I have decided to begin FM19 with my team, Tottenham. I am a massive fan of Pep's style of football, so have included some of his ideas as you can probably tell, however, it's not meant to be a recreation of City by any means. Haven't play any games with it yet, but I would appreciate it if you could make any suggestions as to what I can improve/fix, as I am pretty new to the franchise.
I'm currently playing the below 4141 which has been semi successful. I'm in my 4th season and just finished 7th and won the Europa League meaning I've qualified for the Champions league. However, I'm just looking for any advice to help take it to the next level... Defensively it's not too bad (conceded 44 in the league last season). Although the goals I do concede tend to be assisted from just in front of the back 4 - I did have Ajer as an Anchorman but found a bit more creativity as a DLP. My main issue is with chance creation and shots on target. Quite regularly my shots on target percentage is as low as 10-15%. I know it's hard to work out without watching games but I've watched a lot of them and nothing seems to help. I've tried slowing it down to wait for a better shooting opportunity but they just get closed down. I've tried to add TI Work Ball into Box but that hugely decreases the amount of crosses (even if it's the obvious option, they'll cut back and look for a pass towards the edge of the area). Maybe there is something fundamentally wrong that people can spot straight away but I'm at a loss at the minute. An example is here... I actually won this game 2-0 which I know I shouldn't really complain about but it's a prefect example of what I'm talking about. Like I said, it's been a pretty successful tactic and the football that get's played is very very good to watch when it's going well. but any advice is welcome!
So I've decided to start a Leicester save - I know its late - and this is kinda a Career Update thread but I'm focusing more on tactics = good results, not buy players = good results. My goal is to win the Premier League by 2026. Set the clock ticking.... now! I think we've all realised (Claudio Ranieri included) that Leicester's reputation has shot up following their shock title win in the 2015-16 season. So sitting back, defending tight and hitting teams on the counter with Vardy and Musa, is no longer an option against the mid table sides. Leicester are now expected to beat the mid table sides 3 or 4 nil.
