  1. I think it would be a good idea if the board sent you an email expressing their concerns over the wage budget, allowing you to make adjustments before they start reducing the percentage you receive from player sales. for example, I had a transfer budget of £6M and a wage budget of £20k, I offered a pre-contract to a player worth £27k a week, meaning that my budget showed a wage of -£7k and immediately my board reduced the percentage by 30%, not a major issue but a minor annoyance
  2. I think it would be interesting if the board would allow you to use some of your transfer funds to fund a request. I can think of two ways this could be implemented. One way would be as part of a dialogue in the path of the board rejecting a request. They (or you) could offer to use some or all of your transfer budget to fund it (thereby reducing your transfer budget, if accepted). Another way to accomplish this is to have an option under Board Requests for Alternate Use of Transfer Funds. It could be a series of items in a menu (Upgrade Youth Facility - $X; Improve Youth Recruiting - $Y). Maybe similar in design to the scouting packages (greyed out if you don't have enough transfer budget, for instance). The amounts in the menu could be the full cost of the upgrade, or the cost the board wants to help defray the total cost. This would make you further manage your clubs finances and force a tradeoff between that big transfer or an improvement to a training facility, for instance.
  3. Does anyone know why there is no board expectations in league competition? Is it error or bug? Even i won the league it didnt show up. And this screenshot is the 3rd seasons, in first seasons it was got board expectation then i won the league and promote, 2nd seasons it doesnt show up i think should draw the seasons start but also didnt show up. Even i won the league again in 2nd seasons the confidence total is 60% and competition confidence only 50%( it from cup competition ). Please help

  5. So I just noticed that Man United has the two following philosophies together: "Sign young players for the first team" and "High profile signings". The other two doesn't really matter now. The thing is when I try to add "sign young players for the first team" in say Man City that have the "High profile signings" philosophy i cannot do it unless I remove the latter one. What am I missing here ? Cheers
  6. Six months into my first season on FM19 and the board request and request progress bar have disappeared, meaning I can no longer make requests. Is there a way to fix this?
  7. Hi When playing as Liverpool (Or any club who uses their recruitment structure for that matter) why don't targets or signings have to be agreed by the transfers committee or taken from the pool of players scouted and shortlisted as a committee?
  8. I'm getting really fed up now as I want to be able to continue my save for as long as possible but the transfer system seems completely shot! A bit of context : My club career Rich £222m transfer budget remaining 2.5m wage budget remaining I'm trying to sign some new decent defenders and it's impossible. I get the bug that means I have no option to make an offer for some players. If I do get to make an offer, I often cant up my bid in a bidding war as there is no link. And if I do get to offer a contract, my board will only give me 100k or so to offer despite me being very rich and have been praised by the board 90% for keeping tight control of wages (which in itself is quite boring) This is so annoying.
  9. When I visit the Board menu and select Match Confidence and Transfer Activity from the drop down menu, I don't get the feedback from the fans or the board on those things. So, as you can see from screenshots, I have played half of the season, yet there is no reaction on the match performance from the board or the fans. Also, I've been active on the transfer market, yet again, no reaction from the board or the fans.

