  1. Another simple suggestion to fix the scouting system in FM Firstly can SI provide clarity as to what scouts actually factor into account when providing their opinion on potential ability? Secondly, if this isn't already the case - can the under the hood PA simply not be one of these factors? Wouldn't it be possible to use a formula - (which then also factors in scouting error) - based on current ability vs age (where he is in a perceived development curve), various attitudes like determination/professionalism etc, form and then a higher weighting towards physical attributes and more "natural" attributes that are harder to teach therefore indicating higher potential. So in essence the in-game prediction of Potential is not at all linked with the under the hood PA value. This would then fix the issue that is currently present that high PA players are too easy to spot. CA/PA suggestion on top of this could be a solution to the "late bloomer" problem. What if there was a cap on CA development based on training facilities and league reputation and then once players broke this cap or made it to the higher leagues - would see a rapid improvement even past the 25yo development cap?
  2. Create a broader staff with a psychologist / motivator, a nutritionist, warehouseman, and press officer to increase the number of people interacting with the team and the players. Then create a team of old glorys over 35 or over 40 with their own championship, so to satisfy even old CM / FM players like me. The team of old glories only for the most prestigious teams. Hello
  3. Hi, I wanted to know if its possible to start a game with the squads that were active when the transfer window closed in September. For example if I start a new game now Ronald Koeman isnt Everton manager but that isnt realistic when starting a new game because he was fired by Everton during the season. I believe this feature was available in previous versions of FM

How do you make more staff visible in your saves, usually i have my DB set at 'All Continental' for each Continent on a large DB setting with usually just England loaded up but the UK set at 'All National' players loaded. This should of course load the requested players but seems to have no bearing on the staff available when searching. I usually only play as Arsenal and the likes of Freddie Ljungberg, Robert Pires and even Tony Adams are never available even when just searching their names or by sorting staff by their favoured clubs I'd love to be able to build a back room staff of past players but it just doesn't seem possible without loading up a massive DB (i guess) which would of course just make the game very very slow to load through. I don't understand why such big names as those (and probably more) are not there but there's loads of pretty much unknown people available. Anyone know a solution?
  5. Is anyone else experiencing that sometimes when managing another team, Inter only have like 5 staff members and a load of their staff like Roberto Samaden is not in the game? Other games they have full staff and the likes of Samaden is there. Is this a bug or am I missing a reason why this is happening?
  6. Seems something has changed here then? They now have an attribute in-game for the following three coaching area's. Distribution Handling Shot Stopping So, in terms of searching it doesn't seem to be Goalkeeping+DDM+Tactical/Technical any more? Seems like it's each of the three new attributes + DDM.

