  1. Hello SI team, I was looking into Dynamics at my team and saw that some players are concerned and support someone in regards of my management. The person who are supporting is not in my team. I even searched him and he was never a part of my team. Regards, Rodis
  2. Had a player complaining about depth in left midfield even though I don't play with wingers on that save, never did. Surely if you play 5 at the back with wingbacks, players shouldn't complain about a lack of depth on the wings?
  3. So I have played FM for years now, and it only just occurred to me this morning while browsing my players favoured personnel tab that I realised, it's quite often that us the manager will become a favoured personnel of them but never have I seen a former or current team mate become one. The players have pre set favoured personnel as former team mates and friends but they never seem to add to that with current team mates or if you eventually sell them on, former team mates. I have strong partnerships on the field which doesn't really relate to off field relation for example Cole and Yorke, but the fact I have never seen this happen in my game between my players who have played together for years really does raise my eyebrow. Has anyone seen this happen? Or is this a potential over sight from SI? Or even perhaps a bug? Let me know. I'm really curious how this integrates with regens too, I have never done more than 5 seasons with 1 club since I like to change it up so maybe this does happen for regens?
  4. Hi All, I've created a custom squad for Newcastle to play in the Premier League and the Dynamics in the team is Abysmal at the start of the season. Tried to affect it with making all players english and changing their history to have played 2 years for the club (this is only visible in the editor), but no effect, the team has the worst Dynamics in the league. Any ideas how to change this?
  5. Would be nice to start contract negotiations by approaching the player (or player's agent) about contract negotiations and get their offer first. Player Interaction -> Discuss Contract -> "The club is open to negotiating an extension to you deal. What are your terms?" Responses: "Not interested in renewing. Period" "Not interested in renewing unless conditions are met." (improve squad, increased status, playing time, et al) "Interested in renewing, not at this time." (basically gambling that performance in the upcoming season will increase contract") "Interested in renewing, here are my terms..." Player Interaction -> Discuss Transfers -> Transfer -> "We've signed [select new player] and plan to use him in your position. We expect you to [fight for you place] or [rotate with new player] or [mentor new player] or [be transferred away from club]." Responses: "WTF Mate, you don't respect me. Here's my transfer request" "This concerns me, but I'm willing to fight if you guarantee me fair rotation" "Bring on the challenge" "I'll help [new player] acclimate to the position and role" Player Interaction -> Discuss Transfers -> Transfer -> "We're looking to sell you because [you don't fit into my plans] or [you're not going to get enough playing time] or [we need to offset recent transfer outlays]." Responses ranging from willing to have agent seek transfer/loan offers to expressing desire to stay and fight for place. Player Interaction -> Discuss Squad Status -> "Your importance to us has changed and we're [increasing] or [decreasing]" Responses ranging from transfer request to gratitude and increased respect for manager.
  6. I really like the dynamics feature and the links it has to other parts of the game such as tactics. Player partnerships are a really good thing, but unfortunately they start to build just at the start of the game - even though some players may be playing togeher for several years successfully. As posted in the FM18 beta bugs forum by @ralfinho1234, Ribery and Alaba (for example) are playing on the left for Bayern for years now and still start as an untested partnership, whereas the newly signed James is regarded to be bonded more closely to Alaba. It would add massively to the depth of the game world, if there already would be strong und proved partnerships in place. As far as I know you take the years of service at the club to form the social groups - why not also taking it and forming on-field partnerships with it?
  7. Ok can anyone shed some light on this as its starting to drive me a little insane! I started a new game as an American Born Coach, I started unemployed and managed to get the job of Barcelona B Coach after their previous coach had basically been sacked leaving them to 19th place and from 19th I've won 15, lost 7 drawn zero - scored 30 for and 18 against jumping all the way up to 5th. The conditions of my contract were - battle bravely against relegation which so far I have done. From the Dynamics side of things my Manager is advising that: Dressing Room Atmosphere is Very Good Match Cohesion is Good But Managerial Support is Very Poor. 90% of my team talks have most players reacting well to them, I've praised players when they do well in training (one i over praised so I stopped doing that with him!). Nothing I do seems to improve managerial support and the reasons given are: Failing to impress a number of players with your performance as manager (I have a win % of 68% + 12 goal difference) Failing to positively influence a number of players Why do I have such a poor rate for Managerial support? Is it just down to my lack of Rep? (10%) I do have an adaptability of 4 so I assume that works against me? Though I am fluent in Spanish now! I cannot see any way to influence this? Surely winning helps? Anyone have any guidance, docs they can point me to etc!?!?!
