  1. Like many FM players I hoard every single high potential player I can find. I can't help myself, but the downside is the huge amount of work you have to put in at the beginning of every season loaning the players out, getting teams to pay their wages and loan fees, and then making sure that these players are going to playing a good amount, at the correct level, and training in good facilities. Doing all this manually is just a pain, and makes me hiring a director of football essentially pointless. The game should have staff that actually make your life easier. So my suggestion is an updated development/loan list. Where you can set out the parameters for what loans are acceptable. Wage requirements, loan fee requirements (what should be offered and then minimum acceptable), the level of the league, and play time. Too often will you put a player on the development list or list for loan and your director of football will loan him out as a rotational player with the loan team paying none of his wage and no loan fee. And most of the time, the loan is automatically accepted with no option to make it so that you have to sign off on the loan before it goes through, to prevent terrible deals. Whilst if you manually take over the loaning process you can get teams to pay wages, large loan fees and find teams willing to play them as first team players. This system could be implemented like this: Place player on development/loan list Wage: 100-50% Monthly loan fee: playing: 25-10%, not playing : 50-10% League level: Coach report recommended level or equivalent / top ten league. Training facilities: Minimum good training facilities. Play time: Minimum First team player. All these option could be set as default in you assistant tab in staff responsibilities, so that you don't have to do it for each individual player. I know you already have some loan options in that tab, but the director of football often does not follow those guidelines, in this situation he would have no choice, though there could be a situation where the DOF will tell you than he has not been able to loan out a player because your demands are unreasonable. There should also be an option to reject a loan that the DOF has negotiated if you decide it is not good enough. As Well as a stat, hidden or not, which effects the DOF negotiating ability, better negotiation means better deals. loan fees are also unrealistically small, in the beginning of the game you will see real loans with teams playing 700k+ monthly loan fees, look at for instance some chelsea players, Zouma, Kenedy, Batshuayi, yet in the game you will never get a loan fee for more than 300K pounds a week no matter how good a player is. Bringing in young players and loaning them out for profit is absolutely done in real life, and very possible in the game as well, the only thing I am suggesting is making it less of a pain, grinding through hundreds of terrible offers for players over a transfer window is not increasing anyones enjoyment if the game.
  2. Hi how about a statistics for top 100 positioned players by number of appearances and goals per League/Cups/Teams? How about a statistics for top 100 positioned players by number of appearances and goals per human player? Like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Serie_A_players Thanks.
  3. Been told that were was good development and it turns out that most attributes have gone down. I dunno if this is a bug as he is particularly young and so any regular prem action which I've given him could understate his lack of improvement in training. He's constantly had good training input in terms of training number of 8+ since i've bought him and integrated him as part of the team.
  4. Please fix the Development of Player skills. As in 2018 mobile. It Takes too Long for Young players. Teamwork and technic are developing hardly. It doesn’t make fun that way.
  5. Hi all, For a long time, I've wanted to make Jamaica a consistent world cup participant on football manager. In the past I've achieved this by improving the domestic league and improving the clubs, youth recruitment and facilities through the editor, so that a few years down the line we get pretty decent regens (one of them becoming a key player at Barcelona xD). However, in FM19 I'd like to do this without the use of the editor (though, I will have to use it to add the Jamaican domestic league as a playable league). My plan is to manage 2/3 clubs in Jamaica, and improve the youth facilities, recruitment and coaching so that we get a good number of decent regens coming through each year. I suppose my question is; has anybody got experience of doing something similar (for example the classic San Marino challenge!) and if you have, how long did it take to see a "return on investment"? Any tips/stories would be appreciated!! Peace
  6. A dutchman in Sweden. I've decided I should write about my attempt to get back into FM18 again, this time with a very unusual team pick for me, and a new country that I've never really managed at. Dennis Averkamp, 38, takes over the vacant managerial spot in IK Sätra, an amateur team playing at the fifth tier of Swedish football. They aren't exactly a leading team. But so far I've managed to raise the Junior Coaching (Now: Fairly Basic) And Youth Recruitment (Basic). The club also aims to turn Semi-Pro after I requested it successfully. Here's the first intake: Pretty happy with it. Svensson looks insane for this level. Wow! Personalities sucks though, most of them anyway. I'll keep you posted with a season review after we're done with it, stay tuned!