When I started a new game as a manager of Brighton, I found that there are only 6 players of Brighton in squad, and the other 18 players in squad don't belong to Brighton.It also happensed in staff. You can image how ridiculous it is when I saw my captain is a player who play for a Swedish amateur club meanwhile. I didn't use IGE, database editor or other application like those to change database or game. After many tests, I'm sure that this bug caused by Chinese Languege Database. This bug will happen if you choose 17.31 Chinese Languege Database at the beginning then change it into 17.30 Update Database. Specific procedures are as follows. First, choose 17.31 Chinese Languege Database. Second, at this interface click "取消" ( cancel ) to quit to start screen Then change 17.31 Chinese Languege Database into 17.30 Database Next, start the game as usual. Well, it show me other club's transfer. It show me many players don't play for my club in squad and tactic. The same thing happened in staff. Not only my club, but also the others of the world. Woodburn plays for MU, lol. To help you SI fix this bug, I start 2 games in the bug and I upload them here. You can also start game in my way to trigger this bug. Sorry for my poor English.   9. I've found a good coach with CA-116 and PA-151. He is 49y old. Till what age should i expect his CA to improve? Is there an age limit?
  10. I'm using a custom db, but for some reason, I can't seem to employ any youth coaching staff at any club, no matter of level. It's not an issue I've come up against before, am using the advanced editor, the roles are there, but my board constantly advises I have no staff, and if I request additions (only available for coaches, not the managers or anything else) they reject me each and every time. Anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong? I have under 23s and Under 18s set as my first and second youth teams.
  11. I saved my game and everything was normal. When loaded the game up again after a laptop update all the player and staff names have changed to fake names!? Please help, how can I get all the real names back!?
  12. I was hired to coach Juventus, and am trying to hire a new Assistant Coach. In the Job Search, nobody wants to discuss with me: "not interested in joining your club", regardless of their World Reputation (even 2 star guys are rejecting me) C'mon this is Juventus!. I also just put out a job advert (but they usually attract poor candidates). Any ideas or tips on what's going on? Thanks.
  13. I'm in my 4th season with middlesbrough and the coaches I am allowed has always been the same. I have tried requesting to increase it but no matter what I say, they will always reject my request. Because of this, I can't sign any new coaches and reduce the workload of my staff. 5/9 of the training workloads are heavy & very heavy. If the club finance/how well the club is doing has to do with this, I have won the EFL Cup, FA Cup & Europa League. The club is now one of the richest in the Premier League.
  14. I think it would be really helpful and realistic to be able to get sports Psychologists to improve composure aggression big matches constancy and stuff like that. anyone agree
  15. i feel the game is long overdue the role of a commercial director. attributes such as: deal making, rational decisions, reputation, contacts etc... could all be taken into account. a good commercial director can market the club and create large revenues for the manager.
  16. I feel that the interaction between <the player> and the staff could be better. Take scouting as an example. If you set you head scout in charge of scouting assignments, he assigns the scouts and they deliver their reports. However, if he continously send scouts to a region you find pretty much useless (and the scouts agree, by saying in the report that they'd be better of scouting somewhere else), you should be able to talk to your head scout, and say that although he's in charge of scouting, you, as the manager, would like for him to focus on other regions, or avoid a certain region. Or, in other cases, to avoid scouting (too detailed) players in certain positions that are just about a waste for you (players who primarily are wing backs, if you only want to play with limited, defensive full backs for instance). Likewise, if your DoF's in charge of transfers, you should be able to talk to him (or her) about what players you, as the head coach, would like, players who'd fit into your tactical systems, and at the same time, avoiding to buy several players in positions you're already loaded, instead of finding players where you're short in your squad.

Hello, my first time making a request on any game XD, i noticed that my team had under 21 and 19 sub teams, and they play in some kind of league and cup, so my request and susgestion would be that I first team manager can talk to my staff (under 21&19 Managers) and tell them what to do or if they are losing help or give warnings that if they don't improve i will have to fire them etc.. yeah i know this must not be very important but i just taught it would be fun, realistic and more rpg-like for the game
  18. Do you think it is important to have staffs as same preferred formation as yours? I have an excellent assistant coach whose attributes are all awesome for our current level and we are on Skybet League 2 now.His preferred formation is different from mine and he is the best for giving advices about the tactic and team instructions at the club.I ignore his formation advice but approve the rest,yet we can't have good results.I know its not only because of it but does it have any effect ? Check his attributes below.Is it better to hire someone who has the same preferred formation as you?What about other staffs like youth development,scouts etc.?
  19. The new role of 'Data Analyst' has been put into FM17. I'm in search of one and have put an advert out in the job centre. Is there any specific attributes you need to look out for in a good data analyst? They all seem to have similar high adaptability & level of discipline attributes.
  20. Hi, I've played FM 2015 ever since it came out and decided to update by getting FM2017. I'm playing the beta version now and there seems to be several things that I found valuable in FM2015 that have been removed. Can anyone confirm if they have been removed, or if they're being done in a different way please? 1. Staff - Firstly, I can only see my most senior staff (e.g. head physio, head scout, etc). Does anyone if I can see all staff (e.g. physio, under 19s coach, etc) another way or has it gone? Secondly, the 'staff responsibilities' tab I'm used to has been removed. Again, can I assign responsibilities another way or has this gone? 2. Training - The really useful old calendar system of seeing what the training focus is on which week, and being able to click on individual days to give a 'rest day' seems to have vanished. 3. Team talks - probably most bizarrely of all, I'm not prompted to give an opening, half time or full time team-talk. There must be another way to do this! I can't believe you wouldn't be able to do this as a manager. Can anybody advise please? Thanks in advance
