  1. [FM18] Macau (Division 4) By Timo Follow me https://twitter.com/FmTimo The sport of football in the country of Macau is run by the Associação de Futebol de Macau. The association administers the national football team as well as the national league. The national team has never qualified for the AFC Asian Cup or EAFF East Asian Championship. The team qualified for the 2006 AFC Challenge Cup, where they got one draw and two losses. As the Sports and Olympic Committee of Macau, China is not recognized as a National Olympic Committee by the International Olympic Committee, the Macau national under-23 football team is unable to take part in the Olympic football tournament. In November 2016, Macau finished second in the 2016 AFC Solidarity Cup. Due to the withdraw of Guam and suspension of Kuwait, Macau qualified for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifying third round. 2. So I decided to go on a journeyman save across the old Soviet Union nations. I will also be incorporating Asia in this challenge as Asia is always a good save. Standard journeyman rules, start unemployed with no badges. Aims for this save are: Manage for at least 1 season in each of the nations I have loaded Manage for at least 1 season in each of the nations I have as view only at the start (make playable as I go) Win the top division in each of the old Soviet Union nations I have in the game which are: Kazakhstan Azerbaijan Bulgaria Russia Tajikistan Ukraine Uzbekistan Manage Lokomotiv Sofia for at least once Win at least 1 trophy with Lokomotiv Sofia Win the Champions league & Europa league with an old Soviet Union nation Win the Asian Champions league with more than 1 club Longer term aim is to win the Euro's and world cup with an old Soviet nation So meet Vladimir Todorov, a Bulgarian manager that supports Lokomotiv Sofia:- Nations that are playable and set to view only are:- Once I've won the top division in a nation I will either move on by resigning or wait until approached by another club. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks for reading!
  3. Hello. The purpose of this thread is to provide information to the FM Community about Chinese football in FM, with emphasis on the CSL. As someone who follows the league in real life, and has done for many years, as well as playing in the league in game, understands the culture from both a Chinese and Western perspective and someone with a healthy dislike of British tabloids, I feel qualified to give good information on this topic. Any questions, both about real life CSL myths and China in FM can be asked, and I will try to continue monitoring this thread. It is also worth noting that the CSL runs on a calendar schedule, and there will be rule changes when the February update comes out. This guide will be written based on the implementation of the rules in game now, as well as mentioning the changes next season. The Chinese Super League: in FM18 the CSL is recognised as one of the best leagues in Asia by reputation. It is played on a calendar season, as with the rest of east Asia, and has 30 league matches in a season, as well as having the Chinese Football Association Cup, in which all matches are two legged(including the Final). Every year the bottom 2 teams in the 16 team league are relegated and the top two are promoted from the China League 1 Squad and Transfer Rules: The CSL has strict squad rules compared to Europe, but slightly weaker than those of South Korea. In the 2017 season the squad is limited to 5 foreign players, with only three in the match day squad. unlike much of Asia, there is no AFC player allowance(3+1 rule) for ether the squad or the match squad, although in real life 1 of the 5 must be AFC. In the 2018 season there will only be 4 foreign player slots in the squad. Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan players are not local in 2017 unless their contracts were signed before 1/1/2016, but for the 2018 season are local(but I'm not sure how to real life limit of 1 non naturalised player will be put in to FM). Foreign Goalkeepers are also not allowed but any prudent player will realise that a goal keeper would not be a good use of a slot anyway, due to the shortage of local players On each match day clubs are also required to have 1 u23 Chinese player in the playing 11 at all times(although in real life this was worded as starting 11, leading to the u23 players being subbed off) and 2 in the match day squad overall. In the 2018 season clubs will be required to have as many u23 Chinese players in the match squad as foreign players, although as the CSL website is unavailable in the UK(where I live) and the SINA post is unclear, this rule is unclear. In China in FM, the Bosman rule is not used. This means that there is nothing stopping a player from being held by the club for ever. As this doesn't happen in real life though, I advise anyone playing in China to be sporting and renew contracts. There is 100% tax on foreign signings, designed to emulate a much more complex rule on transfers. This will probably be the same in game for the January update. Finally, there is a limit on Chinese signings. there can be at most 7 o17 Chinese players signed per season per club, and 5 o21 Chinese players per season per club. There is no limit on u17 players. UPDATE: for the 2018 season, clubs may only register 4 foreign players The Clubs: China, contrary to popular belief, has some very big clubs with proud histories, most noticeably Liaoning(relegated in 2017 season), Shanghai Shenhua(a mid table club with a history of alleged miss management and big foreign players)(Shen is short for shanghai, Hua means flower) Beijing Guo'an(Guo means nation, An means safety or security) , Shandong Luening(a company name), Tianjin TEDA(Technological Economic Development Area I think) and Dalian Shide(folded in 2009 I think). However, the big clubs today are Guangzhou Evergrande, now 7 in a row winners of the league(in the game as Hengda, the former Chinese name of Evergrande group, roughly