  7. Diaspora football clubs always fascinated me and that's the reason why I started my first career update here with one of them. My choice wasn't that easy but the fact that the club was based in England made the challenge of bringing it from bottom to top even more exciting for me. A bit of history... According to Wikipedia... Football Club Romania is a football club based in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, England. The club are currently members of the Essex Senior League and groundshare at Cheshunt's Theobalds Lane. The club was established in August 2006 by Ion Vintilă. They started in Sunday league football, initially playing in the Sunday London Weekend League. After winning their division at the first attempt, the club switched to Saturday football, joining the Essex Business Houses League in 2008. In 2010 they joined Division One (Central and East) of the Middlesex County League. After finishing as runners-up in their first season in the division, they were promoted to the Premier Division. In 2011–12 the club finished as runners-up in the Premier Division, but were unable to be promoted due to ground grading regulations. In 2012–13 the club entered the FA Vase for the first time, beating Tring Athletic in the first qualifying round, before losing 7–0 at Hoddesdon Town in the next round. In the same season the club finished second in the Premier Division for a second successive season and were promoted to the Essex Senior League after a groundsharing agreement with Cheshunt allowed them to meet the ground grading regulations. The season also saw them win the Middlesex County League's Open Cup with a 3–1 win over Bratham in the final. In 2014–15 the club entered the FA Cup for the first time, reaching the second qualifying round, where they lost to Sutton United. Our (shared) ground... According to Wikipedia... The club originally played on Hackney Marshes, before moving to the Low Hall Recreation Ground in Walthamstow when they moved up to the Essex Business Houses League. When the club joined the Middlesex County League they began playing at Leyton Sports Centre. In 2012 the club began groundsharing at the Cheshunt Stadium. OK, but what about the game ? 🤔 Ingame, the club looks like this... Needless to say, a lot of work lies ahead us... 😮 Fine, but who are you ? 🤔 I'll be playing as Nikos Pappas, a young Greek-Cypriot (born in Salonica, Greece) student and big football fan who decided to help this club arise in power and popularity. Who's Pappas ? More will follow, with a presentation of the strong and weak points of the team, its players, as well as our transfer activity, both on and outside the pitch and the pre-season friendly matches. 😉
  8. I am trying a career in the Swedish lower divisions. The club's structure is very bad. My doubt is whether it is more useful to keep the youth contract until the deadline or to go as soon as possible to the part-time contract (which must be renewed year by year). Beyond the economic considerations I am interested in knowing what is the best solution to ensure the best development of young players.
  9. As the topic says, Brexit has arrived and new rules has been applied in England. I havent had the worst Brexit, nor the best I suppose. Is there any chance now to develop young foreign talents? I have bought Rodrygo, he is 18 years old. Is there any other choice than to loan him out, and hope for the best?
  10. So iv'e been thinking for a while, as have many other more senior members of the community, that the AIs development of younger players is absolutely dreadful. But there seems to be an obvious fix? It seems player development is hugely linked to playing time. But almost too much? Sure playing time is a significant factor in developing as a young player. Getting senior games is vital. But if the AI isnt built to give younger players more of a go then surely you just tweak the %s that are assigned to training ground development, tutoring development and the other more passive forms of development. Hate seeing so many young studs in the game never developed by there AI clubs meaning unless I pitch in and buy them they never seem to reach their potential.
  11. Instead of developing a different FM a year, why doesn't SI creates the "perfect" game? Major improvements and stuff put in the game all in once! To compensate the money loss the game could be sold at a slightly higher price, with a database update for a new season and a one-year online pass that can be purchased in the store. Everyone's happy. No money loss for SI and a perfect game for managers, until in 4-5 years "Football Manager 2" comes out with other vital improvements.
  12. I'm playing as Dunfermline in the Scottish Championship, I'm in a good position (4th) and have good coaches for that level (3 stars minimum) but there's one problem... none of my players are developing! It's February and I think I've only had one month since the start of the season where my coach has informed me that there has been an impressive performance. Most of my first teamers are under 22, they all have at least 4 star potential but some of their stats have actually decreased. One of my players is playing exceptionally well, he has 16 assists and 10 goals from the wing and an average rating of 7.45 and his stats haven't improved either! Is there a reason why this is happening?
  13. I have bought a few players who are 23/24, and have high potential abilities but have not quite reached them. Is there a limit to how much a player's current ability (CA) can increase once they reach 24? Thanks, Henry
  14. Since I am not an experienced FMer, i am wondering what attributes are harder to improve and which ones are easier to improve? Is there is guidline or even better kind of a ranking? I know f.e. bravery is almost impossible to improve, determenation mainly via tutoring, i guess flair is hard to improve, workrate doesnt grow much,... - My concern is that I am struggeling to find good ballplaying Central Defender-regens. Many of them tend to have bad jumping reach- and I heard that attribut wont develop that much, is that true?* Also most CBs seem to have very poor vision/other attributes which are important for BPD. Are there good BPD in the future? *I have a promising player, 15 years old, 178cm, jumping reach 5, heading 16 (that combo would never happen IRL). Will his good heading ability be wasted?
