  1. I wish there was the possibility of telling a players to pass the ball to the centre rather than head it inside during corners. This would allow for more creativity and a greater sense of tactical control during the match. Additionally I believe corner routines should have a familiarity factor as tactics do.

Hello, i would like to be able to have more freedom, and creativity with corners and free kicks, the way it is now, Its TO restrictive, and its a thing, that as been unchanged for years, for example, if i want to put a good mid range with a good shot stats, outside the box, so he can look for an opportunity to shot at long rage, why not put "Look for opportunities to shot" or something, i hope i explained myself well, and i hope you guys and the developers sympathise with my idea. Ty all, plz give feedback, because its an area that asnt been changed, and its a huge part of football, corners and free kicks can decise games and finals. give more options and freedom.
  3. Almost always in attacking corners since the last update; the attacking players who are in a more advanced position than the opposition defence get called offside if they touch the ball. This happens mostly if defending team does not have anyone marking the posts. There is an example in the PKM attached of an attacking corner for Cardiff City where Bruno Ecuele Manga is offside directly from a corner at 31:35. There is also an example at 54:10 of a header scored by Sean Morrison direct from a long throw which is given offside. PLEASE FIX THIS. My defensive corner setup is this: Now, this has worked fine in Chile, but after I got a job in Colombia, the teams have started to use this attacking combination against me at every corner: (Opponent is grey, I am yellow) Number 8 is lurking quite far from the penalty area near the corner taker. He receives the ball and has free space to sprint into the penalty area, creating a dangerous situation every time. My number 11 cannot intervene, and my three players on the front post (27, 14 and 24) are not quick enough to intercept him. Now, I can put a player in the red circle, but other than that, I have no option to set up such that I can counter the number 8. Is this really correct? Can anything be done? Thanks.
  5. I notice in the match engine that most of the highlights on extended are corners. I get well over 15 on most of the matches. It just seems that the weighting of highlights or the number of corners themselves are out of balance. It has reached a point where if my player is going wide and is covered by a defender it's almost certainly going to result in a corner.
  6. Never noticed this before but a change of team due to injuries meant my set-pieces were a bit off, so went into Tactics and Corners to sort it out. As you can see from the first picture, my M L Jordan Clarke is still on the pitch, neither sent-off or injured, yet he appears nowhere on either my left or right sided corner tactics? This been spotted by anyone else?
  7. Is there anyway to defend against corners when my team is abysmal at jumping and heading. No budget for buying anyone, I've done well stopping other teams from crossing but it seems every corner they get is either a goal or a great opportunity. Ive messed with a few different routines but nothing seems to work. Anyone run into this yet??
  8. The set piece creator, is really a slog to work through especially with the multiple types of free kick set pieces. Further the set pieces do not intelligently carry over when a formation is modified or substitutions are made. (I moved a player from CM to DM, and the whole set piece gets discarded.). Other than that i have noticed a mysterious tendency to end up with two people marking the posts, and i suspect duplication of other roles.(probably because a subbed on player , has a different role from the subbed off one.) I would like to propose an alternate way of setting up set piece tactics. This is two fold. 1. Player set piece roles - I should be able to just set the preferred roles for a player in different set pieces , this a priority ordered list. (and importantly is not tied to the formation and tactic) for eg. For a tall slow player with good marking For defensive corners-> Man Mark Tall player, Man Mark Small Player, Go Back For an playmaker in Attacking corners -> Offer short option, lurk outside box, stay back. 2. When creating a set peice, I should just be able to specify the set piece roles. This is the same as the current UI, except i would not specify the specific player.i.e. i would say 1 player disrupt wall and not DL disrupt wall. (this too is not tied to the formation and tactic, though i could assign a specific set piece tactic to a specific formation/tactic.) For eg. Attacking Free Kick indirect 2 players go forward. 2 stand with taker 1 disrupt wall At the time of the set piece in match, the players would arrange themselves according to their preferred roles and the players needed for the set piece tactic. (Perhaps aided by decisions attribute and the leadership of the team leaders/communication of the GK.) This approach would let the set pieces work with multiple formations, and allow setup of multiple set-pieces not tied to the tactic. This could be even be expanded to analytics and stats specific to each set piece setup.