meaning very big), shanghai SIPG(Shanghai international port group, in the game as Shanggang, meaning Hong Kong. How it became the translation I do not know. Formally known as Dongya, meaning east Asia) Hebei CF and Tianjin Quanjin(a Chinese medicine company). Along with these noticeable clubs there are a number of strong mid table clubs, all well funded(especially if one was to give the league its real TV deal). Most clubs also have strong facilities and stadiums between 25000 and 50000. This season in real life Liaoning and Yanbian have been relegated, while Beijing Renhe and Dalian Yifan have been promoted. The Players: It goes without saying that there are some very good foreign players in the CSL. Among them Brazilians Hulk(SIPG), Oscar(SIPG),Elekson(SIPG) and Alan(GZE), 2017 top scorer Eran Zahavi(GZRF) and Tianjin Quanjian stars Axel Witsel and Anthony Modeste. There are also some decent Chinese players, but china lacks in depth and as a result, good Chinese players sell for a lot in real life(not fully reflected in game) and are payed a lot(reflected in game). The best are Zhang Yuning(ST;West Brom on loan at Bremen), Wu Lei(AM;SIPG), Zheng Zhi(CM;GZE), Zhang Chengdong(AML;HBCF), Zhang Linpéng(DR;GZE) and Gao Lin(ST;GZE). The best goalkeepers are Zeng Cheng(GZE), Yan Junling(SIPG), Wang Dalei(SDL) and Yang Zhi(BJGA). As a rule in the CSL Good foreign players are Low to Mid EPL Level, whereas good local players are Low to Mid Championship Level. The Managers: In the 2017 season, the CSL had many top foreign managers. Most noticeably Big Phip Scolari, a Brazilian world cup winner, Andreas Villas Boas, Manuel Pellegrini, Fabio Cappello, Felix Magath, and Roger Schmit. in the 2018 season the manager list is significantly weaker as clubs have opted to go for local managers or younger foreign managers. of the previous list only Pellegrini, Cappello and Schmit are still in the league. Setting up a save: For people starting new saves, I would advise, as a minimum, they load Brazil, S.Korea, Saudi Arabia and Japan. This is to ensure proper functioning of th AFC Champions League. If playing with a database that adds Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau Players, or the January update, it may be wise to load Hong Kong. I would also advise that people get databases that add Japan and Saudi Arabia, as well as the Chinese National Second Division. Also, a file increasing the TV money in china(roughly 15000000 GBP per club per season) to approximate real amounts may be worth making. I have not attached mine as I modified someone else's file, and cant be bothered to ask permition to share it. Finally, one may want to add a database file that changes Asian competitions. I will attach mine, which increase the reps of japan, Saudi Arabia, China and Thailand while decreasing the reputation of South Korea. Tips: I will update this(I think) when the updates released. Feel free to ask questions. I might answer. Asia Competition Reps.fmf
  4. Need of a lot of fixes for national teams competitions, 1) WORLD CUP FINAL TABLE ERROR World Cup final table (since round of 16) this is a programmation error. In the image, this is the correct table, with the red line, the wrong inversed schedule on the game to fix. This error make the game unrealistic infortunately. 2) HOST COUNTRY FOR SOME NATIONAL TEAM COMPS We want to look host country for Oceanian Cup, Copa America, Asian Nations Cup, North American GoldCup, and for the Nations League final 4 (semi finals and finals schedule) in the competition menu, like it's already done for World Cup for example (3th screenshot) 3) INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS HOST COUNTRIES ON THE GROUP A ! EURO Championship, Africa Nations Cup, Copa America, North American GoldCup: host country must be ON THE GROUP A ! For a more realistic gameplay. I don't have screenshot, but Cameroon hosts African Nations Cup 2019 and the draw can put them in a random group (can be the C, the B or other). But ecause they are host country they always must be on the group A for the 2019 edition (and Guinea always on the A for the 2023 edition) and not another group like is now posible actualy on the game. The EURO Championship have the same problem with host countries. Only World Cup have the correct and realistic group A schedule for that (I talked about this on the 1st point but the problem of World Cup is the final table schedule who is not realistic). The North American GoldCup, Copa America, Asian Nations Cup have the same problem too but in worst because they dont have host country. 4) PROBLEM WITH AFRICAN NATIONS CUP 2019 MODULO 4 (---> 2023, 2027, 2031 ETC...) WINNER CAN'T PLAY CONFEDERATIONS CUP 2 YEARS LATER Please fix too, African team for Confederations Cup must be the African Cup winner and not a substitute team. I suggest African Nations Cup must start on the middle of July and end on the middle of August for not interact with Confederations Cup. Because like you can watch on this 2 screenshoots, Algeria won African Cup of Nations 2019 but Cape-Verde is qualificated for substitute Algeria because Algeria plays African Cup of Nations 2021 and cannot play Confederations Cup in the same time. 5) Please fix Confederations Cup 2021, must be in the same country of the World Cup 2022 I dont have screenshot but in my database, Confederations Cup 2021 was in Qatar and World Cup 2022 in Australia. I would be more realistic if Australia hosts Confederations Cup 2021 and World Cup 2022. 6) RUSSIA AND UKRAINE UEFA POLICY Ukraine and Russia cant be on the same group because of political problems (UEFA Policy) 7) EURO 2024: WILL BE HOSTED BY GERMANY OR TURKEY CANDIDATE COUNTRY (OFFICIALY CONFIRMED BY UEFA) The EURO 2024 will take place in Germany or Turkey candidate country (officialy confirmed by UEFA who will choose host country in September 2018) but on the game we have Spain host country possible. It's not realistic and it must be fix. Thanks for reading ! If you have any other suggestions you can post it in commentaries.
