  1. Hi, In my current save, any time I have tried and sign a player to a contract, the Minimum Fee Release clause is not showing up as a clause. I have things like yearly salary raise, Relegation salary drop and the like, and there are players on other teams in other leagues that have a minimum release fee, and I am wondering if such clauses are league/country specific, or am I looking in the wrong place. I'm currently playing in Ligue 1 in France. Appreciate the help! Jellico73
  2. So I need help with a couple of things: 1. What does Abolish Transfer Windows do? I bought the bundle they'd offer and don't know what it does? 2. What is the Manager Release Clause? I don't understand. Thanks
  3. Hi, I had a couple of questions to ask regarding loans. 1) Why am I unable to ask clubs to pay 200% of wages? I mean the option is there but I can never select it as it is grayed out. 2) If I have a player out on loan, and his wages are being paid in full by the club I am loaning to. His wages are 145,000 p/w. I renegotiate a new contract with him and as per new terms I pay him only 84,000. When I go and check the contract info of the player, it still says that the club I have loaned the player to is paying 145,000 p/w whereas his contract with me (club that loaned him out) is showed at 84,000 p/w. So does that mean I am adding 61,000 p/w to my wage budget? And this is my first question in here, so apologizing in advance if it is the wrong category or wrong forum or whatever.
  4. At the moment the salary's that certain clubs can give their players does not match the real life world. FM17 still uses a total salary budget, which can actually be used on one or two single players. For example its know that Ajax and PSV both use a salary cap of 1.0 mio euro's for their players. This is controlled by the board in order to protect the financial situation. Potentially this can be complemented with bonusses of course, but as it is now there is no player that has a 'basic' wage of more than that. I was hoping that in FM17 this would have been implemented, but as I started a new Ajax save I could see that i could offer the starplayer Davy Klaassen up to 2.5 mio p/y. This would never be possible in real life. There could be many players within the squad earning 1.0 mio (so the total salary budget is still usefull), but the highest yearly salary should also have a cap. There are many other clubs using this as well. To make this not too static, an option for requesting the board to increase the Salary Cap can then be built in. So managers can ask their board to lift the cap - making it possible to grow the club further, of course if financials (and tough board members) allow.
  5. I'd like to see more options when you think player demands more than it cost. Or at least one option: "You agree to proposed wage or you have no future here". This should work both for increasing and decreasing wage compared to current contract. E.g. I have player with wage 2000 and he is "worth" 1000 with less than year contract left, I propose new contract for 1000 for 2-3 years. If he refuses I transfer list him and as noone will pay him 2000 he'll most probably leave club in the end of the year without any job. In real life I guess that's not the future he want, though I know some opposite examples.
  6. I loaned out a youth player with a surprisingly profitable contract: the monthly fee is 3x the annual salary, til the end of season. This is by far the best loan deal I've seen. Is this common?...
  7. I find this situation personally unrealistic and it's the situation where a manager goes on holiday for the next match which is probably in like 14 days time only to see at the end of the holiday when reading through the messages that a player came with a certain problem but since the manager is on holiday, the player wasn't attended to and this caused him to be unhappy thereby, affecting the whole team's happiness and to make it worse, you can't even conversate with the said player to sort his problem as it would be termed he was ignored. Secondly, when a manager's contract is running out, and goes on holiday, one could come to realize that he's been offered a new contract, agreed to and signed. C'mon, who does that in real life? How would a board give contract to a manager who is on holiday, who did they meet to sign the said contract, on the player's part, how can a player approach a manager who is not around. It still bugs my mind to see such things in FM 16 and what's worse is that you can't undo or sort it out. Would've been better if those instances had waited for the manager to be back from his holiday or probably halt the holiday period so that the manager would be aware of the important issue on ground. Kind of wondering what it would have been if other clubs placed bids for my players while I went on holiday only to come back and notice the bids were accepted, the players transferred and I'm having just 2 players left; I'd just knock off my laptop. Please, this needs to be sorted out in the future; don't know if it had been fixed in FM 17.
  8. HI, I am having issues when I try to give a new contract to a player who needs a work permit. I get the following screen which says i will have to wait 120 days. Surely he can sign a contract and i can then loan him out to my affiliate club?
  9. I'd be interested to know if anybody else has found this process unclear, but after finalising promises, it isn't completely clear that you then need to proceed directly to the contract negotiations. Could we not have a 'Begin Negotiations' button appear after you finalise the promises? Just missed out on Yesil on a free for my MK Dons side as I thought there is some time required to pass between promises and contract discussions. It might just be me though.
  10. Why should a coach propose adding philosophy(ies) during contract negotiations with the Board? It's more of a liability than a benefit. I need to remain flexible to play and hire as I need, right?
  11. Hey hey, Hope am posting in the right place.......... So, I took over Bangor in the Northern Irish 2nd tier and straight off the bat was only able to sign players on a non - contract basis. This was quite annoying throughout the season as other clubs could come in at anytime to poach my players. Despite this, we achieved promotion at the first attempt and the first thing the board did was set an initial wage budget of around 5k p/w for my next season in the premier (up from about 1k in my first season). I assumed that such a massive jump in the amount of money available for wages would automatically allow me to at least offer part time contracts but this doesn't seem to be the case (still can only offer non-contract terms). Am not raising this as a bug right now as I guess there could be some real world reason but if anyone from SI thinks it is an issue then please let me know and I'll raise it in the bugs forum. Thanks.
  12. Hi, I've got a game going with York, where I've tried to extend the contract of my star player all season. Amazingly, the request of this immense talent is exactly the max salary I am allowed to offer by the board. The only problem in negotiation is the signing-on fee: I'm allowed £20k, the player doesn't budge on his £80k demand. I've sold off some other talent and have some room for budget adjustments, but it doesn't seem to make any difference in contract negotiations. The max amounts remain fixed. Is there any way of increasing the amount allowed?
  13. So I have a young player coming through my youth system at Bournemouth. He's been at the club a couple of years, had one season on loan and the second season I gave him some game time, mostly in the cups. He's playing well and I've heaped on the praise. Third season in I've given him a few games but a championship offered to take him on loan as a key player so I accepted as it would be great for his development. I had a private chat with him and he said 'I love Bournemouth but if you think this loan spell is best for me I'm happy to go out on loan'. (Key point here, he said 'I LOVE Bournemouth'). Then I went to offer him a new contract as I noticed he was in his last year. I'm told that he does not wish to enter discussions as he feels it would be unwise for his career to stay at Bournemouth due to his dislike for the club.....???? I've being trying to offer him a new contact for 2 or 3 months now but now change. I guess I'm going to lose him? I do not want to use the editor as a) it costs money b) once its there you cannot get rid of it and although people say 'just ignore it' that's not easy to do when you scout a player and it shows on the search screen all their exact current and potential ability and all hidden attributes. As much as I love FM it's bull like this that gets me frustrated, I usually wait till March to play the latest game as it's supposed to be when all bugs are fixed but evidently not. Incidentally, do people think it's unrealistic that there are some players / staff who refuse to even discuss moving to your club? In reality everyone has a price and if someone says he doesn't want to join your club you could say 'how about for £10m a year?' and they would change their mind! Yet in football manager you don't have the chance to throw money at someone who doesn't want to come. Perhaps its time they did away with players and staff refusing to discuss contract terms, you should always have an opportunity to offer them money and then see what they say!
