  1. Welcome to the spa town of Buxton, famous for cheap bottled water and not so famous for their football club. The bucks have been in existence since 1877, and play at Silverlands. It has a capacity of 4000, with 490 seats (some of which were salvaged from Maine Road, once home to Man City.) The squad is average, but most of the talent is on the older end of the spectrum. My backup keeper started the file by hanging up his boots before a ball was kicked! He is now our scout. There is one thing Buxton are unbeatable at: the highest ground, sitting over 1000ft above sea level. This will be a youth academy only challenge, and I will, for once, be making my own tactic. I will also, where possible, promote staff from within the club. Manager is Sunday League reputation, no badges. I have simmed one season to get them promoted! Next update: Mid-season, squad analysis and tactics. Aim for the season: Survival. Fa Cup run.
  2. Hi I found a minor bug during gameplay when your team scores alot of goals during the season it will sometimes creates minor bugs somewhere else ingame... In the first screenshot i've uploaded you can see that my team Coventry has scored at least 306 goals but in the second screenshot you'll see that it's only 52 goals. The first screenshot is the correct one. So i think the game can't handle more than 250 goals during a season... Best Regards DjHazze81
  3. Hello, I have the following problem: I use a customized database from the FM2016 edition. It is currently stored in the "editor data" folder of FM2018. I tried to load it with the FM2019 editor once I copied it into the "edit data" folder of this edition... and the file can not be found. How can i fix it? Programs like "Football Manager Resource Archive" do recognize it. The file is also available in the FM2018 editor. The FM2019 editor opens the folder, but it is empty. Thanks for the help
  4. Introduction With Fm2019 beta only a couple of weeks away, I launched into my final FM2018 save, again! This will be the first save I have reported, so please bear with me as my style, and level of detail are worked out, both by me, and by you, my readers. As always, feedback is most welcome. The Early Days The Staff In previous saves I sacked Lee Carsley and replaced him with somebody with higher attributes for picking the starting team. I took a different approach this save and opted to keep him as I couldn’t find an assistant with a better Tactical Knowledge attribute. I felt quite able to pick the playing team myself, and wanted to see how using the tactical advice would go. There were no senior coaching slots open, so I asked the Board for more coaches which they approved. I had three slots available for the U23s but I had plans for them. I hired an additional goalkeeping coach and then another U23 keeping coach, a fitness, and a technical coach for the u23s who did double duty for the seniors. I took on the attacking role and had four stars in all training roles except Tactical with three and a half. The scouting team comprised an analysis geek and two lacklustre scouts. I sent the latter packing and hired in my favourite Scout xxx with 17 and 20 for actual and potential attributes and gave him the chief’s role. I then found a rather uninspiring Polish scout who had a good knowledge base and a reasonable Tactical Knowledge rating to be my next opponent reviewer and two guys with moderately good potential attributes to find my young blood. I beefed up the medical department with some decent physios and went to see the players. The Squads The Youth team had a handful of 16 year olds who looked like they might develop okay, so I organised some mentoring to boost their determination, personality or both. The 17 and 18 year olds of potential (3 ½ stars) went into the U23s if they had a full star in Actual. The U23s boosted by some youngsters with potential was a tad unwieldy, with only a few candidates for long term careers with the club. There were quite a few who might develop a bit who could be sold off for cash, but there were many playing the same position which proved to be a bit troublesome as finding playing time worth a damn was going to be difficult. The younger ones I paired up with mentors where I could and the older ones I set to training either new traits or on individual traits as advised. The seniors looked a good bunch, and from previous saves I knew most could be counted on for making a good account of themselves. First thing I did though was to send all the loanees back to their home clubs. This freed up over 2 million pounds of salary, and gave me a transfer budget if I could find players better than my squad already had. My only concerns were lack of depth at Goalkeeper, both in their 30’s and only one star youngsters to back them up. I also had concerns with left wing, though the best replacement for Maghoma was away on loan, I still needed some backup. There were similar concerns for left defence, as Grounds’ backup were one star youngsters of 16! My central midfield was solid, with Kleftenbeld and Davis destined to be the starters with xxx, Gardner and xxx capable backups, the latter two able to rotate into Right Defender as well as Midfield. Ngoye I would set to learn Central Defence to provide some more quality backup there too, having doubts about the long term viability of Dean and Roberts who I had experience with from FM2016, and the veteran Morrison would be solid