  8. Not sure if this is mentioned elsewhere, I did look. It would add to the immersion if you could build closer relationships with staff. It's very common these days for a manager to have an assistant, coaches etc that generally work together as a unit. The ability to form these groups would be a great improvement. Potentially you might have a coach or two at your club that you've agreed in advance will follow you should you move, it could be a larger group including an Assistant that you worked with once before at another club etc. Also, the ability to speak with staff once you've been offered a position and sound them out about joining you would also be good. I've only brushed over this but you get the idea.
  9. Ok, so I am a little frustrated with my players, and I am unsure of whether my lack of understanding of new changes is affecting my players too much. They seem to quietly complain constantly about especially training as well as squad composition. So I start a game as Bath City (as always). The club is part time, so I get between 1 and 2 training passes per week, depending on how many games I have. So I am quite limited in my ability to make everyone happy with training. It is now end of August, and I already have 11 players unhappy about training, and 15 dissatisfied with management. Training: The training started when I was told a handful of players were unhappy with lack of Quickness training. So not knowing how much would be enough, I put in three Quickness passes in the coming 3 weeks. Now 5 other players are unhappy because we have too much quickness training. The rest are a mix of wanting more of various training types. So in order to keep the squad happy, I seem to have to constantly changing my training around to fit their wishes instead of what want to focus on. Any way to better handle this for part time players? ... since I have so few training days, it seems like all I can do is to schedule it to fit the squad's wishes. Management displeasure: Currently 15 players are pre-concerned (what does that mean?) about lack of depth in midfield. Looking at my team report, my first team squad has 8 players to cover my three MC/DM places. 6 of which can also play the DM position. I would think that was enough? I have 7 players capable of playing AM/L and 5 for AM/R. So what is all the concern about? On the Team Report, the AM/R position number is yellow, so maybe that is what they are concerned about? ... but how many AM/Rs do they think my lower league team needs? While they do voice their concern from time to time, it doesn't seem to have escalated yet, but that is probably helped by a position at the top of the table. But how do you properly manage this? ... as I assume it won't go away later on in the season. I feel maybe this needs to get tweaked, at least for part time and amateur teams, where there is little wiggle-room to change up the training to deal with this. Also, it would be nice that if a player has more than one concern regarding training amount and type, that they both get shown. I have seen a player wanting more Quickness training, and when I gave him focus on that, it disappeared from the list, but then it was a concern regarding more tactical defending training. If all this is working as designed, any advice would be appreciated
  10. Can anyone advice me on how to sell a team leader without causing a dressing room meltdown? I'm into the fourth year of my real Madrid save and I want to get rid of marcelo. At the moment nobody wants him and I'm wary of transfer listing him or offering him to other clubs. I already bought in a replacement and with the strict registration rules in Spain, I have no space left for him. Any suggestions?
  11. Danny Bath has been unhappy for the last 6 months because he wants to leave the club for a new challenge. i agreed to sell him and offered him out , at the end of the season i made an offer for a new center back to replace him but now he is worried that the signing of the new center back will threaten his place in the team!!! He wants out , i try to replace him, he becomes worried and feels his place in the team is threatened!! LOGIC!
  12. In the January window on my FM18 save with Bordeaux, Shanghai Shanggang came in with an offer for Toulalan, the club captain and one of its two team leaders. On the offer screen was the message that "his agent has indicated that Toulalan wishes to speak to the club", and since the offer was equal to his value and I didn't want him sulking and bringing the squad down with him - I'd taken over with them in the bottom three - I accepted. He duly agreed terms, saying in the news item post-transfer that he moved for his family's financial security, and since they're paying him £150k p/w rather than the £30k-odd he was getting at Girondins, who can blame him? Fair enough. 15 players objected to the sale - which is also fair enough - led by one of our highly influential midfielders. But why isn't there an option in the conversation that ensues to say "I only sold him because the player said he wanted to discuss terms" given that that's feedback you get from the transferred player himself? Telling them "we needed to cut the wage bill" had a grain of truth to it, but like every other option on the list wasn't the reason I'd sold him, and while 9 players accepted it, I've now got a sulking six to deal with who are unhappy with the way I treated Toulalan (y'know, giving him exactly what he wanted). Surely it would be pretty simple to add this to the list of conversation options when it was appropriate, and even if some players still argued that "you should've put the club's interests first" or whatever, that'd at least make more sense.
