  1. From Proper Fraud to Proper Thread Welcome aboard the FMCU community thread where anyone is free to join in. I will jazz up the opening post with more flavour when I have time but for now lets just get the rules out there so those that want to contribute can start whenever they're ready. Game Setup - No edited databases, any official FM database allowed (e.g. FM 18.3, 18.0 or any previous FM). - Have a chosen nation you will have a career in and load all playable leagues. Any other nation top flight leagues can be added for immersion purposes. - You can be play in any nation, however the save would work better in a national with multiple lower tiers, completely up to you. - Any database size allowed up to maximum of 60,000 players. - Player Attribute Masking must be ticked on. Manager A little bit of flexibility here, as in itself it's unrealistic that a Sunday League player with no coaching badges will land a manager's job in Conference North. The limits are the following: - Sunday League Footballer & Continental B Licence - Semi-Pro Footballer & National A Licence - Professional Footballer (Local) & National C Licence - You can start with lower/no licences if you want to, but you must not go above the limit. You can spread your attributes however you like. - You can either start at a club in the lowest playable league, or start unemployed with the aim of getting a job in the lowest playable league. - You may move clubs, but only to a maximum of one league above. If you are sacked you may apply for jobs at the same level as your previous club (or lower). Tactics - Your default formation / tactic must include 3 or 4 defenders and at least 1 striker. - You may only use a 3-striker system in the last 20 minutes of a game. - Maximum of 3 Team Instructions at any one time (these can be added/removed throughout) - Maximum of 1 Player Instruction per player. Transfers - Any player signed must have been scouted. You may have found the player yourself, but must be able to get a scout report for the player to be able to sign them. - Ideally make use of the scouting system and/or DOF for signing players for added realism. - Youth only is allowed if you wish to play this way. - You can only employ staff who apply for a job advert, or offer a job to a current player. No staff search allowed! That's it for now, the rules are changeable if there is a consensus, however I think this gives a good base. Enjoy!
  2. It always frustrates me when a real life manager has made terrible signings that you can't sell on in the first window (+ sometimes struggle in Jan!)... Can SI give an option to start from the final day of the previous season before any signings have been made? + Give you the opportunity to hang on to players with expiring contracts?... Would be an interesting challenge especially when you're taking over promoted/relegated clubs and/or clubs that need a big squad overhaul - and when real-life manager made a ludicrous and expensive deadline day signing that you can't get rid of... (Fellaini to Utd, Konchesky to Liverpool, Torres to Chelsea, Andy Carroll to Liverpool, etc)...
  3. Last year on MeisterTrainerForum, I came across Swedish_Lenny's excellent work, added a few things, and loved it! Unfortunately, this year, he has retired from editing: So I'm continuing the work, but also modified it quite a bit. Realistic Injuries for FM18 Original Injury Count: 114 New Injuries(Lenny's + Mine): +86 Total: 200 Common Injuries: Career Threatening, Serious Injuries: Likely Goalkeeper Injuries: Contagious Injuries TESTERS NEEDED: The goal behind this is to make things more difficult, and realistic for the user. And primarily, create more day-to-day decisions. 1. It's no longer easy to get by with one keeper, you must have a backup, if not more than one. 2. Reducing national team time for a player is more necessary. 3. Adding injury clauses in contracts is more necessary. 4. Obviously, medical center, good physios, training balance, rest, and recovery management are all more important. 5. Minor, short injuries are more common, with the ability to play with protective equipment if appropriate. So now on a game-to-game basis, you will have to decide: Do you play your star this game, and let him recover/sit out the next game? Do you play him for only the first half? Or do you sit him out now, and save him for the big game? 6. Managing older players, who are more prone due to age, wear and tear, and injury history. Now, testing is needed, to see if the balance is right. For those who can manage injury prevention well: Are there too many/few injuries? Is one injury too common/rare? Please send your feedback, thoughts, and test results! But most of all, enjoy the file! File: Realistic Injuries.fmf
  4. Hi, Ive played FM for a long time and just want to say thanks for this amazing game. After a year with FM17 i have some small suggestions for the future versions of FM. 1. It should be possible to move players from U19 to the seniorsquad just for a cupgame. Like a button "make available for senior cupmatches". Annoying to move players back and forth from U19 to seniorsquad for 5-10 games each season. 2. A report each month from the U19-chief about which players from the academy who deserves a chance for the a-team / the seniorsquad (which players that is good enough for the main team). This is how it works in real life, i think. 3. Insane transfer-amounts for smaller nations. I understand it with the Premier League, but not for scandinavian countries. For instance: i just bought a player for 140 million from Tromsø FK in Norway. He is 17 years old. In real life, transfers in Norway goes rarely over 2 million euros within the country. 4. Why no women and children in the stadiums? Hehe. And why shouldnt the colours for the away-team be represented at the stadiums? 5. I think it`s to hard to get job offers when you`re already a highrated manager. Ive won the champions league 4 times but stil havent got a job offers from big clubs like Barcelona etc. Again, thanks for a great game. Hope this suggestions make sense for SI and other players.
