  1. Exactly...that is why I am saying they should have given themselves more than a year to develop a better release LOL come on man. If they decided when COVID hit (say April/May) they were only going to release a new game in Nov-21 + patch/update (summer + winter) fm20 in meantime, then that would give them a lot of extra time to work on the Nov-21 release. You cannot tell me otherwise
  2. I love how people in this thread act like the game is given out for free. It's not...SI charge £50 for it every year & make nice fat profit margins on it, every single year. Given COVID, this year would have been the perfect time for SI to take a step back & properly work on the multiple issues/gripes the community have been raising for 3yrs. They should have released a patch + a data update for FM20 & come back in November 2021 w/ a properly fixed up FM22 release that included a reworked ME, improved graphics & proper value-add new features. Alas, they stuck wi
  3. 2nd game of the day below. LOOOOL, another AI set peice goal & 2 ridiculously easy chances missed for me. State of this ME...t's unbelievable. Could post these all day
  4. Outside the ME the game is great. The ME, however, is extremely poor...especially if you like to watch matches fully like I do. There are huge issues with 1-on-1s/easy chance conversion (too many missed) & set peices/long shots (too many scored) leading to an unbalanced watch. Below is a screenshot of the last game I've just played that illustrates the issue. I score 1x 30yd long shot & 1 normal finish in the box but miss 4 other guilt edge chances in the process, literally inexplicable misses. Charlton score a 30yd long shot. This = a v. fustrating watch & I could screenshot
  5. Yep. It's so poor. 1/3 of the goals I've conceded in my last 50 domestic games have been long shots (+ don't let me get started on how many of the rest are from set peices, which is equally as bugged)....most of the time its also from players w/ poor long shots / technique also which further highlights the issue. I'm honestly astonished at how the ME is this bad on its 4th patch. FM20 ME really is a pathetic showing from SI
  6. Happily as soon as SI give my back my £40 or w.e. I paid....until then I have the right to give criticism. I've been playing this series for >10yrs & this is pretty much the first time I have felt the need to post on game issues so I think that tells you how blatant they are appearing to me. Exactly
  7. As I said, it doesn't matter which way. If 1-on-1s & general shot conversion were better such that I conceded more from open play, then I myself would score way more. Either way you cut it, the ME is v. unbalanced at the moment. Personally, I think it is a combination of both as set peices & long shots seem to me to fly in way too often. The whole mix of ME, incl. chance creation (too many) & shot conversion (horrific) in open play + long shots (too many) + set peices (too many) is way off which is why you get these lopsided stats
  8. I am using set peices & long shots as a % of total goals conceded to argue the point that something dodgy is going on. Now sure, there are 2 ways to read the stat. (i) could mean too many of them are flying in and I should have conceded less goals overall or (ii) could mean that I should have conceded more goals from open play (1-on-1s & general shot conversion another big problem). (i) or (ii) doesn't matter as even if it is (ii), that would mean I myself would score a helllll of a lot more from open play as some of the 1-on-1s & chances that are missed are criminal. Likely i
  9. My last 50 domestic league matches: 78 goals scored. 15 assited by set pieces (20% of total goals). 12 long shots/from outside area (15%). I can't tell how many long shots were assisted by set pieces, but let's assume, say, 50% were. That gives a total of 21 (27%). 26 goals conceded. 12 assisted by set pieces (46%). 6 long shots/from outside area (23%). I can't tell how many long shots were assisted by set pieces, but let's assume, say, 50% were. That gives a total of 15 (58%) <- this is dodgy af in my opinion & it's not fun to watch Below are PL stats up until the restar
  10. First game of the day & no fk*n surprises. Literally every 1 in 3 games on this terrible ME is like this....how did they score? 30yd screamer this time. Why is it I need multiple quality chances every game to score (in this game at least 3 of the "half chances" were easy chances, so 6 clear cut (1-on-1s, sitters from 3yds out), convertible chances for 1 goal) yet the AI always manages to score 1 from a set peice or long shot? ME needs to be thrown in the bin & restarted from scratch. It's poor

  12. Topics on how poor set peices are popping up on a daily basis. That should tell you all you need to know
  13. What's worse is that the game is on its 4th patch with issues like this...& there will be no further patches. Hence I'm not playing the game anymore & will not be buying FM21 unless the reviews on the ME are stellar
  14. Yes, many are. See below a recent topic I created on the issue (would ignore the posters who do nothing but defend the ME/SI till their last breathe & bang on about the player needing to tweak their routines; sheer number of people complaining about this issue shows there is something fundamentally wrong). ME is poor in general but set peices are something else for me.
  15. Ok sure the number works out to 1 in every 2 games but the more relevant stat to look at is as a % of total goals conceded. Say Villa lose 4-0 to City & then 2-0 to Norwich (incl. from a set peice) then the 25% of goals conceded from set peices is more informative than the 1 in every 2 games imo. I gave you the stats from what I was seeing in my OP, 90% at the time of posting which I am tracking in an excel (incl. goals where the ball bobbles around in the box after a FK or corner)....v. far removed from the 1 in 5 it looks like for the PL overall. & if you don't believe me