  5. Another year...another FM...and another FM save for me to embark on! Having lived in Asia a few years ago for a number of years, it’ll always be a special place for me, so for this years FM, it’ll see me going back to Asia where I’ve had a couple of successful saves in the past, most notably in my “Way of the Dragon” thread a few years ago. However, this year will see me playing along side youth only rules which only allows me to sign players that graduate from the clubs youth system. Game : Football Manager 2017 (PC) Database size : Large Leagues loaded : Australia (Hyundai A-League only) China (First Division and above) Hong Kong (China PR) (Premier League only) India (National Football League only) Indonesia (Premier Division and above) Malaysia (Premier League and above) Singapore (S-League only) South Korea (K-League Challenge and above) I’ve loaded up all of the available “out of the box” Asian leagues and holidayed for a year which has taken me to pre-season 2017/18. Previous experience : Sunday morning footballer I’ve chosen to start in Hong Kong (where I lived previously) and have taken over the newly promoted Wing Yee.

    World Wide Journeyman

Ok yes i admit the journeyman save is rather over done, however given the facts that A i'm board and B i've never done one before i though, "why not give it a go". So what sets mine apart from the norm? Well admittedly not a whole lot but the fact that i have all levels of competition from 35 different nations in 5 different continents, so it's gone global and i am not restricted to just Europe. yeah you are right that is alot of leagues.... and who is this man that will bring himself inter continental glory? here he is, a not too long out of school 20 year old *cough* should of been 18 *cough* with no badges or prior experience of the pro life ready to set sail on this lifelong journey. As you see i haven't invested in any coaching attributes and flung it all over to mental and pouring the few points i had in adaptability, you don't expect me to learn Hebrew or Arabic on 1 do you? Apart from that not a whole lot unusual about me/him. yes i am a Millwall supporter and yes i've herd all them jokes before. There where less jobs than expected available to me few in Asia, few in Europe and that was really about it, oh almost forgot 1 Brazilian and Columbian job but they told me in the interview my job was easy and involved putting packages in dark places so i thought best not. however there where a number of jobs that stood out to me including South Korean teams Daegu and Incheon both of whom turned my down after interviews than there was a lot of Irish side offering me interviews but i didn't go because i feel i wanted to start away from Europe. then i realized most Asian nations if not all where already a quarter to half way through there seasons at our start which was the English one. several Chinese sides rejected me before this happened... second tier Indonesian side Persatu Tuban, sounds more like head wear than a team but hey ho off to there i go. so off to Indonesia on £110 a week a comfy salary for this part of the world. here's the league table string of recent results we inherited that lead us to be top of our group and knocked out of the national cup. also on the note of us coming here think i should talk about how this league works plus any weird rules, ok here goes. So the 2nd tier is separated into 4 groups the top 2 of each go to a second pair of groups which the top 2 of each get promoted and finally 1st in each fight for overall first and 2nd in each fight for 3rd place. as for rules nothing other than Indonesian only players. doesnt look like a whole lot of building we got to do if this is the results we got, however the squad could potentially be a financial problem. what i meant by the above was the amount of players we have that will probably not get game time because i'm not a huge squad rotator and i like smaller squads. and here's the maiden tactic a counter 4-4-2. ok bad news unfortunately there are gonna be no games this update and its time to round this one off but i will come back after every in game month to evaluate it so next update will be up until the last game of august. and last but not least here's the games i will be doing for next update. but anyways guys thank you so much for reading this and stay tuned for more......
  7. Hi guys, I just bought & started playing FM 17 about 3 months ago. Currently playing in India in the mid-year of 2018 and I'm 2 seasons in. I've noticed that the league and cup reputations don't seem to change like in FM 15 (Did not play FM 16) EXCEPT for the European leagues & cups (I've leagues from EU, South America & Asia added). I remember in FM 15 this would update somewhere on the mid/last week of January every year (You get an update in your inbox on Champions league spot changes & league reputations) but it's not happening in time around. The AFC champions league and cup slots seem to be static as well. Did I miss something or has FM 17 slipped back? Any input would be great, Thanks!