  5. Would love to see more aggressive/harsh media articles in the game, much like we do in real life. The media play a huge part in the modern game and it would be great to see that reflected in the FM world. We already see glimpses of this when the media tend to put pressure on your squad/team selections. However, in terms of media slander, we dont see much of it in the game. An example of this, would be if the club have become stale, or in a terrible run of form and the media start jumping on the band wagon - Especially when at the more reputable clubs & International management. Would it be possible to have headlines/articles of fans calling for managers to be sacked/replaced? Fans disliking the playing style or transfer business? Would it possible to see terms like ''DISASTER'' , ''IT STINKS'' , ''HUMILIATING'' , ''NO WAY OUT'' ... or even fan protests/not turning upto games? In recent years, we have seen alot of these stories - Wenger/Arsenal, Jose/Chelsea, Moyes/LVG/United, Hodgson/England and so on - it would be refreshing to see the pressures that come with managing at the top top level reflected in the games media. In addition to this could we see more realistic language around player transfers. I would also like to see an improvement in the general news articles that surround the in-game footballing world. In particular the lack of structure around Breaking News ... I feel the Breaking News should be ever present during the transfer windows, and also when a manager is sacked/resigned/appointed. Possibly have a Breaking News topic in Yellow in your inbox when something major has happened in the game. Instead of just bland ''ARSENAL SACK SMITH'' ... why not have a Breaking News article in Yellow ''BREAKING NEWS: TOM SMITH SACKED BY ARSENAL'' with an article on the story. For transfers ''BREAKING NEWS: TOMMY SMITH ARRIVES FOR MEDICAL'' .... ''BREAKING NEWS: CHELSEA AGREE SMITH FEE'' again with an article on the how the deal unfolded. I have many more ideas on this topic, however do not want to ramble on too much. Would love to hear your views on this. Regards
  6. In the footballing world, Pre Season is one of the most important & chaotic periods in a clubs season …. Training camps, enduring transfer saga’s, board meetings and of course the lucrative friendlies to please the commercial partners. In Football Manager, I cant help but feel that Pre Season is no more than a few clicks of the "Continue" button, with the odd player transfer thrown in (should you have enough money) and maybe a week long training camp to Spain which has no real effect on the game itself. Would it be at all possible for the Pre Season madness of the real world to be simulated in the Pre Season world of Football Manager?? Below are some of the ideas I feel would help blend the two worlds together. 1) MID SEASON BOARD MEETINGS TO DISCUSS UPCOMING SUMMER: Board suggest friendlies based on commercial requirements. (We would like to play against either Club A, Club B or Club C in the USA as part of our commercial obligations) Board suggest Training Camp locations based on commercial requirements. (Please select which two weeks you would like to spend in China as a result of our commercial obligations) Pre Season tournaments with added income (We have been invited to play in the X Cup in Australia) *The results of these meetings to be kept in place even if the manager is removed from their position. (a similar situation happened when LVG was unhappy with Man United's pre seasons plans that were put in place by the previous manager/commercial requirements) 2) PRE SEASON INTERVIEWS: Interviews whilst on Training Camps or Pre Season Tours – reflect on upcoming season or latest in-game transfer/football news. 3) TRANSFER IMPROVEMENTS: Clubs transfer activity is often impacted by other clubs Pre Season plans. (Club A has to wait for Club B to return from tour in China before continuing negotiations) Players arriving for medicals! In today's world, players jetting off around the world for a Pre Season/Mid Season medical is big news. (Player X arrives for Club A medical) or (Player X jets in for Club A medical) Would love to hear your thoughts, responses and/or feedback on these suggestions. Regards.
  7. This is something that bothers me most about FM. value of the player should depend on their performance, not solely on potential. I see players who play less than 10 games for their team, with an average of under 6.70, and they get sold for millions and millions of pounds. Other players get sold for 2-5m pounds, even though their performance that season was over a 7.20. It's true that potential does play a role in the transfermarket (i.e. Martial to Utd) but I think performance matters just as much if not more. Another thing that should change depending on performance is player potential. if a players potential and current ability are 132, but that player has been putting in great performance on the pitch, I think that his current ability and potential should go up. & for players with the same potential but with 6.40 avg performance, the potential & current ability should go down. I think this would make the game a lot more realistic.
  8. The 'start today' option can be a way for to customize the season/campaign experience. Since the football season is already underway, it would be an awesome adittion to be able to start as per today. The option allows for users to begin their season with up-to-date standings and statistics. Now 7/8 months into the season teams are in the race for the national title or fighting agains relegation. Also, teams progressed and are eliminated from the Champions and/or Europe League. All teams should have the correct win-loss records and correct player stats (games played, goals, assists). Some gamers may wish to jump on the bandwagon of those with hot starts or look to turn things around for those that have disappointed thus far. It would add another exciting realistic option to the most realistic manager game.