for only a couple of seasons at best. I didn’t even consider starting club legend xxx in the first team. The System Training In previous saves I put all players on the training schedule pertinent to the position I wanted them to play, to either increase their familiarity with it or to increase their relevant attributes, or both. I can’t say the results were impressive that way, so I thought I’d try another for this last hurrah in FM2018. All players were left on the playing position default, so they trained in the position they had been playing in. This allowed me to put them on focus training or new trait training, sometimes both. It would be interesting to see the results at the end of the season. Scouting I only had two scouts to assign as one was reviewing the next opponent, and the Chief was left free to take a look at players I identified myself. I assigned one scout to UK and the other to Central Europe looking for Hot Prospects. I set the Chief up with a selection of free agents I thought might be interesting. I was hard pressed to find anybody better than already available so in the end I opted for youth… well young anyway. A versatile midfielders capable of playing anywhere from DM to AM and left to right, though a specialist ball winner, and a young left fullback to relieve Grounds when he needed a breather. Cohen Brammal joined during the winter window after being placed on the transfer list. Tactics I think it’s fair to say the System evolved somewhat through the year, but was always looking to allow the players free rein in interpreting the team instructions. From time to time I changed a few things, and changed them back again. Even the Team instructions changed as the year went by, as our reputation relative to the other clubs in the competition changed. As usual, I had a standard 4-4-2 utilising a Deep Lying Forward and Advanced Forward combo, but later this changed to Target Man/Advanced Forward whenever Jukewicz was playing. I chose to have a Winger on the left and a Wide Midfielder on the right both on attacking duty. Both Fullbacks set to Support and the Central Defenders to Defend. In the centre of midfield I ended up with a Central Midfielder on Defend Duty as my holding player and a Ball Winning Midfielder on Support to do the running around. I experimented with various combinations utilising Deep Lying Playmakers on Defend or Box to Box Midfielders, but the Central Mid and BWM ended up the most effective. Eventually, the Team Instructions ended up as: Flexible Shape with Standard Mentality. Tempo, Width and Closing Down remained on default, while Defensive Line was set to Slightly Deeper and GK distribution set to be hindered. I set Passing at Direct most of the time, and fiddled with retaining possession at times throughout the season. In the end I did without it, unless the Assistant harped on about possession during a match. I asked the guys to play with more discipline, and left the final third settings at default unless he was beating his brow about longshots. I issued a few Player Instructions: The keeper was asked to distribute quickly to flanks, but rarely did; Central Defenders told to close down much less and to ease off tackles; The Box to Box / Ball Winning Midfielder was asked to Close Down More, Move into Channels and Get Forward; Both wide midfield players were asked to Close Down More; Both Strikers were asked to Close Down More. Concluding While the System was developed during the season and not just prior to ball meeting boot, any changes were gradual and not necessarily permanent.   5. Hi, i'm trying learn to use advanced rules. I understand a little bit, i made some leagues with promotions and relegation (with playoff even) using 'stages' but now I need to take two clubs (or more) from differents competitions and create a playoff final and i don't know how to do it. I have a league system with 4 levels, first and second are 'simple' competition; third and fourth are 'parent competition' (with many competitions in). (sorry for the f*cking paint, i made anything quick) Each box is a 'competition' -is the best way for this system (too much to explain)- but I have problems when I try to make a 'promotion playoff' with a club from "Third Division - Zone A" and other from "Third Division - Zone B". The same case with Fourth Division: I need to face in the promotion playoff a club from "Fourth Division - Region 1" and other from "Fourth Division - Region 2". 'Fourth Division - Region 1' rules: The league's winner will be promoted to 'Third Division' and the runner-up will qualify to 'promotion playoff' against the runner-up of 'Fourth Division - Region 2'. This is only a example, this system aims to have 'parent competition' with 10 or 20 competitions in (each one will be a domestic league). What is the way that I should follow to create this promotion playoff? with a stage as the regular PL? with a new competition? How? Ohh, by the way, pardon my french

