  1. Like many FM players I hoard every single high potential player I can find. I can't help myself, but the downside is the huge amount of work you have to put in at the beginning of every season loaning the players out, getting teams to pay their wages and loan fees, and then making sure that these players are going to playing a good amount, at the correct level, and training in good facilities. Doing all this manually is just a pain, and makes me hiring a director of football essentially pointless. The game should have staff that actually make your life easier. So my suggestion is an updated development/loan list. Where you can set out the parameters for what loans are acceptable. Wage requirements, loan fee requirements (what should be offered and then minimum acceptable), the level of the league, and play time. Too often will you put a player on the development list or list for loan and your director of football will loan him out as a rotational player with the loan team paying none of his wage and no loan fee. And most of the time, the loan is automatically accepted with no option to make it so that you have to sign off on the loan before it goes through, to prevent terrible deals. Whilst if you manually take over the loaning process you can get teams to pay wages, large loan fees and find teams willing to play them as first team players. This system could be implemented like this: Place player on development/loan list Wage: 100-50% Monthly loan fee: playing: 25-10%, not playing : 50-10% League level: Coach report recommended level or equivalent / top ten league. Training facilities: Minimum good training facilities. Play time: Minimum First team player. All these option could be set as default in you assistant tab in staff responsibilities, so that you don't have to do it for each individual player. I know you already have some loan options in that tab, but the director of football often does not follow those guidelines, in this situation he would have no choice, though there could be a situation where the DOF will tell you than he has not been able to loan out a player because your demands are unreasonable. There should also be an option to reject a loan that the DOF has negotiated if you decide it is not good enough. As Well as a stat, hidden or not, which effects the DOF negotiating ability, better negotiation means better deals. loan fees are also unrealistically small, in the beginning of the game you will see real loans with teams playing 700k+ monthly loan fees, look at for instance some chelsea players, Zouma, Kenedy, Batshuayi, yet in the game you will never get a loan fee for more than 300K pounds a week no matter how good a player is. Bringing in young players and loaning them out for profit is absolutely done in real life, and very possible in the game as well, the only thing I am suggesting is making it less of a pain, grinding through hundreds of terrible offers for players over a transfer window is not increasing anyones enjoyment if the game.

Hello, I am starting a new fm18, as I got too far in my last 1 (too many regens in my opinion) and am looking for a club to manage, ideally I would like: A low profile top tier club No non European restrictions(I like to buy from Brazil and argentina) A young team, with high potential Enough transfer budget to buy a few young players (10-15mil ideally) Any ideas would be highly appreciated! ☺😊

  4. so I've struggled to play fm17 from the start as I've not been able to find my youth setup u18s and reserve teams in any games I have started etc. tried to google it but no help at all I first thought it was a settings issue with me pressing quick start or something at the start but that wasn't the problem , then I moved to the settings like the skin and what not. no help what so ever. someone give me some guidance towards fixing this ****
  5. My intention with this topic is to show an obvious flaw regarding youngsters and their attributes. The ones who have 0 in the pre-game editor in particular. Part A-Youngsters and their "Decisions" attribute. I manage Olympiacos in Greece (FM17) and while comparing my U20s Team with other teams from my league, I noticed this: "Worst in Greek U20s Group 1"... "Why is the Decisions attribute so low" I asked myself. Ah, yes! It's because I edited all my players who had 0 in their attributes in the pre-game editor and gave them more reasonable stats. This is how they look now (which gave me the "Worst" result) and how they looked before any editing: And this is the mental comparison before any editing: But wait a minute. Does this mean that now I have to compete with a bunch of smart Einstein's? Let's have a look at the other teams and the "Decisions" attribute from their players (without any editing): In every FM version the same thing happens. The game gives unreasonable values for youth players with 0, and it especially gives a very high Decisions attribute for some reason. Part B-The not so reasonable distribution of attributes in youngsters. Let's compare some youngsters from my team who had 0 in all their attributes and my editing afterwards: (Image to the left=Before any editing, Image to the right=After editing) (Besides the editing in all their attributes, I increased the CA of some youngsters by 5 points (for example, CA60 became CA65) Now, a question for anyone who read this topic: If you had to choose between the "before" and "after" youngsters, who would you buy? Conclusion Why do you(people at SI) make me edit all those players every year? Why? Can't you add some attributes on your own? Yes, I know that there is no way you can know the current ability of those young players. Fine! Just create templates, I don't care. I don't care if you create "samey" saves. Besides, the vast majority of real life players at those ages (15y-18y) are the same. Only a 5% is what stands out and become great footballers. There is also this very good topic, which shows some very bad results regarding the "Important Matches" attribute for youngsters who have 0 in it. Please, do something.