  13. So I just won the Premier league with Palace in my first season playing counter attack. This was really weird, because the worst team i'd ever won the league with in my first season in older versions of the game was Southampton, so i think it's safe to safe that whatever has happened here has pretty much matched up with the demands of playing counter attack within the game. But the question is why ? My aim was to recreate Blackburn 1995, have a flat back 4, with two deep midfielders, and then rely upon getting the ball forward very quickly to the front 4, with the wingers putting in crosses to the front two, as Ripley and Wilcox did for Shearer and Sutton. I also wanted some aggression in the tackle, ala Colin Hendry and David Batty and Tim Sherwood. I've done a lot of analysis of the tactic now, i believe one of the foundations of the victory was the determination we scored SO many goals in the 75th + minute - if you see from the mental characteristics of the players (see image), their determination is off the charts. We also won a lot of tackles, and watching the games the amount of sliding tackles going on was ridiculous. I think determination seems to marry well with the counter attacking mentality, as well as the high team work, work rate, bravery, aggression, and the high pace and acceleration of our wide players and strikers. See the YouTube video to accompany the tactic I've attached most of the necessary screenshots. You can download the tactic from the steam workshop http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1209247153. It's also available from mediafire http://www.mediafire.com/file/czsw83zxevde2t0/palace10-1nice.fmf You also need the overload version of the tactic which i use when chasing a game, e.g. 1 or 2 nil down, or drawing 0-0 at 60 minutes. Available from http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1209309704. Also available from mediafire http://www.mediafire.com/file/hv19q2rd88u16p7/rescuetacticpalace.fmf The rescue tactic was quite important in the victory, we won a lot of points from coming back from behind or turning 0-0's into wins. Second season, I've just come back from behind twice to beat Man City 5-2. I assume part of the reason for this was the determination though, as well as the stamina, we were often far more fit than our opponents. I think having strong dynamics was also really important, and i focussed upon this straight from day one in training (see season two early season training schedules). Although we're so good second season i rarely use it. Just beat OG Nice 10-1. I'll be really interested to know how anyone else gets on testing the tactic, or tweaking it to the demands of their teams. I'm going to test it with a completely different club now and see how it goes. Maybe with out the determined players, and the aggression and pace it might not work so well ? I also made a blog post to give a little more info about it, cos i think it's a really exciting tactic https://footballmanager2017dotblog.wordpress.com/2017/11/24/the-classic-english-442-counter-attack/ You can see that it's essentially a structured tactic (which should marry well with less expressive and playing offside). It's a very quick tempo which obviously marries well with width, exploiting flanks and mixed passing. I didn't find pass into space provided any benefit though weirdly, but maybe at a club with better passers it might ? As i said we were very aggressive in the tackle, and OI's were set to the AM, but i set every position to Hard Tackling also. Obviously we used Run At Defence, although no overlapping used, as the wingers are set to attack functions.
  14. In my Dynamics, I enjoy poor leadership support, with several players being against me. See image below But the atmosphere is good, I win most matches, we just won the local championship, and are near the top in the national league. Can you please explain why this is the case, and share some hints as to how I can improve this?... (PS: I already went to each player to see sources of negative happiness, and fixed training complaints with a lighter schedule, to no avail...)
  15. Hey guys, I'm currently managing Dartford in the Conference south in my 1st season. It's Jan 2018 and we are currently sitting Top of the league, only losing two games so far. My coaching qualifications & past playing history is on the default for Dartford. My team cohesion is Average, Dressing room atmosphere is Good & Managerial support is also Average. How can I improve these stats? The squad is only 'content' with the training sessions which my coaches take care of. Could the training influence the dynamics? If so, how can I alter the training sessions for the better? I can provide screenshots if needed. Lastly, my team talks are usually good and I've only upset two players so far. Both were not influential squad members. I sold one of them and the other is on the transfer list. All advice is appreciated. Kind regards, Reece.
  16. Currently the manager of Manchester United and in the January transfer window I offered Phil Jones to other clubs as he was not needed. He got angry and talked to me about it, I told him he was not needed and he got even angrier and now the team is sticking up to him. I got told by the assistant manager to discuss it with the team but when I try interact with Phil Jones there is no option to do so and when on Dynamics and clicking "team talk there is nothing that brings up the Phil Jones situation only stuff about the season. How can I resolve this issue?
