  1. Okay, because English isn't my main language, I'll be brief. I've already invested a lot of work but nowhere found anything helpful. Everybody just wants to get rid of the Brexit, I would like to see the hard way (I think there are at most 5 foreign players). So I desperately searched the editor and found two points. but while the tooltips in the first screen are wrong and bugged and I don't understand what the fields are doing I can't get any further. Later I found some fixture changes in the additional helpers (Screen2), but they don't seem to concern the first English league. I hope somebody can help me or at least fix some of the issues. Edit: if someone wants to have alook you can find the agreement change here: Load up the editor Add nation rules Select add lower divisions and cups to existing structure Choose England Convert to advanced rules Click the England dropdown Select agreement change
  2. I'm playing FM Touch 2019 as Celtic. Prior to Britain leaving the EU, I got this message I'm now past this date (25th June 2019) and I'm attempting to sign players, however there's a disparity between my understanding and what I see in my scout reports. How work permits are awarded My understand of the new work permit rules is If I want to sign a player for first team football - I need to pay him at least £8k p/w. If I want to sign a player and loan him out / play him in reserve matches - he must be Under 23 and paid a minimum of £3k p/w. Or... to put it another way - I can sign anyone, from any country on at least £8k p/w and they will get a work permit for first team football. Is this understanding correct? Scout Advice on Work Permits In spite of the new rule (unfortunately no image to attach at this time) my scout reports still advise "Work Permit Unlikely" for non UK/Ireland players. I would have anticipated that this advice, based on the new rule around wages, be null and void. I.e. they could advise "you must pay £8k p/w to obtain a work permit for this player". Why is the advice on work permits still given? Does this affect the Scout Recommendation value (the number from 0-100) that they give? Delay to obtain work permit Finally - I note that when a non UK/Ireland player signs a Work Permit is applied for them. I would have imagined it to be automatic, but can accept if it's a simple delay to reflect a real-world scenario of paperwork being generated. Why is there a delay - and can the work permit be rejected if the contract is equal to or above the minimum wage requirements?
  3. Hi I've had a look at the advanced rules editor and found the Brexit page. It looks fairly simple to force Brexit, but how would I force a hard brexit? A limit of 17 foreign players is still a bit 'soft' for me? I believe last season it went to a limit of 3? How can I force this in the editor? Cheers
  4. After some time looking for wonderkids i found an australian CM that can be a key player from day one in the championship, since he doesnt have any caps i loaned him to austria, i got hard brexit so i need him to get 30% caps (Australia is 10th after reaching semi-finals in the world cup) but the "recent international matches" part is what bugs me...i never signed someone this way (with no chance for work permit) so i dont really know how many games does he needs, i cant find it in anywhere, he did got 3 caps already, but i dont want to be a third of the year waiting to do the petition again
  5. I have several youngsters signed from within the EU before Brexit and they are not progressing onto their full time deals. from the rules displayed in game i was under the impression they would be able to sign there pre-agreed full time contracts but wp rules would come in for extensions.
  6. Hi all, I'm currently in the 6th season as Cambridge. Now I've just noticed that I can not buy European based players at all!! I am aware of the Brexit rule, however this time it's particularly strict. I tried to sign joao mouthinio, for instance (111 Portuguese caps), but couldn't get a wp. I've played several saves on fm17 and never had it this bad. Its very restrictive as I can only buy UK based players. Has anybody else had this?
  7. As the topic says, Brexit has arrived and new rules has been applied in England. I havent had the worst Brexit, nor the best I suppose. Is there any chance now to develop young foreign talents? I have bought Rodrygo, he is 18 years old. Is there any other choice than to loan him out, and hope for the best?
  8. Does anyone know how I can turn off the work permit system, or edit the leagues in a way so they're not needed? I love finding young, talented players from Spain and Italy and I've just been promoted twice with Blackpool. Now, post-Brexit, I can't sign ANYONE from outside England. I'm not actually joking, even free transfers go to an appeal and out of 20+ contracts I've offered I'm simply unable to sign anyone I target. It's taken the fun out of the save for me and left me HAVING to shop in England for my players. I must have got one of the worst outcomes but please, is there anything I can do to rescue this save?