  7. Hello! I would like to know what the club's edition looks like step by step. Namely ... I want to create my club, in the game I click my own club. I create it in a given league (eg, first league). I will replace it with another club. Once I create it and save the game, I want to edit it in the "in editor edit". He searches for places (eg Gniezno - as I set up when creating a club). The team pops up. I change everything in my own way ... budget, staff, etc. ... Saves and exports. When I enter the game and click on a career, I have a saved file in the upper right corner. I mark it and click on it ... When the club selection window is open, the club is not on the list. After loading the game at the beginning, nothing changes. And here is my problem. What do you think? What did I do wrong ? I would ask you to list in the table of contents how it should look or solve the problem in a different way. One more thing ... it's better to make a new club through the game or in the editor?   8. There are obviously 32 teams in the world cup and it's frankly world cup fever right now! So I am going to load up the "real" groups of the Russian World cup and see how far I can get with each of the teams. Some teams are obviously better than others. With the likes of Brazil and France going to be easier then Panama or Saudi Arabia! I will use a random wheel to decide which teams I use and begin from there. And if anyone wants to play along and try it with me these are the settings I am using. Steam Workshop Golden Flame's real world cup. I have Japan and Germany playable. I am starting the game in Finland the April 2018 start and I have loaded all international, top players and national reputation players from every continent (roughly 80,000 players). I am setting these rules: 1) Scoring system. Eliminated 4th in group = 1 point (you tried!) Eliminated 3rd in group = 2 points top 16 knocked out = 4 points Quarter Final Knocked out = 6 points 4th place = 7 points 3rd place = 8 points 2nd place = 10 points World cup winner = 12 points! 2) No save scumming, you get 1 attempt per nation.   11. Hi guys! I'm new here and would like some help. As the title says, my game won't start. It just goes directly to the logo of the game and nothing happens. This happened after the new Windows update. I don't know what to do. Kinda of desperate here! Haha Thanks in advance:)

I am getting an unbelievable amount of errors and this is going to be very annoying now. My current game settings: I do not use any additional packages (logo, form, theme). Database size: large9 league selected.Graphic settings: lowestSolutions I tried:1. I dropped the database, only selected one league result: negative2. I activated the video cards one by one (only Amd or Only Intel) Result: the probability of error is reduced but I still get an error3. I checked the video card updates Result: negative4. I repaired and checked the game files via Steam result: negative5. I checked my drivers (overheating, freezing) Result: negative6. I checked the game display mode (window mode or full screen) Result: the probability of errors in window mode is reduced but I still get an error7. Error in the coming days when the result of the output: negative8. Sport interactive classifier result: negative9. I cleaned the game cookie files and cache: result is negative10. I checked game updates results: negative11. The result of reducing the scope of data processing while progressing in the result: negativeand the outcome: I know that as a result of all this we will again be the source of problems, customers, players, malfunctioning. You are the producers of this game and you are the first to be the solution source.I will not buy this game anymore and I will not play it anymore.   14. As the title says, I've tried buying/selling players over the 50 mil limit, no luck. I've spent over 140 on Pogba, 120 on Hazard, no luck. I even made sure the transfer is made with on installments. Anyone had any issues? Anyway to solve this?
  15. Since my bug report threat in Pre-editor with reported never give any result i will start a threat here for all updaters that really know. Still waiting for answers from SI. Many thanks to @Slabbekoorn for all assist in PM's. My biggest problem is that 2 and 3 youth regional divisions doesn't appear ingame, the Standard division are all right (1 and 2 national / 1 regional division). On editor everything verifies, on game everything works except that 2 and 3 youth regional division are inactive, even if i didn't set inactive.... Some minor errors are that u18 teams simply vanish and 2 national division lost the age limit, nothing serious to play. If you have any ideas let me know please _teste juniores V10.fmf
  16. Hi all, Bought FM 2018 on my MacBook air 2017 back in November, purchased via Steam. However, I encounter a very loud fan noise coming from my Mac when starting up the game the noise and the heat of the Mac is further prominent when playing a match. This is the case with FM Touch 2018 also. I have taken the necessary steps such as ensuring my software is up to date, resetting the SMC and re-installing the game, I have even contacted Apple whom we’re somewhat struggling for ideas after going through the troubleshooting process. My question is basically, is there any further steps I can take? Is there an application/programme that I can run FM through? Would the use of Bootcamp via Windows the the best option? Interested to hear from those using FM 2018 on MacBook Air to come up with suggestions. Hope this can be sorted! Owen 😕
  17. Having not played for a few months I jumped on today to check if the single player click-lag, especially in player search, had been resolved. I still get 1-4 second delays (i7, 32gb RAM, GEforce 1080ti, no skins or add-ons...) on each click when trying to search. It makes the game unenjoyable / unplayable. Are others experiencing this?
