I know it's early days yet, but I have corrected your post for you. It's good to get the detail right I find.

You boys are going well again after an opening day bump in the road.

Them other lot missing their talisman up front about as much as you would expect. (It's good to see but I still expect them to be bang in the mix). (3-5 4-2 5-5 is just what we have come to expect with them). With their #10 available I wonder quite how many more goals they would have scored, (because for all the digs he is bloomin brilliant).

Good to see you back on here by the way.

You've definitely made a solid start, yep. My money's on Chesterfield this year, though.

And yeah, I'm thrilled with our start. A few too many people fancy us for automatic promotion, including in the club. I'm not sure the added pressure is needed, I'm just happy to be back in the EFL, although I definitely hope we finish ahead of the Hollywood mob this year. Agreed that Mullin is brilliant, but I'd take Macca over him every day of the week!

Cheers, mate. Glad to be back. I keep trying to configure my laptop in a way to run a newer full-fat FM, but without joy so far. Frustrating. Maybe 24's console version will include enough extra details to keep me satisfied. This is my most recent attempt at trying to run the last full-fat version I bought, FM19.

Some of us never leave. We just grow older and older.

That's the spirit, Jimbo! A bit like Barnet in the National League. 😄

I'm getting the FMCU/writing bug back ever so slowly. Just restarted an old thread of mine where I have unfinished business. How are you? Any plans for a new save or waiting for 24?

All good here, man. You? I'm currently stuck somewhere between waiting to play 24 on console and playing 13, because my laptop is 💩💩. Started a Notts County thread, though.

Records. With 2 games of the season still to play, we have just set the record, both for goals scored at this level, and also goals conceded at this level. Talk about entertaining football

Kevin Keegan? Football royalty on this sub. 😄

A decision has finally been made and it's going to be a play-off between us and Kolejarz Łódź on 17 August for a place in the 4th tier. I've only just started working with this team and this is probably going to be the biggest game of my career so far. :D We're probably the favourites here, let's do it!

Congratulations mate, but as a Lech fan, that must sting...

In my career thread I recently went into the last game of the season, (as Belenenses in Portugal), where if we drew with Benfica on the last game of the season, we would win the league but Benfica would have remained unbeaten & invincible for the whole league season.

I had never heard of this happening before either in-game or in real life so I asked if anyone had ever heard of it before and @Johnny-Trotterposted this brilliant link.

    https://www.theguardian.com/football/2009/jun/10/football-trivia-liverpool-undefeated-seasons

In it gives the following examples of teams who went undefeated for a whole league campaign but who still didn't manage to win their league.

Spartak Sofia* of Bulgaria in 1950/51 drew 8 and won 14 games, but were still pipped to the title by 1 point by CDNV Sofia, (who are now CSKA Sofia).
Perugia in Italy in 1978/79 drew 19 of their 30 games, so it wasn't really a surprise that someone else (Milan), won the league.
Benfica of Portugal in 1977/78 drew 9 and won 21 games, but Porto pipped them on goal difference, (+60 to +45), (and I wonder if that why they now use head to head record before GD?)
Galatasaray of Turkey in 1985/86 drew 16 and won 20 games, but Beşiktaş pipped them on goal difference, (+44 to +37).
Red Star Belgrade in Serbia in 2007/08 drew 12 and won 21 games, but were smashed by a whopping 5 points by Partizan Belgrade.

*Spartak Sofia changed their name to Levski-Spartak when they became an affiliate of Levski Sofia and played in the Bulgarian Regional Leagues, but in 2007 they were dissolved and no longer exist. :( In order to complete this challenge you could use Levski Sofia for the Bulgarian leg.

This is the sort of thing that really appeals to me and if I was doing a save with transfers then I could really get my teeth into this as a challenge I think. For anyone thinking of doing it, maybe the order should probably be swapped around a little to something like this.

    Levski Sofia in Bulgaria.
    Red Star Belgrade in Serbia.
    Galatasaray in Turkey.
    Benfica in Portugal.
    Perugia in Italy.

The plan would be to go through each team in turn and win the top domestic league with an unbeaten season. Some clubs would be easier than others but actually Red Star, Galatasaray & Benfica shouldn't be much of a challenge at all, but Perugia, (who are currently in Serie B), would be an enormous challenge. Just getting the jobs would be hard in itself.

Anyway, just thought I would share because then link from @Johnny-Trotterwas brilliant and it got me thinking. If only Spartak Sofia still existed. :(

In 95/96, Celtic lost one league game all season, and still finished four points off the top. Always mad when that sort of thing happens.

    York City
Season summary 2021/22 - National League

    League
    Media prediction: 18th
    Finished: 1st (promoted as champions)

    Cups
FA Cup: eliminated in Fourth Qualifying Round
    FA Trophy: Winners

    Top scorers
Emmanuel Dieseruvwe: 28 goals in 52 games (26 in the league)
Jake Hutchinson: 12 goals in 32 games (8 in the league)
Andy Dallas: 11 goals in 30 games (8 in the league)
Harry Bunn: 10 goals in 46 games (10 in the league)

    Top assists
Michael Duckworth: 13 in all competitions
Emmanuel Dieseruvwe: 12 in all competitions

    Positives
Well, where do we start? Considering I would have been happy with a mid-table finish, we've been absolutely magnificent. Just five league defeats, only 31 goals conceded in 46 games, four players into double figures with goals scored, and a winning visit to Wembley in the trophy. Lovely stuff. I'm also confident that the vast majority of the squad can stand up to the challenge of playing in the EFL, so I'm not going to go too crazy in the transfer market this summer, either. I'd like another centre back, possibly a right back, but I'm happy enough with what we have. We also have around £1m in the bank and two or three young kids who aren't too far away from breaking into the first team squad, so all in all, things are looking great.

    Concerns or disappointments
Naturally, I was disappointed to crash out of the cup so early, but very few.

    Ambitions
I am considering whether it's time to start looking around for my next job, but I'm not convinced I'll leave this summer.

    Surprise of the season
Expected to finish in 18th, yet winning the title? Yeah, I'll take that. I was also really pleased with the performance of Emmanuel Dieseruvwe on making the step up. He's had a magnificent season.

    Manager's player of the season
Michael Duckworth. Practically ever-present, and absolutely brilliant on the right flank.

    Attendances
    Lowest attendance: 7,553
    Highest attendance: 8,512 (sell-out)
    Average crowd: 8,197.