  9. In FM18 it would be another game breaker for me not to be easily able to select the Brexit outcome at the start of my game. This is not intended to start a debate on whether it should have been included in fm17, but surely even this modes most staunch supporters, including the games creators, would have to conclude that whilst many customers don't mind, there are plenty for whom it has been the difference between enjoying, or even purchasing the game, or not. You will sell more games and have a higher customer satisfaction rate by allowing customers to choose the Brexit outcome in their game. I do not want to spend time and money purchasing and editing the database to work around this short sighted error in fm17. If some customers like it, then they can leave it as random and be happy, as they are now. For those that have not bought or enjoyed the current game because of it, they will then be happy too. It seems like a simple enough decision to maximise profits by including such a feature in fm18. I am disappointed it wasn't included as free dlc content as a reaction to the negative backlash in fm17, and a quick search online will illustrate it cost SI money. Hiding behind arguments based around a desire for realism is not productive, as when customers do not play or purchase the game because of it surely that is a problem that must be addressed? Without wishing to be banned or have this thread locked, I must also state that for many, an admission of error on SI's part for their misjudgement on this topic in fm17 would also go a long way to rebuilding some of the customer relations damage that has been inflicted in the past several months.
  10. Hi, I'm new here and to football manager. I only bought FM17 when it was heavily discounted to learn before 18 comes out. I'm sure my problem must've been discussed before but I can not find it anywhere. So I'm with Barnet, I signed a free agent at the start of my second season who is Spanish but had played at 1 english club before. I signed him on a 2 year deal. I played out that season and he created the second most assists for my team. I went into my third season and it come up listing all the players whose contracts run out in 12 months so I proceeded to offer them new deals. He accepted a new deal with an increase of what he was on before. But I assume brexit must've gone through at the same time. So the day after he signed a new contract it come up saying his work permit was rejected even though he was at the club before brexit went through, due to the amount of games played? (Likewise, a side problem is that I have an affiliation with Charlton, went to loan a CB from them who was Dutch and it said his work permit was rejected even though he's already at Charlton with no WP flag next to his name?) So now I have a player on what I would call a high wage for my team, on a long term contract (he's only 22 or 23 so at the time thought this was a good idea), who I could sell for a fair amount, for my team, and it would not be cost effective to mutually end the contract. But when I offer to clubs there is no interest, so I assume it isn't offering him to the spanish clubs? Is there a way to do this? Thanks for your help guys.
  11. Managing Swindon Town in the Championship (2019/20) and I've got a young player who's been out on loan getting a permit for a season. This season I've offered him out to loan and other English teams have made offers, so I'm confused about whether he needs a permit or not? The work permit bubble still shows up on the 'Player Status' section and the 'Apply for Work Permit' option is still available under the 'Contract' tab but other English teams can offer to loan him, which they wouldn't be doing if he wasn't eligible for them. Also, the work permit system in the UK has been scrapped according to this Brexit email Any ideas?
  12. I'm sorry if this is something you're already looking at. I noticed that from the moment a hard Brexit is put into place (and I haven't had a game where Scotland or NI got to remain in the EU, which is strange in itself), I need FA approval for both transfers to AND from the UK. E.g. when I play in Belgium, I'll need to apply for work visas for my players, which almost always fail since I'm trying to buy young talents. Older players are the same though, every appeal fails. Surely this can't be your vision for the future of transfers? It's not because the UK lost it that Belgium (or Ireland, Portugal or Spain where I tried it) wouldn't welcome the lads
  13. "It has been announced that United Kingdom will be leaving the European Union at the end of the season. As part of the negotiations it has been agreed that there will be no changes to the current work permit system and no new restrictions on European Union players." I think this is what is called "soft brexit" right? Probably this is the easiest. Sure it is, what else could it be. Would it say "No work permit is required"? Not possible i guess. Only this scenario is called soft brexit or any other soft brexit scenarios? These brexit variations are a little bit confusing. As a note, i reloaded 10 times from the previous day to see if it changes but it doesn't. I got the same scenario in the same date everytime. This shows it is true that the scenario had been set in the beginning of the save.