  11. Loving this new version but there's a recurring bug that also appeared in the 2016 ios version (don't know about 2017 as I don't have that). That is that the player pauses when taking a corner, while everything else is still moving and his players are running around waiting for the ball, normally for about 20 seconds but sometimes longer - the worst is about a minute. It's not to do with time wasting as I don't have that selected and it works with all tactics. It doesn't happen in every match but every 2 or 3 and sometimes right throughout that match. Also I'm using an ipad pro now and it also happened on my previous ipad, so I don't think it's a hardware issue. Can you look at this is in your next updates please as it is incredibly annoying when your 1-1 Morecambe team are trying to rescue a league cup game against the mighty Rochdale in the last 10 seconds
  12. Ok, so I've got my match tactics sorted. I win a lot but I also win a lot of corners but I've never really been bothered to set up some proper corner tactics. I was wondering if there is any genius/wannabe Antonio Conte/real Antonio Conte who'd like to give me some ideas for how I could set up my attacking corners. Preferably tried and tested corner routines. Thank You!!!
  13. At set pieces and in open play it would be nice to be able to design training ground routines to try and use in the game. Its always interesting in a real game when a team has obviously used some thought to come up with a clever free kick routine, especially when it pays off.
  14. Hey guys was just watching Klopp on MNF and realised the key problem thats been bugging me. My team concedes a lot of goals from set pieces so I switch to a zonal marking system with 2 men on the posts. However, I often lose out to outswinging or deep cross balls that land between the penalty spot and the 6 yard line. I think there should be an option to deal with inswinging and outswinging corners separately (thus giving two footed players a real advantage if they are set piece takers perhaps) rather than left or right. Also Klopp mentioned how he uses 3 defenders on the 6 yard line doing zonal but 3 more players - 2 standing higher and one hybrid near post and zonal for the sort of fast near post flick. He also mentioned he sets the line to be higher for outswingers and deeper for inswingers. Same should apply for freekicks. On a side note, FM uses corner defending routine for FK's that are on the sides of the box. This leads to me having 2 guys on the post when I dont really want to and would prefer using an offside based high line. Can the two not be clumped together.
  15. I've been playing your game a few years now and I am still NONPLUSSED by the Game Engine! Why is it even in the 2016 version, that every time I make a substitution, the opposition score? -(This goes back to the 2012 version!); then if I don't make a sub one of my key players gets injured?? Why is it that the referee calls offside when there can be up to 4 players (defenders) in front of the the attacker? before the ball is played? Eh??? Why is it that the only team that seems to score from corners are the opposition?? In the 2012 version it was my team and the others scoring from corners, now, half way through the season, my team have not scored one!! but the opposition have, what!! (despite tinkering etc)?? I really enjoy your game, BUT, I have coached this wonderful game in real life for 30+ years, and cannot work out your game engine at all, as it is, in some parts, unrealistic to the actual game as played. Might I suggest that you review this, and if not already, get someone on board who has coached/played the game at a top level as this part of it is REALLY frustrating.

  17. I am confused by set piece instructions for a few different reasons. When defending, how strong is the natural response your team has to opposition tactics if there are no instructions set, and, conversely, how static are instructions that are given? For example, if I set my defensive routine to have a short option marking player and the opposition doesn't use a short option is that player going to dutifully stand out there for no reason, or smartly change tactics? And if I set no routine and the opposition do use a short option how will I know for sure if a player of mine will react and go out there to mark even if the implemented instructions have him standing in the box? It is for these reasons I've always been scared to set any defensive routines and just blindly hope my team knows how to appropriately respond to different scenarios as they come up. Similarly I am also confused about the player role instructions in general. If I set the set piece taker hierarchy to have Player A (my center mid) take corners but my corner routine instructs the left mid to take them, which overrides which? This often comes up if I sub on a player who is ranked higher than the current players on the pitch, or if I move the first choice kicker to a new position during the match. Why are these sorted differently - should we maybe assign corner instructions by player and not position as well? It's all very confusing, and makes me feel like trying to make good instructions only opens myself up to more failure by giving specific but fallible and static instructions that would be avoided with simply letting the team do whatever is appropriate at the time beyond me designating the set piece taker. Do people go in tactics and completely revamp their set piece instructions every time they make a substitution, or is there just a way to say "the tallest guy on the pitch goes here" and let them sort that out as it happens? Some clarity and/or guidance on these issues would be much appreciated!