  15. I absolutley hate it when nearly all attributes of a player decrease. Is there something you can do against it in general? Or do you just have to wait until a player of yours get picked and then you have to enjoy the "nice feature"? 0,2 Points down is a lot, when you consider that nearly all of the attributes of a player gets affected. Two cases that are standing out: 1. Youth player, lot of potential, enough gametime, enough resting, loses 0,2 in many areas. When I warn him to increase his training level, he says he already does the maximum. Is he lying? 2. More Serious case: Boatengs Attribute values keep dropping for month now. Passing from 15,0 to 14,4; Stanima from 14,0 to 13,4; First Touch from 13,0 to 12,4, most other attributes down 0,2. I warned him three times now to increase his training level (first time was four month ago), each time he was okay with it and said that he will prove he deserves a chance in the first team. On the pitch I have no complaints about him. What can I do? Does high professionalism prevent such development?
  16. Hello guys,I've always loved to develop young kids and to turn them into world class players, so I just made a new video with some important tips in my opinion to develop your wonderkids on FM 17!It's a quick tutorial with some very important tips if you want your kids to reach their maximum potencial! Quick Tutorial about how to develop your Wonderkids! Hope you guys enjoy it
  17. I've seen quite a few conflicting arguments on this point. Are you better to loan out all your youth prospects to lower league clubs for first team experience, or keep them all in the youth team/ reserves to play together with the good training facilities and also have access to mentoring/individual training etc? i see the argument for both points but personally think keeping them at the club would be better. Just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts before I did this as I don't want to screw up their development.
  18. Hi everyone, I'd like to monitor history of attributes of changes of each player in the squad. For example, let say we have a 16 years old wonderkid. 10 years later, I'd like to see his previous profiles, i.e. when he is 18, 20, 22, 25 to make conclusion about player development. Maybe when he became 21, we would be able to make conclusion that "this player has not improved as much as I expected for 5 years" and change our minds. This will also let us to learn more about the player development process, how aging affects it, how the physical building affects it, etc. Cheers.
  19. Currently, we can see a player's stats (goals, assists etc) from previous seasons in their history page. I want to be able to see what a player's attributes were each previous season. For example, my 30 year old superstar who currently has great attributes... I want to be able to view in his player history what his attributes were at 25, 21, 17. I see this being of benefit in two ways: 1) helping with scouting... If I can see what attributes my current older star players had when they were younger, I can look out for young players with similar attributes in the transfer market. 2) player development... I want to be able to see exactly how my players are developing year on year. If I can see their current attributes and compare them to their attributes for the previous year, or 2 years ago or 5 years, whatever you may wish, then I can monitor and improve player development more closely and efficiently. Interested to hear any thoughts on this.
  20. I finally decided to buy the newest version of FM, after have been playing FM 14 for the last couple of years. However, I am experiencing something strange... I started a career with Arsenal and some players, who are still relatively young e.g. the OX (23) and Aaron Ramsey (25), are getting -1 in all their abilities, despite playing a lot of games. I'm only 4 months in the 16/17 season so I don't understand why this is happening. I have never experienced this in FM 14. Don't think its due to my training because my lead coaches range from 4 - 5 stars and the coach workloads range from light - average. Training intensity ranges from medium - high, depending on the match frequency. The strange thing for me is that the players who are decreasing all get -1 in all abilities: technical, mental and physical. But when I look at players who are injured for serveral months like Mertesacker and Gabriel they don't decrease in their abilities. Could this be a bug or am I doing something wrong. I'm very tempted to download the ingame editor and "fix" it. Thanks in advance
  21. As we are all aware that the tendency of a player's development varies from each other. Some players' develop physically while some others develop technically. Similarly, aging does not affect all players affect in the same way. Some players' physical abilities prominently drop while others (almost) not. For example, Cristiano Ronaldo is physically as good as almost his prime time despite his age. But Rooney is not like him. So how can we determine the tendency of a player for both development & aging? Thanks in advance for your contribution.
  22. So I have quite a few players in my team who, on their day, can be incredible. However consistency is the key to winning titles. If I want to improve a players consistency how would I go about that? Through coaching? Game time?