I was hoping for some more insight, I received an inbox telling me the club had announced plans to build a new stadium, the picture had blueprints and all the information like Capacity, Roof, Under-soil Heating, surface, Training facilities, youth facilities, and about 2 or 3 more all with ":TBC" next to it all. That was two seasons ago. I haven't received any further news on it, nor can I ask my board requesting expansion or have a new build. I'm at Chelsea in 2030/2031 season. The stadium was "rebuilt" in 2001 and it's maxed out over the years with two expansions for 60,000 capacity. Thanks for reading, is there anyone that can give me some clarification on this and when I will be likely to receive more info from the board on this.
  12. Hello, Football Manager 2016. I started with FC United of Manchester for the first year in Vanarama National League North, and after many difficulties I managed to go to the Vanarama National League through the process of playoffs. And this is when my problems began. My finances seem great, with zero debts, a healthy trade balance and only one government loan that my team pays regularly. My budget is 570.000 Euros and while I have 300.000 Euros that remain fοr the salaries the game won’t let me do any transfers. Specifically, in order for my team to take a player or even a fitness instructor or a sports therapist, it says that I have to give 2.000 Euros from the budget that I have for transfers and while I have a total budget of 570.000 Euros,it says that I don’t have enough money. Are there any possible solutions for my problem and how can I fix it?
  13. I'm in my 4th season with middlesbrough and the coaches I am allowed has always been the same. I have tried requesting to increase it but no matter what I say, they will always reject my request. Because of this, I can't sign any new coaches and reduce the workload of my staff. 5/9 of the training workloads are heavy & very heavy. If the club finance/how well the club is doing has to do with this, I have won the EFL Cup, FA Cup & Europa League. The club is now one of the richest in the Premier League.
  14. At the moment the salary's that certain clubs can give their players does not match the real life world. FM17 still uses a total salary budget, which can actually be used on one or two single players. For example its know that Ajax and PSV both use a salary cap of 1.0 mio euro's for their players. This is controlled by the board in order to protect the financial situation. Potentially this can be complemented with bonusses of course, but as it is now there is no player that has a 'basic' wage of more than that. I was hoping that in FM17 this would have been implemented, but as I started a new Ajax save I could see that i could offer the starplayer Davy Klaassen up to 2.5 mio p/y. This would never be possible in real life. There could be many players within the squad earning 1.0 mio (so the total salary budget is still usefull), but the highest yearly salary should also have a cap. There are many other clubs using this as well. To make this not too static, an option for requesting the board to increase the Salary Cap can then be built in. So managers can ask their board to lift the cap - making it possible to grow the club further, of course if financials (and tough board members) allow.
  15. In Premier League, when do you play with Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, or Man City at the start of the FM16, the minimum expectation of the board is "winning the league". Is this really what those clubs' boards demand minimally from their new managers? Of course every top club targets the best but this does not mean it is the minimum target. I think minimum expectation of those clubs should be qualifying for the Champions League. I think "minimum expectation" means "you will be sacked if you do not succeed". So 3 of those clubs' managers should be sacked at the end of the season.

I find this situation personally unrealistic and it's the situation where a manager goes on holiday for the next match which is probably in like 14 days time only to see at the end of the holiday when reading through the messages that a player came with a certain problem but since the manager is on holiday, the player wasn't attended to and this caused him to be unhappy thereby, affecting the whole team's happiness and to make it worse, you can't even conversate with the said player to sort his problem as it would be termed he was ignored. Secondly, when a manager's contract is running out, and goes on holiday, one could come to realize that he's been offered a new contract, agreed to and signed. C'mon, who does that in real life? How would a board give contract to a manager who is on holiday, who did they meet to sign the said contract, on the player's part, how can a player approach a manager who is not around. It still bugs my mind to see such things in FM 16 and what's worse is that you can't undo or sort it out. Would've been better if those instances had waited for the manager to be back from his holiday or probably halt the holiday period so that the manager would be aware of the important issue on ground. Kind of wondering what it would have been if other clubs placed bids for my players while I went on holiday only to come back and notice the bids were accepted, the players transferred and I'm having just 2 players left; I'd just knock off my laptop. Please, this needs to be sorted out in the future; don't know if it had been fixed in FM 17.
  17. Why should a coach propose adding philosophy(ies) during contract negotiations with the Board? It's more of a liability than a benefit. I need to remain flexible to play and hire as I need, right?
  18. So the board decided to expand my stadium. Also - they decided to plant a tree in one end of the pitch. It does not seem to hinder the matches being played, luckily.
  19. Recently I have been finding success in playing counter attacking football, after an entire first season of possession football, (generally 4-2-3-1 for possession or counter attack or 4-1-4-1 for counter attack) and allowing opponents most of the ball and then hitting hard on the counter. It's got me a 7 game unbeaten run after a dismal start to the season. I prefer it to possession football but the board want possession football and their confidence for philosophies has dropped from about 53% to 45%. What should I do? Can I be fired for not adhering to philosophies?
