  1. hi, My problem started the first time i installed FM2018, screen is half black and white on start up, but i have read that this is an ongoing issue. but then my game froze on the loading screen, so i exited and tried a couple more times, finally managed to get into the game after about 2-3 hours sorted out all my team, was a little on edge due to freezing when games was processing, but kept coming back. but the REAL problem is that whenever i get to matchday and submit my team, the game crashes and i end up with crash dumps. this is my first post on here and hardly know how to upload anything, but will screen shot most and upload below. also, i have no customs installed, i have re-installed twice, thanks FM 2018 v18.0.2.1032514 (2017.11.02 22.30.47).dmp FM 2018 v18.0.2.1032514 (2017.11.02 22.42.49).dmp FM 2018 v18.0.2.1032514 (2017.11.03 10.24.50).dmp DxDiag.txt
  2. Hi football manager is a game I love so the fact I don't like the look won't make me stop playing but it is still annoying. Below is a list of the things I use to see in FM 2017 which I am not seeing now in FM 2018 Beta. Commentary - In FM 2017 I played on Key highlights and between highlights I would get a lot of commentary on pretty much everything happening in the match which is what I want to see. In Fm 2018 Beta I hardly see any commentary while in between highlights, I see it mostly during highlights Player Condition of my team - In FM 2017 between highlights I would easily see a list of all my 11 players with the number % of how much condition they have. And this was useful incase one of my players suddenly dropped condition. In FM 2018 the only way I know how to see condition inbetween highlits is to pause it and manually go to Tactics page which is not ideal. Pre match look - In FM 2017 just before I start a match I would see key things I found useful. 1 was a description of the player most likely to be the biggest threat in both teams. 2 was pre match betting odds. 3 was a prediction of the score which said something like, I predict this to be a comfortable win for TEAM NAME, they should win by 2 or 3 goals. In FM 2018 Beta I don't see this at all Assistant Manager Feedback (before match starts) - In FM 2017 I looked at this to see which of my players was too confident or was not happy with my chosen captain. In FM 2018 I only know how to check this once the match has started and not before Rewind or fast forward button - And a live button - I used this in FM 2017 to go back and see something clearly I missed then I would click Live to continue my match. In FM 2018 I have to drag the slider bar back and I normally drag it too far back and I see no live button Overview page big and clear - While this page is still available in FM 2018 Beta, it is not really a page but a tiny small box. In FM 2017 it was a big page and I could see everything clearly when there is a lot of match events (Goals, Yellow cards, Injuries etc). Match report page - I am not 100% sure if this was the name of the page in FM 2017 but I am talking about the page where you can see pretty much every single match event that has happened from kickoff. In FM 2017 it had things like match commentary, Injuries, Red or yellow cards. Etc More advice from Assistant manager - Although in FM 2017 most of the advice they gave me I disregarded it was a beneficial feature. The thing I used mostly was when they said PLAYER NAME is looking exhausted out there and we should think about subbing him. In FM 2018 Beta I often find myself going into tactics page to do a sub (not knowing one of my players is already exhausted. If any of you know of how to see any of the things I described above please tell me clearly how to see it in FM 2018 Beta while in matches. Thanks
  3. first of all,as a Chinese player I'm glad and rly appreciate that fm2017 launched official language in Chinese. however, the latest version of fm2017 got an issue with the translation. due to the players' name are all in Chinese after 17.31, lots of names look awful, as they were not translated properly (pretty sure some of them are definitely from Google translation). it's a good idea to replace all of English alphabet into Chinese characters, but if the translation was "incorrect" it would be a trouble for the users -- we got confused sometimes by misinformation. and for fixing this, the only perfect solution probably is outsourcing the job to a professional localising team who actually speak Chinese, but obviously it will cause way more expenses and workloads. So maybe the practical method is, leave all the players' names in alphabet just like in 17.30. it looks not so good but will come with less confusions in deed, plus this is the most common way for Chinese to play FM series before. I'm wondering that will the language problem I mentioned above come with fm2018? does SI's localising team realise there are problems with the translation and will they intend to improve it? hope there could be someone answer my concerns. thanks

  5. Hi! Summay: Specify, or draw in some way, how to pressure the opponent team in detail. Most of the times I do not want to press a certain player, one of the CBs or a FB. I know I can achieve this by setting opponent instructions on the specific player (close down -> never) but the way my attacker handles this instruction is not effective at all. They just sit and wait whereas I would like to see the player taking distance, but covering the passing line to another player close to him. E.g. Do not close down the opponent LCB. My RW would pressure the opponent LB, my LW would pressure the opponent RB and my ST would cover the passing line to the opponent RCB and the midfielders would take care of the midfielders in a similar way. I feel a pressure system in greater detail could really show the greatness of a football manager. What do you folks think?
