and more landmark features. Match Engine - I play on 2D Classic, but the 3D looks virtually the same. I would rather have fixed goalkeepers and player animations etc than ball physics. Stadium upgrades are welcomed. I would love to one day play with the 3D engine all the time, but it does not feel real enough for me at the moment. Dynamics - I really did not feel a difference between '17 and '18 when it came to squad dynamics. Everything that affected dynamics did not change (conferences, feedback, mentoring), so the experience was not translated to the player. All I do in FM 18 is see it on a new screen and use the same responses/team talks when there is an issue. Are player promises fixed? Press conferences - all the same except for faces and background, people will get bored and leave to the assistant. Before match plans - I think many players will leave to the assistant. No real changes except a reskin, although it does look simpler in parts. Pre-match/half time talks - they all generate the same responses as FM 18. Players will learn what and when to say something. Transfers - no mention whatsoever of AI transfer dealings and fees etc. has the finances section been changed in anyway? All in all, with the exception of tactics and training, SI seem to be re-skinning and fixing issues that were created by the previous iterations of FM, rather than revolutionising the match engine, which has to be the next focus IMO. They listened, and have fixed the glaring gaps that FM 18 has. It may seem as though I listed more negatives, but I will be buying the game nevertheless. Let me know your thoughts.
  12. Every time I open up FM 18 my cursor starts veering upwards and to the left when I am not even touching it. It is only when Fm18 is on. thanks for you help.
  13. When you continue the game, you get stats and results from fixtures while waiting for the game to process, which is a great feature. However, I get stats and results from leagues I don’t care about. Is there a way to personalise the stats and results shown to me on that screen? (FM17). Thanks.
  14. for some reasone my FM does not start up, the only way to start it up is buy uninstalling fm and steam. can someone help me pleaseeeee thank you
  15. My game crashes whilst trying to advance on the last day of the season (end of season 6, 2022) and I get an error message saying that there's a crash dump error. I have tried to: Delete Cache Delete Preferences Reverify Cache as it recommends on this website, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or not but I would like to be able to advance my game.
  16. Hi guys. As mentioned in the title, when I go to my club - history - then records, the only records I have are from this season. At the beginning of a new season last seasons stats delete and just show the current one. Anyone help? I'm finding it really annoying haha! This is my first save on the new FM.
  17. Hi. This is the problem: - When i select windows mode windowed in preferences screen it turns black. -The preferences screen is still there because if I move the mouse changes the pointer. -I have updated the drivers of my graphics card and the problem continues. -In FM 2016 i can select windows mode windowed in preferences screen and it works correctly. Thanks.
  18. After under about an hour of just browsing on fm (pre season i have yet to play a match) the game crashes and creates a crash dump. FM 2018 v18.2.2.1055984 (2018.02.09 12.54.04).dmp Help would be appreciated. ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, still same crash happens.
Gracias y espero haberme hecho entender. Good morning people wanted to know if there is any way Candidatear to a country for the World is made in that country or Olympic Games , or America Cup , Euro Cup , etc , youth World Cups. That is possible at the time being as Manager of any selection and power and through an option , elergirte to be a candidate for any of the above mentioned? Either that is done randomly ? Thanks and hope I made my point .
  20. Hi there, i'm not sure if this is a right sub-forum for the topic but I have problem with starting online game (Football Manager 2017). Everything was fine just few weeks ago and than it started bugging. Sometimes my friend and me make a success (start a game) but mostly we can't start it. Does anyone know how to fix this? Game: Football manager 2017 OS (both): Microsoft Windows 10
  21. So I launched FM17 for not too long ago, and randomly, a window popped up, saying something weird. My first thought was that I shouldn't worry, no biggie. Then I loaded my save and "Football Manager 2017 has stopped working" popped up. Once again I didn't believe it was a biggie. So I restarted the game, and the first popup window appeared again. I studied the window closer. This is what it said: "XML parsing error!: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 36602 of error offset invalid - corrupted buffer?" Once again I loaded my save, and once again, after a while, the previous window reappeared saying something like "Football Manager 2017 has stopped working". I started to believe that the first popup window, had something to with the second one. So looked the problem up on the web. But I couldn't find anything. I found things related to it though, where people had problem with: "XML parsing error!: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 1 of error offset invalid - corrupted buffer?" I did what the "saver" told the "costumer" to do, it didn't work however. So don't mix up these two, 'cause they are different issues. So finally, the question is obviously, do someone know how I solve this? Thanks!