  18. Hi Guys, I am trying to locate the weaker foot of players who are described as having a "Very Good" left foot and also a "Very Good" right foot. In the past I use to believe if a player had Very Good on both his left and right foot, it meant he had a 20 rating for left and his right foot. I have recently found out this is not true. The only way I know how to check this is to use the in game editor, but I don't have the in game editor enabled on all of my save games, so I am not sure how to find this out in the ones without the editor. For example if you look at Neymar he has a Very Good right & left foot. So I assumed he had 20 20 on both feet until when I recently checked him it said 20 right foot and 15 left foot (Don't quote me on that but I'm sure it it didn't say 20 20). So now that I know this, my question is: In a game where you do not have the in game editor, how to you find out which is the players weaker foot when the game describes both as Very Good.

  20. Hello! I need to set a playoff seeding similarly to NBA/NHL playoff, when the first team of the regular season always plays with the current lowest team. I can do it for one division, but if I have a regular championship with 2 groups, for example, the draw looks random. So, I have to set the first round like 1A v 8B, 2A v 7B, ... , 8A v 1B. But in the quarter final I don't have to get always fixed pairs like (winner of 1A v 8B) against (winner of 4A v 5B). The idea, that the current highest team in the playoff stage plays against the lowest one. For example, if after 1/8 we have teams promoted to 1/4 like: 1A, 2A, 4A, 5A, 1B, 2B, 3B, 6B; the draw on the stage must look like 1A v 6B, 1B v 5A, 2A v 4A, 2B v 3B. I had this in the previous version of editor for fm2017, but now something has changed, and I can't implement this. Thank you!

FM18 Transfers & Data Update Final Pack (by pr0 & FM Transfer Update) / 1.10.2018 / DOWNLOAD LINK This update contains 107.625 changes until the 1st of October 2018 that happened after the 18.3 database lockdown. Inside the pack you will find also the instructions text on how to install correctly the files in your game. Instructions, can be found also at the end of the post. Make sure to visit our new "Online Database Editor" in which everyone can submit a change (edit a transfer) and the database is instantly updated. If I have missed any transfer in the above file so far, or can't be found in the player's tab, feel free to include it. Staff can be edited too. All transfers need to be immediate and as detailed as possible. In case I find more information by googling, I won't accept the change, but instead I will edit it personally with more information. FMTransferUpdate.com Let's see what each file includes: Updated Transfers : 1. Player/Manager/Staff transfers from all around the world from the very best leagues to the small ones. Agents created, with specific attributes and clients, to add more realism to the game. Instructions : Extract the files to : C:\Users\user\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2018\editor data. If editor data folder is not there, create one with this name only. Other names will not recognize the files inside the game. Make a new "Career" game. Choose the "18.3.0 Update" database option and select my files. You are ready to create an updated new game. Q: Can we play this update without the CA/PA changes ? A: Yes , the CA/PA file will be a new file beside the others. If you dont want this file, simply don't choose it when you start a new game.   25. I've created an editor data file that resembles the real-life structure in Ireland as closely as I can. The file verifies in basic rules, however, there is a issue with the playoffs; in real life, as of the 2018 season, teams that finish 2nd to 4th in the First Division enter a promotion playoff. The teams which finish 3rd and 4th play each other over a two-legged tie, with the winner advancing to play the team which finished second in another two-legged tie. The winner of that tie then advances to a promotion/relegation playoff with the team that finished 9th in the Premier Division. This doesn't happen in game, though, I've the rules set up in basic rules as follows: The game does't do this; instead, it sees the playoffs as two different things, with the promotion playoff in the First Division having no effect on promotion, while the promotion/relegation playoff involving the team from the Premier Division just selects the team which finished second in the First Division, but this team will still take part in the promotion playoff in the First Division. I've tried to see if I can modify the rules in advanced rules in order to achieve what I want, but to be honest, I don't really understand how to set up or edit the rules in advanced rules, and even when I left the rules as they are and just made some changes to rules that didn't affect the leagues (e.g. work permit rules), I got an error message that was telling me the wrong number of teams were being relegated and promoted (it was telling me two teams were being relegated from the Premier Division, one team was being promoted from the First Division, and no extra teams were requested). In my latest edit, I changed the scheduling of the playoffs to see if this was causing the issue (the promotion/relegation playoff was taking place on the same days as the semi-final of the FD's promotion playoff), and in the stage settings of the Premier Division, I changed "leag" to "prpl" in the "Get Qualified Teams From Stage, SSE Airtricity First Division, xxxx, Promotion Playoff, Use position in previous stage". Now, I'm getting the following error message: I've made sure that dates finish before this date, as I have set the season end date to be the 30th of November, and the final match in the promotion/relegation playoff tie to finish in and around the 20th of November, with the season update day being the 1st of January.