  6. Hi! Summary: Play a different formation when attacking than when defending. Say you manage a team and you fancy a 5-3-2. For the sake of this example you implemented this 5-3-2 with two wing backs who want to go forward. The problem with this, in my opinion, is that I do no want both wing backs to go forward at the same time. In order to create a dynamic play style I want to see one of the wing backs go forward and the other one to sit, depending on on which side the ball is or in the case of a counter attack which wing back will most likely be involved. The players are now lined up as a 4-4-2, but the entire formation is out of shape. I want the midfield to properly line up as a 4 men midfield, so the rcm goes more wide. I want the defense to properly line up as a 4 men defense, so all go a bit to the left. When the opposition has the ball again, the players line up as a 5-3-2. What do you folks think?
  7. Passion4FM , an acronym for Passion for Football Manager (formerly known as My Passion 4 Football Manager) celebrated 1 year running the day the official Football Manager 2014 announcement where released. We got approved as Sports Interactive Fansite some days ago, and looking forward to the release of Football Manager 2014 by building upon the work of our in-depth guides and tutorials, that already exists. To talk a little about myself, I'm 31 (soon 32) years old, born in Norway and have played Football Manager almost half my life (since 14/15) - when FM was called Championship Manager. I've played it almost from the first edition, and could be described as a FM addict, as I play it every day. Some will claim I'm a sports addict, but I consider myself as a sports interested guy; football, cycling, running and winter sports. Passion4FM started as a blog to help every level of Football Manager fans and provide you with "all you need to know" to succeed by sharing of my long time Football Manager experience. I guess everyone has a heart for a special element of the game; mine is finding new wonderkids, scouting and creating tactics that replicates certain famous playing styles, such as the Tiki-Taka tactic. Since Football Manager 2013 where released we have walked our dedicated followers and visitors through training, tactics, team management and staff and player recommendations. We have covered everything related to training - from individual training to training intensity as well as providing you our tips for match tactics adoption (read touchline instructions, opposition instructions) and scouting. We have covered a lot of guides, (too many to highlight and show here!), since day one, and we will of course give you more guides and articles in the coming year specially targeted for Football Manager 2014, in additional to give you more about what we already have covered for FM 2013. Since we cover everything Football Manager related, you can now download exclusive skins and graphics, shortlists and filters to find the best coaches and staff. Since I love to find new wonderkids both in RL and in FM, we have written some articles both on emerging talents in additional to sharing my own personal shortlist of Football Manager 2013 wonderkids and talents. We hope our (sometimes long) and in-depth articles will be of any help and that you find them interesting. Hopefully Passion4FM can become a site for everyone who have a passion for the beloved game. I would also like others to contribute on the website with their knowledge and experience to make the guides and articles as in-depth and worthy as possible. So you are free to share your own experience and knowledge either by guest writing or commenting in the articles. My final aim is to see you succeed, and see new generations playing the game that's special for me. Hopefully this is your aim to! You can find Passion4FM at Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook and Youtube Subscribe, drop by and say hey, at least! or recommend us to your friends! Have a great weekend Espen