  14. I am playing a journeyman save as an American manager in England. It is now 2019 and Brexit didn't happen as far as I can tell. I just signed a 18 year old Croatian Striker as York City in League2. He is on Backup wages and NEVER even played for them internationally even as an under 21 and didn't need a Work Permit. Also have a Dutch U21 Star in my U23's no Work Permit either (signed him in 2018). Is Brexit random? or is my game bugged?
  15. Apparently we've had a hard Brexit in my save as I can no longer sign players with expiring contracts. I don't remember getting a notification about Brexit, but it's entirely possible that I overlooked it. Is there any way to check what the current status of Brexit and the Bosman ruling are?
  16. I like to play FM by taking a small team up through the English leagues, finding talented young EU players and developing them then selling at a profit. Hard brexit has made this impossible. Really poor design choice not letting us choose our brexit scenario IMO. We don't know how it will work IRL and I think it's highly unlikely that there won't be some exception for footballers, even if we do end up having a hard brexit. I'm 4 seasons into my game so I have already invested a lot time in it, and really don't want to restart and pray for a soft brexit. I could just end up getting unlucky and having a hard brexit again. Is there any way to remove this using a save game editor? Obviously being an Football Manager Touch save game I can't use the normal editor. Is there any other way I can do this? I am playing on iPad but I don't mind buying the PC version of FMT and using cross save if it means I don't need to restart the whole game.I know I could just use the remove work permits unlockable but I really don't want an unfair advantage over the AI managers. It would lessen the sense of achievement when I win the Premier League / Champions League etc. with my team. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. So I've just had Brexit's effect take place in my game. I was wondering if a) anyone else has had this event happen and b) what sort of rules have come from this change? So, from the next season squad registration will now include a 16 foreign player limit. However EU players already playing in the Premier League will be given dispensation so that they don't count as foreign.
  18. I'm into my fourth season with Leeds and have just had a work permit turned down for a Norwegian player so I'm guessing that Brexit has happened and its been pretty rough. I never saw anything about this on my news feed though admitedly i go holiday for the international breaks and so may well ahve missed it. My question is: is there any way of finding out about the new rules or how hard the Brexit was? I've searched my news feed for 'brexit' but am unable to find any messages therein. Thanks
  19. So i finally understand the Work Permits rule..... so i thought! I bought Luis Henrique from Brazil for my Aston Villa save and confirmed it even though the work permit was declined. I loaned him out to FC Augsberg in Germany for a season where he scored 10 goals in 16 games and had no CAPS for Brazil. Within the season he was on loan i appealed for a work permit twice and failed but on the third try it got granted!!! When i was appealing for his work permit i never thought it was going to be granted as he had no CAPS for his country and hadn't gained EU citizenship. Is this a glitch on the save or can a work permit be granted for other reasons?? Obviously not complaining ...... just curious!
  20. Here is what I got in my inbox. First none soft Brexit in six saves. So does this mean my players (playing in Wales) can not be signed via the Bosman away, or I can't sign new players via the Bosman in? Its not very clear. Or does it mean the rule just no longer exists for anyone anymore? Also shouldn't there be new league rules about foreign players? The season has started and the league rules have not changed. I figured there would be something added about foreign players. You know something like X foreign players in the squad like other leagues have. Unless this only applies to work permits. Which I find pretty boring in that case. And everyone's overreaction to it being included in the game very silly. I was looking forward to league rule changes. And I am supper disappointed they didn't happen.
  21. Looks like the only way to know if player is able to gain UK work permit is trying to sign him. If I remember correctly it was an opinion in previous FM's scout reports about chances to gain work permit. But in FM2017 I'm unable to find any kind of this in scout reports or player search filters. Is there any other way? Thank you
  22. Wonder if anyone can help me! I'm in my 3rd season as Aston Villa boss and I stupidly bought Luis Henrique from Botafogo in the July/August transfer window and without a work permit as i thought i could appeal again after 120 something days of it being appealed and rejected. I thought that whilst he wouldn't be able to play i should send him on loan to a European team which eventually was FC Augsburg in Germany. He is only on loan for 1 year but with the Brazilian International side being so strong i am not sure he will get the game time. How long will i need to loan him out for in Europe before he can be accepted for a work permit in England? Even though i like the realism, this is a pain and it doesn't seem to be much of a problem for teams in real life. would appreciate the help.
