Hey all, i was wondering if there is any way to prevent crosses. I tested a lot with Barcelona (in 4-1-2-2-1), but my striker always had the same amount of headers (4-6 per game) and shots (6-8 per game). I put him as every possible role, but always with the same result. I also tried Attacking Style 'Narrow' and 'Center', played with Inside Forw. and Advanced Playm. on the wings, put the wingers into 'winger-striker' position. I tried with and without 'Work-inot-Box', 'Overlap' and so on. So i tried pretty much everything to focus on slowly playing in the center of the field. I changed the player-role of my midfielders but this also doesn´t change anything. I also tried without winger, just 'wingbacks' and 'inside-fullbacks' with the same result My question is, is there any way to prevent crosses?
Is there any way to see how many times your team scored from crosses, how many were headers,... and could you see this for a player in specific too how many times he scored with his head. It is possible that I missed out on something but I can't seem to find it
I've played through half a season and tested different styles. It seems to me that most of the assists this year come from crosses, just like FM18. Whether it is central players drifting wide to put a ball in, an inside forward/winger cross, or a full back, every time. That and set pieces really seem to be working for me. I'd say 70-80% of assists so far come from crosses. I have seen screenshots from other players suggesting the same thing. I'd like to hear other players feedback before posting/moving to bugs.
I am testing out some new formations and tactics. I usually use 4 defender formations and find I can defend against most opponents equally well. But now that I am trying more formations with 3 at the back, I am realizing that my opponents cross me to death. They attempt 30 or more crosses per game and complete >15% of them. So my question to you is how have you tried to mitigate this crossing weakness when using 3 at the back? My current formation: 3-5-2 / Counter / Flexible / Retain Possession / Work Ball Into Box / Play Out Of Defence SK(d) CD(x) - CD(c) - CD(x) CWB(s) - CWB(s) BBM(s) - RPM(S) EG(A) DLF(s) - AF(a) I am considering dropping my wingbacks back to make it a true 5-3-2, but that feels a bit negative. I have tried playing my two central midfielders in the DM strata, but that doesn't produce a noticeable change. I am aiming for ~55% possession, greater efficiency with shots/scoring chances, and conceding about 1 goal per game or less. My central defenders are all excellent, with jumping, heading, marking, tackling, and positioning of 15+, and my goalkeeper is excellent in the air.
