Hello everyone! Recently I saw some questions on the forum about loaning out young players in relation to their development. The key points I noted from the answers on these questions and research from other sources are the following: Train youngsters until they are 18 with your own schedules, coaches at your own club. Training is most important until the age of 18. Use mentoring (and general squad personality) to improve their personality (and determination). When youngsters turn 18, they need playing time at an appropriate level. If you can't play an 18+ youngster in your first team, loan them out to a club where they will play him regularly (squad status in loan contract and compare to current player in that position) Make sure the club you loan him out to plays at the appropriate level and has a good manager (man management, working with youngsters) and good training facilities. If I missed something or misinterpreted, please let me know. Now I have a question regarding choosing players for outgoing loans. I understand the above 'rules'/'guidelines', but what I struggle with is determining what the 'appropriate level' is for some of my players. The question is: is the coach report (by my best judge, the assistant manager) accurate enough to use for determining appropriate playing level? ----------------------------------------------------------------- Bit of background: currently I am managing Ajax and I want to use an holistic approach. So I want to keep an eye out for each and every player at my club and focus on their development to further my goals with the club. I take a look at every position and list everyone who can play there, throughout the ranks (Ajax 1, Jong Ajax, U19s). I want my 'conveyor belt' so to speak to work in the best way possible: Youngster who need Eredivisie experience (top level) I will (try to) give playing time in my first team. If I have too many of those in one position: I will loan them out. Youngsters who are playing on a level below that (Eerste Divisie) will get playing time in Jong Ajax (U23s) because they actually play in that league like some other top club U23s, and they even won the title last season. So they will get good playing time there and be trained by my own coaches as well. Youngsters who have no notes in their coach report on current ability I'll assume are too young for either Eredivisie or Eerste Divisie level, so they will stay in the U19s and train their ***** off ----------------------------------------------------------------- Take a look at the following list if you will: Those are all my strikers, and the coach reports highlights I noted down. Under their name is the current ability the coach indicates. Their age is behind their names. Now I can understand the levels of Dolberg, Huntelaar, Lincoln. I picked Lincoln myself and Dolberg/Huntelaar are obviously great strikers and it's logical to me they're Eredivisie level. My youngsters however, confuse me. Brobbey and Hansen for instance both have 2 stars current ability. They are both 17, Hansen just had his birthday and Brobbey is close to 18. In my spreadsheet I saw that Brobbey is better mentally and also better in almost every other aspect attribute wise. The only thing Hansen has over Brobbey is his acceleration and agility. Resulting in a much higher mobility rating in my table. But my assistant manager thinks Hansen should play first team football and Brobbey should play in the reserves as appropriate playing level. To make a long question short: how accurate is the assistant managers opinion of current ability and can I use it to determine appropriate playing level for my youngsters? If not, what do you use to determine appropriate playing level? On a separate, but related note.. these are my left inside forwards and I think I've got a big (luxury) problem there: All of those bastards are Eredivisie quality according to my assistant manager.. Now I have my own ideas regarding the quality of their attributes, so I will pick my favorites for first team playing time. But I will have to loan the rest out, right?! Or else they might not get the right playing time? Or can I just stall them in Jong Ajax (U23s), because I suspect they are just barely first team material and they will still develop there? Sorry for the somewhat long and fluffy post. I tried to keep it together but my brain just works like this Btw if you wonder about the spreadsheet.. I talk about it and show my thoughts creating it in another post: https://community.sigames.com/topic/498876-first-try-at-club-dna-ajaxs-tips-model/ Thanks in advance for any responses! Dizzy
Correct me if I am mistaken, from my knowledge the star rating of players is relative or compared to the players that are currently playing in the league you’re managing, for example: the average CA of players playing in the premier league is 150, so anyone with a CA of 150 will have 3 stars, 160 will have 3.5 stars, 170+ will have 4 stars and so on (this is probably inaccurate but let it be for example’s sake). If there was an influx of players with a CA of 165+ and the average CA of players in the league increased, would players that were rated as “First Team” players but are now “Back Up” or “Rotation” be more willing to drop down a division? Would this also be the case for players abroad that you’re looking to bring in? Context: I created a database for South Africa and upped the Youth Rating for the nation considerably, my dilemma is that the new intakes have CA that is already good enough to consider them as Back Ups or Rotation options for their first teams and a few seasons in the top division clubs and national team are decked out with u21 players as Key Players and youth players refuse to be loaned out to any lower league club in the nation because they are “too good” for them. Now I thought I would be able to counter this problem by using an in-game editor and orchestrating the transfer market for local top division clubs clubs and bring in relatively high CA players but I want to know if this will have a knock-on effect on the lower divisions or will my efforts be in vain?
