  1. I would like to know if anyone has done this, or if it is possible. I'm thinking of creating a structure (with the Argentine structure as model) that, in its fifth division, consists of +50 regional leagues (geographically delimited) that supply teams to a fourth division with no fixed or stable regular clubs (for example: 256 teams that change every year according to the teams promoted from each of the regional leagues and those relegated from the third). Now, the teams of the fifth division regional leagues, should continue playing in them even when they won promotion to the fourth, and even as they continue to ascend to the third, second or first. In Argentina, when this happens, these teams play their regional league with youth, reserves, some B or amateur team. I think with the editor you can not do this (at least in 2013, which was the last time we played a game created with the editor, it was not possible). Then I thought about creating, for each regional league, a "B League", made up of B teams from each of the teams that participate in each regional league. In this way, I would like to set the rules for, whenever a regional league team moves up to the fourth division, their team B takes their place in the regional league and remains playing in it until Team A returns (when is relegated from upper league) to its league of origin and, then, automatically descend to the regional B league (to leave its original place to the A Team). In addition, I should set rules so that no B Team can move up to the fourth division. Is all of this possible? I think that in Spain it happens that a B team can never be in the same category as team A: when team A descends, team B descends forcibly as well, plus it is forbidden for them to ascend if in the next top category their A team is playing too. Well, thanks for your attention, ideas and opinions in advance.
  2. So I've ran a bit bored with my MTK/Hungary save, and although FM19 is right around the corner I've come up with an idea that might just be fun for a while. FM18 for me has been almost 99% all on control/attacking mentality, somewhat direct-ish transitional football, often top-heavy formation, I'd not found the ME very kind for anything more patient, posession-based, or defensive, at least that I'd tried. So I've been doing occasionally a few tactical experiments here and there in FM Touch, to see if I'd finally click with one of those, and largely failing at coming up with good possession setups. Still on the patient theme but dropping the requirement for any kind of good looking entertaining football whatsoever that comes along with the idea of "possession", I opened up a new FM Touch experiment with Atlético, started from somewhat mimicking Diego Simeone's brutal 4-4-2, and ended up with this horrendously ugly strikerless counter-attacking beast (it was even originally on defensive mentality but works better on counter). Suddenly, it actually clicked well! The point here is absolutely not to entertain but to frustrate the opposition, concede as little as possible and occasionally nick a goal. Basically aim at having the best defence in the league and who gives a crap if the crowd is bored to tears. From my tests with Atlético this seems to kind-of-work, yet it's not a massively over-achieving tactic, so I'm at an exciting point of still trying to tweak this to squeeze a bit more performance out of it. Also let's see what other horrendously ugly variants I can come up with, as sometimes we do need a goal but I don't want to stray too far from the base idea. I'm thinking maybe add a defensive forward, maybe a false nine. It doesn't HAVE to be strikerless all the time, just has to be solid defensively. Atlético are an ideal fit for this but I absolutely do not want to manage them - I want to take terrible football to new grounds, build up a career of a manager from the very bottom. So it's time to introduce Argentinian-Uruguayan manager Enrique de los Santos, who is about to start his career in the bottom ranks of Argentina, a proper fitting house for shithousery football. What better place to out-Simeone Simeone than in the nation Simeone was born in: After much research (aka browsing Wikipedia for 5 minutes) I decided the right place to start Enrique's career is the phenomenally named "Club y Biblioteca Ramón Santamarina". Translated that's "Club and Library Ramón Santamarina" (Ramón was a local businessman, apparently). I'm sure back in 1913 it made perfect sense to tie the local club to the local library, but in 2018 that sounds absolutely hilarious. I chose them because they finished dead last in the Argentinian 2nd tier in 2017-2018 in real life. Since we're essentially starting this career by replaying that season, I certainly do hope we can do better than the 25th place the club finished in. Yes, that's TWENTY FIFTH PLACE. The league has a whole freaking mammoth 25 teams. Another reason is the ****ing cool kits: And apparently this is their supporters, I love it: Vamos Santamarina!!
  3. Aye guys, I asked an earlier question about what new team to start with, and have decided to managed in a south american team, 'most likley from argentina or brazil'. I am not a huge expert in these league, so I would appreciate help on some topics. 1) What team should I start with-I would prefer one with alot of youth prospects 2) Some very cheap young players- as to my knowledge, teams in south america dont have a great starting budget 3)Just any tips-as I normally manage a big club in Europe, so any tip would be great Cheers!
  4. From the Author of [FM16] Enemy Harriers Incoming! Club Atlético Aldosivi The Aim So before I begin, I'd like to thank @smp20 for inspiring me to start this save with his amazing San Marino thread last year and also for giving me some advice on this adventure. I'd also like to thank @iacovone, @LPQR, and Golden FM on YouTube for their equally impressive youth-oriented content that served as inspiration as well. With that out of the way, it's time to introduce my new challenge in the lovely nation of Argentina. So I'd imagine that most of you guys know the general structure of a youth challenge, but for those unfamiliar, here's the basics of how it works: - Your squad must be built through your youth academy. No buying, no loaning, and no free agents. - New players (regens) come through at youth intakes conducted annually by your HoYD, and this is the only way to acquire new players -You can have international players, as long as they come through your academy I chose Aldosivi (known as Los Tiburones or "The Sharks") mostly because of the logo and colours, and although they are a Primera Division club, they are minuscule in terms of reputation and history to the South American giants Boca Juniors and River Plate, therefore the challenge will still be quite difficult to pull off. Game Setup I only have the Argentine leagues loaded as playable, but I have the major European leagues, all South American leagues with the help of claassen's megapack, and USA and Mexico as view-only with a medium-sized database. Goals -Win all Argentine competitions (Primera Division, Copa Argentina, Supercopa) multiple times -Win the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, and Recopa -Win the Club World Cup, preferably by defeating the European champions -Become the most reputable club in Argentina, South America, and one of the most reputable in the world (Bonus) Manage the Argentine NT and win the World Cup and Copa America with a core of Aldosivi players Now usually these saves are done in Europe, so the Champions League is the goal for most players. However, continental glory won't be good enough here. This is South America, and although the Libertadores is a prestigious competition, it is nowhere near the reputation and richness of the Champions League. Therefore the only true way to prove yourself is in that Club World Cup against the European champs, so I think winning that will be the pinnacle for me and the club. Of course, this is almost certainly many seasons down the road. For now, we have to focus on discovering, developing, and perfecting the generation of players that will take us there. That starts right here, right now. My goals seem crazy to me, especially since my last thread saw me toiling with Kidderminster Harriers in the English fifth tier, but I've seen wilder and I'm sure you all have too. So if anyone wants to try and stop us, you'll have to talk to Chief Brody...