  22. FM 2018 keeps crashing after launch with different errors: 1. Football manager 2018 18.2.1f1051982 (staging) has stopped working 2. BSOD with error Video Scheduler Internal Error. 3. FM 2018 does a crash dump. DxDiag.txt FM 2018 v18.2.1.1051982 (2017.12.23 01.53.01).dmp
  23. Quick play mode - kind of like kick off in FIFA, where you can load up as any team and play a one off game against any team. This is because sometimes I don't have time for more than 1 game that day and would rather play a casual game where I can experiment with different tactics and teams, rather than loading up my current save which has a massively important next game. This could be available offline or online. Decision to shake or not shake a managers hand - Doesn't have to be too much more than something that comes up saying "Manchester United manager walks over to you, he wishes to shake your hand..." Then two options, of "Shake hand or refuse". If they added that before and after each game it would be excellent, especially if you have an ongoing rivalry with a manager and the commentary team and the press mention the lack of hand shake. They could also wrote into the game that a manager decides not to come over to you to shake your hand after the end of the game after being unhappy with either yourself or your team and instead walks straight down the tunnel you have respond to it in the post match press conference. Contest decision with fourth official - A button which pops up every time you're in a highlight and a decision (whether it would be a freekick, corner, yellow card, etc) is given against your team, and if clicked means your manager has a word with the fourth official about that decision. You click the button and get an option of the emotion you wish to express when speaking to the official 'Aggressive, assertive, calm, passionate, etc' and it if you choose to talk aggressively to the official too many times it could lead to you being sent off or retrospective action, etc. In and out of possession tactics - On the normal tactics page, there could be a little tab for in and out of possession, where you can edit each one depending on what you want and it does not effect the other one (Obviously within reason, you cant have your ST in possession playing up front but out of possession playing CB, maybe limit it to being able to move one positions either way - ST to CAM, LWB to LB, RW to RM, etc). Take Tottenham for example - When in possession, Dier drops in between the CB's to dictate the play, however when out of possession he moves back into midfield to help make a solid 2 banks of 4. In possession, Walker and Rose play very high up the pitch, almost as wingers but out of possession they move back to RB and LB. Pre transfer window meeting with board and scouts - 2 weeks before the transfer window opens you are called into a meeting with the board and your scouting team to discuss your transfer targets for the season. You could have the choice of specifically naming players you plan to target or you could just say "I need a player from England who is Under 21 for less than £14m" or you could choose a position and say what type of squad role the type of player you are looking for would be. In this meeting you would be told your transfer budget, etc and from there you can discuss whether you have the necessary transfer funds and wages, you could assign specific scouting tasks to scouts and ask the chairman to try and sign a specific player for you during the window. This would mean you would have a more organised transfer window, with everyone who plays a part in it, knowing what you wish to get out of the window. Improved player/chairman/press dialogue - You should have to pick which emotion you wish to express first, lets say I click calm, then 4 options are available which are all calm but if I pick aggressive then there are 4 different options available which would reflect my aggressive approach to the conversation. I have never really understood aggressively telling a player he's been in good form lately! Player interviews - Whether it be pre match, post match, random interview throughout the season or interviews when away on international duty, there should be more interviews with players. Even if it be light hearted ones such as "Harry Kane reveals Hugo Lloris to be the funniest member in the Tottenham team" or more important ones such as "Harry Kane reveals plans to play in Spain in the future". And then you could interact with the player if necessary (tell him to watch his future conduct in interviews, etc) and be questioned by the media on the interview. More agent interaction - Just look at Yaya's agent! They could come out and do interviews after a bid is rejected for them, saying their client doesn't want to stay or that they're happy to stay, or that they want a new deal and then you'd be asked to respond to the agent by the media. In my staff meetings I always get staff telling me "Erik Lamela is interested in signing a new contract" yet if I do nothing there is no consequences, maybe if you don't offer the player a deal after a long period of time or speak to them about how they will get one in the future then the agent goes to the media saying the player would love to sign a new deal, putting pressure on you to do it. New contract interviews - Right now all you get when a player signs a new contract is a message in your inbox then one question in the next pre match press conference, that should remain, however you should be able to call a press conference specifically about the players new contract where you are only asked questions about that, by the clubs social media team and the player gives an interview too, just like in real life. Weekly/Monthly training meetings - You should have a meeting with your staff at the start of every week or month (you decide in the staff responsibilities page) about what each day will specifically include, for the upcoming week/month (whatever you choose). You could have 5 slots throughout the day and be able to go as deep as assigning each category (goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, strikers) to do specific things each day as well as whole squad actions. E.g. Monday (day after game) will be rest day for the whole squad all day. Tuesday Goalkeepers will work on their handling, defenders will work on their heading, midfielders will work on their passing and strikers on their finishing for the first 4 slots but the final slot on Tuesdays training will be a whole squad match. Wednesday the first slot will be gym work, then slot 2, 3 and 4 will be the whole team working on tactics for the upcoming game and then slot 5, finish with a whole squad match. Thursday slot 1 and 2 are gym work, 3 and 4 fitness and then 5 is empty, giving the players an early leave. Friday you leave slots 1 and 2 empty but 3 is whole team working on their passes, 4 is tactics and 5 is working on the teams fitness because you only want a light training before your next game. This enables you to specifically make sure your team is working on what they need to improve on whilst making sure they get the necessary rest to be fit for the next game. At the start of the training meetings there should be the report of how training went for the period of time you organised last time (either last week or last month); who has been working the hardest, who needs to work harder, who has been been staying after training putting in the extra work, how the group reacted to each day (they may prefer the whole team days rather than the days where they are apart), and whether the staff believe aqueduct rest time was given or whether there was not enough time focused on the tactics or fitness, etc. When the first team come back from their holidays after the summer, there should be a pre season training meeting where you organise all of the stuff mentioned above for the whole of pre season, so your team is ready for the start of the season, then a week before the season starts should be the start of the weekly/monthly meetings. Pre season individual player meetings - At the start of the pre season you could sit down with each individual player and tell them how you felt their performances were last season, how they can improve, what their squad role is likely to be this season and where their future lies (transfer list, loan, release), it would give players a chance to say "I wasn't happy I only featured 3 times in the league last season, I need more playing time otherwise I may have to think about leaving." Then you can discuss whether its best they leave or not, if so whether it be on loan or transfer list or what they have to do to get in the team. A young player may come back from young with an 8.20 average rating and you can tell him that he is part of your plans this year so you wont be loaning him out or you could tell him he will only be loaned out if he is guaranteed a Key Player squad role at that team!
  24. Hey guys, sorry I know I'm not really in the right place for this but fancied a bit of nostalgia play of fm2007 on the old 360 (tragic I know) and when I started my 2nd season I encountered a problem. The transfer budget they gave me is ridiculously low, I'm playing with man Utd and have been given a pathetic £2.3 mil to spend...is this because of ffp and is there a way to resolve this other than selling players (I already have a pretty thin first team squad as it is and don't want to go selling anyone and not be left with money to replacements) cheers guys
